Title: Chasing Freedom

Summary: I decided it was time for a change, and moved my coven to American soil. I am so glad I did because I have met the most beautiful creature I have ever seen, in all my three thousand years on this earth.

Note: Just an idea I have had running through my muse, for a while, and decided to see where things fall into place with it, no direct path, just going with the flow :) so it's a surprise for me, as well as anyone who reads this!.

Chapter One

Aro's Point of View.

I decided I wanted to inform the Chief of this town, of our presence and see how his reaction is to my kind. We'd built a new mansion in the forest, off a dirt track much bigger, and grander than the Cullen's coven tiny home. My old friend isn't happy with me, we have taken over their territory and there isn't anything he can do about it.

I sit in my throne room, and smell the most delicious scent I think I have ever had the pleasure of coming across in all my years on this earth. I smelt it a few times between here and Port Angeles. A combination of wild strawberries and ocean, reminding me of my past life in Greece as a human… home! I'm pretty sure I smelled this scent in the Cullen's abode too.

"Master, an Isabella and Chief Charlie Swan are here, as you apparently ordered Chief Swan to be, are his words," my child Jane informs me like I didn't already know.

"Send them in!" I say, glancing at both of my brothers. Marcus is looking at me with raised eyebrows.

"What?" I ask in our birth tongue, a language that no longer exists, which suits us fine.

"Your life is about to get a little bit interesting brother!" It was my turn to raise my eyes, and as the door opened a middle-aged man, with dark hair and a moustache entered first in a full police uniform, hat on in all, and then the most beautiful creature I ever did see, stepped through behind him, I wasn't expecting two guests. But I sure am not complaining with this surprise.

"I hope you don't mind, Isabella is just seventeen but doesn't feel comfortable staying at home alone, after a few situations have happened lately." He greeted me with, as he looked at all three of us with wide eyes, having just noticed them red. His hand goes to his gun belt automatically, stepping to the side a little to hide his child, all though she didn't smell like him, which is odd, as families who came through my castle would often smell similar, these two don't.

"You have no reason to fear us, Chief Swan, this is why I invited you here, so you are aware of my kind's presence in your area. Should there be any issues, you are to contact my brother King Caius here, as he is in charge of monitoring my kind's behaviour."

I looked over to Isabella, and that is when it happened. She is looking directly at me now with interest, no fear or disgust, and as our eyes locked that is when my whole world changed for the better. She is beautiful, with long natural chocolate brown locks that have hints of copper running through, wide brown eyes, perfect skin, complimenting her perfect heart-shaped face.

There was some kind of commotion but I couldn't see it or didn't even care for it. I only had eyes for my beautiful mate, I felt myself rise and moved slowly forwards approaching the most precious gift I've ever received. I noticed some kind of white glow begin to form around our feet as I stepped within arm's reach of her, feeling calm and happier than I have done in years. Still, I smell no fear coming from my Queen.

I offer her my hand and she doesn't hesitate to take it, and interestingly enough, I don't hear or see any of her thoughts or past, flash before my eyes. As fire and ice skin link I noticed she doesn't feel hot to me but a pleasant warmth, like a Greek's early morning during the hot summer season. It's then I noticed the white glow that was around our feet, has completely cut us off from the room, and we can't see out of it at all.

"Vampire King Aro, and human Isabella Marie Merlin, you have been chosen by the gods and goddesses of history to lead a United front amongst both of your kinds, to join forces against those who'll come against you, as they try to break down walls, you Aro have carefully built, to help your kind live more peacefully. As a prince in your human days, you've kept some of those values, and used them well, we've been following both of your journeys, through life and knew you'd be perfectly mated. Do not believe a word anyone tells you unless they are your family and most trusted. We have decided to gift you, with gifts that you both have secretly wished for throughout the years, along with ones we feel will help guide you along the way.

Isabella, you are the last descendant of Merlin, your mother had an affair with the last remaining male, of his bloodline before he got killed in a car crash. You are not a Swan. Chief Charlie Swan knows this too, your mother and Charlie can not be trusted. We have warned you, so beware of your surroundings.

We also give you these rings on this day, to marry you, and solidify your bond, which is unbreakable. Do you agree to continue?"

"Yes," we both said at the same time. My forehead now rests against my Queens, both of our hands linked. We look down as we feel a tightening around our wedding band finger, and I hear Isabella gasp in shock.

"I have a question… Do I still continue with my education? It's been the only consistent thing in my life!" She asks the Angels.

"Yes, you will place Jane as her protector during the day, unless it's sunny you will contact Chief Black, your godfather, he is as much in the dark as you have been. He's warned Chief Swan about the Cullen family for years. You will have to blackmail Chief Swan of your secrets. We wish you all the best. You have forty-eight hours to complete your union."

The white light that cocooned us, started to fade and I kept my new wife close to me as the room became visible once more. I blinked and noticed my brothers standing on either side of me, and Chief Sean is being restrained by Demetri and Felix.

"Welcome back brother, the Angels sent us a message, before you two disappeared," Caius said in our birth language, as I kept both of my arms around my mate.

"I see, escort Chief Swan out, and pay him handsomely for his silence of everything he heard or saw today. I will be contacting you soon, for another meeting. We will be watching your every move." I warned him.

"Get your filthy hands off, my daughter!" He yelled.

"You can not threaten mates without it falling back on you Chief Swan!" Marcus said, in a cold tone.

"My wife doesn't particularly feel like talking to you right now Swan, after some of the things we've discovered tonight when the Angels took us from this room. Did we disappear?" I ask my brothers.

"Yes!" Both Caius and Marcus replied.

"Interesting… " I say.

"Wife?" Swan blurts out in shock. I turn to glare at him!

"Yes, wife. These rings can not be removed, my wife is now Isabella Volturi, and as I said she doesn't particularly want to speak or see you right now. If she wants answers, we will call you first for them. Felix and Demetri escort him out of the room! I don't want him in my mansion anymore."

"I'm not leaving my daughter, with you!" He snapped angrily. Isabella turned her head at this to look directly at him and spoke for the first time since the Angels disappeared.

"I don't want anything to do with you right now, Charlie. You and my mother have hurt me beyond words." His eyes widened in shock, clearly not expecting that. Demetri and Felix lifted him up and carried him out of the room, as he yelled and kicked his way out like a child.

"Welcome to the family, young Isabella. It's about time this one got tied down," Marcus spoke first, breaking the silence that fell after Swan's departure.

"Of course, he'd get special treatment as always!" Caius grumbled, and I rolled my eyes.

"No need to be jealous brother, just because you and yours are always having issues!" I told him.

"Yes, well we are a little too similar, and clash rather a lot, but she is mine so just watch it!" Caius warns me.

"If you'll excuse us, my wife and I need some time alone so nobody is to disturb us until we want to be." With those parting words, I lift my bride up in my arms and move at my speed to my private floor of this mansion.
