Short Five: How Zuma Escapes Chores

It was sometime after breakfast, and the Paw Patrol were tasked with doing their weekly house cleaning chores. Flare and Marshall were washing the teams cars outside, and Chase was walking around the yard to make sure there weren't any toys left out there. Rocky was on trash duty, and Snow was washing the dishes with Skye, who used her suit wings to help her dry them. Zuma was on floor mopping duty, and he saw that Everest was on vacuuming duty in the living room. Both looked boring to Zuma. Outside of actual Paw Patrol missions, he wasn't big on chores.

Chase came inside to check on Zuma and Everest with the former asking Chase an intentionally stupid question. "Which side is the cleaning one again?" This caught the attention of Skye and Snow with the latter snickering as she heard this. Her morning was just about to be made.

Chase sighed in annoyance as he saw Zuma intentionally holding the mop upside down. "The side you're pointing at the ceiling."

"Ohhhhh. Okay, let me twy again." Zuma responded, and then he dropped the mop on Chase's head while trying to avoid grinning towards him. It covered the top of Chase's head, and when Chase moved the mop from his eyes, he had a deadpan grin that Zuma tried hard not to laugh at. Snow couldn't help but start laughing herself with Skye rolling her eyes while smiling at Zuma's latest attempt to get out of his weekly house cleaning chore. "Is this how you do it?"

"Forget it; I'll do it." Chase took the mop from Zuma while also giving him some advice that would help him later down the line. "You're gonna have to learn to deal with doing this stuff one day Zuma. No one wants to live in a pigsty their whole life."

"Yeah, but we have eight dogs on deck and a human who watches over us, along with a human/demon hybwid who could help us anytime he wanted." Zuma revealed, and then he gave a sly grin as he gave Zuma some insight on something else. "I'll switch to wesponsible mode when Wocky and I stawt getting fweaky under the sheets."

Zuma walked over to the living room to check in on Everest as Chase started mopping with Snow continuing to snicker as she and Skye kept at it with the dishes, which annoyed Chase a little. "Laugh it up Snow. You're lucky you have a partner."

Everest was still vacuuming in the living room, and as Zuma entered and got on the couch, she finished and went to put the vacuum away. She then went over to the couch and sat down next to Zuma, curious as to why he did what he did to get out of mopping the floors. "Mopping isn't really that hard of a task. Why back out of it?"

"I just think duties outside of missions are bowing." Zuma explained, and then he picked up the remote and turned the Tv on, putting it in between the couch cushions as he gave a sly grin. "And now Chase can't stop me fwom enjoying my day up to lunch."

Zuma was revealed to be watching some kind of show about a blue Akita fighting off against a white Great Dane. It was pretty violent and also looked like a Dragon Ball Z clone of sorts, leaving Everest to wonder if it was okay for them to be watching this. "Not that action isn't my style of show Zuma, but this looks pretty ultra violent."

"That's exactly what it is dudette." Zuma assured Everest, and he continued to watch as he stuck the remote further into the couch cushions. "And Chase can't do anything about it without the wemote." Everest had seen what Zuma was doing and was unsure if it would go well for him. Having become more responsible thanks to the year she spent looking after Snow while they were searching for a new home, she had a feeling Chase was going to figure him out soon enough.

Rocky then came in from taking out the trash and had just finished spraying himself with a bunch of deodorant to get the smell off of him. He instantly saw that Chase was mopping the floor like Zuma was supposed to, and Rocky couldn't help but roll his eyes while smiling as he walked over to Zuma and Everest. As he sat down next to Zuma, he instantly asked him if what he thought happened, did happen. "Pretending to not know what you're doing again?"

Zuma nodded his head yes confidently, and then Chase came into the room and saw what they were watching. He'd already been told by Ryder not to watch this show, and he gave him a stern look when he went over to the couch, knowing he was the one who put it on. "Zuma, what did Ryder say about watching Ginga: Story of Weed?"

Zuma thought for a moment and tried to think of how exactly to counteract this, and decided to just spitball it after a few seconds. "Don't do it unless it's absolutely necessawy?"

Chase gave another deadpan look to Zuma and looked for the remote after realizing he didn't have it. "Alright, where's the remote?"

Everest darted her eyes to the spot Zuma hid the remote under silently, and Chase caught on, reaching for it as Zuma noticed and called her out on it. "Snitch." Zuma then started fighting Chase for the remote and tried to pin him on the ground. "You can have it aftew Weed goes Super Canine on Hougen!" Everest looked to Rocky, who shrugged while smiling in response to the situation. It's pretty clear that days like this are a weekly occurrence.
