Theodor Nott was twisting in pain when he opened his eyes to see Ekrizdis sitting beside him. Red eyes were piercing him while Demian looked scarily calm.
"Help!" Nott screamed. "He's gonna kill me!"
Demian did not move, waited till Theodor realized no one would come to his aid.
"Listen! I'm sorry! It's because of Veela, you hear me? She bewitched me! I could not overcome it. You are a man! You should understand!"
Demian raised his hand, and Nott fell quiet.
"Think well before you test my patience again." Ekrizdis waited until he was sure that Theodor was not going to talk anymore. Then, he continued. "Do you know what I've planned for you? To torture you till you faint. Then, bring you back to your senses only to start it over and over again, till your own bitten tongue would not choke you. Then, to hang your corps on top of Hogwarts so high that Dumbledore himself would not be able to put it down. After, to get to your family, father, even your little brother and feed them to my Dementors. So everyone knows what happens to someone who dares to lay a finger on Elvein!"
Crisp white bedsheets colored into yellow and urine stench covered the air.
"But I would not do that." Demian continued: "And do you know why? Because of Elvein. She made me promise. But I would have probably broken my word if she was not standing right behind the screen." Demian's hoodie's eyes switched to the curtain for a second. " So listen to me closely, bastard. I have a task for you. Tell everyone, strangers and ones you know, ones dead and alive, not to DARE to look wrongly at Elvein's side. Or else, first, I'm going to come to you and make everything I've told you to come true, and only after that, I'll go after them. This is a promise!"
Demian's face came close to Nott's crying one. Then stood up and left the Hospital's wing with Elvein by his side.
The girl did not know which room they were in. She was not thinking of herself anymore, not being able to take her eyes from Demian. Ekrizdis sat quietly, petting his hands-on Elvein's wounds, healing them one by one. She was biting the inside of her cheek to hold tears at bay. She looked at the young man and wanted to cry thus that day; rotten Nott destroyed something not in her but inside him.
Elvein took her hands out of Demian's grip. Ekrizdis took a step back, not sure if he could touch her in this condition. She approached Demian, hugging him, hiding her face in his chest. Finding comfort in an attempt to disappear in his warm body. Ekrizdis stood like a column, only after a few breathes he hugged her back:
"I'm sorry... Please forgive me.. my fault. Sorry for leaving you here. I should not have left... I should have seen it coming.. my fault." He kept mumbling, his breathing fast.
Demian, stop it! I'm fine. Look at me! I'm fine! Nothing has happened to me. He could not... I did not let him... I'm only yours."
"Mine!"
Elvein was stunned. Realizing that she was the one pouring fuel in flames of Demian's madness. But she could not take those words back.
"Demian, I love you. I am fine. Please calm down."
His scary laugh made her shudder:
"My love! I am the one who should be calming you! See? I failed in that too!"
She just shook her head. Not having enough strength left to argue, she asked:
"Please don't leave me tonight."
Demian looked her in the eyes and nodded.
"Come with me."
"No. I can't. You stay."
What could have Elvein possibly asked that Demian would have refused? She took his hand and went into her bedroom with the already invisible Ekrizdis. Her neighbors were long gone into a deep slumber. She laid on bed with her clothes still on, tugging Demian with her and closed curtains.
Ekrizdis lay behind a teary girl, petting her hair. Elvein did not mourn herself, but Demian, whose childish, pure part was buried by Nott's hands.
"Is your Patronus wolf?" Where did this come from, she did not know.
"It was." Answered Demian that exact moment when a tired and numb girl swam into the depths of sleep.
