Justin Finch-Fletsley was scared. Actually, he had been scared pretty much all the time for multiple years. And it was all the fault of one boy.

He had met Ernie McMillan on the Hogwarts express in his first years, and they had become best friends almost immediately. At the end of their second year, he had started to act a little strange, blushing when they were together for no apparent reason and staring dreamily at him when they were in class. He also seemed to lose his free will, just accepting everything Justin suggested without a second thought. In their third year Justin had realized what was happening, and not long after Earnie had asked him out. He didn't really have any feelings for Earnie, not in that way, but he was actually kind of cute, and he decided to just accept it, they could always break up if he didn't like it.

That's when everything went downward. Everything felt great in the beginning, he actually started to like him. But after a while Ernie became a little too obsessed. He wouldn't leave Justin's side at all, practically sitting on him when they ate dinner in the great hall and cuddling with him when he was trying to do his homework. It had gotten a little annoying, especially since he had nowhere to go where Earnie wouldn't follow him. They were in the same house, same dormitory and same classes. His grades had been dropping significantly. Every time he had tried to break up with him Earnie's eyes had started tearing up and he had looked so sad that Justin couldn't do it. Then he just acted like it was a joke, to make him happy again, and then regretted that he hadn't done it for days afterward. He just hoped that after this summer, he would become a prefect. Then he could do his homework and avoid Ernie by being in the prefect's bathroom or the new prefect's study room.

He sat on a chair in his kitchen, staring at the window. The perfect letter is supposed to come today. They were also an excuse to get Ernie to finally go home. You wouldn't want to miss your letter, right! Ernie had been hanging out with him in his house for over two days, and his parents probably wanted him to come home soon. He had finally walked out, but promised to come back tomorrow. Justin had just nodded and tried to look happy about it. This was his only chance. But as the sun started to disappear on the horizon, he still hasn't got a letter. He sighed deeply and turned to go to bed, when he heard a tapping noise on his window. He swirled around, suddenly excited again, and saw a brown owl waiting outside. He swung up the window and grabbed the letter. But there was no Hogwarts crest on it, just his address. He slowly opened it, hoping that it was just a mistake. When he read the letter his heart sank.

Guess what Justin!

I'm a prefect! I can't believe it! My parents gave me this owl as a celebration gift! I really thought you were going to become prefect, but I can allow you into the prefect bathroom, to get some privacy you know;)

Your love, Ernie McMillan

Justin flopped down on his bed in utter defeat. He couldn't believe that Ernie was a prefect! He hadn't even had time to do his homework because the only thing he did was follow him around like a dog! But Justin hadn't really been great in school either, but that was only Ernie's fault. He couldn't stand this any longer, he needed to break up with Ernie in this instance!

He jumped up on his bike and started cycling. He couldn't wait, if he didn't do it now, he would never do it. He got there in 30 minutes, and parked his bike outside their fence. They had a pretty big house with a beautiful garden. They weren't the richest wizard family, but they were far from poor. He walked up to the door, the small pebbles crackling under his feet. He knocked on the door and waited. The door opened up moments later. Ernie's father stood there.

"Hello Justin." His voice had a tint of coldness to it.

"I need to see Ernie!" he was panting heavily, and probably looked a bit desperate. He cringed. He didn't want to look like a lovestruck boy in a romantic teendrama.

"I think it's a little late for that, wasn't he coming over to you tomorrow?"

"It's too late tomorrow, I have to see him now! I'll be quick!" he added.

Mr. Finch-Fletchley sighed heavily and opened the door a little more to let Justin in. He took off his shoes and placed them in a straight line beside the others and went up the stairs to Ernie's room.

"Come in!" called Ernie's voice from the other side of the door. When he opened the door and Ernie saw that it was him, his face brightened up and jumped up from his chair. He walked over to him and threw his hand around Justin's neck, kissing him passionately. Justin swallowed and pushed him away. Ernie let go of his neck and looked hurt.

"Ehm, I need to tell you something…" Justin began.

"Wait, I'll just go and get some tea and cookies!" he walked out of the room before Justin had a chance to say anything else. Justin didn't want any cookies, but he sat down on Ernie's bed to wait anyway.

He came back after a few minutes, with a tray that had multiple sorts of cookies and a teapot with matching cups. He started pouring tea in the cups.

"Do you want sugar or milk?" he asked.

"No, thank you, about the thing I wanted to tell you…" Ernie interrupted him again.

"First you need to taste this tea, it's from India, we were there on vacation this summer, I really didn't want to go, because you weren't allowed to come with us, but it was actually kind of fun!" he gasped for air and handed a cup to Justin.

"That's fun, but I…!

"Taste it!" he pushed the bottom of the cup against Justin's mouth and Justin had to open his mouth not to spill the hot drink everywhere. He swallowed and continued. It actually tasted kind of good.

"What I was going to say was that…" he trailed off suddenly distracted. Ernie's smile suddenly was so beautiful, and his hair too, his entire being was so beautiful he couldn't resist! He practically threw his cup on the bedside table, spilling some tea in the process and then he threw himself at Ernie, digging his fingers into Ernie's hair and kissing him. He dragged him onto the bed and continued kissing him. Ernie smiled another one of his beautiful smiles, but this one looked a little like a smirk. Eh, he probably just imagined it. As they continued kissing, he saw the tea he had spilled on the bedside table. It looked kind of strange, it had pearly white swirls in it and it smelled beautiful, like his mom's newly cooked lasagna an his cat. It was strange, but he didn't really care, he was too occupied right now, and it was no way he was going to stop any time soon.
