The air was chilly, thankful that she had grabbed her coat, she climbed the final step on the ladder. Once at the top, she looked towards the skyline. It took her breath away, she just spent two weeks in Ohio where it's nothing but flat land, trees and corn. Here, the massive buildings hugging each other as they varied in stature, littered across the flat plane. She was dragged from her lapse by a pair of strong arms wrapping around her midriff, a head placed at the top of her head.
"Beginnin' to wonder if Mikey kidnapped ya."
She breathed a contented sigh, "Ape stopped me in the hallway. She said she's gonna distract the others as long as she can."
"Excuse?" He spoke, the feel of his strong jaw moving atop her head sent a shiver down her spine.
"I told her that I was needing a breather."
"Yeah," was all he said as he let her go, motioning for her to follow. They stood in front of a covered bench, by the looks of it, he had already started a small fire and even brought a blanket. Smiling, she sat beside him, head laying against his bicep, her hands grasping his arm as he placed the blanket over her legs.
The silence was comforting. Finally warmed by the fire, mind racing with questions, she broke the silence.
"Why didn't you text or call me much?"
She felt him tense beside her, looking up, he was watching the fire intently.
"thought ya needed your space…"
"Ya…but not from you…" She trailed off, not wanting to seem desperate, but he was her best friend. She deserved the right to miss him and she expected the same from him. But, during her time away, she knew she wanted more than to just be his friend.
After a few breaths, he nudged her gently. Getting the hint, she lifted her head, locking eyes. Golden amber irises, dancing, as if on fire.
"Cass…I…" he sighed, "there's something I gotta tell ya…" Closing his eyes, only briefly, but enough for her confidence to falter. He broke the silence.
"Dammit, I can't do this." He stood abruptly, the blanket falling away, the brisk air seeping back in. He paced in front of the fire, seeming deep in thought. She wanted to ask, "can't do what?" But she knew and understood now was not the time. So, she chose to sit patiently, watching the flames dance, his bulky frame pacing back and forth, shadows dancing along the edge of the blanket.
Her mind was racing, she could feel herself backtracking, questioning everything. She knew what her feelings were but she assumed he may feel the same. But now, watching him pace back and forth, his fists flexing, grunts and growls leaving his body. She wasn't so sure anymore. In her vulnerable state of emotions, did she imagine the looks he gave her? Had she imagined how their hugs felt different? She felt herself spiraling, she needed to get out of her head. If she didn't she knew her emotions would explode and the delicate space between her and Raphael could be in trouble. She didn't want him to see her crying (again) knowing he doesn't do well with handling others emotions, let alone his own at times.
Cassidy stood, not willing to take the impending rejection sitting, she was ready to accept that he simply wasn't ready to tell her whatever it was that plagued his mind. She would do anything in her power to keep her friend.
"Raph it's okay," you're my best friend. The last bit was a thought she wasn't sure if he would take well. She gently placed her hand on the fold of his elbow, she could faintly feel his pulse. Smiling up at him, hoping her bright hazel eyes didn't give her away. She felt the cold sting of the night air against her hot face, tears tingling in the corners of her eyes. If questioned, she would blame it on the chill.
"S'not O.K. Cass," he said gruffly, towering over her five foot four frame, knowing he could crush her in a second but knew the big brute would never lay a hand on her. He leaned down closer, being a whole foot taller, her breath caught in her throat.
"Cass…you're," he hesitated, grabbing ahold of her shoulders, she could feel his fingers flexing, sending shivers up and down her spine. He wouldn't make eye contact, his head downcast, looking at the cobblestone roof. This wouldn't do. She didn't like to see him this way. It was as if she could see the gears working in his head, manipulating his imagination; probably coming up with a million bad scenarios.
His hold loosened on her shoulders with a sigh, but still held her gently. Cassidy decided to take the opportunity and placed her hand against his cheek, bringing him back to look at her. She never noticed how small her hand looked like against him, he was so large, yet seemed so small at that moment.
"You're my best friend. I love your family, but right now…" wanting to look at the ground, his intense amber eyes seeing straight through her. Her eyes never left him, never faltered as she took a deep breath, "I only want to be here… with you." It was the truth, not the whole truth. She didn't want to scare him with her feelings if she was certain that he didn't even know his own. She felt him stiffen against her hand, fingers flexing over her shoulders again.
Her hand fell from his cheek, fingers gliding down against his throat, her eyes followed the path her hand created along his body. Traveling past his throat, digging below the lip of his plastron and stopping to rest against the top of his plastron. He didn't say a word, if she wasn't touching him, she wouldn't have known he was even on the roof with her. Looking back up, he had an unreadable expression, one that could rival Leo's stoic self. Cass let out a shaky breath before she continued.
"Come on big guy," patting his chest twice, "it's getting colder and your family probably noticed we're gone."
Breaking eye contact, she turned to grab the blanket from the ground when she felt a tug at her elbow. She turned, startled because of his sudden close proximity. The blanket tangled at her feet as she took a step back, she felt her body fall back and closed her eyes to prepare for impact. In an instant, an armed laced around her waist as a shadow wast over her pear shaped frame. Her cheeks burned as a puffed breath created small clouds around her.
They locked eyes, the flames felt like they became hotter.
"Fuck it" was all she heard before she felt his hand snake to the base of my skull. She felt the air becoming thick, her body warming even more, butterflies fluttering in her gut, traveling lower and lower. Her eyes slid close as a soft pair of lips pushed against hers. Finally, Her mind went blank, he pulled away quickly and her eyes burst open, scared that she did something wrong.
Once their eyes locked again, it was all over. She felt him again, adding a little more pressure, gently moving head to the side to better accommodate their differences. A moan passed her lips god, I've wanted this. The sound alone seemed to be exactly what he needed. Pulling her closer, the kiss depended, her hands glided up his plastron until they wrapped around his neck. Her tongue lightly traced his bottom lip. Fuck, he tasted of cinnamon and sin. The heat intensified, finding the right angle, their lips battled for dominance. The feel of his tongue licking her bottom lip caused her to moan again. Surging forward, she sucked his bottom lip between her teeth, emitting a growl from the large terrapin. She could feel his confidence growing as his hand left her crown to travel down her sides, landing on her flared hips. He dipped, large hands brushed past her ass before gripping the back of her thighs. He hoisted her up as if she weighed nothing, her core pressed tighter against his waist, her legs spread wide, crushing herself as close as she could. Her arms tightened around his neck, gripping the mask tails she found there for more leverage. A deep, territorial sound left his body which only melted her even further. Their breaths escaped in quick shallow breaths, their overzealous competitive natures battled against each other.
She gasped as something cool and rough pressed against her back, breaking for a split second for a much needed breath. She realized that her jacket and shirt shifted so her bare back pressed against the brick of the roof's exit door.
Their breaths mingled, a moan left as she returned and nipped at his bottom lip, begging for reentry. He let out a deep guttural groan and she followed with a breathy moan as his hips pushed into her core. One of his three-pronged hands left her thigh to tangle in her long, brown hair, cradling her head against the rough brick. She had a death grip around one of his mask tails as the other kneaded the mask against the top of his skull, pressing her chest into him. She needed to be closer, connect with him in every way possible. It has been too long of pent up sexual tension. What better time than the present to reward themselves? They've grown so much in these past months. Each couldn't fathom being separated, each only wanting to meet the other with a lustrous ferocity. They wanted to set the city on fire.
The only thing that was in Cassidy's mind at that moment was more. She wanted more, more mooorree. She needed to be closer. Needed friction. It was a never-ending mantra in her head. She adjusted her grip on his mask tails, twisting to wrap them around her fists, forcing him closer, gaining more support. His head dipped low, leaving her lips for air before latching onto her pulse point just below her ear. She tossed her head to the side to grant him more access, his large tongue trailed down, leavings nips and small bites until he nibbled at her exposed collarbone.
"Raph," her own guttural sound escaped as he continued to nip along her sensitive flesh. He took a sharp intake of breath as hips thrust forward to meet her wet core. He did it again as another deep sound resounded from him and vibrated against her shamelessly.
"Uhn, Cass -" She was a blubbering mess at the sound of her name, she wanted to hear it again. She was lost in the sensations of him. His breath. His skin. His size. His strength. Everything. They were willingly losing themselves in the other, so much so that they didn't notice that they were no longer alone.
"Hey gu….oh!" She felt Raph stiffen, unlatching from her throat as she froze. Her eyes shot open, feeling like saucers. Mikey.
Raph tensed, untangling her legs from his waist, setting her back down onto the cobblestone roof. He turned, Mikey was standing by the edge. He must've gone through the window. At that exact moment, Cassidy felt her phone vibrate in her pocket.
April: "MIKEY!"
Cass: "Too late," she texted back quickly. Not letting her eyes off the two brothers. Raph was tense and his face was hard while poor Mikey had a shocked expression and was left speechless at the edge of the roof. His hands were raised up in surrender, not blinking as Raphael stared hard at him, never moving from Cassidy's side.
"What?" Raph said in a cool and controlled tone. It shocked both myself and Mikey.
"Uh…wow. Nothin' man — I'm happy for you guys!…Leo wanted to know where ya went and Casey mentioned something about the roof…" he trailed off, still in the same position as before.
Raph did nothing, just stood beside me, arms crossed and uncharacteristically calm. Cassidy believed that this put Mikey even more on edge because his brother wasn't blowing up on him like he anticipated. As soon as Mikey stepped over the edge of the roof and saw the precarious situation his brother was in, it left him utterly speechless.
"Hey Mikey…could you, um…could you not tell anyone, please?" Cass asked, making eye contact with Mikey. She felt as if her face was permanently stained red from the flame that Raphael ignited within her. She's always been partial to the cold but if that's what it felt like to be on fire, she knew she'd grow to love the heat.
"Lips are sealed babe!" He saluted and dipped back over the edge to go back inside before Raphael chased him for what he just called Cassidy.
"You know that won't last long." Raph started uncrossing his arms and nudging her side.
"I know, but I just… I want to know what weare before he gets a chance to tell everyone." She said matter of factly. Turning to look at him, waiting to see if he'd say anything. Despite what they just did, she needed to hear him say what he wanted. She needed to hear it from him, she knew what she wanted.
Staring back, he simply said, "Cass…I wanna be with you." He was serious, his biceps flexing as his fists fidgeted at his sides.
"I'm giving up this fight I've had with myself. You are what I want. Always have been. I'm yours." He finished, she's never heard him be so direct about his feelings before, he continued;
"I know I can't take you on a real date…you got options. But for me…" Her heart exploded. A man, usually of few words, was laying it all out in the open. She was at a loss of words, fireworks went off in her belly and her heart constricted as she heard the words she's been wanting to hear for months. She's wanted this for so long, she's not sure what to say. Instead, she takes a page from his book. Cassidy wraps her hand around his index, her other resting on his cheek, he relaxed against her touch.
"Raph, you drive me crazy. You push every one of my buttons - " Eyeing her then, a slight smirk graced the edge of his lips as he remembered her newest nickname. "- You are hot headed, inpatient, kind, loving and extremely attractive. Heh, you could've had me months ago. I'm yours, if you'll still have me." She stated, finally, feeling as though a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders. Slightly embarrassed with her long winded explanation but she didn't want to leave any room for him to question this new found relationship or her intentions. He needed to know that he's all she's thought about for months and she had zero doubts or uncertainties pertaining to wanting to be with him. The air around her felt cleaner, she could breathe deeper and with certainty now. She grabbed the leather straps that crossed his chest and rocked onto her tip-toes. She wanted to seal this new progress with a kiss. Her eyes fluttering shut, she felt him bow to close the distance with a small peck. She loved the feel of his wide smile against her lips, she let out a small laugh as their kiss deepened ever so slightly before he broke away too soon.
"Ya think I'm sexy?" He grinned, his arms wrapped around her, dipping her low, having full control over her body in that moment.
"Yes," she breathed, no trace of hesitancy in her voice, he fell even harder. He found her lips again before trailing those lips down her neck, so deliciously exposed in this position. His mind was cooking up all of the different positions he could put her in. Have her completely at his mercy. He groaned at the thought, putting her back on solid ground, they needed to get back before 'ol fearless came lookin'.
"Let's go party!" He smiled, growling deep into her ear as he scooped her up, carrying them down and back into April's apartment.
