Chp. 21: Revelations

City of Mistral

Team JNPR, Ruby, Jacob, Alex, Qrow, and Hayashi are all riding on a UH-X Helicopter to the city of Mistral.

"So Hayashi, why are you joining us?" Pyrrha asked.

"Other than to help you all with your mission, the city of Mistral's lower classes are something that the SDF are currently investigating due to thieves, assassins, crime syndicates, corrupt Huntsmen, etcetera," Hayashi explained.

"In other words, finding a way to bring law and order into Mistral," Qrow said as he drank from his flask.

"Exactly," Hayashi said.

"So any ideas on what we should do after we get to Mistral?" Ren asked.

"I'm not sure right now. I need time to plan on what to say to Leo without giving information about the Spring maiden," Qrow said.

"Actually... maybe we should tell Professor Lionheart about the Spring Maiden," Jacob said.

Everyone turned to Jacob with a raised eyebrow.

"Kid, what are you talking about, exactly?" Qrow asked.

"I'm saying we should tell Professor Lionheart Raven's location and say that she has the Spring Maiden," Jacob said.

"Why exactly?" Jaune asked.

"Think about it for a minute. We tell him what I had just said without telling him Raven is the Spring Maiden, he tells Salem this so Cinder will go after the Spring Maiden. That way, we can all get the drop on her," Jacob explained.

"Are you saying that we use Raven and her tribe as live bait in order to capture Cinder?" Alex asked.

"Doing that will give us an advantage," Jacob said.

"Yeah, he's right. We get Raven and we get Cinder and the other half of Amber's Fall Maiden powers," Ruby said.

"You know, now that I think about it, that could work. We can just have the SDF help us capture them instead of the Huntsmen in Mistral," Alex said.

"Yeah, it's a win-win for us," Ruby said.

"Alright, we are going with Jacob's plan tomorrow," Alex said.

Hey, guys look. We're here," Nora said.

They all looked out the windows and saw a large city built on two mountains. Various buildings cover the mountains from the summits to the foothills. Haven Academy lies at the top of the city spanning across the peaks of both mountains, which themselves are part of a wider mountain range. Stone stairways act as the main routes in the city.

"Now that is a beautiful city," Hayashi said.

"So tomorrow, we put this plan into action," Alex said.

Schnee Manor, Atlas

Weiss' Room

Meanwhile back in Schnee Manor, it was still nighttime and Weiss sits on her bed in her room with her head bowed and her hands folded in her lap. Jacques paces in front of her.

"Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable," Jacques said.

He suddenly stops, then turns and points at her.

"Do you have any idea what your stunt cost us?" he asked.

Weiss tries to speak but her father cuts her off.

"And don't think I'm just talking about Lien here! Our reputation! Our... our..."

Jacques sighs angrily and holds his head, unable to come up with the words to finish expressing the gravity of her mistake. Weiss waits for a moment before speaking.

"I want to leave."

"I beg your pardon?" he asked.

"I said I want to leave. I don't want to stay here anymore. I don't want to stay in Atlas anymore!" Weiss shouted.

"Young lady, I don't give a damn about what you want! This isn't about you. This is about the Schnee family name and your apparent insistence on dragging it through the mud!" Jacques shouted.

Weiss stood up from her bed and walked up to her father.

"I have done nothing but fight to uphold the honor of my family name, a name that you married into!" she yelled.

Jacques raised his hand to slap Weiss, but she quickly grabs his arm and forces it away. Weiss glares at his father as he looks right back at her, unrepentant.

"This behavior of yours is incredibly disappointing. You couldn't possibly understand the lengths I've gone to in order to keep this family where it is," Jaques said, suddenly sounding calm yet intimidating. "You think running off like your sister is going to make the Schnee name stronger? You're wrong. Siding with her only divides us.

"I'm not siding with anyone. I'm doing what I feel is right, and that does not include wasting my time up here with these clueless people in Atlas. The Schnee family legacy isn't yours to leave. It's mine, and I'll do it as a Huntress," Weiss ranted as Jacques walks away, rolling his eyes.

Jacques stops and slowly turns to face her again. As he speaks, he moves to stand in front of his daughter, peering down upon her.

"No... you won't. You're not leaving Atlas. You're not to leave the manor grounds unless I specifically allow it. You are going to remain here, out of sight and out of trouble, until you and I come to an agreement on your future," he said.

Weiss knew that Jacques was going to try to force her to stay. She also knew that her title as heiress will be passed on to Whitley.

"Your presupposition that you can simply have whatever it is you want is a clear sign of our failure as parents. But from now on, I'll be giving you the full attention you require, starting by keeping you where I can see you," Jacques said as he turned once more and walked away.

"You can't just keep me from leaving! Besides Professor Ozpin will demand for my return to Beacon!" Weiss shouted.

Again, he stops and turns to look at her.

"I can, and the staff here will make sure of it," Jacques said.

"So now I'm just your prisoner?!" she yelled.

"You are my daughter. You're a child, and children are grounded when they misbehave," he said.

He walks away, and this time, he continues walking even while his daughter speaks.

"This is only going to make things worse, Father. People will ask questions! They'll want to know why the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company is suddenly nowhere to be found!"

Her father stops in front of the door and faces her.

"Which is why you are no longer the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company," Jacques said.

Weiss knew that was coming due to watching Volume 4. Her father spoke once more.

"Clearly, the trauma you endured at the battle at Beacon was too much for you. Which is why you've generously revoked your claim to the company and its earnings and passed it on to your brother Whitley."

Weiss thought about her title, then realized that to her it no longer mattered. She has friends to back her up and is willing to help her. She looked back to Jacques as he was about to leave before speaking.

"Fine."

Jacques suddenly stops in his tracks, not expecting this reaction from her daughter. He turns to face her.

"Fine?" he asked.

"Fine, as in, good. Go ahead. Give the title to that little kiss-up you call a son. I'm glad you're giving it to him," Weiss said, glaring at her father.

"And why is that? Jacques asked, walking up to Weiss.

"Because it doesn't matter. I realize that I don't need a stupid title to become a Huntress. I don't need to be an heiress to have friends. And most importantly of all, I don't need you," Weiss said as she walks away to the door.

"And where do you think you're going, young lady?!" Jacques shouted.

"Like I said before. I want to leave. And that is exactly what I'm going to do," Weiss said as she opens the door.

"And there is one more thing that I wish to say to you," she said.

"And what pray tell would that be?" Jacques asked, glaring at her.

"Fuck you, Jacques," Weiss said, flipping him off as she then walks out.

Whitley was waiting out in the hall and clearly having been eavesdropping.

"Why dear sister, what has-" Whitley was cut off as Weiss shoves him aside.

"Fuck off, Shitley!" she yelled walking away.

Weiss walks up the hall to the door as Jacques walks out of Weiss' room, walking towards her with a furious expression. Weiss opened the door and behind it was Ricky.

"Weiss, what's going on?" Ricky asked.

"None of your concern, boy!" Jacques shouted as he grabbed Weiss' arm.

"Hey, hey, hey, cool it. What's going on here?" Ricky asked as he stepped in between the two Schnees.

"I'm leaving and is forcing me to stay," Weiss said.

"First of all, how dare you speak to me that way back there?! Second, I've forbidden you to leave this manor!" Jacques shouted, pointing to Weiss.

"Hold up. Hold up. First up, Weiss needs to go back to Beacon Academy. Second, she is old enough to make her own decisions freely," Ricky said. "What gives you the right to say what she can and cannot do?"

"I am her father and she is the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company!" Jacques said.

"No I'm not! You revoke that title away from me and pass it on to Whitley earlier, you lying sack of shit!" Weiss shouted.

Ricky widened his eyes at Weiss, not expecting her to cuss at her father, though he couldn't blame her. Whitley walks up next to his father, glaring at Weiss.

"You will watch that mouth of yours, young lady! And you will apologize to me and your brother this instant!" Jacques yelled.

"Why should I?! You're always unapologetic to everyone around you and always think about yourself and nobody else! And Whitley is just kissing up to you so he can avoid what Mother, Winter, and I are always going through with you!" Weiss yelled back.

"I have not the foggiest idea what you are talking about. I'm just well behaved, unlike you," Whitley said.

"You and I both know that you are just afraid of Father just as much as Mother is and you're just a lonely little bastard!" Weiss shouted.

All three Schnees argued amongst each other as Ricky tried to get their attention.

"Guys?"

The three family members ignored Ricky and kept arguing.

"Can every-"

Still the Schnees argued to each other. Ricky by this point has had enough.

"CAN EVERYBODY JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP FOR A MINUTE?! CAN EVERYBODY SHUT THE FUCK UP?! GODDAMMIT!"

Weiss, Jacques, and Whitley all stopped arguing and paid attention to Ricky.

"Now you said that Weiss is the heiress to the SDC, but she said that she isn't anymore and your son is. Is she the heiress or not?" Ricky asked.

A long pause had passed and Jacques had not given his answer.

"I'll take that as a no," Ricky said before turning to Weiss. "And do you want to leave?"

"Yes," Weiss bluntly answered.

"Alright then let's go," Ricky said.

Just when Weiss and Ricky were about to walk out the door, Jacques grabs on to Weiss' shoulder.

"She is not going anywhere!" he shouted.

"Get your hands off her!" Ricky shouted as he jerks Jacques hand away from Weiss.

"How dare you?! This is none of your concern, young man!" Jacques shouted, poking him.

"Touch me again, bro! See what happens next!" Ricky said, slapping his hand away.

"You boy, are going to-"

Just as Jacques grabs Ricky's arm, Ricky grabs hold of Jacques, sweeps his foot at the CEO's feet, and then slams him to the floor.

"Father!" Whitley said.

"Try that again, and I'll hall your ass straight to jail!" Ricky yelled. "Let's go, Weiss."

Weiss and Ricky walk out the door as Whitley help his father off the floor.

A few minutes later, Weiss and Ricky both got into a black hover car. As the car starts to drive away, Ricky looks towards Weiss who is sitting next to him with her head down.

"Weiss... are you... okay?" Ricky asked.

Weiss suddenly hugs Ricky as tears roll down her cheeks.

"Thanks for standing up for me," Weiss said then kisses his cheek.

Ricky was surprised by the sudden actions Weiss had made. He wraps his arm around her in comfort.

"You're welcome," Ricky said.

Feldspar, Vacuo

May, 18, 2020

Meanwhile in Feldspar, it was morning and the sun was starting to raise. Team CFVY, Kelly, Kendra, and the Caspians are all back in the settlement with Carmine and Bertilak both sitting on the ground, tied up. They are all talking with Slate, explaining what was going on.

"So it was August's semblance that was the cause of all the mood bombs and has no control over it and Edward was using his semblance to block out his grandson's semblance?" Slate asked.

"Yep," Coco answered.

"And Bertilak and Carmine were hired by a group that wants to kidnap people with powerful semblances for their own malicious goals?" Slate asked.

"Yeah, that's right," Kendra said.

"So what now?" Slate asked.

"Me and Grandpa will be sent to Oscuro Academy so I can learn to control my semblance," Gus said.

"And we'll have Bertilak and Carmine locked up for attempted kidnapping and attempted murder," Kendra said.

"Well at least now this whole madness here will come to an end and the Grimm will stop coming," Slate said.

Everyone then suddenly heard the sound of chuffing. They all turned to see two AS532 Cougar Helicopters flying towards the settlement.

"What are those?" Edward asked.

"Could that be the unknown military I've heard about?" Slate asked.

The helicopters started to land outside the settlement. Ten soldiers from each helicopter stepped out and ran into the settlement. Four of the soldiers came up to Carmine and Bertilak and started to restrain them and escort them to one of the helicopters. As Slate and the Caspians walked up to the soldiers to question them, two women approached the group, one of them was Cassandra.

The second woman wore a pair of black boots, a pair of olive green pants, a buttoned trench coat that shares the same color with her pants and a white undershirt that was unbuttoned at the collar. She has green eyes and her hair is red and curly and wears a green beret on her head.

"Sergeant Rogers," Velvet said.

"Howdy kids. Glad to see you all safe," Cassandra said.

"Who's that standing next to you?" Kelly asked.

"Bonjour (Hello). I am Commandant Lydia Beaulne and we are the French Foreign Legion," the woman now known as Lydia said.

"Hey, I like your outfit, Miss," Coco said, lowering her sunglasses.

"Thank you. Since I'm a Huntress I thought I dress for the part," Lydia said.

"By dressing in a woman's World War II uniform?" Kendra asked.

"Many of us who became Huntsmen and Huntresses wanted to honor past soldiers and warriors by dressing up as you say, 'old school'" Lydia replied.

"Right now we should focus on getting the Caspians to Oscuro and then get back to Shade," Cassandra said.

"Then let's go get them and go," Yatsuhashi said.

The group then walked off to get the Caspians.

Kuo Kuana, Menagerie

Belladonna Residence

Meanwhile in the Belladonna household, the sun was starting to rise and Blake, Yang, Sun, Allen, Rebecca, Ghira, Kali, and Alex looked through Ilia's scroll they took from last night.

"Looks like you were right. Adam is planning to overthrow the leader of the White Fang," Ghira said.

"And he is going to have you and your wife killed just to remind you again," Alex said.

"So what now?" Sun asked.

"Our allies are already making plans against Adam. For now, we wait for the British Armed Forces to show up to deal with the White Fang here. Until then, we get ready for their arrival in s few days," Alex explained.

"I'll prepare to address their arrival so nobody here will be fearful of them when they arrive," Ghira said.

"The last thing we need is Grimm showing up," Blake said.
