Saxa didn't have time to stand and wonder how she would get out. Sooner or later someone would find her. She needed to keep moving. She hurried soundlessly through the place and stopped when she reached the open bailey. There were guards walking around and talking to each other.

She moved from pillar to pillar and tried hiding behind them while figuring out how to get into the castle. She stopped when she saw a set of keys hanging on one of them. She stretched her arm little by little, hoping none of the guards would suddenly move their eyes towards her. She felt relief when her fingers closed around the keys. She pulled them off the hook and crouched down behind the pillar again. She had no idea if those keys would become useful but she wasn't leaving anything up to chance.

"Come on, Saxa," she whispered. "Where to? Think, think, think."

Her eyes stopped at the horse. Her jaw dropped at the sight of it. She shouldn't be surprised seeing how she had already met unicorns. She wasn't prepared to see a big, white, winged horse as well.

"Pegasus," she whispered.

Pegasus looked towards her as if it heard her whisper its name. It looked sad. She moved her eyes down and saw one of its back legs were chained up.

"You're a prisoner here," she whispered. "Saxa, you know you might die if you do this. Fuck, you gotta do this. This isn't right."

She moved around slowly until she reached the chained up Pegasus. She moved in and hid behind it.

"You smell strongly like horse, beautiful Pegasus. Maybe your scent can hide mine," she said. "Warn me if anyone's coming. I can't make any promises but let's see if I might be in luck."

She moved to its back legs and started trying the keys in the lock. Key number four unlocked the chain.

"Easy," she whispered. "If you fly away now, I'm utterly fucked. I need you for a little longer. Just let me get back to the pillar, okay? Then you can go. Just fucking fly out of here and get to safety."

She crawled back to the nearest pillar and continued around from pillar to pillar. She finally made it to the one closest to the castle. Two guards were standing at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the castle. She had no idea how to get up there and inside. Suddenly a loud neigh was heard. She looked over at Pegasus to see it was making a big fuss. It was neighing, rearing and flapping its wings. All the guards ran over to it. She looked at the stairs and realized this was her moment. She sprinted up the stairs to the castle door. She looked back quickly and locked eyes with Pegasus that seemed to speak to her without any words.

"Thank you," she whispered.

She opened the door, slid inside, and closed it again. It was up to Pegasus to get away now while it was up to her to find the throne room and not get caught on the way. She moved through the castle and stopped outside of an open door. She could hear heavy breathing inside, and she just knew it would be the tribal chief Roman. She was wondering how to get in there unseen and shoot him with the crossbow when his voice suddenly thundered loudly.

"Saxa!" His voice hurt her ears. "I've been waiting for you!"
