Chapter 8 Fake Day Care Couples

Delia: (Eats Breakfast with Ash) So you decide to leave your jacket to Julia because you don't want her to catch a cold. That is really nice of you, Ash.

Ash: Yeah. But I am going back to the Power Plant so I can get it back. (Finishes breakfast) Besides, I am going to try challenging the second gym, which is Florinia's. And by the way, Mom. Arceus told me something about you being killed but got revived. I don't think it is better not to let me know about everything about the region. Why do you got killed, and what actually happened?

Delia: (Flinches a little and sighs) Let's say that both of us were killed by Team Meteor in the past, but we also got revived and stayed at Kanto.

Ash can't believe what he has heard, Team Meteor was the one that killed both of them, and they got revived because of Arceus.

Ash: So before we got revived, what kind of life are we in this Reborn Region?

Delia: (Weak smile) A happy life, with my husband, you, and two more children. But ever since we got killed. I wonder if they're still alive somewhere...

Ash is now frowning, now it makes sense why his mother has never told him about his father or other things. But he shakes his thoughts and leaves the house, trying to do some things before heading to Julia's place.

The first stop is the Grand Hall, and they find a scientist there.

Scientist: Hello there! I see you have the Field Effect Note app! Please allow me to upgrade it with some recently recovered data!

As he upgrades the dex, Ash notices that the field is Rainbow Field.

Ash: Looks like even Rainbows can be dangerous as well...that's good to know.

Since it is a sunny day, Ash decides to purchase some ice cream for his Pokemon to eat. After that's done, they find a hiker on the road looking for houses, so Ash decides to help him out and luckily, they find a house for the man to live in, for helping him, he gets an Onix as a reward.

Ash's New Pokemon in Lower Peridot Ward: Onix (Event).

After getting to the Neo Circuit Power Plant, Ash brings a cup of coffee made by his mother to her.

Julia: Thanks for the coffee, Ash. You really are a thoughtful person.

Ash: You think so? I'm glad to hear that. By the way, I'm here to get my jacket back, since I couldn't let you sleep on the cold floor just like that.

Julia: The floor wasn't actually that cold, because it is filled with electricity. (Brings the jacket to Ash) By the way, you're going to challenge Rini, right? Don't let her get the best of you since you have beaten me.

Ash: Of course, and I'll be going.

Without noticing, Julia suddenly rushes up to Ash and gives him a kiss, catching him off guard. But when he gets back to his senses, Julia is nowhere in sight.

Ash: It was just like Serena...(Frowns) Was Serena in Professor Oak's Lab? I don't think I remember seeing her there...

As he walks outside to clear his thoughts, he bumps into Victoria, who is walking toward the gym.

Victoria: Ash! Did you just win your first Badge? Congratulations!

Ash: Actually, I won the badge last night. I was visiting Julia to get my things back because I left them inside.

Victoria: Oh, I see. It only gets harder from here, though. I was thinking about challenging Julia myself as well, but then I heard something awful... Apparently, something is happening in the Obsidia Ward? Something about plants growing out of control, attacking people, and locking down the park? I was just heading over there to see if there's anything I can do to help!

Ash: I think I have heard of that from Florinia, maybe I can stop it. Where is the Obsidia Ward?

Victoria: It's east of the Grand Hall if you want to come too!

Ash: Sure, let's go.

But just as they arrive at the gate, they are stopped by the guard, who refuses to let them enter.

Guard: I'm under strict orders not to let civilians into this area, even well-intentioned ones. "Road to hell" and all that.

Victoria: Then how do you expect anything to get done about it?! By your own admission, there are people trapped in there struggling, and you're keeping the ones who want to help locked out?

But the officer won't budge, much to their annoyment. Fortunately for them, someone arrives to save them.

Florinia: The desire to better a given circumstance remains entirely uncorrelated with the ability to do so. Confounding variables in any situation contribute to unpredictability and decreased control. This principle holds doubly valid for the situation within Obsidia, wherein far too many unknowns yet exist to even begin to have just a rudimentary understanding of the scenario.

Guard: Boy, am I glad to see you, Miss Florinia. You think you could do something about these two?

Florinia: Ash has already demonstrated veritable competence in assisting in the takedown of a criminally-organized facility.

Victoria: (Turns to Ash) Wait, you did what?

Ash: Long story, but Team Meteor was at Mosswater Industrial and I did help Florinia and Julia to stop them.

Victoria: In the other case, however, no evidence has been provided to suggest that the benefit from allowing access to an additional party outweighs the associated risk. The risk itself is indisputable in demonstrated appearance, to say nothing of unforeseen factors. Upon what merit do you base the claim that you deserve access to a highly volatile, still-restricted area?

Ash: I know you can't just let in every schmuck who wants to go through, but there are still people living there. Right now, while we're sitting here arguing about it, those people need help more than ever. We're not gonna get in your way or mess anything up, but I think if there's even just one person who can use a helping hand right now, it's worth offering it.

Florinia: (Stares at Ash and nods) Answer accepted. Full credit. On the authority of this speaker, these two will be permitted passage to the Obsidia Ward. Objections?

Guard: (Give salute) No, ma'am. Go right on ahead. Good luck in there.

The guard then opens the gate to let them through, much to their delight.

Victoria: ...Oh! That worked!

Florinia: This speaker will brief you on the details of the situation, but the matter is best explained through observation. Let us proceed forward.

In Obsidia Ward, Ash looks around the streets to see the plants growing, and there are also some stores for them to go to, like the Central Obsidia Salon, Critical Capture, Devon Corp, which Ash finds interesting since it is from Hoenn, and Sweet Kiss Candy Shop. They decide to head inside the Candy Shop first and they find a boy staring at the ice cream machine.

Boy: Unyuuu... I really want some ice cream from this vending machine, but I don't have any money...

Ash decides to help out by purchasing ice cream for him, and he is so delighted and leaves. But much to his surprise, he finds a Vanillite in the ice cream machine and he decides to buy it for keeping it safe. And by doing the puzzle, Ash also gets a Swirlix as a prize.

While continuing further, they find a Pokemon Center and a Day Care Center, as well as a house that leads to the other side of the broken Underground Railnet. In that place, Ash finds a Klink and captures it.

Ash's New Pokemon in Underground Railnet: Klink (Cave)

Ash's New Pokemon in Obsidia Ward: Vanillite, Swirlix (Event)

As they enter the Day Care Center, he finds the Day Care Woman and Day Care Man, but something is not right.

Day-Care Lady: Hello. I am the Day-Care Lady. We can raise your Pokemon. Just leave your Pokemon in our care and it will become stronger than you could have ever imagined. (Sees Ash) Oh! You're -Never mind. Um, yes, we're actually closed. Sorry about that.

Ash: What? Closed? (Turns to the man) Are you serious?

Day-Care Man: No, really, you should leave.

Ash: Stop kidding me, I know for sure it is still morning and you only closed at midnight. You guys are not the real Day Care couple, right?

Day-Care Man: Uggggh! Fine! You leave us no choice! We'll eliminate you ourselves!

The couple reveals to be Team Meteor members, and judging by the words they are using, they realize it is the same Meteor grunts that tried to steal the Igglybuff. Ash has Pikachu and Incineroar to battle them and knock out their Pokemon with ease.

Geoff: Yes, I remember you from back at the factory and that house. Why must you always get in the way?! We've had this ruse up for weeks now... No one suspected that we weren't actually Obsidia Day Care's sweetest elderly couple!

Ash: Where are the real ones? Where did you take them?

Audrey: Where are the real ones? You'll never know! They're locked up somewhere far away, and you'll never know! Ahaha! Even if you did, you couldn't rescue them- we hid the key somewhere else! So it's useless!

Geoff: Well, this was a good way to collect the Pokemon of the more naive Trainers... But we can't have those pesky old people letting Pokemon breed, eh? Everyone must be eliminated.

Just then, all of them flee the scene, much to Ash and Pikachu's annoyment.

Ash: So we have a new mission to do, find the Day Care Couple and also the key to their prison. They probably won't hide them somewhere really faraway.

Pikachu nods as they head out and Ash also contacts his mother about the news.

Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, you can see that the Day-Care Couple in the game at first is disguised by Team Meteor grunts, so I have to defeat them and also find both the couple and the key to saving them. Fortunately, they are not that hard to find. I hope you like this chapter and we will be heading to the slums in the next one.
