Many days have passed sense the six had gotten what they know form Aragog. Also sense Ron and Hermione got petrified, everyone finally stopped believing that Harry was The Heir of Slytherin sense he would never hurt his friends.
Speaking of, the six were in the hospital visiting Ron and Hermiome.
"I wish you were here right now Ron." Ginny said to her brother. "I hope you can hear me."
By then, Tom and Jerry had saw something on Ron's hand and grabbed it before Madam Pomfery walked in.
"I'm sorry Ginny. But you need to leave now. I don't want the monster to bardge in and finish what it started to these poor students."
As soon as the six left, Tom and Jerry showed them what they had found.
"A peace of paper?" Harry asked.
"I think this paper has just what we need to know." Tom said as he unrolled it. "This is why Ron and Hermione were in the library the day they were attacked."
"What does it say?" Jerry asked as Tom began to read it.
"Among many fearsome beast that roam the earth, there is no creature more fearsome and deadly than, The Basilisk. Capable for living hundreds of years. Instent death awaits those who meets this giant serpent by its eyes. Spiders flee before it. The venom form this serpent is the only thing powerful enough to distroy Horcruxes."
"That's it." Said Harry. "The monster in The Chamber of Secrets is a Basilisk. That's what I've been hearing it speak. It's a snake. Tom. Jerry. You guys heard the hissing of the Basilisk."
"But if it kills by looking at the eyes, why isn't anyone dead?" Neville asked.
"Because nobody looked directly at the eyes." Said Jerry. "There was water on the floor when Mrs. Norris was attacked. She only saw the Basilisks reflection like Ron and Hermione and Penelope did from the mirror which Hermione held for cover in case the Basilisk turned up. Colin saw it through his camera. Justin saw it through Sir Nicholas while Nick got the full blast. But Nick's a ghost so it's impossible for him to die again."
"But how could it be getting around if it's big?" Ginny asked.
"I think Ron and Hermione found that out too." Tom said as he pointed to a word writen in ink.
"Pipes." Luna read it. "It's going from the pipes."
"But how is that possible?" Neville asked.
"Remember what Aragog said?" Harry asked.
"The girl who died was discovered in a bathroom." Said Tom. "What if she never left that bathroom?"
"Wait." Said Ginny. "You don't mean,"
"Yes." Said Jerry. "Moaning Myrtle."
"Uh oh." Harry said as he looked at the wall. "Another blood writen message."
He was right. And this one was worse than the last one.
"Cindy Granger has been taken by the monster into The Chamber of Secrets." Jerry read it. "Her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever."
Just then, McGonagall's voice had spoken form the speakers.
"All students must return to their house dormitories at once. All teachers will meet me on the second floor corridor."
The six quickly ran hid themselves as the teachers had showed up.
"As you can see, The Heir of Slytherin has left another message." McGonagall said as she showed them the blood text the six had seen. "It is true. Our worst fear has been reaized. Cindy Granger was taken by the monster into The Chamber of Secrets itself. She was taken right from Gryffindor Tower. Not even the dormitories are safe. We must send all the students home. I'm afraid this is the end of Hogwarts."
Just then, Lockhart walked in.
"Sorry I'm late everyone."
"Actuily, you arrived just in time Professor Lockhart." Said McGonagall.
"So, young Cindy Granger was taken into the chamber?" Lockhart asked as he looked at the message.
"Yes." Said Severus. "In fact, your time has come at last."
"Mine?"
"Weren't you saying on Valentines Day that you knew all along where the entrance to The Chamber of Secrets is?"
"Yes. I know where it is."
"Well then that's settled. We'll leave you to deal with the monster Gilderoy." Said McGonagall. "Your skills after all are legend."
"Very well. I'll go and prepare myself in my office to take on the monster."
"Minerva." Said Madam Pomfrey. "Why did the monster take Cindy Granger?"
"I have no idea."
As soon as the teachers were gone, the six came out of hiding and went to Lockhart's office as well.
"So why do we need Lockhart?" Tom asked as soon as the six entered the Defence classroom.
"Lockhart may be useless but he's our best shot." Said Harry.
Just as they entered his office, they saw Lockhart packing his stuff up.
"Hello everyone. I'm sorry but I'm rather bissy at the moment."
"Are you going somewhere?" Luna asked.
"Augent call from the ministry of magic. Can not ignore it."
"But what about Cindy?" Neville asked.
"Well someone else can help the girl. I can't ignore a call from the ministry."
"You're running away arn't you?" Harry asked.
"Well I,"
"What about all those books about you?" Tom asked.
"Well books can be mistreated."
"Harry was right! You're a frod!" Ginny shouted.
"Those adventures. Those defeated enemies." Said Jerry. "You never did any of those things. You were just taken all the credit from what other wizards have done."
"As a matter of fact, you're all right. There is one thing I can do. I am rather gifted with memory charms. All those wizards who were suspishes of me had their minds wiped out by me or else I would have never sold another book again. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to do so with you guys now."
But before he could, Harry and Ginny and Neville and Luna pointed their wands at him as Tom Jerry held out their mallets.
"Don't even think about it!" Tom hissed at him as he snatched Lockhart's wand and gave it to Neville.
The six kept their weapons pointed on Lockhart as they entered Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. And just in time for her to see them.
"Hello Jerry." She said to the mouse.
"Uh," Was all Jerry could say at the moment.
"I'm sorry for the way I've treated you all year. You're not like all the other mice I know. You on the other hand are a very nice person."
"Uh thanks." Said Jerry in a very nervous voice. "But why did you hate mice in the first place?"
"My older brother loved using mice to play tricks on me. Almost every time, I wake up to find one crawling on me. I was scared of them sense. While I was at school, Olive Hornby, who teased my about my glasses, found out about my fear of mice and turned my sheats into one. I was so scared and upset I ran in here to the very stall I haunt. Just when I was thinking I should try and get over my fear of mice, I heard a strange voice speaking a langrage I couldn't understand. But I knew it was a boy so I opened the door and walked out of the stall and shouted, GO USE YOUR OWN BATHROOM! And then, I died."
"What do you remember when you shouted at him?" Jerry asked.
"I remember seeing a pare of great big yellow eyes over there by that sink."
The six turned to the said sink. They then remembered that no water came out of it when the bathroom was flooded. Harry walked over to the sink and examaned it. Until he saw a snake on the foset.
"This must be the entrance to the chamber." He said.
"Go on Harry." Said Tom. "Say something in parseltong."
"Open"
The top of the sinks then floated up as they then moved and seporated themselves from each other. Until, the sink that had the snake sank to the floor as a platform moved over it. Revealing a hole in the middle that leads to the chamber.
"Good work Harry." Said Lockhart. "I'll just be off now."
"You first!" Jerry hissed as he used his mallet to push him down the hole.
And down he went all the way to the bottom.
"It's rather dusty down here!" He shouted from below.
"Harry. Ginny. Tom. Jerry. Neville. Luna." Myrtle said to them. "If you guys die down there, I'll be glad to share my toilat with you."
"Thanks Myrtle." Said Jerry.
One by one, the six made their way down the hole and began to slide the rest of the way down. Until they landed on a pile of bones at the bottom.
"Alright." Said Harry. "If you seen any movment, close your eyes."
All of them moved around to find where Cindy was while Neville kept watch on Lockhart. Just then, they found what had to be the Basilisk.
"Is it really the Basilisk?" Luna asked.
"It's a snake skin." Tom said as he touched it.
"Over there." Ginny said as she pointed to what looked like a huge round door with snakes on it. "That must be where Cindy is."
But then, Lockhart reclamed his wand and pushed all of them together. Of course, he didn't know that he ended up grabbing Neville's broken wand instead.
"This adventure ends here! Everyone will know the story how I was too late to save the girl and how you six lost your minds at the site of her dead body! Are you ready? Say goodbye to your memories. OBLIVIATE!"
But because the wand was broken, the spell backfired and hit Lockhart instead and knocked him on his back. And then as he got up,
"Who are you guys? Who am I?"
"I think he was using your wand instead of his." Luna said to Neville.
"Quite a drafty place this is. Do you guys live here?"
Tom just knocked him out be slamming his mallet on Lockhart's head.
"Well he deserved it." He said. "Let's hurry up and find Cindy."
The six walked over to the door and like before, Harry had to say something in parseltong.
"Open."
A real snake slithered in and pushed the stone snakes back. When all of the stone snake were out of the way, the door opened.
"Oh my." Said Jerry as they all looked inside.
In front of them was a straight walk way with stone snake head stiking out of the water and all the way at the end was a huge stone head that had to be Salazar Slytherin.
But without hesitating, the six made their way in and followed the path tot he face. As they got closer, they can see a body up ahead.
"Is that Cindy?" Neville asked.
It was Cindy. She was lying right there out cold.
"Cindy!" All of them shouted as they ran to her.
By the time they aprotched her, they dropped to the floor as they ended up dropping their wands and Tom and Jerry dropped their mallets as well.
"Cindy are you alright?" Luna asked.
"Please don't be dead." Said Tom.
"Cindy wake up." Said Ginny.
"She won't wake."
At the sound of that voice, the six turned to see a boy about 16 years enter. Harry and Tom and Jerry knew who he was.
"Tom Riddle." Said Jerry.
"That's right." Said Riddle.
"Are you real?" Tom asked.
"A memory to be exact." Riddle said as he grabbed the fallen wands and mallets. "I've never seen those before."
"You have to help us with the Basilisk." Said Harry.
"It won't come until it's called."
"What are you doing with those?" Tom asked as he saw that Riddle had the wands and mallets. "Give them back."
"You won't be needing them."
"But we have to save Cindy." Said Neville.
"I'm afraid I can't do that Neville."
"How do you know who I am?"
"You see, as poor Cindy grows weaker, I grow stronger. How do I know you? It's because of Cindy writing about you in the diary. She's been writing in it for months. It was Cindy who opened The Chamber of Secrets. It was Cindy who set the attacks on the Mudbloods and Filch's cat. It was Cindy who wrote the blood messages on the wall."
"Why?" Luna asked.
"Because I told her to. You'll find I can be very persuasive. She thought of me as her friend without knowing she was giving away her lifeforce to me. She had no idea what she was doing. She was in, shall we say, a kind of trance. But the power of book began to frighten her and she tried to dispose of it in the girls bathroom. And who should find it but you. The six very people I was most anxious to meet."
"Why did you want to meet us?" Tom asked.
"I knew I had to talk to you. Meet you if I could. To you, Harry James Potter, Thomas Jasper Cat, and Jerry Jinx Mouse. I decided to show you my capture of that brainless oaf Hagrid so you can gain my trust."
"Hagrid's our friend and you freamed him!" Jerry shouted.
"It was my word against Hagrid's. Only Dumbledore seemed to think he was innocent."
"Then Dumbledore saw right through you." Said Tom.
"He then kept an annoying close watch on me after that. I knew it wouldn't be safe to open the chamber again while I was still in school so I've decided to leave behind a diary preserving my 16 year old self in its pages so that one day, I would be able to lead another to finish Salazar Slytheirn's noble work."
"Well you haven't finished it." Said Harry. "In a couple hours the Mandrake potion will be ready and those who have been petrified will be all right again."
"Killing Mudbloods doesn't matter to me anymore Harry. For many months my target's been you and your friends. Especially you. How is it that a baby with no magical talent was able to defeat the greatest wizard of all time? How did you escape with nothing but a scar while Lord Voldemort's powers were destroyed"
"Why do you care how Harry escaped?" Ginny asked. "Voldemort was after your time."
"No Ginny. Voldemort is my past, present, and future."
Riddle then used Harry's wand to carve letters into thin air. His name. TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE. And then, he swapped the letters and they now read, I AM LORD VOLDEMORT. And then it hit them. All six of them.
"You." Said Jerry. "You're The Heir of Slytheirn. You're Voldemort. But then if the diary has your memories, that must mean, the diary is a horcrux."
"So you know. Yes. My diary is one of the six horcruses I have made from my very soul. Surely you thought that I kept my filthy muggle father's name. But I fashioned myself a new name I knew that one day wizards everywhere would someday fear to speak when I became the greatest sorcerer in the world."
"Albus Dumbledore is the greatest sorcerer in the world!" Tom hissed.
"Dumbledore's been driven out of this castle by the mear memory of me!"
"He'll never be gone!" Luna shouted "Not as long as those who are loyal to him are around!"
And then at that moment, a sound of a Phoenix was head from the other side of the chamber. It was Fawkes as he flew in and dropped the sorting hat in front of them.
"So this is what the great Dumbledore sends his great defenders. A song bird and an old hat from my first year."
"I'm surprised you remember me Riddle." Said the sorting hat.
"So you remember me as well."
"Of course, I remember all the students that I've sorted sense the founders time."
"Well you can't do anything and neither can that bird. Because it's time to match the power of Salazar Slytherin against the famous Harry Potter and his team."
And then, Riddle turned to the statue of Slytherin's head.
"Speak to me Slytherin. The greatest of the Hogwarts four."
The mouth opened up and coming out of it was the Basilisk. The six quickly turned away and made a run for it before they ended up making eye contact with it.
"Kill them!" Riddle hissed at the Basilisk. "Parseltong can't help you now Harry! It only obays me!"
The Basilisk began to follow after the six as they tried to get away. However, all of them slipped on the water and fell over. Alouing the Basilisk to get closer to them.
But before it could bite them, Fawkes flew in and attacked the Basilisk by its eyes Until it was blind.
"NO! Your bird may have blinded the Basilisk but it can still hear you!"
With the eyes useless now, the six ran back as Harry grabbed the sorting hat.
"Quick sorting hat! If Fawkes can help us, maybe you can to!"
"As a matter of fact Harry I can. Just reach your hand into me."
Harry did so without questioning and when he did, he felt something made of metal touch him as he pulled it out. It was a sword.
"What in the world?" Riddle asked.
By then, the sword glowed and a blue line of light emerged from it as it got to Ginny and Tom and Jerry and Neville and Luna which soon became copies of the sword for them.
"No way." Said Tom.
As soon as they all had swords, they all quickly ran to the Basilisk and swang them as hard as they can. Ginny and Luna went for the tail, Tom and Jerry were hitting the middle, and Harry and Neville were taking on the front.
"Try all you like! Your swords will do no damage to the Basilisk!"
But Riddle was wrong. The six had managed to scratch it a bit. By then, the Basilisk had turned to Harry though it can't see him. The others used their swords to distract it and get it away from him.
But the Basilisk couldn't take it anymore and used its tail to knock them away as Tom and Jerry flew to the front. And then, soddenly, the cat and mouse ended up under the Basilisks mouth as it bit Harry.
"Harry!" Ginny shouted.
Harry can feel the venom flowing through him as he dropped the sword. But just as he did, Tom and Jerry ran by and grabbed it and with a good aming, they tossed the sword as hard as they can and it hit the roof of the Basilisks mouth.
"NO!" Riddle shouted.
The Basilisk went out of control as it then fell on its back and its blood covered eyes had shut. Never to live again.
As soon as it did, the sword fell out of its mouth as its fang that bit Harry was removed as he yanked it off of him.
"It's amazing out quickly the venom flows through you." Said Riddle. "You'll be with your mudblood mother soon Harry. And within a few minutes, Cindy Granger will be dead. And I will return to power. Once I do, I will destroy every last muggle in the whole would."
"You forgot one thing." Tom said as he grabbed the diary.
"Funny how much damage only a little book and cause."
"But there's something you don't know." Tom said again as he grabbed the fallen fang.
"What are you doing pussy cat?"
"Basilisk Venom is the only thing that can kill Horcruxes."
Then Riddle knew what Tom was up to.
"DON'T YOU DARE!"
Riddle rushed to stop him but he was too late. Tom slammed the fang into the diary. Making Riddle scream as his body began to cover up in a gold light as ink went out of the book.
Tom moved the fang into the book harder and harder until a small hole was seen in the middle of the book. Making Riddle explode as the horcrux in the book was destroyed. Never to be used again.
As soon as Riddle was gone, Cindy opened her eyes.
"Harry. Tom. Jerry. Ginny. Neville. Luna." She said when she saw them. "It was me. Riddle made me do it."
"It's alright Cindy." Said Ginny.
"No it's not. I've cause all this trouble. I was looking forward to coming to school with my sister. Now I'm going to be expelled and we'll have minds wiped of the wizarding world. It's all my fault. And Harry you're hurt. I should have never wrote in that diary."
"It's alright CIndy." Said Harry. "Riddle tricked me and Tom and Jerry too. He made us believe Hagrid was the one who opened the chamber. Hagrid's our friends and within that time I had the diary, we believed Riddle. Cindy, Riddle was munipulative. He had all the teachers whapped around him and was a modle student at the time. The only one he couldn't fool was Dumbledore. It was Voldemort who did this Cindy. Not you."
The way Harry had put it, Cindy began to feel a bit better as Fawkes flew next to him.
"You did a great job Fawkes." He said.
By then, Fawkes looked down at Harry's arm. Tear drops fell form his eyes as they hit the wounded spot. Harry began to feel the venom wear off and his arm was feeling better. By then, Harry wasn't hurt anymore.
"Of course." Said Jerry. "Phoenix tears have healing powers."
"Oh Hermione's gonna be angry I petrified her."
"No she won't." Said Neville. "It's all a memory now Cindy. I'm sure Hermione will understand."
Cindy smiled. She knew that Hermione will understand once she's all better.
Later, all of them with the addition of Lockhart were flying from the help Fawkes out of the chamber and all the way to Dumbledore's office.
