First of all, a disclaimer: I do not own the Harry Potter series, which is the IP of one JK Rowling; nor am I associated with Mrs. Grace Anne Parsons, the writer of the original Prayer and Miracles fanfiction. This is, in a way, fanfiction OF fanfiction. Please read and "like" her story first as mine will make more sense.

Hi all! My name is Gregory Clemmons. I am a Theology Major at an accredited Bible College (don't want to reveal TOO much, derp) and when I was a teenager, I went through the challenges many Christian teenagers went through. I am ashamed to admit I sometimes hid my convictions. My friends pulled up "Hogwarts School of Prayer and Miracles" to make fun of it… and I joined them. I convinced myself a story was bad just because my friends said it was!

I know that Mrs. Parsons was a beginning writer but Grace should be given there! She shouldnt be trolledm She was presenting the Gospel to an audience. When I came back to Christ and got saved for real, I read it again for myself and realized how much I like her take on the "Boy Who Lived".

I differ with her on some matters or theology but NOT on the essentials. I also don't believe that Harry Potter is corrupting or real witchcraft, as long as you know it's fiction! I understand hers and my own mother's hesitation, however. Even if JK Rowling ended up saying some pretty cool stuff. ; )

Also a warning; Parsons' story dealt with young children, and as such was appropriate for them, but because the characters are older I wanted to talk frankly about some harder issues here. I worked with teenagers at a camp last Summer and although some believers want to plug their ears and sing Koombya, these kids deal with things every day. It is ALL done through a Christian worldview and i wont do graphic detail, but parents of young children be advised, I do address sex, drugs, certain controversial political issues, sex, harsher Truths in the Bible, and world events.

I understand that Parsons got a little confused about the setting of her story; the series takes place in England, but she refers to Presidents and Constitution. Although I am proud to be American I also believe in the Great Commision to spread the Gospel to ALL nations. As such I will keep what nation THIS interpretation of Hogwarts takes place in vague.

Without further ado, HSoPaM: Freshman Year!

Chapter 1

Not A Boy Not Yet A Man

Harry's first year at Hogwarts School of Prayer and Miracles had been wounderous! He helped defeat the Dark Lord and converted both Draco and Ron to become Gryffindor hats.

Unfortunately, after the first year, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon used the court system to pull him out of school. How hypocritical it is of the Secular world to say they're "open minded" when it comes to other ideaologies but keep children from learning the Truth!

Harry struggled much at public school. Not in academics, mind you; Christian school and homeschool graduates do better on state tests than public school students do! It was, instead, that all-to-familiar temptation every teenage boy faces. The girls there were convinced, so sadly, that they had to wear revealing outfits just to be loved by a man. That they had to have sex with that boy for him to value her. But Harry knew that a woman's treasure was in her modesty. But his body was weak.

Harry was in public school for a few years and saw the world around him change! People were becoming even more hostile to Christians simply preaching the word! Atheists and nihilists were considered the default positions of TV characters!

After those long years, when it came time for high school, Harry caught the secular News while his Uncle and Aunt were watching. Though secular news has a liberal bias, he at least could gage the Truth from the lies it was wrapped up in.

Rita Skeeter, a liberal news reporter, said "Oh this is just horrible! We succeeded in ousting the President out of office, but his School Choice Bill went through! Now Christians are able to brainwash kids into their evil cult!"

Harry knew how to decode this; what she called an "evil cult" was the Church of God! And school choice meant he could choose where to go to school.

"Aunt Vernon, Uncle Petunia… I choose Hogwarts School of Prayer and Miracles!"

Before they could object, he left the house and waited at the tran station! As he did, he got a FaceTime from Dudley, who had attended Public School with him but unfortunately was taken in by many worldly teachings.

"Hey Dudley," Harry said kindly. "What's up, man?"

Dudley's video came on. There were flashing lights and a rap filled with vulgar language playing. A lot of teenagers behind Dudley were grind dancing. He held a beer.

"Youre at a party???" Harry asked inquisitively..

"Yeah cuz! First year rager!"

Harry hesitated to say what was on his mind. All the taunting of kids at school for being Christian wore him down. Plus, he didn't want Dudley to be offended! But he decided he'd rather offend Dudley than God.

"Dudley, that's not glorifying unto the Lord!"

"Relax," said Dudley, "It's just one beer."

"You are not of age, Dudley! We as Christians must obey the laws of the land as long as they don't infringe on my faith!" Harry said wisely.

"Yeah I get you." Dudley said dissapointedly. "I promise I won't go overboard again."

"Again? You should drop out of that sin den and come to Hogwarts! You're not being whi the Lord made you to be, Travis!"

Dudley said while drinking his beer, "It's not a sin to go to a secular school! Even my Dad said so! I still love the Lord, don't worry." Harry wanted to believe him, but his fruit lately had not pointed to it. Dudley had embraced lifestyle choices contrary to Scripture. Yet he still would go to church to play Christian?

The train arrived and Harry got on. He asked the driver, "Why are we on trains this year?"

The driver, Filch, said grumpily, "Prayers ain't workin like before. Some say its because Faith is weak. Others say the Lord is testing us with a Dark Night. I don't know, I'm an agnostic."

Harry's jaw almost dropped. Why would a non-Christian work at Hogwarts? Aren't there plenty of secular atheists schools who will take him? Harry would have to speak with the Reverend about this!

"Hey Harry!" Called a voice cheerily. He looked to the back of the bus and saw Ronald, his old friend from a Slytherin family and beamed. He had grown older and taller, lanky, and covered in acne. Some worldly people judge by outward appearance and waste money on cosmetics, but God knows that it is what's on the inside that counts so Harry knew that his friend was handsome where it mattered. (The heart)

"Ronald!" Harry ran to him and they had a godly embrace.

"I thought you were gone!" Ronald said. "Thank you again for leading me to the Gryffindor hat!"

Harry asked whisperedly, "Did your family throw you out?"

Ronald shook his head. "Even though we disagree on a lot we still believe in the same Jesus. Besides, a greater threat exists in the Church since you left."

"Is Voldemort and his army of atheists back? Or is it those hateful Ravenclaws?"

"No," said Ronald, "It was the Hufflepuffs all along! They accepted a Dark Gospel, lead by Woke Pastors!"

"Woke Pastors?" Harry asked. "Who are they?"

"They're lead by Hufflepuff apostates!" Ronald screamed. "They believe in salvation thru works, and that the problems in the world are caused by people doing bad and oppressive things, not by sin!"

"That's not the Gospel that Paul preached." Harry shook his head. He pulled out his Bible, which had been worn down and binder broken. Harry carried his Bible everywhere to be a light unto the world because of Matthew 5:14. He highlighted it as he wrote in his prayer journal, which he also carried with him. "We need to pray!"

"That's not all," Ronald said. "Did you see that Hagrid was elected President? He got tired of career politicians on both side caving to Marxism, so he took a stand for God! He was a great President! Unemployment was lower than ever, my dad had THREE jobs! And Christians were able to practice our faith!"

"Wow! Then why aren't prayers working?"

Ronald sighed sadly and ate one of his chocolate frogs. "Hogwarts was better than ever, but two things happened. One, the Hufflepuffs and some Slytherins got offended at some of Hagrid's off color jokes!"

"That is absurd! Hagrid is saved, but he's also a man! Men have to make off-color jokes sometimes! Why is everyone so sensitive??"

"And two," Ron continued, "The Basilisk."

"What's that?" Harry asked attentively.

"It's a giant, monstrous snake that somebody unleashed into the school!" Ron explained grimly. "We had to spend last year attending classes through the Floo Network, because of the threat. It can paralyze and even kill people!"

"That sounds like a good reason to stay inside," Harry said.

"The Basilisk is a real thing. But the Hufflepuffs overhyped it. In reality, the Basilisk is only dangerous to nonchristians and mudbloods (Christians who were not raised in the faith) and most of them don't even die! Yet they kept us inside and blamed President Hagrid."

"That's horrible!"

"Then they elected Cornielus Fudge to office. Now that he's in office, he's showing our enemies weakness and letting the secular congress take our rights!"

"Is he even a Christian?"

"He claims to be a Slytherin hat," said Ronald, "But he doesn't even follow THAT theology. And now Hufflepuffs run Hogwarts, preaching love and tolerance… but without Truth, these are empty platitudes. I'm sure some true Christians are there, misguided; but the majority are Apostates who love the World."

Harry stared at the window. This would be a challenging year

If you noticed anything in my story that resembles real-world events, well… let me just say, "He who has ears, let him hear."
