After flying back home safely with Tokoyami, Hawks has officially decided that he'll drop him off with Burnin' at Endeavor's agency while he's gone to work. Not that she minded of course, the girl is a natural with babies.

But as nighttime came around, the winged hero didn't think about where little Fumi would sleep. Of course he could sleep in Hawks' bed in some way, but the man moves around a lot in his sleep. Not to mention his oversized wings would probably knock the sleeping baby off as well. And he didn't exactly WANT to leave Fumi in the spare guest bedroom to sleep alone. Too many things could happen.

What if he wakes up crying? What if he's hungry? What if...what if he needs a diaper change?

Hawks shuddered at the thought.

The blonde man yawns and Tokoyami does the same. He smiles at his tiny companion. "Real eventful day huh little Fumi? Sorry I don't have the things you need right now, but we'll go out tomorrow for whatever you need."

This was nice. Talking to Fumi was calming to Hawks, even if the baby won't speak back. Which reminds him...

"Hey Fumi, you can talk right? I mean, I know it's a dumb question since you're a baby and all, but can you say anything?"

Tokoyami blinks slowly at his guardian and tilts his head. Hawks chuckles nervously. "That's okay, you don't have to talk now, take your time."

Hawks reaches over and pinches Tokoyami's chubby cheeks, which didn't affect his blank stare. The man grins, "You're adorable Fumi, even if you look like you wanna end me. I haven't even known you for a day, but I feel so connected to ya. Do you feel like that too?"

Said baby pats at Hawks' hand. And then yawns again.

Yep, time to call it a night.

"Okay Fumi, it's bedtime. Now you can't sleep in my bed 'cause you're so small, so I'll just put you back in your little basket to sleep in, kay?"

Hawks picks up Tokoyami, grabbing his fluffy white blanket that he arrived with and sets him down gently in his carrier. The bird man decided to leave Tokoyami next to his bed so that if anything happens, he'll right there to take care of it. And for an added measure, he placed one of his feathers in the basket so that he can feel for any sudden movements.

Sue him, he's worried about Fumi's first night sleeping in his new environment.

Once he got Fumi settled comfortably, Hawks slides back underneath his bedsheets, yawning for the third time that night. He then sends one of his feathers to turn off the lights in his bedroom.

"'Night little birdie, don't let the bed bugs bite."

Tokoyami coos back at him.

It was now about six in the morning and Hawks, who's wide-awake, leans over the side of his bed to greet his sleeping companion. "Goooood morning, Fumi!"

Tokoyami's head pops up from his blanket, bright red eyes blinking tiredly at his overly loud guardian. Hawks smiles at him, "Aw, what's wrong? Not a morning person? It's okay Fumi, Uncle Endeavor isn't a morning person either so he's used to me being this loud, haha."

The infant frowns at the mention of the flame hero.

Hawks hops out of bed and scoops Tokoyami in his arms. He's getting used to holding him now. It was like holding a squishy dog. Not that Hawks would know for sure, he's never held a dog either. But he's getting better!

"You're probably hungry yeah? C'mon, let's see what I got for ya."

The bird man hovers over to the kitchen, humming a catchy tune to himself as he sets Tokoyami down on the kitchen table. "I don't know what you CAN eat, but you can eat soft food, right? Or maybe you should be drinking milk...?" Hawks turns his attention to the infant, who only stares right back at him with no response. His wings fall to his sides.

"Okay okay, you don't have to answer me. I'll just leave some stuff out and see what you like, sound good?"

Hawks reaches into the refrigerator to search for food. There wasn't much unfortunately, since he mostly lives off of fast food and Red Bulls. But he managed to find some stuff for the little bird. He laid out a small carton of chocolate milk, applesauce, and a piece of bread. He smiles proudly.

"Okay, any of these catch your eye?"

Tokoyami glances at each item before him intently and reaches out for the applesauce first.

"Applesauce? Good choice little birdie!"

Hawks sits himself down in a chair, spoon in hand. Tokoyami's eyes follows Hawks' movements as he scooped up the cold treat. He starts to chirp excitedly. Hawks smiles, "Alright Fumi, say 'aaahh'. Like this, see?"

Tokoyami mimics Hawks' action, opening his beak as he leaned forward to the spoonful of applesauce. Hawks smiles again. Feeding little Fumi early in the morning felt oddly natural to him. Like he was meant to do this. Or maybe he's thinking too much and that's just the Red Bull kicking in.

Once he was done feeding Tokoyami, Hawks grabs a napkin and starts to wipe around the infant's face, wiping off any excess applesauce. The blonde pets Tokoyami on the head happily, "Good job Fumi. Now let's get ready to drop you off with Burnin', okay?"

So after a quick shower (and Hawks applying his usual eyeliner), the duo were ready to head off. With Tokoyami inside his coat, Hawks took off in the air and headed straight to the Endeavor Agency. Being the speedy flier he is, Hawks arrived at his destination in less than ten minutes, where he was greeted by Burnin'. The young woman waves him over, smiling brightly.

"Good morning Hawks! And good morning to you, Hawks' son!"

Hawks waves back at her, "Heyo! What are you doing out?"

"Boss said I'm looking after your kid today while you're gone at work. You cool with that?"

Hawks nods, "Yeah not a problem. Fumi doesn't do much though so I'm sure it'll be easy. And if he ever gets hungry, you can feed him applesauce. I don't know much else about him besides that."

He hands Tokoyami over to the flame sidekick, who looks up at his new holder blankly. He looks away from her and reaches out for Hawks again, letting out a few chirps. Hawks smiles sadly.

"It's okay Fumi, I'll be back soon, okay? Here, you can have this."

The blonde man gives Tokoyami one of his large feathers for him to hold on to. The infant gazes at the red feather in his chubby hands, blinks a few times, and starts teething on it.

At least he's not upset anymore.

"You're teaching him to eat your feathers? Hawks, my guy, that's adorable." Burnin' remarks, petting Tokoyami on his head. Hawks laughs. "Nah, Fumi would never do that. Anyways, please take care of him while I'm away and make sure he doesn't see Endeavor. I get the feeling that he doesn't like him for some reason."

Burnin' laughs. "Yes sir! Now hurry up and go to work, Fumi here is in good hands!"

Hawks spreads his wings out, waves goodbye to the two of them, and takes off in the air. As he's flying, he whips out his phone and dials for one of his closest friends. It picks up.

"Heyyy, you up for shopping when I get off work?"

Time went by slowly for Hawks. Yeah sure, him defeating criminals, filing out paperwork, and going on patrols was distracting. But it wasn't enough to stop worrying about Fumi. Was he doing okay? Did he throw a fit when he left for work? Did he get sick?

Okay now Hawks was just overthinking.

Of course he would feel his feather tingle that he gave to Fumi, but he wanted to physically see him. And hold him. And pinch his cheeks. And maybe cuddle with the little guy.

When the clock struck 4pm, Hawks flew away from his workplace and headed straight to the Endeavor Agency. Instead of landing in front of the building, Hawks decided to fly to the top window, where Endeavor's office was. He presses his face against the glass, seeing his favorite hero sitting at his desk. His wings fluffed up.

"Endeavor! Endeavor, it's me, open up!"

He bangs his gloved fists repeatedly on the window, which quickly caught the red-head's attention. The bird man smiles as he sees Endeavor storming over to the window and basically ripping it open.

"What the HELL Hawks?"

The blonde hops inside the office, quickly adjusting his hero outfit before flashing Endeavor a cheesy grin. "Hi Endeavor~. How's my favorite hero doing?"

Endeavor pinches the bridge of his nose, obviously annoyed by smaller man's presence. "Hawks, you could've took the elevator up here. I was finishing up some really important paper-"

"Yeeaahh, but I was already flying here and I was like 'You know what? I'm gonna stop by and see Fire Daddy real quick'. And THEN I'll pick up Fumi, haha."

"You call me Fire WHAT?"

Endeavor picks Hawks up by the hood of his jacket, shaking him around angrily. All while Hawks is still smiling with no care in the world. "What's wrong Endeavor? Don't like the nickname? I think it suits you very well."

The larger man's flames burn even brighter at that statement.

"Hawks, I'm gonna-"

The door to the office suddenly opens, revealing it to be Burnin'. The young woman tilts her head, "What's going on here? I heard shouting. Oh, hey Hawks!", she waves at him.

He waves back, "Hi Burnin'! Me and Fire Daddy were just having a friendly chat, that's all~."

Endeavor raises his voice again, "Dammit Hawks, stop calling me that!" Hawks waves his hand at him nonchalantly, "Anyways, I'm here to pick up Fumi. Where is he?"

"Little guy got sleepy so I set him down for a nap. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you, Number Two."

"Wait, really? You think so? I was worrying about him all day! Take me to him please."

Hawks wiggles himself out of Endeavor's grasp and grabs his jacket back from him. "Thanks for letting Burnin' watch him, big guy. But next time I come over here, give me a kiss, will ya?"

Hawks immediately flew out of the red-head's office before he could do anything to him, grabbing Burnin's hand and slamming the door shut. Even from inside the elevator, the two of them can clearly hear Endeavor's rage from his office. And they felt the building shake a little. Both of them laughed at what just happened.

"You always know how to get on the Boss's nerves, huh?"

"Yep, it's one of my many special talents that no one else can do! He has a soft spot for me, but won't admit it. I can tell."

The elevator dings and its doors slide open. Hawks follows the flame sidekick while putting his jacket back on. "So, how was Fumi? Did he do anything exciting while I was gone?"

Burnin' shook her head.

"Nah, not really. He kinda just sat there and played with the feather you gave him. I changed his diaper and me and him kinda just had a lazy day today. Kid's great though!"

Burnin' opens a door to a room that looks like a nursery of some sort. There were pastel pink walls with cutesy flowers and animals painted over and a colorful rug that was covered with various baby toys. The lights were turned off and you could hear soft music playing in the background.

"You guys have a nursery?!" he whisper-shouts.

She nods. "Yeah. Some of us here are parents so sometimes kids are dropped off here. I'm usually the one who looks after them though." She then points over to Tokoyami's sleeping form, where he was sleeping soundly with his blanket over him. Hawks' heart nearly melts.

He hovers to the sleeping baby, kneeling down to the floor. Poor little guy even held onto the red feather in his sleep, clutching to it tightly as if it would run away. Hawks takes out his phone and snaps a quick picture.

He's definitely going to save this.

"Fumi? Fumiiii, wake up little birdie. It's me, your favorite person ever." He gently shakes Tokoyami's body to wake him.

The infant's eyes slowly flutter open. He looks around his surroundings and then finally notices Hawks next to him. He starts chirping excitedly as he reaches out for Hawks. The short man happily picks him up, keeping his blanket wrapped around him.

"I missed you too Fumi! Auntie Burnin' told me how you were good today, hm?"

Tokoyami chirps again.

"Exactly, you ARE a good baby. Come on birdie, we have a little stop to make."

Hawks stuffs Tokoyami inside his jacket, but makes sure to keep him close to his chest comfortably. "Thanks again for looking after Fumi, Burnin'. Is it cool if I drop him off here more often?"

She smiles. "No problem! And you can drop him off here anytime you'd like. I'm sure Boss wouldn't mind."

"Thanks! We'll be going now, say bye to Auntie Burnin', Fumi."

To his surprise, Tokoyami looks over at the young woman and waves his tiny hand at her. Burnin' waves back at him. "Be good for Hawks, okay? See ya next time kiddo!"

Many people will argue that carrying a baby while flying is extremely dangerous. And under most circumstances, they would be right. But Hawks is a damn good flier and would never drop anyone from his arms, no matter who it is and how high they are. Plus, it seems like Tokoyami is starting to like flying with him, even if he has no understanding of safety yet.

Hawks looks down at the nearing building he was flying to and starts descending downward until he finally landed. He folds his wings close behind him. "Alright Fumi, we're here! Now we just gotta wait for Ru-"

A loud voice interrupts him midsentence.

"Keigo! Wanna explain to me why the hell we're at a BABY STORE?"

The bird man spins around, smiling brightly. "Rumi! So glad you could join us!"

Mirko looks between Hawks and the sudden baby the poked his head from his jacket. She blinks in confusion. "Keigo Takami. Since when did you, of all people, had a kid? As a matter of fact, WHO'S kid is that?"

Hawks continues smiling. "Rumi, I would like you to meet Fumi. He's my..."

Ah crap, what should he say? Should he say son? It seemed a little early to be calling this baby his own son, but he did say he would give parenting a try. He hasn't known Fumi for very long, but he would do just about anything for him. And it would be wrong to not say anything, right?

Maybe it won't hurt to say it once. You know, just to get a feel for it.

"...he's my son."

The confused bunny hero stares at him in silence, maroon eyes frantically looking back and forth between the duo.

"Did you...did you lay an egg?"

"What?"

"Did you lay an egg? Is that where he came from?"

"Yes Rumi, I laid an egg. It took him about 3 months to hatch, duh."

"WHAT?"

Hawks flicks her on the forehead. "I'm joking, bun bun. Of course I didn't lay an egg, but he is, by technicality, my son. Which is why I want you to go shopping for baby stuff with me!"

Mirko was now officially at a lost for words. Hawks? With a kid? He was still a damn kid himself! But if Hawks didn't lay an egg (which she always thought would happen), then where did this baby come from?

"Keigo, you know I love you and all, but why do you want ME to go with you? You could've asked Mt. Lady or even Midnight or literally anyone else with baby experience."

Hawks pouts at her dramatically. "Because you're my best friend and I love you so much and you would do anything for me? Come on, we're already here! And how can you say no to this face?"

Hawks shoves Tokoyami into Mirko's face, where she was face to face with his chubby face and bright red eyes. Tokoyami reaches out and tries to touch one of her long ears, but ends up touching her cheek. He coos at her. The bunny hero falls for Tokoyami's cuteness.

"Ugh, fine I get it! Now get your cute kid outta my face before I kick you in your knees."

Hawks does a silent cheer, pulling Tokoyami back close to him.

"Yes! Come on, I have so many ideas of what I wanna get him and I need your help."

The two pro heroes finally step inside the store, one excited and one dreading to be there. The store was pretty large, with many employees walking about helping customers. It was pretty organized as well so that you couldn't get lost finding for what you were looking for. Mirko cringed.

"It reeks of baby powder and innocence in here."

Hawks points to an aisle of baby clothes, "Look, baby onesies! Come on, let's go look at them!" The excited man quickly grabs a shopping cart, buckles Tokoyami inside, and basically flies over to the onesies section. Mirko sighs, following close behind him.

"Ooooh, Rumi look at this one!"

Hawks held up a red and gold onesie with tiny wings on the back, on the front reading HAWKS. She tilts her head. "You wanna get your kid merch...of yourself?"

"Yes! And it's not just me, there's one of, lemme look. You, All-Might, surprisingly Endeavor, Best-Jeanist, all of us!" He grabs another one, this time it was black with white sleeves. In white text on the front it read "Daddy's Little Bird."

He slowly turns to his friend, eyes almost tearing up.

"This one. Rumi, this one is SO CUTE. I'm getting this. Help me pick some more before I buy out all of them."

Mirko waves her hand at him. "Okay, okay. Let's see."

She randomly grabs a hooded white onesie with an orange carrot on the front and on the hood were small bunny ears. And a cute little bunny tail on the back. She has to admit, this was pretty darn cute.

"How about this one?"

Hawks claps his hands excitedly, "Aww, that one is adorable! Fumi will be like a mini you!"

Mirko tosses the onesie in the cart and notices that Tokoyami was staring at her the whole time. While Hawks was distracted, she pinches the small baby, giving him a small smile. "Stop staring at me with those big ol' eyes. You look like Hawks when you do that."

"Hm? Did you say something Rumi?"

"N-no! And I think those are enough onesies, Hawks. The cart is half full of them."

True enough, Hawks had almost every type and every color onesie in the shopping cart. Most of them were either merch or bird-related ones. He smiles sheepishly, "Yeah you're right. But they would all look cute on him, I swear!"

"Uh huh. Where to next?"

Hawks points again, "Diapers! Because I literally have no idea what I'm doing and I'm just winging it! Get it? Winging it? I'm hilarious."

He starts pushing the cart, this time with a skip in his step. Mirko strolls along beside him. "So this is your kid, right? You never talked about having a baby or even hinted at having one so I just gotta ask. Did you kidnap him?"

Hawks laughs off her serious question. "No I didn't kidnap him. I'll explain everything in detail after we're done shopping, okay? It's family bonding time right now!"

They finally arrive in the diaper aisle and immediately paused. There was a tall, exhausted looking man with unkempt black hair down to his shoulders. He had his own cart with him, but was casually looking through the selection of diapers. Mirko blinks.

"Is that-?"

Hawks' wings fluttered, "Eraserhead! Wasn't expecting to see you here!"

Aizawa's head doesn't move, but his eyes slowly turned to see who was calling out for him. "Good afternoon Hawks and Mirko. Aren't you two a strange pair together." he replies monotonously. He finally looks down at Tokoyami and looks back up at both of them.

"Is that your kid?"

Hawks smiles proudly. "Yep! This is my son, Fumi! Oh and don't worry about Rumi, she's just his auntie, haha."

Aizawa tiredly blinks. "Oh. Interesting. How old is he?"

"He's eight months!"

Mirko glances at the stuff in Aizawa's cart. There were baby clothes, pacifiers, baby bottles, and baby formula. She looks back up at him. "Eraserhead, do you have a kid or...?

"Yes."

Hawks and Mirko's eyes both widened in shock. He waves off their shocked expressions. "Adopted though. I was against it at first, but Mic convinced me that we should get a kid. So now we're out buying stuff or whatever."

"Aww! Wait, what do you mean 'we?' I don't see Present Mic around here."

Aizawa tugs at his scarf around his neck and a tuft of indigo hair popped out. The scarf continues to unravel, revealing there to be a baby wearing a kitten onesie clinging to Aizawa's shirt. He looked to be around the same as Tokoyami. The baby yawns.

"Hawks. Mirko. This is Hitoshi, my adopted son. Say hi to the nice heroes, Hitoshi."

Hitoshi looks over to where Aizawa was looking, big purple eyes blinking tiredly. He shyly waves at the pair.

The exhausted man smiles, "He says hi."

I'm glad to see people are enjoying the story so far! I'm honestly just going with the flow so whatever happens, happens I guess lmao. Thanks for the support and I'll see you all in the next chapter! :)
