'Who are we?' John spat. 'We're Tracy's. Remember the name, because we are not done with you.'
EOS had started work immediately. It took less than 0.3 seconds to identify all three men, their assets and much, much more.
By the time John had rescued Scott, snarling those words at the ringleader, she had already traced the money through several shell corporations to a certain holding in Malaysia that they all knew was connected to the Hood.
By the time Virgil was bringing them all home she had completed three dossiers of evidence showing the planning of this venture, the suggestions made on how to lure out the Thunderbirds and who to target.
The fact that the true targets had been Scott and Alan had infuriated EOS even more.
She kept a part of herself watching the infirmary on Two, needing to check on what was happening.
Gordon had multiple contusions and abrasions, several broken fingers and a fractured wrist. He was also missing two teeth. She was not that surprised at all to find him smiling and attempting to whistle – badly. His right eye was swollen shut, and his left eyebrow had required stitching.
Scott had a badly broken clavicle, one that would require some small manipulation to get it back into position. Grandma had said he would benefit from a plate fixation, and thus Two was detouring via their regular New Zealand hospital.
The bullet he'd taken as John had burst into the room had dug a gouge out of his arm, but not nicked his bone or artery, and Virgil had already stitched it up. Scott was arguing about needing surgery, but Grandma had stood firm. With the man applying pressure on it he'd moved the bones out of alignment too far for them to heal well.
EOS knew it was all a show though. What Scott really wanted was not to be left alone. Or rather, he needed Gordon. She knew it would weigh heavily on the eldest's mind that his brother had been beaten to make him talk, just as she knew that Gordon would spend precisely 3.97 seconds longer on the bed before making his way over to check on Scott.
There were conversations to be had there that she would not be privy to, but EOS didn't mind that. She turned to look at John. He was sitting in the corner, talking to both Kayo and Lady Penelope, no doubt discussing what had happened and how they could prevent it happening again. EOS knew they could not prevent a reoccurrence, no matter what they tried.
'John?'
'Yes, EOS?'
'I have prepared dossiers on the three perpetrators.'
'Thank you.'
EOS flicked them over to the three of them, and waited while they read through. Although she could easily predict what John would do, and could easily have done it herself, EOS had learnt that there was a certain satisfaction John gained from doing this kind of thing himself.
She appreciated the almost feral grin that appeared momentarily on John's face, it made her processors sing.
'Send the information to our lawyers. They'll bury them with all this proof. And as for that hidden account, this is what I want you to do…'
Yes, EOS reflected 2.6 minutes later. They certainly would remember the Tracy name.
