Harry woke up early this morning and went through his daily routine. It was your standard get up shower, brush your teeth, eat, then get dressed. A few people had given him odd looks for how he dressed. Personally, he doesn't see what's wrong with dressing in a leather jacket, gray boot cut jeans that were faded in the knees, and black biker didn't matter however, he liked how he dressed and that's all that really mattered.
After about a year of being with Kurai Harry noticed he occasionally brought him things other than books. Harry had seen many beautiful priceless pieces of jewelry. Massive emerald pendants whose design pointed to the Incans of South America. Mesmerizing ruby earrings from southeast Asia. Many of which he had pawned off or donated for a price to museums. He saved that money to pay for his own clothes and food. There were a few items he kept for himself. Other were kept at Kurai's insisted prodding to wear said items. They were three rings. The first ring contained a purple diamond. The second one contained a sapphire whose silver band was engraved with a crosshatching pattern. The third held a red diamond, also known as blood diamonds. The band had several symbols on it that he couldn't quite make out. He wore the sapphire on his left index finger and the purple and red diamonds on his right index and right ring finger respectively. Once Harry was dressed and ready, he shrunk his trunk down and put it in his pocket.
He took out his wand out and summoned the knight bus headed to the Leaky Cauldron. Harry was set to meet Daphne there and from then they would meet up with Susan and Nymphadora at the campgrounds. He arrived at the Leaky Cauldron precisely at 6:30am. Normally the girls are always giving him shit about constantly being late to everything. So, for once he decided to surprise them and show up extra early. Harry picked a seat off to the side and out of the way but still in view of the floo so he'd see Daphne upon her arrival. In his rush to leave early he left behind his current reading material, so with nothing to occupy his mind he slowly drifted off to sleep. Suddenly Harry found himself rudely awakened, after checking the time he figured that roughly 25 minutes have passed. He sat up to find himself on the ground next to the chair he was using and upon looking up he saw Daphne in the next chair looking over with satisfaction in her eyes and a smug smirk upon her lips. With a completely over exaggerated sigh he stood up and dusted his jacket off. He then retook his seat and reached his hand out to Daphne. Naturally she's wary of retribution, and she would be right. After tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear he flicked her in the forehead relatively hard leaving a bright red mark upon contact. She let out a small yelp of pain and surprise, and then preceded to pout at him for the next 5 minutes until it was time to leave.
They activated their portkey exactly at 7:00. Upon landing Daphne lost her footing and decided that if she was going down it would only be fair that Harry accompanies her in such an endeavor. After getting up and dusting off for the second time he turned to help Daphne to her feet. Once she dusted herself off, she turned to him, and he flicked her in the forehead again. There was no yelp or cry, just an extreme pout pointed in his direction. After Harry strategically avoided her gaze to narrowly escaping falling prey to her trap. It wasn't anything bad as she tended to use hugs as a form of repayment. His only problem is that despite his aversion to any sort of physical contact, she doesn't know when to let go. Given the chance he would be stuck with her as a limpet for the next 10 minutes. Say what you will about her looks and often cold attitude, but the girl was undeniably the biggest hugger he knew. Maybe if he ever got over his dislike of touch, he could fully enjoy the pleasant feel of her rather large breasts that squish nicely against him. Then again, he knew that was just his teenage hormones talking, but his rational brain never discarded the possibility. A short walk they came upon the campground already packed with tents. Now it was just a matter of finding Susan and Nymphadora amongst the crowd.
It took Daphne and Harry roughly 30 minutes before they found Susan and Nymphadora wandering around some of the food stalls. Before Daphne could call out to them or anything he put a hand on her shoulder. Harry was bored and wanted so amusement. Quickly slipping his wand in hand he racked his mind for the perfect spell. In the end he went with an ancient static electricity spell. Harry picked a second spell that he felt would go perfectly hand in hand. It basically induced vertigo. Both spells would work nicely, now he just needed to not miss.
"Statiki Ekkenosi" Harry murmured softly. His lips gave a small twitch when the spell connected squarely to Susan's back. "Mareambulans" The second spell drifting from his lips once more. His aim a slightly off catching Nymphadora in the shoulder. Now with both spells in effect all he had to do was wait. Daphne for her part just stood back and watched trusting Harry not to cast anything potentially harmful at their friends. She also saw it as another learning experience as she would be inquiring about those spells later when they had a free moment. Turns out the pair didn't have to wait long as the second spell had pushed Nymphadora's naturally clumsiness to unprecedented levels. This caused her to trip and stumble. Instinctively Susan reached out to steady her friend. Upon contact the static discharge spell activated and shocked Nymphadora causing her to yelp and fall completely to the ground. Susan lent her hand to help Nymphadora up. The contact between their hands activated the spell this time shocking Susan. In reaction Susan dropped Nymphadora back on the floor and fell down herself.
It was at this point Daphne and Harry made their way over. Susan quickly noticed them mostly due to Daphne struggling to stay upright amidst her quiet giggling. That's when she pieced it together and forced Harry to cancel the spells which he did after Nymphadora sent a few vulgar threats his way involving his balls, a mousetrap, a blow torch, a rusty spoon, and a jar of mayonnaise. Harry was sure he heard her mumble few other things such as rope, hot wax, a whip and some honey. The look Nymphadora was sending him though had told him it'd be better if he didn't pursue that train of thought.
Susan being ever the mediator took notice of Daphne's still red forehead and asked what happened. This led to Daphne quietly explaining the events of the morning. Susan and Nymphadora were quite amused with their friends' antics. Harry on the other hand decided to wrap Daphne up in a hug as an apology. Daphne was shocked, for Harry to just hug her without prompting was simply unheard of. She decided she wouldn't dwell on it and would just enjoy it while it lasted. She loved his hugs. The main reason being their height difference. Harry stood at roughly 5'11". Daphne herself only stood at 5'6". Another reason was that he smelled of cinnamon, cloves, and Caribbean spiced rum. Daphne was absolutely intoxicated from the smell, and she could never get enough. Which is exactly why she buried her nose into the hug and took the deepest breath she could muster. It was a mixture of his scent and height that created this atmosphere of a save haven whilst his arms were embracing her. That like even in the worst thunderstorm imaginable he would be calm and protect her. It was honestly Daphne's favorite place to be, too bad she couldn't spend eternity there. She was so wrapped up in the hug she almost missed him apologizing for flicking her.
"Sorry Daffy, I'll make it up to you. Anything you want for dessert I'll buy." Harry whispered to her. His offer to buy her sweets would've won her forgiveness due to Daphne possessing the world's largest sweet tooth. The fact he used the nickname he gave her back in second year told her he was very genuine in his apology. He only called her "daffy" when he was serious or trying to prove a point. Meanwhile Susan and Nymphadora were cooing at the heartwarming display of friendship in front of them before Nymphadora loudly proclaimed her desire for sweets as well. Harry then broke the hug, Daphne showing some reluctance to let go but separating eventually as Susan led the group to the proper stalls selling sweets. After eating the group walked around enjoying the different games events they had going before the match tomorrow. As they walked back to the tent Harry gave a brief explanation of the spells he used and how they work by themselves and in conjunction with each other. As they approached the tent Harry was wary of what may yet come. It would be his first time seeing Susan's aunt after the incident at the end of last year. Oh how he hoped Susan explained it well enough that he didn't need to defend himself upon entering the tent. To say Susan's aunt was overprotective was an understatement on epic proportions. He had a feeling that it was a 50/50 toss up on whether or not Susan's aunt would attack him for his part of "The Incident".
-FLASHBACK-
Harry groaned as he eased himself into a chair. Teaching the girls the Patronus charm was hard work. But he felt it a necessity with all the dementors. Harry figured he could've taught them all faster one by one but they all wished to learn together so it took most of the year. By Christmas all three could perform a sufficient shield, though none had found a corporeal form yet. All in all they were making great progress. Harry remembered the 19 months it took for him to achieve his own corporeal Patronus. He was quite surprised to find his Patronus looked exactly like Kurai at his full size. The girls were understandably awed when they saw for the first time as previously, they hadn't met Kurai yet. Kurai didn't stay with Harry at Hogwarts but he did pop in and out to leave him books and other things. As he rested in his chair he had noticed one of the girls had stayed behind. Curious as to what she wanted he called out to her.
"Pervello." murmured Harry. Susan caught off guard by his sudden speaking failed to realize he cast a spell at her. The spell impacted Susan arm jolting her out of her stupor. With a quick yelp and a hard look aimed at Harry she quickly attempted to delve into her reasons for staying behind. Harry for all the knowledge he's learned of the years couldn't keep up with the rambling witch. He swore she seemed to speak faster and faster with each word. Despite his difficulty at keeping pace, he had a single saving grace. People who ramble like Susan was currently tended to repeat themselves amidst their nervousness. Harry eventually gathered that Susan had been experiencing odd feelings relating to Harry himself and she couldn't tell if they were of a romantic nature or not. Harry in his infinite simple male minded wisdom came up with the perfect plan that would guarantee definitive results. He told Susan that he'd give her till the King's Cross platform to figure it out herself, if she didn't then his plan would give her the answers she was seeking.
The next day train ride passed by quickly. But for Susan it was over all too quickly. She trusted Harry and whatever plan he had but it didn't ease the knot in her stomach. She wasn't sure what she was nervous about either. It was mostly a combination of the unknown of Harry's plan, the results of said plan, and what those results would mean between them. As the train came to a halt everyone started gathering their trunks. Harry already had his in his pocket so he helped shrink Daphne's and Nymphadora's. Daphne quietly said her goodbyes with a quick hug to everyone, Susan and Nymphadora hugging back. Harry merely opted for a head rub and some soft pats. Daphne seemed to enjoy these just as much, and with a small smile she took off in search of her sister. Nymphadora said she would catch up outside as she had to use the bathroom. With that Susan and Harry made their way off the train towards an emptier section of the platform. Once there Harry enacted his plan.
Unbeknownst to him, Susan's aunt Amelia had shown up early due to a meeting finishing earlier than expected. Amelia Bones was a powerful witch, having climbed the ranks of aurors making department head. She also had a reputation, one that was well earned for being utterly ruthless in a duel. It was said that dueling her was akin to staring down the devil himself. She was brutal and efficient in her spell work and movement. She also wasn't afraid to get down and dirty in hand-to-hand combat. Harry had the honor to witness one of her duels, he would describe it as one of the most beautiful things he ever witnessed. Between her movement that was wild yet held grace in its shadow, and her spells of choice. The wand movements flowed from one spell to the next with minimal resistance. It was fluid and effortless, the spells themselves were all powerful in their own right. With the way she was chaining them together they created these devastating combos that boosted her reputation as a devil in a duel. It was this woman that just watched Harry enact his plan out of context.
Harry's plan was simple really. He had heard some upper years talking about things they did with their girlfriends. They would describe how their girlfriends would react and say how they love it. Love is obviously a romantic feeling so if Harry acted his plan and Susan responded how he heard he would know Susan's feelings are romantic. Harry picked something rather simple so when Susan turned to ask him about his plan he wrapped one arm around her waist and drew her in. His other arm came up and caressed her cheek as he closed in for a kiss. Once the kiss was planted he reached down and cupped her breast giving it a firm squeeze. This would cause Susan to break out of her stupor at being kissed suddenly letting her push Harry back. Harry taking this as the test being over promptly informs her that he has errands to run but will await her letter on if that helped or not and simply disappeared in the flash of portkey. Susan was shell-shocked at what happened. Amelia was spitting fire and fury at some little punk kissing and groping her niece and then up and leaving. "Boy-who-lived" or not she'd teach him a lesson he'd never forget. Nymphadora who had caught up in time to catch the last of that encounter was completely lost and confused but ultimately putting it out of her mind figuring Susan would tell her soon enough.
-END FLASHBACK-
Harry was shaken out of his reminiscing when the hair on his neck stood straight up. Pure survival instinct took over as he dropped to the ground three spells flying through the space his head just occupied. Harry kept moving following up by rolling to the right as two more spells singe the ground behind him. Recovering as fast as he could he dove for cover behind the couch across from him. Time practically crawls due to all the adrenaline spiking in his system. Harry is aware of four more spells piercing the air heading right for him and all he can do is pray he makes it to cover in time. It wasn't to be as a bludgeoner and a bone breaker slam into his back. Harry managed to dodge a particularly nasty electrocution curse, and he didn't even recognize the last spell. As he landed behind cover, casted a quick pain numbing charm. Without warning the couch that was ever so graciously providing Harry safety erupted into splinters of wood and shreds of fabric. Before he could even react, the wood shards were banished toward him, about halfway trough the air the all simultaneously caught fire. Harry responded with the first spell that came to mind.
"Ekrixi Petras" Harry intoned calmly. Harry's stone slab was immediately impacted by hundreds of flaming wooden splinters. Three blasting curses then struck his makeshift cover. Harry retaliated quickly using a Japanese werewolf hunting curse.
"Gin Noyari" Came the whisper off Harry's lips. Followed up with a banishing charm could produce devastating results. It was the spell that was used next caused Harry significant pause.
"Ferreus Murus" said a voice sadistic glee practically oozing from every syllable. The "Iron Wall" spell was difficult to use as it requires substantial power and concentration. Harry himself could barely cast it and he knew he had the power. Harry then heard seven separate clangs of metal colliding and piercing against metal. When the dust settled, Harry came face to face with his opponent as they dropped the Iron Wall spell. Harry knew he was in for the toughest fight he's ever been in, and it was only starting.
AN: In response to the few reviews of the first chapter; To the one who said space my paragraphs as so many words could be hard to read, I don't think I can do much about that as I separate my paragraphs based on the relevant information each on contains but I'll take it into account for future planning
to who said it reads like a summary, fair point I could probably leave some things to explain till a later time but I find it hard to limit myself when "setting the scene" so to speak as I get very immersed in writing but it is a good thing to pay attention to in my futures updates and works
thanks for reading hoped its enjoyable or not.
