Meanwhile, Izzy was indeed heading for Bridlewood but was having flashbacks of the adventure she had with Sunny and everyone. She remembered how she met Sunny and how crazy everypony acted seeing her for the first time. She couldn't help but chuckle at the thought now. She remembered how Sunny became her friend in almost no time at all. However, this caused Izzy to wonder. "Was she only wanting to be my friend because I was a unicorn? Did she stay with me so she could gain a magical friend?" Izzy shook her head vigorously. "NO! She isn't like that. Not at all. I at least know that. I mean her sparkle was so bright when she met me, Zipp and Pipp. There was no way she could hide that happiness. But what about Zipp and Pipp?"
She thought back to their meeting. She could believe Zipp would become a friend quickly since she seemed to not care about what a pony was and only cared about who the pony is. Pipp is pretty much the same way even if she does get pushed by the crowd sometimes. She just couldn't believe either of them would pretend to be her friend.
Hitch was another story. He obviously disliked her for the longest time. Always doubting her, blaming her, and being mean to her for no real reason. When she thought about it, why would he be friends with her now? Did he really have a change of heart or did he just want to agree with Sunny? She may have not talked to him much but something just told her he was not one to lie or pretend. The friendship she felt must be real. They all must be real. Right?
Eventually, Izzy stopped walking and found herself crying to herself. She just didn't know what to do. She was just so confused and scared to be left alone again. She didn't want that. Eventually, she wept out loud, "why couldn't things go back to how they were! Back to the time without magic."
Then from a distance behind her, she heard, "IZZY!" She turned around and saw all four of her friends running to her. Each one looked exhausted from all the running.
"G-guys? W-why?" she said through the tears.
"Well, we were worried about you," Sunny said.
"You left so suddenly. Are you ok?" Zipp said.
"Are you hurt?" Pipp said, rushing to her to check to see if she was hurt.
"I'm fine. Sorry." Izzy said, still feeling sad.
"What is it, Izzy?" Sunny said really worried for her friend.
"And what was that 'wanting to go back to the time without magic.'?" Hitch said bluntly.
Izzy couldn't answer. She was so scared to reveal her feelings. What if her worries were true and they left her. She couldn't bring herself to say it.
"Izzy," Sunny said looking very worried. Everyone was also very worried.
Eventually, Izzy felt she had to at least try to speak. After all, she really wanted to believe they were her real friends. "I don't know…" she stopped herself, still feeling scared.
"What?" Pipp asked.
" I don't know how to tell if you guys are still my friends!" She blurted out, causing her to cry again.
This stunned all of them.
"Of course we are. Why would you think otherwise?" Sunny said gently.
"It's just I never had friends before. I don't know how to be a friend. I don't know how to keep a friend. I don't even know how I became your friend. I was worried I was wrong and we weren't really friends or at least not anymore."
"That is silly Izzy," Pipp said with a hug. "We are your friends. We were before magic and we are with magic."
"Yeah. And who cares about how it happened. All that matters is that it did happen." Zipp said.
"Izzy, we will always be your friends. I thought of you as a friend the moment I met you. And I felt our friendship grow throughout our journey. Even if we didn't have magic I would still want to be your friend." Sunny said going in for a hug too. Izzy then looked at Hitch, curious about what he had to say.
"It's true I didn't really want to be friends at first…" Hitch looked at Izzy and with a genuine smile said, "...but I am glad we are."
Izzy couldn't help but burst into tears but this time not from sadness but from joy. She was so happy her worries were wrong. She was so glad her friends followed her and said they were indeed her friends.
"I am sorry for ever doubting you." She said feeling a little guilty for her doubt.
"It's ok. Just next time you have a worry, tell us instead of wandering off." Sunny said.
"I promise," Izzy said, hugging her friends tight.
When Sunny and Pipp saw that Zipp and Hitch were not included Pipp grabbed Zipp and Sunny grabbed Hitch for one final group hug.
Once that was done they all headed back home with Izzy feeling proud that her first real friends were with them.
