*hi again! This is my second story about Chandler and Monica. This story is based on the timeline in the late seasons of friends. - I do not own any of the characters –

I hope you enjoy it! Reviews are welcome! *

Chandler sat in the couch simply staring absently at the big-ugly-navy coffee cup. Today there were no one at the coffee house. Bored, he kept staring at the cup as it would disappear if he did so. Then the door opened and Monica came in. She had a travel bag around her shoulder. Chandler turned his head and slightly smiled at her saying "hey" "hey sweetie." Monica said brightly. As he turned his head to the cup again Monica thought it was weird. A little irritated she put the bag on the arm chair and sat next to chandler. Trying to freshen the mood, she smiled again looking into his eyes. "So, what have you been doing while I was away?" Chandler looked at Monica and just added "nothing special." With his shoulders shrugging.

Monica was quite surprised that chandler didn't seem overwhelmed to see his wife after the weekend. Two days could be no big a deal, but she was kind of disappointed by Chandler's reaction. Once again she asked him with a little cheesy voice if he missed her. But he said "surprisingly no, not really." and just smiled. She couldn't understand why he was being so numb suddenly. Is he not excited over me? Or do he not care about me? All the stupid questions rang in her head. Confused, Monica stood up from the couch and grabbed her bag. "Well, I think I'm gonna go upstairs and take a shower." He said okay, normally. Monica left without looking back at him.

Monica rapped her hair with one of her daily-uses towel. She wore her gown and left the bathroom. She opened the fridge and took out an orange juice. After drinking it she sat on the kitchen chair, thinking. Even when she was taking a shower she kept thinking about this afternoon. She had never seen chandler so neutral in front of her, He always wanted her. She loved him to but in their relationship, he was the one who wouldn't hide his affection for her. But she felt as if he didn't miss her, or really care where she had been. He would've known that she went to her chef convention. Though he didn't ask how it was or really talked to her downstairs. Monica was getting scared that he might not love her as much as he used to, but she didn't want to go ahead. As she anxiously drank another cup of orange juice, Chandler came in. She pretended like nothing bothered her, but she wanted to check his reaction again, wishing she was wrong about him earlier. He came closer to the kitchen she walked over and hugged him.

"Aww." he said. She wrapped her arms around his waist tightly but only one of his arm went over her shoulders. It was brief and he pecked his lips against her forehead once and walked out. Monica felt her heart sink. Watching the back of his head she was angry. 'How can he not notice?' She thought. She knew it was a common misunderstanding between man and woman, but they never had the problem. Instead he plainly watched Tv with his arm crossed. "Hey honey, can you give me some cookies?" Chandler asked her without looking at her. She couldn't believe it. He would just think of her as a waiter? "Um, no." "And you know what? I'm going out, so you should get yourself the cookies." Chandler looked startled and didn't have a clue of what was happening. But Monica didn't care. She was pissed off. Leaving him she just barged out only taking her coat.

Monica felt a headache. This was never planned. She didn't know where to go. She knew she needed the girls. This wasn't something boys could understand, mainly since they were the ones causing it. She decided to go to Rachel. She thought phoebe would be with mike and didn't want to interrupt. Walking across the street Monica figured that Rachel could be with Ross watching Emma, but she wasn't in the mood to care much. She needed to talk to her friend Rachel. She climbed the stairs and reached Ross's apartment. When she rang the bell, he answered it. "Hey mon, what are you doing here?" Ross asked curiously. She didn't have the energy to answer him she impatiently asked for Rachel. "Well yeah, she's here. Uh, Rach?"

Rachel appeared from Emma's bedroom. Monica could tell that she just put Emma in bed. As Ross closed the door she walked towards her. "Hey, Mon. What's wrong?" Unlike others, she knew that Rachel could tell if something was wrong with her. "Oh honey, are you alright?" she held both of Monica's hands and brought her to the couch. Ross looked confused but could sense that his sister wasn't in a good mood and asked "yeah Mon. Is everything okay?" She just nodded slowly. Then Rachel signaled Ross to leave her with Monica. He was worried but quietly left the room. After he left the room Monica started to sob. Warm tears rolled down her cheek. Rachel calmed her by softly rubbing her back. Few minutes later, she could stop crying and started to tell the story. After it Rachel cried out. "That's harsh! I can't believe chandler acted that way." "I mean, what women want most is attention and love from their man!"

"Exactly!" "I know!" Two friends yelled. "Aw, I understand how you felt. It happened to me and Ross once and it wasn't good." Rachel said. Then Monica carefully asked "You don't think chandler loves me less than before, do you?" she could see Monica's eyes darken a little. She felt so bad that she would even think that. "No way! Oh Monica that's ridiculous. I mean, anyone who has seen you guys together wouldn't say that. As a person who has seen you guys together for so long I've never seen a couple who was meant for each other as much as you guys. So please don't think that." "You really think so?" "Definitely." she nodded. Now Monica seemed a little relaxed. She stroke her hair softly and smiled. "Thanks." Monica spoke with watery eyes. "Aw, I'm glad you came to me." Then Monica slowly stood up. When the girls held each other's hands someone knocked on the door. Rachel wiped her tear and opened the door. And there stood Chandler wishing his wife was here. Rachel saw through his eyes and moved out of the way. Monica saw Chandler and walked out saying goodbye to her friend. The couple walked down the stairs without a single conversation. Outside the building darkness grew larger on the street. Clearly her visit must've been longer than she thought. When they stepped the last stair of their apartment Chandler spoke. "I'm sorry to ask you for cookies this afternoon. I shouldn't have thought it was obvious. I should have appreciated you more." Monica was a little tired and angry to hear him talk about the wrong thing, thinking it was the main reason she was mad. She turned and faced him. Her eyes were wet again. She spoke while opening the door "I'm not mad at you because of that. Don't you have anything that's on your mind other than that? I mean how can you not notice it when-" when she entered the house her words weren't able to come out. Her mind stopped and so did her feet. The house was decorated with candles and rose petals, just like their proposal night. She burst out of tears and fell on the floor. Chandler was nonplussed and quickly knelt in front of her and hugged her. "Hey sweetie, are you okay?" He repeated saying this and stroked her head. Monica finally spoke, half sobbing.

"I thought you didn't love me as you used to." Chandler almost jumped out of his skin when he heard it." What? How can you think that?" "You weren't that happy when I came back. When i asked you if you missed me, you told me you didn't. When I hugged you after you came from the coffee house, you just hugged me with one arm on my shoulders for just a few seconds!" Monica cried.

"What? You thought I didn't love you than I used to because of that?" He sighed and cupped her cheek. Stroking her hair over her ears he stared daringly into her eyes and smiled. It was the smile he only showed to her. He continued "Honey, I'll explain all of it. But before that, do you remember what day it is today?" Monica sniffed and thought for a second, then she realized something. "Yes, today is our anniversary, for London. I know you haven't realized it because you were caught up by the convention, so I thought it would be great if I could make it a surprise for you when you came back." Chandler stopped talking for a second to check Monica's reaction. Her cheek was dampened from the tear drops. But the watermarks made her face glow from the candle light and she looked the most beautiful to him. He caressed her cheek once again and continued. "First when I saw you at the coffee house I was still thinking of tonight's surprise event for you, so I couldn't welcome you as much as I should've. And secondly with the question, I was joking. And I know it was a big mistake, but I can tell you now what I was thinking back then in my mind. No, I didn't miss you because I was thinking about you all the time ever since the second you left. You were what had been in my mind and heart forever. It was like you've been with me every single minute. And I know my memories of you can never compete with the real you, but still, I felt like you were here with me and that why I answered it like that." They looked at each other for a few second. "And finally the reason why I didn't hug you tight was because I thought saving my feelings and actions would make the surprise more unexpected. But I never guessed you might think that. I just wanted to make you happy." After he had explained all his behaviors Monica smiled. "I'm sorry to misunderstand you Chandler, and to be mad at you for such reasons." She got up and looked deep in his blue eyes. He stood up, too, holding her waist. "I love you Monica, I always have and always will. I can't imagine my life without you." Watching a cute smile spread across his cheek she said "I love you too Chandler, you're everything that I've ever wanted. And I'm never letting you go." Monica sheepishly smiled. Unable to resist, Chandler dived into the pool of Monica's lips. He passionately crashed his lips on hers. She kissed him back caressing the back of his head.

Her fingers came to his hair and the kiss hardened. Both of them were out of breath but neither stopped. As his tongue entered they moved towards the bedroom. Closing the door they both parted from each other for a second to take their jackets off. Then Monica lightly pressed him on the bed. Undoing his shirt she drew her body closer to him. When the shirt was gone his body showed. Monica enjoyed every part of his body with her eyes, his shoulders and chest she can lean on..."You see, I think I deserve my treat too." He smirked. Again kissing her, his hand got rid of her blouse. This time he enjoyed every curve of her body. His hands ran over her. Monica seemed to be shy and enjoying his touch at the same time. Chandler laughed from her cuteness. "You are so beautiful." he spoke. He still couldn't stop but be astonished by her beauty, and Monica couldn't stop but adore him for that. "Well, you got yourself very lucky, mister." They both smiled and crawled up the bed.
