That night, Harry and Tom and Jerry were in Lockhart's office as they were signing pictures and letters from his fans.

"Harry. Tom. Jerry." Lockhart said to them. "Could you three think of a better way to serve detention than by helping me answer my fan mail?"

"We could clean out the trophey room." Said Harry. "Without magic which I'm used to."

"Then we should have ended up with Filch like the others did." Said Tom.

"Yeah. I'm sure they're having a better detention than we are." Said Jerry.

Just then,

"Come to me. Let me rip. Let me tear you to peaces. Kill. Kill! KILL!"

"What was that hissing?" Jerry asked.

"I heard it too." Said Tom.

"I'm sorry?" Lockhart asked.

"That voice." Said Harry.

"What voice? I didn't hear anything. And oh my would you look at the time. It's almost past curfew. I think you boys have done enough. Why don't you head on back?"

The three of them walked out of Lockhart's office and went on their way back to Gryffindor Tower.

"I don't get it." Said Jerry. "Me and Tom heard hissing and you heard somebody speaking."

"I'm just as surprised as you two are." Said Harry.

"Harry. Tom. Jerry." Came Ginny's voice as she and Neville and Luna walked in. "Where have you been?"

"Lockhart didn't keep track of time." Said Tom.

"Kill! KILL!"

"That voice." Said Harry.

"And the hissing." Said Jerry.

"What voice?" Neville asked. "I didn't hear anyone or any hissing."

Before they knew it, Harry and Tom and Jerry ran to where the sounds came from.

"Guys wait!" Ginny shouted as she and the others ran after them.

By the time they caught up, all of them stopped and spotted something odd. There was a line of spiders moving in a straight line out the window.

"I've never seen spiders act like that before." Said Luna.

"I don't like spiders." Said Neville.

"What's that?" Ginny asked as she saw something on the floor.

There was water on the floor. They even saw what looked like some kind of text reflected on it. They turned up and saw it writen on the wall.

"The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir beware." Jerry read it out loud before sniffing it. "it's writen in blood."

"Oh no." Tom said as he turned to a torch and something was hanging on it. "It's Filch's cat."

It was Mrs. Norris and she was there with her eyes wide open as she was hanging form the torch.

Just then, everyone form all four houses walked in and saw Mrs. Norris and the text. Colin was about to take a picture of it, but Percy held him back.

"Enemies of the heir beware?" Malfoy asked. "You'll be next mud-bloods."

"What's going on here?" Filch asked as he walked in. Until he saw the text and Mrs. Norris. "Mrs. Norris."

Before Harry knew it, Filch turned to him.

"You've merdered my cat." He said calmly.

"It wasn't me."

"I'll kill you. I'LL KILL YOU!"

"Argus?" Came Dumbledore's voice as he walked in with the teachers. Until he saw the text and Mrs. Norris. "All of you. Return to your dormitories right now. Harry. Ginny. Tom. Jerry. Neville. Luna. Stay here."

The six did as they were told and stayed where they are as the prefects lead their houses back to the dormitories. Once everyone else had left, Dumbledore walked over to the torch and grabbed onto Mrs. Norris and examend her.

"She is not dead Arguse. She has been petrified."

"Well good thing I'm here. I know just the counter curse to cure her." Said Lockhart.

"That will not be necicery Professor Lockhart." Said Severus.

"Ask Potter!" Filch shouted. "I know it was him! He did it because he knows I'm a squib and can't do anything about it!"

"That's why Filch hates students? Because he's a squib?" Tom asked.

"But we've never even been in his office." Said Jerry. "Except last year when we were taken to his office for detention."

"Yeah. Right. But we've never looked at anything in it." Said Tom.

"What makes you sure that he knows that Argus?" Dumbledore asked.

"He saw the Kwikspell letter that I dropped in Snape's office!"

"No second year student could have done that." Severus said again. "It would take more advance dark magic to preform this. And Harry is nowhere near that even if he was. Even if he knew you are a squib he'd do no such thing."

"I saw him do it! I wanna see some punishment!"

"Argus!" Severus shouted. "Harry would never go too far. He's more of his mother. If you ask me, he and his friends were just simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. But I do wonder why they were not at dinner."

"I wasn't keeping track of time with their detention." Said Lockhart.

"They had to be tought a lesson!" Filch shouted as he turned to Luna and Ginny and Neville.

"That doesn't give both of you the right to keep them from any meals." Said McGonagall.

"Do not worry Argus." Said Dumbledore. "Professor Spout, How long will it be until your mandrake is fully grown?"

"About to the end of the year." Said Professor Sprout.

"Yes." Said Dumbledore. "Once the mandrake are mature a potion will be made to cure Mrs. Norris. In the mean time, I strongly recommend caution to all."

Once at the seventh floor, Harry and Tom and Jerry told Ginny and Luna and Neville about what they had heard.

"Sounds only you three can hear?" Ginny asked. "A voice and hissing?"

"We heard them at Lockhart's office." Said Harry.

"And we know we heard them." Said Tom.

"Filch may be a Squib but his head is really full of Wacksperts." Said Luna.

"Enough about that for now." Said Jerry. "You think we should have told Dumbledore?"

"No Jerry." Neville said to the mouse. "Even in the muggle world, sounds that only you can hear is bad."

"I guess so." Said Tom.

Without another word, the six gave the password to the fat lady and went to turn in for the night.
