"You're on your own with this one!"
The mirthful sound of Vanth's voice as he walked away made Fennec lift her head from the report she was reading, and caused Boba to freeze in place in the doorway. Where, she surmised, he had been about to try and sneak away.
"What are you on your own about?" she asked dryly, the negotiations with the various Tusken tribes must have been interesting.
Boba relaxed.
"How do you feel about getting married?"
Fennec blinked and quietly chuckled.
"Let me guess some of the Tribes wanted to use a marriage as a way of sealing the deals?"
"Yes."
"And you told them you already had a spouse?"
Boba nodded.
Fennec considered.
"Technically we are already married by my people's standards," she finally said, "you've washed and braided my hair, we shared intimate meals, you've provided a permanent shelter, and we've taken over a crime syndicate together, which I suppose means we've set up a household."
"Ah," Boba relaxed, and come to her side, "By Concord Dawn's standards too, although I haven't made you a garment yet."
"A garment?"
"It's traditional that potential spouses present one another with a shirt or tunic; given its importance to me, I consider getting my armor back counting on your side."
"You got the material to cover my mechanisms," Fennec lightly patted her abdomen, "I count that."
"I'll still make something better," Boba promised, and Fennec lightly scoffed.
"So we're settled then," Fennec pronounced in all seriousness, "We Have Accidentally Entered A Marriage."
They managed to be serious for a moment, then burst out in laughter.
"Pretty sure you could do better," Boba wiped away mirthful tears.
"Of course, I could," Fennec smirked, "but I like who've I gotten and life will never be never dull."
Boba rolled his eyes, and but still smiled.
And rendered Fennec, as well as the rest of his 'court', speechless a few months later when he presented her with a gorgeously and intricately hand embroidered tunic.
"What can I say," Boba shrugged, "I'm a man of many talents."
Author's note: I admit I'm fond of head-cannoning Boba being a good cook and being very competent at creative endeavors because it's part of Concord Dawn's culture and Jango made damn well sure Boba knew that culture even if Boba's a little rusty on Mandalorian culture. And I'm totally making up Concord Dawn culture.
