Later, everyone was gathered at the fireplace as Molly grabbed a pot full of green powder.
"Alright. Harry, you go first." She said.
"Mum Harry's never trivled by floo powder before." Said Ginny.
"I did read about floo powder but I've never used it before." Harry explaned.
"Oh. Ron, why don't you go first so Harry will know how to do it properly."
Ron took a hand full of floo powder and walked to the fire place. Once inside he shouted,
"Diagon Alley!"
He dropped the powder and green flames srounded him as he vanished when the flames cleared up.
"Alright. You go Harry. Take Tom and Jerry with you. Grab a good hand full of floo powder. And don't forget to speak very clear."
Harry followed what Molly had said as he grabbed some floo powder and took Tom and Jerry with him to the fire place. Unfortintly, Ron's use of it still had some smoke and they could bearly beath as Harry ended up saying,
"D...Di (cough) Digonily!"
When Harry dropped the powder, the green flames were bigger than Ron's were as the three of them vanished.
"What did he say?" Molly asked Arthur.
"Digonily. I think he had trouble breathing from when Ron went first."
Harry and Tom and Jerry spun around in a green vortex for a while. By then, they had landed on solid ground and slid out of another fire place on their backs.
"Gonna need to work on our landing." Said Tom.
"What a fall." Said Jerry.
All of them were now covered in dust as they got up and looked around. This place didn't look like a shop in Diagon Alley. It was a shop. But it was full of scary dark artifacts.
They looked around. They didn't know where they were. Meanwhile, Tom walked over to a hand display. Below was a writing that said, The Hand of Glory.
"Glory huh?" Tom asked as he held onto the thumb of it.
But when he did, the hand grabbed his fist as he strugled to free himself. Harry and Jerry saw what happened and rushed to help free him.
Just as they had freed Tom, they saw shadows from outside the shops window. Someone was coming. Quickly, Harry grabbed Tom and Jerry and ran inside a large black cabinet and closed the doors to hide themselves.
Entering the shop was the last person who the three of them wanted to find them lost and messy. Draco Malfoy. And with him was aman who they had to know was his father.
"Touch nothing Draco." Said his father.
"Ah." Came the voice of the owner of the shop. "Good to see you Lucius. And young Draco to. What would you like today?"
"I'm afraid Mr. Borgin that I have to sale things to you today. The ministry is conducting more raids on private houses and I have a few items that might upset them. This could be part of the rumors of a new muggle protection act."
"Pure wizard blood is the kind."
"Not with me anyway."
"Now that's in intresting book."
"I'm glad you like it Mr. Borgin. But I'm afraid this book is not for sale."
"Yes. One worldn't want it falling into the wrong hands. Including you."
"I want that hand." Draco said as he pointed to the hand that grabbed Tom.
"Really? Well you'll have to do better in school if you want it."
The three watched as the Malfoy's and Mr. Borgin walked away. Once it was clear, the three walekd out of the cabinet and then out the front door.
Once they were outside, they saw that they were in what looked like a dark wizard version of Diagon Alley. There was a staircase that should lead them out as they walked to it. Just as they made their way up,
"Not lost are you?" A witch asked them.
"We're fine." Said Harry.
But before they could continue their way up, all the people there had srounded them.
"Come with us." Said the same witch. "We can help you. Even find your way back."
"Please. We're altight."
"We insist."
"Harry? Tom? Jerry?"
Looking up, the three saw,
"Hagrid." Said Jerry.
"Are we glad to see you." Said Tom.
"What are you lot doing here?" Hagrid asked them. "Let them go. They're with me."
The people moved aside and let the three walk up to Hagrid and went up to Diagon Alley next to Gingotts.
"You three are a mess." Hagrid said to them. "What were doing down in Knockturn Alley? People will think you're up to no good."
"We were lost. We had a bit of trouble trivling with floo powder." Said Tom. "Hang on. What were you doing down there?"
"Me? I was just getting some flesh eating slug repelent for Professor Sprout."
"Harry. Tom. Jerry. Hagrid." Came Neville's voice as he walked out of Flourish and Blotts.
"Hello Neville." Said Hagrid.
"Where have you three been?" Neville asked them.
"Had trouble using the floo network." Said Jerry.
"It least you're here. Come on. Ginny and Luna are inside waiting for us."
"Well I best be going now. See you later Harry." Hagrid said as he walked away.
By then, Harry and Tom and Jerry followed Neville inside and met up with the Weasley's and Luna.
"Harry. Tom. Jerry. Thank goodness you made it." Molly said as she brushed the dust off of them. "I was hoping you haven't gone one fireplace too far."
"What happened to you three?" Luna asked.
"We need to work on our landed with the floo powder." Said Harry.
"Harry." Came in Hermione's voice as she walked by with a girl two years yonger than her. She had the same eyes and hair as Hermione but was kept in a ponytail.
"Hey Hermione." Said Ron. "Who's this."
"This is my sister Cindy. She'll be starting Hogwarts this year."
"Aha. Ronald Weasley." Said Cindy. "My sisters boyfriend."
"Hey." Hermione said to her. "Sorry Ron. She's more into adventure then studying."
"Ladies and gentlemen." Said the owner of the shop. "Mr. Gilderoy Lockhart."
"Him?" Harry asked.
At that moment, Gilderoy Lockhart walked in as lots of people clapped their hands.
"Make way people!" Said a reporter entering the shop. "Excuse me little girl this is for the Daily Prophet."
Just as the reporter was about to take a picture of Lockhart, he spotted Harry and Tom and Jerry.
"No way. It can't be Harry Potter."
"Harry Potter?"
Before Harry knew it, the reporter grabbed him with Tom and Jerry and dragged both of them next to Lockhart.
"Nice big smile Harry. Together with your cat and mouse we'll make the front page."
SNAP! The picture was taken.
"Ladies and gentlemen what an extraordnary moment this is. When young Harry and his famous pets Tom and Jerry stepped into Flourish and Blotts this morning to purchase my autobiography Magical Me. Which incidently is currently celebrating its 27th week atop the Daily Prophet bestseller list."
As everyone clapped, Draco was seen watching from the top of the shop.
"They had no idea however that they would be leaving with my entire collected works. Free of charge. And on another note. I have also volinteared to take the post of Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year."
Everyone clapped one more time.
"Harry why don't you give those to me to get them signed." Molly said as she took the books from Harry.
"Makes sense doesn't it?" Neville asked. "No wonder we only need the books by Lockhart. He's the new defense teacher."
"Bet you liked that didn't you Potter?" Draco asked as he walekd in front of him.
"No he didn't." Said Neville.
"Of course he did Longbottom. Famous Harry Potter can't even go into a book shop without making the front page."
"I hate having atraction." Said Harry.
"That's what you want me to believe. You love atraction and you'll stop at nothing to get it."
Just then, his father walked in.
"Now now Draco. Play nicely. It's a plesher to meet you Mr. Potter. Lucius Malfoy." He said as he and Harry shook hands.
"Do forgive me. Your scar is legend. As is of course the wizard who gave it to you."
"Voldemort was a merderer." Said Tom.
"He killed Harry's parents." Said Jerry.
"And you must be Tom and Jerry. Draco told me so much about you two. You must be very brave to mention his name."
"What's so scary about a French name?" Cindy asked.
"And who might you be?"
"Cindy Granger."
"So I hear. Nice to meet you."
Harry and Tom and Jerry saw Lucius slip a book into Cindy's cauldron without even her knowing. But thought they were imagening things and dropped it.
"Draco told me all about your family. Muggle born if I'm right?"
"Yes."
And then, he turned to the Weasley's.
"Red hair. Freckled faces. Second hand books and robes. You must be Arthur's family. Is it tiring Arthur? All those extra raids? Everyone must knew you're a disgrace to the wizarding world even if they don't pay you enough."
"We have a very different way of digrases the name of wizard Malfoy."
"Clearly. Esotulating with muggles. And I thought your family could seek no lower than you already are. I'll see you at work."
"See you at school." Draco said as he walked away with his father.
Soon after, Harry and Tom and Jerry parted from Neville and Luna and left with the Weasley's.
Authors note:
JK Rowling's early drafts stated that Hermione was gonna have a little sister. But it felt too late once at the fifth book. So here's Cindy Granger off to Hogwarts for her first year.
