A/N: Okay y'all, I couldn't help myself... new SAVIS story! This is set after the season 5 finale. Let me know what you guys think!

"Shit." Sonny grumbles trying to get to his phone before it stopped ringing. "Dad?"

Emmet hears Sonny's labored breathing. "You doin okay son?"

"Uh." Sonny groans as he lowers himself into a kitchen chair. "We, uh we got ambushed on our last mission. I'm good, just banged up and hurtin."

"Ya sure you're good?" Emmet confirms. "I don't know if I'll ever get used to the idea of my only child getting shot at regularly."

"Sorry Dad, there's a reason I don't talk a whole hell of a lot bout the missions." Sonny pauses. "No one wants to hear bout their loved one almost dyin all the damn time."

"But in the end of the day, you're a Navy SEAL." Emmet responds.

"Yeah." Sonny chuckles. While things were still kind of shaky between him and his Dad, this was still 100 times better than Sonny ever thought it would be. "Ya didn't call me to talk bout me almost gettin blown to pieces, so what's up?"

"Maybe I'm stallin." Emmet stumbles.

"Why in the hell would ya be stallin?" Sonny asks. He didn't like the direction this conversation was taking.

"Um." Emmet mumbles.

"Dad, spit it out already." Sonny tells him.

"It's Hannah." Emmet tells him.

"What about Hannah?" Sonny asks, he knew he didn't like Emmet's tone.

"She was closing the bar last night." Emmet pauses. "She was hit by a drunk driver on her way home."

"Is she dead?" Sonny blurts out.

"She's in critical condition." Emmet responds.

"Fuck." Sonny mumbles. "Where's LeAnne?"

"With Hannah's parents." Emmet clears his throat before continuing. "I don't know how much you and Hannah have talked bout it, but her parents ain't in a place take her."

"Wait." Sonny grumbles. "Hold up. Why are ya talkin like she's already dead?"

Emmet lets out a long breath. "Son, it doesn't look good."

"Dad, I'm the one that should be lyin in a hospital bed in critical condition, not Hannah."

"I know Son."

"What the hell do I do?" Sonny asks feeling incredibly lost.

"Ya get your ass on a plane and come take care of your and her Mother." Emmet sternly tells him.

"Yeah." Sonny says weakly. "I'll let ya know when I'm gettin into town."

"Sounds like a plan. I'll let ya know if anything changes." Emmet pauses. "Love ya, Son."

"Love ya too Dad." Sonny hangs up the phone. That was the first time Sonny could remember his Dad telling him he loved him.

After what felt like a lifetime of travel, Sonny was finally back in Texas. He made his way to the front door of his Dad's house. He pushes the door open. "Dad." He calls.

"Shh." Emmet responds. Sonny finds him sitting in the recliner holding LeAnne. "She just fell asleep."

Sonny sits on the sofa. "How is she?" He asks in a hushed voice.

"She's been real fussy." Emmet says while continuing to rock the recliner backwards and forwards.

"I'm sure on some level she knows somethin is up." Sonny leans back.

Emmet looks him over and notes all of the abrasions to his face and arms. "Ya weren't kiddin bout almost gettin blown up, where ya?"

"Yeah, it was pretty rough." Sonny nods. "But I'm alive and I'm here. How's Hannah doin?"

"I ain't heard much." Emmet shrugs. "Nancy and Gene are lost as hell. I all I know is her brain won't stop swellin and they had to drill hole in her skull."

Sonny leans forward. "Fuck." He breaths out. "Dad, what if she dies? I can't take care of LeAnne on my own. I got three years left on my enlistment. But even after that I still gotta work, a-and the only skill I got is shootin."

"I'll help ya as much as I." Emmet offers.

"I know ya will Dad, but your life is here. And I can't leave Bob Beach." Sonny pushes his hat up onto the top of his head and runs his hands down face.

"Nothin has changed since ya were here last." Emmet looks around. "This place is still a mess."

Sonny's head snaps to look at Emmet. "What the hell are ya talkin bout?"

"Hell, I already sold off half the land, why the hell shouldn't I sell off the rest." Emmet looks between LeAnne and Sonny. "My son and granddaughter seem like one hell of a reason to."

"I can't ask ya to do that." Sonny shakes his head.

"I'll do it. But ya never know, she could pull through." Emmet says, not believing it himself.

"We can hope." Sonny closes his eyes for a minute, but he couldn't slow his brain down. "She got somewhere to sleep here?"

Emmet shakes his head no. "I took the collapsible crib contraption from Nancy and Gene, but I ain't put it together or nothin."

"I'll get up and do it in a second." Sonny states. "She deserves a place to sleep."

"Alright." Sonny says walking back downstairs after assembling the Pack N' Play. "She's all set up in the room across from mine." He bends down and reaches out for her.

"Bye Miss LeAnne, I'll see ya in the mornin." Emmet tells her.

"Thanks for takin such good care of her Dad." Sonny turns and walks towards the stairs. "Okay princess, let's get ya to bed." He walks into the room he had set the crib up in. "Listen, I know this ain't as nice as your room at home, but I don't have the heart to go there without your Mama bein there. In case nobody told ya, she got hurt real bad last night." Sonny looks down at his daughter resting comfortably in his arms. "LaAnne, I ain't gonna lie to ya, I don't know if your Mama's gonna make it." He lets out a long breath. "Ima take good care of ya, if she doesn't. Ya ain't gonna have the childhood I did after my Mama died. I-I uh, I don't quite know how yet, but you'll be taken care of, I promise."
