Keigo slowly looks down at Tokoyami sleeping on his chest, tiny chest rising with each breath. His left wing fluffed up even more and gently laid itself over the baby's back in an attempt to keep him warm. Keigo's mind started racing.

There's a baby in my arms.

I have no experience with babies.

I have no idea what I'm doing.

...Wait

An idea pops into his head and the winged-man smiles. "I know someone who can help!", he whisper-shouts, careful not to wake Tokoyami. Keigo uses one of his feathers to grab his phone and call his favorite person in the whole world.

It rung a couple of times before it was answered.

"What do you want, Hawks?" a gruff voice answered rudely, but that didn't stop Keigo from smiling even more. "Hey Endeavor, how's my favorite hero doing?" He can hear a long, drawn out sigh over the phone before it spoke again, "What is it, Hawks? I'm working right now."

Keigo nods as if Endeavor can see him before speaking again. "Okay big guy, so I have a bit of a problem and only you can help me, I think. So I came home from work and I was really hungry so I was like 'Hey I'm gonna order some food real quick', right? So anyways I ordered my food and-"

"Hawks." Endeavor said over the phone, now sounding a little angry. "Get to the point."

"Someone left a baby on my doorstep and the mother is gone and I have no idea what to do." Keigo finishes.

Total silence.

"...A baby? Hawks if this is some sort of jo-"

"It's not." Keigo responds again, his tone sounding serious. There was another moment of silence over the phone. Then there was another sigh. "Is the baby okay?" Endeavor asks.

Keigo smiles, "Yeah? I think so. He's sleeping on me so I can't really do a whole lot right now."

"Does it have a name?"

Keigo gasps dramatically, hand covering his mouth. "Endeavor! The baby is a HE, thank you very much. And HE does have a name, but HIS nickname is Fumi for now.", he proudly states, putting emphasis on the fact that the baby is a boy. "Seriously big guy, you can't go around calling babies 'it', you know? That's dehumanizing." he chuckles.

Another sigh.

"Okay Hawks, what do you want me to do?"

Keigo twiddles with his thumbs, almost acting kind of shy over the phone with the man he looks up to. Literally and figuratively. "When you have time tomorrow, can you come with me and Fumi to a doctor to make sure he's at least healthy? And help me figure out what to do with him...?"

Endeavor thinks for a moment before answering, "Don't you have work tomorrow morning? Where will...Fumi be while you're gone?"

Oh...right.

Keigo mentally curses at himself for forgetting that he has to leave for work at 5 in the morning and he won't get off until 3 that afternoon.

As if reading his mind, Endeavor speaks again, "I get off in thirty minutes so we can take him to Shoto's pediatrician. Meet me at my agency until then. Is that okay with you?"

Keigo's heart fluttered.

"Y-Yes! We'll be there soon. See ya big guy!"

Once the phone call was over, Keigo looks back down at the baby, who looked to be waking up from his nap.

Gosh he was so stinking cute.

"Psst, hey little birdie. Did you had a good nap?"

Tokoyami looks up at him with large, beady red eyes before chirping in response. Keigo nearly melted on the couch. That was the cutest thing he's ever heard in his life. The winged man slowly stands up, placing Tokoyami on the couch. He reaches for his typical fuzzy jacket and puts on his yellow goggles. Tokoyami could only stare at the man before him in confusion before chirping again.

Keigo smiles brightly. "That's right Fumi, we're gonna go see Uncle Endeavor today! Are you excited?"

Tokoyami only stares at him.

"That's the spirit!"

"Alrighty little birdie, we can't walk to Endeavor's agency since it's too far, so we're gonna fly. But don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

Keigo was now on the top of the roof to his house, wings spread out in prepared for flight. Tokoyami was inside his coat, tiny hands gripping onto the man's black shirt. Keigo held onto him for added measure to make sure he doesn't fall. Not that he would, but you know, just in case.

"Okay, hold on tight, Fumi!"

And with that, Keigo was flying in the air.

The hero focuses on keeping the baby close to his chest while he navigates to his destination. Tokoyami wasn't sure what was going on around him, but he knew he felt safe by the man holding him. He nuzzles his face into Keigo's warm neck and chirps again. Keigo pats the baby's head in an attempt to comfort him. "We're almost there Fumi."

After about another minute or so of flying, Keigo lands swiftly in front of Endeavor's agency, wings folding behind his back. He looks down at Tokoyami, who looked up at him again blankly.

"We're here now, don't worry. Let's go see Endeavor, okay?"

Tokoyami slowly blinks before resting his head on Keigo's chest again, now sticking a tiny hand inside his beak.

Keigo steps inside the building and was instantly met with Endeavor's sidekick, Burnin'. She gives him a big smile. "Hawks! Boss has been expecting your company! And-" Her attention was caught off guard by a baby hiding inside his coat. She tilts her head in confusion. "You have a kid now?"

The winged man sheepishly smiles. "Not quite. This little guy was left on my front porch today, so I'm meeting with Endeavor so he can help me out with him."

Burnin' bends over to get a closer at Tokoyami, who stares back at her with unblinking red eyes.

Then he sneezes.

Burnin's face brightens up and she squeals in excitement, "Eeeee! Hawks, he's ADORABLE! You HAVE to keep him, he basically looks like you!"

Keigo adjusts the hold on Tokoyami and starts walking over to Endeavor's office, shaking his head. "Hmm, we'll see. For now, I just wanna make sure that Fumi here is nice and healthy before I make any final decisions."

"He has a name?!"

He smiles at the excited woman walking next to him, "Yep. But it's just a nickname though."

The duo decided to take the elevator to the top floor on Endeavor's Agency, straight to his office. Once they reach to the top, Burnin' steps to the side to allow her companion to exit the elevator. She waves, "Alright Hawks, good luck on the new baby!"

The hero calls back out to her, "He's not my son!...Not yet probably!"

The elevator closes shut, leaving the winged man and the baby alone.

"Hawks."

"Ah!"

Keigo instantly turns around, holding on tightly to Tokoyami, who only appears to look bored. Immediately though, Keigo looks up and smiles brightly. "Endeavor! Geez man, you scared the mess outta me. And Fumi too, mostly."

Said baby blinks in response, now yawning. He doesn't appear to even be fazed by the huge flame hero before him.

Endeavor glances towards the smaller man before him and then to the baby he's holding.

Keigo flaps his wings a bit, now up to Endeavor's eye level. "You off work now? If you are then we can leave now if you want. Unless..." He flutters his eyelashes comically, "Unless you wanna...gimme a little...kis-OW!"

Endeavor smacks the bird man upside the head, flames burning even brighter.

"Quit fooling around Hawks. Come on, let's take the baby to get him checked out." The large man walks past Keigo, heading towards the elevator so that they can leave.

Keigo laughs nervously while tenderly rubbing the backside of his head where Endeavor hit him. In all honesty, it didn't even hurt him. He's been through worse. He only said that just to make him feel bad.

Tokoyami stares angrily at Endeavor, beady eyes tearing up and cheeks puffing up.

Keigo notices his change in behavior and his heart drops. "Uh, Endeavor?"

"What?"

Tokoyami sniffles and starts to cry. Very loudly. Big fat tears ran down his face, tiny fists swinging in the air. Keigo panics, frantically looking up to Endeavor for any sort of help to deal with a crying baby.

The flame hero looks at Keigo and realizes that this man has literally no idea what he was doing. It was almost kind of funny, in his own sick twisted way. Not that he'll ever admit that. "Figure out what's wrong and try to fix it."

"Okay, but I don't know what's wrong! What do I do?!"

Endeavor could only stare at the frightened man before him. For all he's known Hawks, he's never seen him so lost and confused over something like a crying baby. He really did needed help with this.

"Babies need to be comforted, Hawks. Try moving back and forth. They like that sort of thing."

Keigo takes Endeavor's advice, slowly swaying his body around and gently patting Tokoyami on his back. The tiny baby's cries eventually die down to just sniffles and he buries his face into Hawk's neck. It was apparent that he didn't want to look at Endeavor.

"It's okay Fumi, everything's okay. See? You're all better now."

Keigo looks up at Endeavor again, this time giving him a thankful smile.

The larger man only nods before walking into the elevator. "Come on Hawks, let's go. And try not to cause too much attention."

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

The second chapter is out now! And look at that, grumpy Endeavor is willingly helping Hawks with something small and cute like babies. He totally won't use this against him in the future. Nope. Absolutely not.

Thanks to everyone who likes the story so far, it really makes my day seeing people like the stuff I put out. :)

In the next chapter, we'll see them go to the pediatrician to see if Tokoyami is completely healthy and what he'll do with him. Stay tuned!
