What's up people who have somehow found my story at least kind of entertaining. I have a ton of ideas, but so little time as exams are rolling on. So, I guess I should've warned you for the kind of slow updates hah. Anyway, here's chapter 2. Enjoy.
...
A deathly whisp of air was the only thing that could be within the dead of the night. Hidden behind the darkness, brewing, like rats to a dead man's corpse, evil lurked at every corner. In the dead of the night, few heroes patrolled, streets were dim, barren, perfect breeding ground for crime.
Still, even villains were wary at this time. After all, running into someone like Eraserhead meant certain defeat. They had to be smart, tactful, methodical in how they moved, how they used their quirks.
All inefficiency would leave them out in the open, an easy catch for any onlooking hero.
"Hey, keep it down over there you pair of dingbats!" A man in a dark alleyway hissed silently towards two scruffy looking men. "Come on now, let's just get this over and done with as soon as possible."
"Hey, you wouldn't believe how heavy a pair of kids could be if I told ya!" One-man snickered whilst the other swiped at their head.
"Right away, sir." The other said.
"Idiots," The leader grumbled, before quickly making his way ahead of the two lackey's. He trailed the long alleyway's wall with his hand before stopping at one certain spot. "Here we go." He turned to lack back where he'd come from, back to where the two other men had supposedly been following him.
"Hmm?" The man sunk into his feet, wiping his hair back. "Hey, you two, hurry up! Don't wanna lose our first jackpot, lads!"
However, all he could see was the ever-warping darkness of the alley looming over him, eerily, like it was about to pounce.
Then, he heard the footsteps. Then he smelt the blood.
Then he saw it, then he saw HIM.
From the darkness, a man cloaked in bandages and hoods, decorated with strange Egyptian artifacts, walked out from the darkness, dragging the two men by their feet, whilst two petrified girls walked by him, clenching his cloak tightly.
"Jesus Christ..." The man scrutinized his lackey's bodies in shock, taking in their beaten and disfigure faces.
"I take it..." The cloaked man spoke, his voice ushering utter control over the area. "You're the boss of this whole hostage situation?"
"Who-... just who the hell do you think YOU are?!" The boss held his ground, clenching his fists which subsequently changed into a harder foreign material. "I know my way around these parts. Never heard of you. You must be a vigilante!" He put his fits up cockily. "My buddies may not have given you a tough time, but I assure you—"
In the blink of an eye, the old man found himself on the ground, his ears ringing, the taste of iron filling his mouth and wispy vision. He blinked and groaned, looking around in confusion.
Finally, his eyes met the cloaked man's eyes who stood just above his head. "Who..." The old man's breath stifled. "Just who are you?"
"A hero of the night-the one you see coming."
...
"Izuku, Izuku! Your letters here!"
It had been one week since the entrance exam and the entire house was in total disarray just waiting for the results. Granted it was only him and his mother, Inko.
Inko handed him his acceptance letter, at least he hoped it was, with a reassuring face and shaky hands. She was always true to herself in moments like that.
Izuku made his way into his cluttered room, shutting the door behind him and taking a deep breath. He walked over to his desk and plopped the mail atop of it, looking at it for what felt like forever.
Finally, he decided to open it and within fell a disc-like object with a button on its center. He clicked it and a blue hologram of All might shot out of it instantly.
"Woah!" He gasped not only in shock, but in awe. His childhood hero was right Infront of him, addressing him head on about his results.
In a rather shocking turn of events, All might had made his way into the school faculty of U.A, meaning that he would now be teaching class... Izuku almost wanted to faint just thinking about it.
"You scored 90 overall villain points, as well as 35 extra hero points, giving you a grand total of 125 points in the practical section of the entrance exam, and 3rd overall in the written
test! To cut it short, Izuku Midoriya, you have been accepted into U.A high—well done and welcome to your hero academia!"
The hologram faded.
Izuku teared up with his mouth agape.
"I GOT IN!" He shouted at the top of his lung's moments later.
Inko stormed into the room, her eyes already gushing tears like a waterfall. The two hugged one another in joy and shock, barely able to say a word to one another.
...
He woke up on his bed with a headache that could take out a few dozen men, his back aching, his cheek sore. He felt like shit, not the best thing to feel on your first day of school. However, it certainly wasn't too unfamiliar to what he'd come to grow used to.
"Who took control of my body while I was sleeping?" Izuku said meekly. His eyes narrowed and his mouth stiffened.
"Had to." He said something again, with a heaver tone than before. "Took care of some bad guy."
"Jack." Izuku's face reverted. "When you say, "took care", you don't mean—"
"When have I ever?" His face shifted once more. "All I did was beat them up real good,
broke a guys legs I think. Deserved it, They were scum."
It shifted for the final time, with Izuku's face showing panicked gratitude.
"Thank goodness," Izuku sighed. "Still not the greatest start to my day, but atleast im not dead... or a murder, I think."
A small twinge of uncertainty flashed on his face as he heard no response. "Quiet today, huh."
He soon got prepared and made it through breakfast in minutes. He got hungry when anxious, not something Inko hadn't learnt to consider when cooking up food that covered the entire kitchen.
"It was delicious mom, but I should get going! I'll miss my train!" Izuku said as he stood by the front door, his hand on the handle.
"Wait, Izuku!" Inko called out.
"hmm?" Izuku turned.
"I'm so proud of you! My baby boy's finally going to U.A!" "Moooom!"
She waved at his flushed face as he scurried out the door.
...
Seeing and stepping through U.A's gates once more was vastly different than it was on the day of the entrance exam. Instead of fear and doubt, he felt instilled with confidence like never before.
He was a student at U.A.
He kept repeating that to himself as he ran through the school halls, looking for his assigned class. The school was huge, modern, and elegant in design, nothing less from the top 1 hero school in Japan he supposed.
Better yet, the fact that the school's faculty was comprised of only heroes made staying on track an almost impossible endeavor.
"1-A... 1-A... 1-A!"
He stopped right Infront of a humongous door at the middle of a hall, with the words 1-A inscribed less than subtly on it.
In a few moments, Izuku's first day at U.A would truly begin, excited he was, unbeknownst to the tribulations laid ever so closely ahead of him.
His name was Jack Midoriya
His name was Izuku Midoriya.
A hero
He was going to do whatever it takes to become a great hero.
As fractured and... unstable as he was, more so than he'd like to believe. ...
