Chapter 126 Elite Four: Heather

Delia is now back Kanto, it has been almost a year since she goes back, but just as she is about to step into the doorway, they are surprised to see the former travel companions and Professor Oak waiting for them.

Delia: What is the meaning of this?

Professor Oak: Delia, you're finally back. Where have you been this whole time?

Delia: I have been the League Manager of the Reborn League since the last one died.

Misty: Does that mean Ash is in the Reborn Region?

Delia: (Glares) And why do you care about this? You all try to force him to give up his dream.

The former traitors are sad as they know what she implies, and they are actually feeling guilty.

Professor Oak: Delia, the truth is, we have been sorry for what we were thinking, we're here just because we wanted to see if Ash would return to his own house so we could apologize.

Delia: Ash is not returning to Kanto, because he has the Reborn League Challenge to go. From what I've heard, he is challenging the Elite Four.

Max: You mean Ash has won all those hard Gyms in the Reborn Region? He get all 18 badges?

Delia: Too bad you weren't able to see what's going on. Besides, Ash is not the same Ash you knew. Ever since what happened when he stayed there, he has completely changed a person. If that's what you want to know, then please excuse me since I'm not here for a long stay. I have to go back to Reborn so that I can do the documents with Ash's Elite Four battle.

Then Delia walks into the house without seeing them, and the others can only frown as they can't believe what happened to Ash, but they aren't going to give up just yet, and they decide to call the other League Champions and Professors to tell them about the news.

Fortunately, they get to the conference hall so that they can see Ash's battle against the Elite Four of Reborn, since the League Challenges are usually broadcast wide to the whole world.

Lance: So Ash is now challenging the Reborn League.

Cynthia: I heard that the Champion has changed because the last one was dead. Though I wonder if Ash can beat this league as well.

Goodshow: He can do it, this child is special, and he has to do it since he is one of the people who stopped Team Meteor according to the League there.

The others can only watch as they hope Ash can win the whole League.

When Ash, Serena, and Lillie enter the League Building

Lillie: (Notices Ash's concern) Feeling nervous?

Ash: Yeah...I have to win this, not just for everyone, but for myself as well. I have to defeat Lin so she won't be terrorizing the others.

Serena: If anyone has a chance to beat her, it should be you. We're going to cheer you on.

After walking through the gates that are like the Badge Inspection gates, the three of them walk towards the first room, which is filled with cliffs and rocks, and from above, Heather flies down with her Salamence.

Heather: HEY! I was wondering when you were gonna show up already. Geez! You have any idea how long I've been waiting up here? I'll give you a hint- it's almost forever. Anna said I had to be here for something "soon" but then it still took so long!

Ash: Sorry, Team Meteor has tried to stop us from coming here because of Lin.

Heather: Anyway. Uh... To tell the truth, there's something I've been wanting to say to you. I know I've been, well, kind of a brat. But even despite that, you were there to help out in Ametrine, And even though I didn't really understand what was going on at the time, you were there at the doctor's place too... You and Shelly have always done your best for me, even though I never deserved it. I'm not really used to people being nice to me. I mean, you saw what my dad was like. And I ended up finding an old journal of his. I guess in his own weird, roundabout way he was just trying to look out for me. It's a lot to take in, but I think I understand. Even if I don't really know... how to handle it?

Ash: You're really sounding like Shelly, you know.

Heather: The point is, okay...?! Thank you! For... trying to help me even though I... Uh, well, whatever! You don't care about all that, right!? None of that matters; you're here to fight! But if you underestimate me now, you'll be blown away! So let's not waste another minute. Salamence, it's take-off time!

The first Pokemon that Heather sends out is Crobat, Ash notices that it is the same Crobat that Corey had, and he realizes that of all the Corey's Pokemon, he hasn't found Crobat. Ash decides to go with Lucario first, and then they start to battle.

Crobat goes for Tailwind, which causes the Speed Stats to raise. Ash has Lucario go for Stone Edge, with the field strengthening the attack, but Crobat dodges the attack and goes for U-turn, dealing some damage and switching out to Nidoking.

Lillie: So Heather is a Flying and Poison Specialist...

Serena: Nidoking looks powerful...

Nidoking goes for Thunder, because of the open air, the attack deals more damage to Lucario, and also causes Lucario to get Paralyzed. And in the end, Lucario is defeated by Earth Power.

Ash: Heather sure is strong...but I can still do this. Garchomp! You're up next!

Garchomp appears as it is the second Pokemon, and Heather has Nidoking use Sludge Wave, but Garchomp dodges the attack and lands Earthquake, knocking the Nidoking out of the battle.

Lillie: That's one down for Heather as well.

Heather's third Pokemon is Archeops, and Ash has Garchomp use Iron Head on the Rock Type Pokemon, but Archeops goes for Acrobatics, with the strong air, it deals a lot of damage. Heather has Archeops go for Tailwind, and Ash decides to go for Dragon Rush, but Archops goes for Arcobatics to let both of them clash with each other. In the end, Garchomp gets knocked back to the ground, and Arcehops goes for Earthquake to add more damage.

Garchomp manages to get back up and goes for Draco Meteor, and it continues to hit Archeops even though it is trying to dodge. Heather decides to switch out to Gyarados, using Waterfall to knock the Garchomp out.

Ash: I'm sorry, Garchomp.

Then Ash decides to go with Pikachu, and Heather knows how strong Pikachu is and switches back to Archeops, and it goes for Earthquake to deal a lot of damage to Pikachu, but Pikachu uses Iron Tail to slam the Pokemon. Then they all go for Stone Edge and Thunder, but both attacks are dodged and none of them are backing down.

Heather switches into Gengar next, and it goes for Sludge Bomb, causing Pikachu to get poisoned and eventually knocked out by the status effect.

Heather: What's wrong? Giving up already?

Ash: Like I would give up! I admit, you're really strong, Heather. But now it is the real deal.

The fourth Pokemon for Ash is Sceptile, and Ash decides to press the Key Stone to have it Mega Evolve. Heather decides to go back with Crobat again and has it use Brave Bird, but Sceptile dodges the attack and uses Dragon Dance, raising the stats, and then it goes for Rock Slide to make Crobat flinch, and defeating it with Dragon Pulse.

Heather sends back Archeops to battle, and he has Archeops goes for Acrobatics, but Sceptile uses Detect to block the attack, and it goes for Iron Tail, knocking the Archeops down.

Heather: Now I should get serious as well! (Sends out Gyarados and does the Z Move) Use Supersonic Skystrike!

Gyarados fly into the air and strike on Sceptile, causing it to return to its normal form and faints.

Ash: At least your efforts are not in vain. (Sends out Charizard)

Heather decides to continue with Gyarados since Charizard is a Fire Type, and it goes for Waterfall to deal a lot of damage to Charizard. Charizard also goes for Dragon Tail, knocking the Gyarados down to the ground.

Ash: Let's do this, Charizard! (Does the Z Move) Gigavolt Havoc!

Charizard roars and it creates the giant electric attack on Gyarados, causing it to get knocked out in the end. Heather now has two more Pokemon left, and she goes for Gengar.

Heather: Gengar, use Thunder!

The open air causes Gengar's attack to hit Charizard, and in the end, it also faints.

Serena: Oh no...Ash has only one Pokemon left...

Lillie: Ash can win this, I know he can.

And Ash's final Pokemon is Greninja, and it goes for Night Slash, dodging the Thunder attack and defeating the Ghost Type Pokemon.

Heather: I have sky-high power! I won't back down! (Sends out Salamence)

As the last Pokemon appears, Ash knows that it is going to be the Salamence.

Serena: To be able to train a Salamence like that...she really is strong.

Lillie: But Ash can win this battle.

Heather goes for Mega Evolution on Salamence, and Ash goes for Bond Phenomenon. Salamence goes for Return, with the open-air strengthened attack, but Greninja manages to dodge the attack and goes for Ice Beam, which deals a lot of damage. Then Heather has Salamence go for Earthquake, and the shaking causes Greninja to take damage, also inflicting to Ash.

Ash: This is nothing. Let's finish this! Water Shuriken and Ice Beam!

Heather is confused at what Ash is doing, but the attack made Ice Shurikens and it continuously hit Salamence, eventually, it is down and fainted.

Heather: No! No! Nonononononono! (Angry at her loss) Grrrrrr... Well, I guess this kind of thing is expected from YOU. Anyway, don't think you've won yet! I'm just first in line, and you'll have to take us all down!

Ash: No problem, Heather. And you really did give me a good challenge. I like it.

Heather: Oh... Also, I guess... You might need this soon. So you can borrow it, okay?

Then Heather gives Ash the Ruby Ring, much to his surprise.

Heather: But that means I want it back! You'd better not lose it, or I'll actually beat you up!

Ash: Of course, I won't.

After Heather leaves with her Salamence, the stairway appears and Ash knows that he continues further into the hall. But he looks at the Ruby Ring, and he is surprised to be received the gift.

Serena: So that's the Ruby Ring...it is beautiful...

Ash: Indeed. This Ruby Ring causes us a lot of trouble..., especially what happened in Ametrine...But now I've won against Heather, that means three more and I'll get to face Lin.

Serena and Lillie nod as they follow Ash as they climb up the stairs, so as to see who the next Elite Four member is.

And here is a new chapter, and this is the first Elite Four battle against Heather, and as you can see, all of her team is Level 100, and they are hard to beat because of the field effects and their move powers. Also, for beating each Elite Four member, you'll get one of the Keys of the gate as a reward. Like Heather is the Ruby Ring. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be the second Elite Four member, you can guess who it is.
