Chapter 17: How to Ride an Extreme Gear.

It soon became clear that some of the Guardians of Light were going to start their training while those such as Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss, Manny, Ellie, Diego, Shira, Cosmo, and Cream(much to her disappointment and at Amy Rose's urging), would be staying out of it. After the declaration and a bit of tea and lunch, the group went out to buy suitable Extreme Gear for the Sailor Team who would be racing, while Tails and Chuck got to work in building Gears for the young kitsune himself, Sonic, Amy Rose, and Knuckles.

Afterwards, while Prime bought one for his own to show his friends, they all stood in the middle of a clearing near the city as he stood in front of Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, Knuckles, Serena, Darien, Amy, Raye, Lita, Mina, Sakura, Ash, Pikachu, Sora, Riku, Kairi, Misty, Brock, May, Max, Rini, Dawn, Piplup, Casey, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Sid, Brooke, Buck, Crash, and Eddie while the rest of the group stood by the side watching.

"Okay, first off, what do you know about the Extreme Gear?" Prime spoke up, sounding like a coach at a camp.

"We all know that they can fly. But I don't think any of us know that much." Sonic shrugged.

"Can you tell us how it's done, please Prime?" Sakura requested, holding her hand up as she would when she used to go to school.

The blue hedgehog nodded.

"Alright. For an explanation, Extreme Gear are capable of allowing their rider to fly, or at least hover, at high speeds. It required the use of Air as fuel, This fuel is used for using speed boosts to accelerate the rider to high speeds, these are known as "Air Boosts" or "Kick Dashes". Air is also used, for drifting and dropping miniature tornadoes to trip up rivals. The Extreme Gear each come with a variety of unique abilities, such as the ability to grind on rails, glide through the air or improve their own attributes, smash through obstacles and barricaded paths. To refuel Air, you have to perform trick when you are about on the Trick or kicker zone, use your skill section such as grinding, smash through barricage path, grab the air power up in the item box or arrive at an Air Pit terminal to replenish the Air. There are various types of extreme gear such as Board, bike, and Skate." Prime finished explaining.

While Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, Amy, Brock, Riku, Mickey, Sakura, Darien, Raye, Lita, Buck, and Brooke began to understand, the rest of the trainees looked really puzzled and confused.

"Any questions?" He then asked.

"Uh...Can you repeat that?" Eddie asked, clueless.

Most of the Guardians who did understand all toppled over with exasperated groans anime-style, while Prime facepalmed himself with a sigh, willing himself to remain calm.

"Maybe it'd be better if you demonstrate for us, Prime, please?" Sora suggested instead.

"Alright. First, we're gonna need an obstacle course so I can show you guys what you're up against." Prime nodded, deciding it would be better since words alone for those who didn't understand what he said would be a better idea.

"I can help with that. The Create Card." Sakura suggested.

Moments later thanks to her holding Prime's hand and focusing on their thoughts to briefly show Sakura what she needs to create for a limited time, she called forth her Star Sealing Staff and brought out the right card.

"CREATE!" Sakura chanted, and with that in the thankful large field they were in, the card's magic with her thoughts and Prime's instructions, a huge large platform was formed.

All around it was like a racing car track but a bit more futuristic, with roads in slight twists and turns, a beginner's course close by, loops and ramps high up and low, railings that stopped and started in each gap, other ramps made for speeding up, and even a starting/finishing line. Most of the Guardians of Light, Cosmo, Cream and Cheese all breathed in awe at the race track created just for them for training.

Sonic whistled. "Now this looks way past fun and super cool. Just my kind of thing."

"It does look pretty good." Diego admitted, a bit uncomfortably. He thanked his wishing stars for passing up on entering the race.

"Oh, this won't be a thing for the future." Manny scoffed, not really impressed.

"I'm...suddenly having my doubts about this." Serena muttered nervously as she saw just how twisted and high and difficult even the beginning race track is, sweating bullets slightly.

"Thanks, Sakura. Now, I'm going to show you how it's done, so pay very close attention, alright?" Prime nodded, and when his 'students' did, half of them suddenly very nervous, the blue hedgehog backed up a bit, then ran forward to get the encaused speed, then tossed his new Extreme Gear slightly in the air as it hovered before he leaped on half a second later and sped off across the difficult race track, much to the amazement of the guardians while Team Sonic, having seen the Rogues do the same thing, watched on impressed.

Like surfing or snowboarding, Prime flew across the race track downward first as he didn't even touch the road but it did help to keep him levitated. The blue hedgehog then flew up to the ramp and was flown straight up higher in the air.

"YEAH!" Prime exclaimed, performing an air boost and kick dash, flipping around as he grasped the side of his board with one hand while doing a somersault before descending and landed safely back on while continuing to ride across the track. "Yahoo!"

He then flew straight over a booster ramp which made him go even faster for a few minutes before returning to normal speed, repeating the previous stunt on another large ramp, but rather than return to the main track, he was about to hit a railing which made everybody else gasp in shock and horror.

"Prime, look out!" Sakura screamed out.

But they didn't need to fear, as Prime then turned his board side-ways and landed on the golden railing and began to grind across high and low, hopping off before he reached the end of the gap and landed on the other side, continuing to grind, repeating the process before returning to another main road. As he passed the finish line completing the first lap, he almost repeated the process but then he came across targets that were set up and spun around creating mini tornados, bashing the fake obstacle courses away, and when it came a barricaded path, he smashed his way through without crashing and used the air ramps to refuel the air.

Before long, he passed the second lap and onto the final one, and while he repeated the two previous stunts, Prime then choose a different path, this time leaping up into the air via two more high ramps, grinding his way and bashing into the Air Pit terminal to replenish the Air as well as the item boxes that Sakura also created. Even before he finished up the second lap the Guardians of Light and their friends were so amazed that they began to cheer on in excitement and amazement. By then he passed the finishing track for the final time and flew over to his friends before pulling to a stop and leaped off.

"And that's how it's done." Prime responded, smirking.

"WHOOOOOOOAAAAA!" Most of them exclaimed.

"Prime! That was incredible!" Sonic exclaimed, excitedly. He'd seen Jet do it before, but the way how his older self has done it was way more amazing than his bitter rival's skills. So much so that if the green hawk was here, he'd be so jealous.

"That was so cool! I didn't know you could do that!" Sakura said in awe.

"I've had practice in over the years." The older Sonic chuckled.

"Dude! That was awesome!" Crash exclaimed, totally amazed. "It reminded me of how Ven rode his Keyblade Surf-board thingy!"

"Me too!" Eddie agreed.

"Uh, guys? Ven's board is called a Keyblade Glider..." Rini corrected, before realizing. "Hey, that was almost just like that, but without transforming a Keyblade into one!"

"Oh yeah! I forgot about the Keyblade Gliders! Too bad Ven, Terra, and Aqua are the only ones who can do that." Sora remembered.

"Awesome!" Ash exclaimed.

"Pika!" Pikachu echoed.

"I see. So the two share a similarities with each other, only the Extreme Gear were created by hand with certain types of material." Tails realized.

"Exactly." Prime nodded.

While Knuckles was impressed this time as he'd never paid much attention to the Rogues, he couldn't help but ask curiously. "Still, how can a plank like that just float?"

"That's easy to explain." Tails spoke up as he understood more. "According to Kutta-Joukowski Lift Theorem, the control surface flow is balanced by the kinetic of the..."

However while Amy, Max, Darien, Riku, Brock, Brooke, Sonic and Buck understood, the more Tails explained, the more the others became extremely dumbfounded and confused. Goofy tapped the side of his head, Sora scratched the back of his head, Crash and Eddie both stood there clueless, Mickey stood there blankly while sharing a glance with Sakura, as did Lita, Mina and Raye, Sid tilted his head slightly to the side, Donald began to quiver impatiently, Ash rubbed both sides of his head while trying to understand but was failing miserably, Serena began to become so dizzy over this explanation she almost passed out along with Rini, the eyes of May, Dawn and Casey twitched, Amy Rose and Kairi were just confused, and Knuckles grew even more impatient and confused that his eyes spun around to the back of his head and back to normal until finally he couldn't take it anymore.

"STOP!" Knuckles screamed, interrupting in sheer annoyance. "I get it, okay!? It just floats and that's good enough for me!"

"It's easier to read a phone book." Serena muttered to herself, as she felt like her head was about to explode.

Prime shook his head with a sad smile, which made the teenage echidna glare at him. "And what's with you?"

"Sorry. It's just that, my Knuckles asked and said the exact same thing, whereas my Tails tried to explain what Tails here just tried to tell you guys." The blue hedgehog shrugged. "I will warn you that keeping your balance and staying upright as well as making sure you don't lose control won't be easy. So, are you all ready to give it a try?"

"Yep! Let's do it to it!" Sonic declared, excited to give it a shot. At the same time, though, given what he'd seen and really concentrated on his older counterpart's movements, he knew that he had to be careful.

"Right. Sonic, I want you to go first. Just focus on the basic race track and don't try any of my movements just yet. Just do one lap for now." Prime advised.

The younger blue hedgehog nodded and headed over to the training more basic race track, while thinking to himself. 'Focus on keeping your balance, stay upright, and don't lose control. Come on, Sonic. Pay attention and don't let overconfidence and cocky attitude distract you. This isn't like regular snowboarding.'

Narrowing his eyes with determination, at the signal, Sonic backed up a bit, before running forward and just like with Prime, he tossed the Extreme Gear into the air and leaped on, wobbling a bit before quickly regaining his balance and attempted to stay afloat. It felt a bit awkward at first, but the fifteen year old hedgehog focused on the flight, balance and speed.

"Sonic, slow down, lean slightly forward at the corner to make a turn!" Prime instructed loudly.

"Right!" Sonic nodded, reaching around the corner and even slowed down a little while grabbing the side of his board, leaning carefully and made the slight U-Turn to the left. Unfortunately, that left him to end up nearly falling over as despite he tried to keep his balance, to his and everybody else's arm he ended up spinning around in a loop. "Whoa whoa whoa! Whoaaa!"

As Sonic tried to get back into balance, he ended up colliding against the barrier wall and was flown off of his gear screaming. He topped and rolled as he landed on the ground, face first. The board in the meantime fell near by with the power turning off.

"SONIC!" Amy Rose, Serena, Tails, and Sora cried out as they and Prime hurried over to see if the teenage blue hedgehog was okay.

"Uh oh..." Manny murmured, sharing a worried glance with Sid before they and everyone else rushed over as well.

"...Ow." Sonic groaned, pushing himself up as he rubbed his head which ached and throbed a little, and then sat to regain his senses. "Yep...Definitely not like riding a snowboard."

"Sonic! Are you okay?" Tails asked worriedly, he and everyone else gathered around him.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Guess I was a little too..." Sonic trailed off, as a sudden realization hit him. He lowered his gaze slightly in growing guilt and disappointment. "...Too overconfident again."

'Guess it goes to show that even I was careful, I was still too overconfident. I thought I could do it even at my first try.' The fifteen year old thought to himself. He had been so close in not letting it go to his head. He thought he could manage it if he was careful enough. But he hadn't been.

He jumped a little out of his thoughts when Sonic felt a gentle gloved hand rest on his left shoulder, and looked up to see that it was Prime who gave him a supporting, calm and caring smile.

"It's okay. You can still try again. It isn't easy, but that doesn't mean you should give up trying." The older blue hedgehog reassured.

Even though the younger blue hedgehog felt guilty for failing the first time as he was normally a fast learner with very good balance at his first try at anything, the fifteen year old realized that his older counterpart was right. So he nodded and narrowed his eyes, standing up and went to retrieve his Extreme Gear.

"You're right. I can't give up yet." Sonic declared, attempting to force down his guilt and disappointment even as his friends wanted to give him comfort. Their expressions of concern made him wave his hand and smile softly, silently thanking them for their support even though he didn't need it.

"You sure you okay, Sonic?" Serena asked, worriedly.

"I'll be fine. Just gotta need practice." The hero of Mobius reassured, speeding off back to the starting line of the race track. While he felt bad for worrying all of his family and friends, the cobalt speedster knew that he had to keep trying, this time willing to focus more on his balance and speed rather than simply wanting to try out the more cooler tricks.

As he did, over, his eyes mentally widened in realization. Since seeing Prime do that, Sonic found that he was so impatient that he wasn't giving himself the time to focus on more of the basics yet. His heart sank a little over that realization, but he shook it away. He couldn't let his negative feelings get to him now.

To find his balance on the board, like his light and darkness within his heart, he had to find the balance there, just like King Mickey once taught him as the Keyblade Master had trouble in his younger years, and has taught Sakura how to create a magical shield inside herself to prevent her powers from going out of control.

'Okay, maybe if I find my balance and figure how to feel with the Extreme Gear, maybe that'll help.' Sonic thought to himself, narrowing his eyes as he was determined to not mess it up this time.

"Ready to try again, Sonic?" Prime called out from the side.

"Yep! Let's do this." The hero of Mobius responded. Taking a few steps back, he then tried again and raced forward before hopping onto his board and repeated what he did before he ended up crashing the last time.

Seeing the corner coming up, Sonic was ready this time. He slowed down and grabbed the side of his board, this time focusing on keeping his balance and his board's engine from accidentally tumbling, making the slight U-turn.

This time, the blue hedgehog successfully stayed on and quickly regained his balance while narrowly avoiding in colliding with the barrier wall and quickly floated upright while flying forward again, increasing his speed which felt so much like his running speed, and felt a pump of excitement and success flow in his veins. He passed the air ramp which boosted his speed a little, making him feel all pumped up.

"Take to the ramp and try to land on the board without crashing!" The older Sonic instructed.

Nodding, the younger Sonic flew straight towards a lower ramp that only half as low as the one on the more dangerous course and was flown up, increasing his speed thanks to the speed ramps.

"YEAH!" Sonic shouted, gripping the side of his board again and, memorizing Prime's movements, he did an impressive first time somersault with his Extreme Gear and landed neatly on the gear again despite a bit of a tumble but managed to not fall off this time once he reached the track again. "Yaaa-hooo!"

While his friends had been worried, they all breathed a sigh of relief and were amazed as Sonic managed to succeed this time. Once he reached the finishing line, Sonic pulled over but just for fun he held on and kept his balance for a bit, smirking with a thumbs up while his friends applauded.

"How's that?" Sonic asked, now feeling confident as long as he remembered not to fall off this time.

"That was awesome, Sonic!" Amy Rose cheered happily.

"Good work, buddy. Just keep practicing on that one and then I'll show you more of the advance skills." Prime praised, proud of his younger counterpart's second well done try, and was quite relieved that Sonic actually focused and paid attention. He then turned to other trainees. "Now, let's start with everybody else. Ready?"

'I'm really having second thoughts about this.' Serena sweat dropped, feeling like she was going to fail miserably.

While Sonic decided to keep on practicing to get into the rhythm and carefully learning the more basic tricks of Extreme Gear from Prime, Tails had a bit of a stumble a few times as did Amy, while Knuckles ended up going for the bike Extreme Gear which felt pretty good for him, everyone else...

Well...

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ash screamed in fright as accidentally made his Extreme Gear go a little too fast, narrowly avoiding some of the obstacles, but ended up spinning around so much that the young Pokemon Master fell off and crashed into a bush just near the forest and his board went flying before it flew straight into the air before falling back down...

And accidentally hitting Manny on the head with a loud 'clang!' despite the Mammoth attempted to catch it.

"OW!" He shouted in pain, before the board slid off and landed on his trunk which he gripped the board and groaned. "Hey!"

"Ugh...Sorry, about that." The sheepish twelve year old boy rubbed the back of his head, while lying awkwardly in the bush as Fiona and Ellie helped him out.

"Are you okay?" Ellie asked as she and Fiona pulled Ash out from the bushes.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Man, riding an Extreme Gear is harder than it looks..." Ash sighed, shaking away the leaves that got stuck on his clothes.

"You're not the only one having problems." Fiona pointed out as she, Ellie, Ash and even Manny who rubbed his head after putting the board onto the ground.

On the track in the open, the rest of the trained Guardians were trying their best, but they were having slight or major difficulties. Amy Rose wobbled a bit before she was about to fall and screamed loudly when her Extreme Gear took her a bit too high, much everyone's horror as they saw. Sonic, who was still practicing while Prime was slowly starting to teach him the slightly more advanced skills, saw this and gasped.

"AMY!" Sonic shouted, and without thinking he flew over on his Extreme Gear and despite nearly falling over, he managed to catch her in his arms and held her to his chest, much to her surprise as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Don't worry, Ames. I gotcha."

"You're my hero!" The pink hedgehog beamed happily, blushing with her eyes sparkling.

By then, Sonic lowered his board to hover over a few inches off the ground and leaped off, gently putting his self-proclaimed girlfriend down. "You alright?"

"I'm okay. This is harder than it looks." Amy Rose sighed, placing a hand onto her chest. "As much fun as it was, I thought I was about to crash."

"Yeah, the Rogues and Prime made it look too easy. As the saying goes, looks can be deceiving." The blue hedgehog scratched the top of his head in agreement.

For the Sailor Scouts, Amy, Lita, and Mina were having trouble just to slow down and spun around before they nearly fell over, Sora, Riku, Mickey and Kairi were wobbling and ended up having to take it nice and slow, Prime then raced to Sakura and helped her to keep her balance despite her excellent athletic skills, and he smiled softly at her, causing the young Cardcaptor to blush a little with a smile of gratitude in return.

"WhoawhoawhoawhoaWHOA!" Goofy screamed as he was spinning around and ended up falling off straight towards another bush, screaming. "YAAAA-HOO-HOO-HOOOOIEEEEE!"

The Captain of King Mickey's Royal Knights crashed into the bush head first with his legs sticking out, making most of his friends wince with sympathy.

"Ah, this is too easy." Donald remarked as he managed to successfully had his Extreme Gear to hover. "I'm flyin'!"

Sadly, he spoke too soon, as his Extreme Gear ended up speeding up too fast that he was flown back and forth out of control, causing the white mage to scream in alarm while trying to hold on before he was thrown off and screamed loudly. He ended up crashing into a tree and was left dangling by his shirt stuck on a branch, and his board stuck on top of the tree itself.

"Aw phooey!" He grumbled in annoyance.

While Buck did a bit better despite he, Brooke and Darien fell off as well as Sonic did earlier, they were surprisingly okay. Misty, May, and Brock though wobbled before falling off and all groaned, finding this to be really hard. Serena, her legs shaking as she did manage to keep her balance and her Extreme Gear hovering, felt like she really should stay well out of this.

"Okay...K-Keep your balance, Serena...Not too fast, nice and steEEAAAAIEEEE!" She screamed as she accidentally hit the accelerator and went so fast that she went flying all around in circles out of control. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! HELP! Somebody turn this thing OFF!"

Raye wasn't doing any much better, as she ended up hanging on for dear life while flying around in circles. "WAAAAHHHH! How do you stop this thing!?"

The two teenage girls were flying up and down, around and around, and flew around like they were bees or flies, and their friends watched on with worry until the Moon Princess and one of her Guardians were flying back down...and straight towards each other.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Serena and Raye both screeched in panic.

"LOOK OUT!" Sakura shouted in worry. But it was too late.

CRASH!

The two Sailor Scouts hit each other head first before crashing onto the ground and their boards lying next to them. They were seeing stars circle their eyes with their eyes comically swirling as they groaned, completely dazed. Most of their friends sweat dropped before groaning with sympathy.

"I think maybe Serena and Raye should stay out of the race." Maya commented uneasily.

"Yeah, they may be more experienced as Sailor Scouts than us, but they're not experienced with sports as much at all. Especially flying hover boards." Tiffenie agreed, awkwardly.

Just then, Crash and Eddie, flying on their own tiny boards, were flying pretty much everywhere just for the fun of it until they fell off and crashed face first onto the ground next to Tails and Knuckles who both winced. A moment of silence and just as the eight year old cub was about to ask if they were okay, the twin Possums instantly got up excitedly and high-fived.

"That was awesome!" Crash exclaimed happily.

"Let's do it again!" Eddie added.

"Uh...I guess you're okay then, huh?" Tails muttered, a bit uncomfortably.

"If they do this often as kids, no wonder they're dumb." Knuckles muttered under his breath.

"Hey, guys! Check this out!" Sid's voice called out, causing all of the Guardians and their friends to look up and saw the male sloth fly around as though he was riding a snowboard...a little too high up in the air. "This is what I call Balla-Ala-Sid!"

"Wait, Sid! You shouldn't be going that high up yet!" Prime shouted warningly, as he almost instantly knew where this was going to lead.

"Come back down here, Sid! You'll get yourself killed!" Manny shouted, irritated that his idiotic friend was doing something stupid once more.

Unfortunately, as predicted, Sid unknowingly hit the faster mode and he was about to fall off when he, realizing his mistake, quickly grabbed on and was flown away...far from Uncle Chuck's place and straight towards Mobotropolis, screaming girlishly.

"Uh oh...Gotta save Sid!" Sonic exclaimed, turning to Prime. "I'm gonna need your help since I'm still practicing, but we have to go after him!"

"Right! Let's go!" Prime nodded.

The two blue hedgehogs quickly jumped on and while Sonic was still getting the hang of his Extreme Gear, he was thankfully getting better already and followed his older counterpart to go after Sid while the rest of the group stayed behind, praying that things would be alright.

"Do you think your friend Sid will be alright?" Alena asked, worriedly.

"Ah, he'll be fine. This happens to him all the time." Diego said, exasperated.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Sid screamed hysterically, hanging on as his Extreme Gear flew past and over the trees, and while his paws held a tight grip on the board, as he flew through the forest, his head was then repeatedly hit by a random branch over and over again. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! OW!"

In Mobotropolis, the citizens were going about their daily lives when they all heard a high-pitched scream just as the sloth came flying over, catching all other Mobians' attentions and all wondered in shock what was going on, with Sid screaming hysterically. "HELP! Somebody get me off of this thing!"

As the crowd watched on, they all then saw him coming straight towards them and the outdoor shop stands, causing the people to scream and panic as they tried to move out of the way while Sid saw this as well and gasped in horror, before squeezing his eyes shut when he then flew and crashed through the stands, with would-be sold items and fruit flying everywhere.

"We're coming, Sid!" Sonic cried out as he and Prime flew out of the forest while carefully navigating through the woods before they eventually emerged and entered the city, in a more careful speed and balance.

The two blue hedgehogs flew past the people and winced at the damage Sid had accidentally caused, knowing that this was going to be a clean-up job once things have calmed down. The heroes then dodged the flying and broken pieces with the people, seeing the teenager on the Extreme Gear, were amazed and relieved to see him but were surprised to see another hedgehog that was a mirror image of him, only older.

"There he is!" Prime pointed upward, and true to his word, the sloth was now about fly straight towards the castle...to the council meeting room window!

"OH NO!" Sonic shouted in horror while his older self softly gasped, before the two Sonics shared a glance and nodded with determination and flew up higher.

"Sonic, to maneuver and slow down, bend low but be very careful with it! Otherwise you'll end up crashing too." The older Sonic instructed.

"Okay!" The younger Sonic responded with a thumbs up, and went on full speed ahead with his friend. Though in truth, he was nervous and worried that he might accidentally crash into the window himself, so he had to put his full trust into Prime.

Sid in the meantime saw where he was going and gulped nervously, knowing that he was about to get into much bigger trouble. Inside the council meeting group, a group of Mobians of the Government were discussing a few things when they heard a faint sound of an unfamiliar girly scream.

"What's that sound?" One of the Councilmen asked, confused.

When he and his fellow councilmen looked, they all gasped in shock when they saw...a sloth on an Extreme Gear coming straight towards them in high speed and didn't appear to be stopping! They all began to panic as a large Mobian Polar Bear, about Shrek's height, muttered worriedly. "Uh oh...Time to go!"

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! LOOK OUT!" Sid screamed hysterically.

But just as the councilmen ran to get out of the room, and the sloth was just about to crash through the window, in just a nick of time, Sonic and Prime both flew up and the cobalt teenager caught Sid by the arm while hero of the Omniverse quickly grabbed hold of the Extreme Gear and instantly turned it off, hovering just about a few inches from the window, the blue hedgehogs hovering to a stop and all three of them, after a moment of silence, all sighed in relief.

The Mobians inside the room, once realizing they didn't hear any crashing or glass breaking, hesitantly re-entered the room and saw Sonic holding onto Sid and...another Sonic holding an Extreme Gear? They stared in shock and disbelief, yet full relief that the hero of Mobius had come to save them. The two blue hedgehogs and the sloth looked through the window and, seeing them inside, all sweat dropped sheepishly.

"Sorry!" Sonic apologetically called out.

"Sorry." Prime echoed.

The younger blue hedgehog then turned to Sid and grumbled, "Sid, you really should think more carefully next time instead of acting. You could've hurt yourself even more and gotten other people hurt too."

Knowing that the teenager was right given his prone for causing accidents, Sid cringed in guilt, and muttered to both his friends and to the people inside the room who glared disappointingly at the sloth. "Sorry about that."

"Extreme Gear isn't an easy thing to do, Sid. Next time, listen to the instructions before you do any stunts you're not familiar with." Prime scolded the sloth firmly, and Sid gulped before nodding quickly.

Sonic tried not to wince as, while he was just as annoyed with the sloth of the Sailor Team messing up, the words coming from his older self made him become scared again. Even though the strict words were directed to his Ice Age friend, the fifteen year old knew that he had to listen to instructions as well.

Forcing himself to calm down, the blue hedgehog then sighed. "Well, we'd better head back and then help to clean up the mess in the city."

Once his two friends nodded in agreement, Sonic once again apologized to the councilmen before he carried Sid and flew off with Prime who carried the Extreme Gear, leaving the flabbergasted Mobians to stare out in shock and awkward silence.

"Why was there a hedgehog that looked like an older Sonic?" A Mobian Sheep asked, blinking.

As the trio began to fly back to Uncle Chuck's place, they heard an annoying familiar voice call out to Sonic, getting the two hedgehogs' and the sloth's attention and looked to their left. To their dismay, Jet was flying in on his Extreme Gear, performing expert stunts and flips before, surprisingly, carefully slowed to a stop and flew alongside the heroes.

"What was your smelly friend doing? Trying to ride an Extreme Gear for a circus?" Jet asked sarcastically.

"Not now, Jet. We're heading back to my uncle's place." Sonic grumbled, glaring at his rival. "But if you really wanna know, we're training for the race and decided to all use Extreme Gear."

The green hawk narrowed his eyes, before noticing how the blue hedgehog seemed to have a good balance and smirked, admittedly very impressed, especially with how Prime was going it just as well. "Not bad for your first flight, hedgehog. If your cousin is teaching you, then I gotta say you at least have gotten the hang of it."

"Thanks." Sonic smirked back, a bit surprised for the rare compliment. "But don't think I'm expecting you to go easy, and I'm gonna train until that race and get the Chaos Emerald."

He then narrowed his eyes and grunted. "And you'd better not do any of your dirty tricks again, Jet. If you want to win, then we're gonna have it fair and square, no cheating!"

Realizing that Sonic was expecting this given their history over the years, Jet narrowed his eyes and nodded. "Fine, but while you're okay on the Extreme Gear now, your clumsy friend is a big joke! The mess he made is the proof. See you then, Sonic the Hedgehog!"

With that, the Babylon Rogue leader flew away, leaving the two hedgehogs and the guilt-ridden sloth to head back for home. But as they did, Prime frowned deeply and lowered his gaze a little in deep thought.

This was going to be tricky for everyone.

Short time later after the two hedgehogs and the sloth returned to the rest of the Guardians and due to the mess Sid made, the Guardians of Light, Cosmo, Cream and Cheese, Prime, and Sonic's family agreed to head back into the city to help clean up and pay for whatever accidental damage there was, much to the annoyance of some of them but they knew they had no other choice. Thankfully it was minimal compared, but it was a bit costly. Fortunately, Uncle Chuck was kind enough to pay for all of it, but Sonic requested his uncle to only pay one half while the teenager paid for the other, feeling responsible for it all.

"Thanks a lot, Sid." Raye grumbled, as she helped to pick up the scattered broken pieces on the ground along with other volunteers. "If you hadn't gone and tried to show off with no actual skills in this sort of thing, we wouldn't be delaying our training to clean up!"

"I said I was sorry. Can't accidents happen?" Sid shrugged, still feeling guilty for having caused this to happen, placing broken pieces of things and scattered fruit into the garbage bag he was carrying.

"Not if it's 24/7." Manny grunted in frustration. Of all the idiotic things his friend had done, it had to be like this.

"Come on, guys. It's not that bad. Plus it isn't easy riding an Extreme Gear." Ash tried to point out, despite his own annoyance but he knew that as long as nobody got hurt, that was the important thing.

"He has a point. I'm sure things will be alright once we're done here." Sakura agreed.

"We can continue training after we've cleaned up. How does that sound?" Darien suggested, and the others were about to agree when they all heard a gurgling sound...

Coming from the stomachs of Serena, Ash, Sid, May, Tiffenie, virtually almost everybody else, much to their embarrassment.

"...And probably after we all had something to eat too." The Prince of Earth added, sheepishly.

"I could go for a Cheeseburger right now." Ash sighed, rubbing his belly.

"Maybe we try the Meh Burger? Surely they couldn't get that wrong, right?" Serena suggested, pointing at the aforementioned restaurant.

Though when they all turned to the seat joint and almost instantly remembered what the Babylon Rogues ended up having earlier, they all sweat dropped in horror because some of the costumers there had cheese burgers...but had no burger patties or even lettuce or sliced tomato.

"Hey, I ordered a Cheeseburger, pal! This is just a cheese sandwich with one slice!" One angry costumer, a human man, yelled at the chef while gesturing at the said plate of food.

"...Maybe not." The Sailor Team and Team Sonic all murmured in slight fear.

"Oh! That's just ridiculous! Can't that place ever get any orders right?" Amy Rose asked in sheer annoyance.

"I'm surprised they even managed to stay in business considering how they can't get everything right." Brock commented uneasily.

"If I ever manage to run my own restaurant, I'd make sure nobody would get their orders messed up." Lita facepalmed herself.

Just then, while they were continuing to clean up Sid's mess, and were just about done, Sakura noticed something on the sign outside of the Meh Burger and, curiosity getting the better of her, she approached and read it before her eyes widened in surprise.

"Hey, guys! Check this out!" The thirteen year old Carcaptor called out, getting her friends' attentions as they all approached(except Kero who was hiding in her bag once more).

"What is it, Sakura?" Riku asked.

"Look at this. They're offering a free day job for today only." Sakura pointed, making her friends look for themselves.

""For anybody who wishes to fully experience of chef duties and to show off their cooking skills which ever way they have, you can sign up for free and show off our top chefs to experience and learn from newer students for future recipes for Meh Burger. For limited time only and the number limited people are five and no more."" Sora read aloud.

"Cooking skills?" Brock murmured in interest.

"Sign up for free?" Lita added, blinking.

The Guardians all shared a thoughtful glance, before an idea formed in their minds, especially with Brock and Lita having much better cooking skills than the people at the Meh Burger.

An hour later...

After finishing up in cleaning and Sonic apologizing to the crowd along with Serena who wanted to take full responsibility for Sid's mistakes, and even Prime saying that he made a mistake for not teaching the sloth not to do that, while the people of Mobotropolis, annoyed as they were, forgive the two teenagers and the twenty-one year old and the sloth for their actions, most of the group including Sonic's parents and uncle waited outside while Lita, and Brock signed up and were given instructions how to serve up lunch and dinner, telling them that it would be difficult.

Boy were the professionals at the Meh Burger were greatly surprised, because the two teenage young chefs did everything accordingly and even more so, making several kinds of dishes and even cleaned up after themselves. The actual chefs of the restaurant were flabbergasted and felt like they were the ones who needed training, because truth be told, they were pretty lazy.

"I've never seen two young students cook this much and normally it takes five people to cook for our customers." One of the head Chefs, a Beaver, remarked, bewildered.

"Well, it pays off for learning how to cook when you're living alone." Lita said happily.

"And taking care of your younger five brothers and four sisters." Brock chuckled, causing the chefs to flinch in shock.

"Don't worry, everybody. Food will be done soon!" The Jupiter Sailor Scout called out to everybody including the Guardians, who were all in a bit of a trance.

"I can hardly wait..." Serena moaned, as the scent of the cooking made her and the others even more hungry.

"Man, that smells really good." Ash sighed.

Minutes later, everybody in the restaurant were very surprised as they all got their orders in the nick of time with the help of the Guardians serving, including Sonic, and to make things better, it was exactly what they ordered! The citizens of Mobotropolis thanked Brock and Lita, who after that served their friends their orders of actual Cheeseburgers, Chili Dogs, hot dogs, scrambled eggs, salads, even roasted steak and mash potatoes, everything including the married couple's best dishes.

"Well, dig in!" Lita happily announced.

"There's plenty of food, so don't be shy." Brock added proudly.

"Thank you, Lita, thank you, Brock!" The Guardians, Cosmo, Cream, Prime, Nick, Alena, and Uncle Chuck, and even the rest of the costumers thanked, and dug into their meals. Just as the heroes had predicted, it was delicious! All around strangers were complimenting the delicious food the two had made, and the rest of the Guardians their others were just as happy.

"Oh my! This is delicious!" Alena commented.

"You were right, Sonic. Your two new friends have definite talent." Nick agreed to his son, who chuckled.

"I agree. I haven't had such a wonderful restaurant meal in years." Sir Charles added.

"Told ya." Sonic smiled happily, taking a slow bite out of his Chili Dog, due to respecting the family manners.

"You really like it?" Lita asked as she and her husband blushed bashfully, the latter scratching the back of his head.

"What's not to like?" Ash chuckled happily.

"If anybody can open up a yummy restaurant, you'd be you and Brock, Lita. Ayhuck!" Goofy pointed out, smiling as he then took another bite out of the delicious pasta.

But as they ate and the people once again thanked the two young chefs for having a huge success, Prime, while finding the food just as good as always, was deep in his thoughts about what occurred today and what Sonic had said to Jet. Given the older blue hedgehog's history with Jet Prime back in his old world, he knew that they would have to be careful. Yet it was the younger blue hedgehog's words that really caught him slightly off-guard.

"And you'd better not do any of your dirty tricks again, Jet. If you want to win, then we're gonna have it fair and square, no cheating!"

Maybe Prime really had been worrying over nothing with Sonic, and instead of making things better by preventing his youngerself from going through the same tragedy and mistakes that he did, he was just making things worse by frightening the hero of Mobius and the Guardians of Light who had all been through all shorts of dangerous adventures besides what he did:

Early on, they fought against evil forces from the Negaverse and the Realm of Darkness, evil aliens threatening to destroy everything, changing history and preventing the destruction of Time, facing evil spirits while saving good spirits, traveling through time and space in separate occasions, fighting against cruel companies and immortal pirates, facing not one, but three or four evil gods such as Bhunivelze who was the true cause of the War months before and all of the years, creating Chaos who without the Protomateria would choose hosts such as Galaxia and Xehanort, Hades who was more of a nuisence than a terrifying threat and Solaris whom Sonic fought against all by himself.

Eggman obviously but no Metal Sonic(Not yet at least and Prime hoped it would never happen), criminal Organizations on Earth, giant monsters accidentally created(though that was on King Mickey's Great-Uncle's part due to unfortunate curiosity but Retro-Mickey did clear that up a decade later), a monstrous colossal sized King of all Bahamuts, a dangerous Martial Artist who used spirits to form a giant monster after failing to get the Devil Gene, everything up to this point in facing Absu while still facing the Ascians who are the other main biggest threats of the Realm of Light.

Sailor Moon, Sakura, Ash, Sora, Sonic, King Mickey, Cloud, and all of their friends and allies, and even former enemies who had a change of heart, all went through so much, first on separate occasions, before eventually meeting to become who they are today as a family, saving all worlds and Time and Space against all odds, despite the losses they had to endure and very close calls.

'I never should have yelled at Sonic like that. It was my own fear and ignorance that caused everybody to begin to now doubt themselves. I just wanted to make sure they wouldn't get too overly confident because there will always be forces stronger than their previous foes. They can do what I can't, and couldn't.' Prime thought to himself, mentally sighing. While he knew that Time was fragile, one look at both Rini and Lusie who were happily talking to Max, Donkey, Luna, Crash and Eddie, Cream and Cosmo, maybe everybody's future here will be much more better than his former home.

But it was still better to make sure nothing went wrong.

Meanwhile, Eggman, still lamenting over his recent loss in Mazuri against the Guardians of Light and Sonic Prime, with his Fortress fixed up, back up and running, was tracking down the heroes to find them as well as the Chaos Emeralds in order to capture Sonic's older counterpart and steal the Rainbow Gem for himself.

"Those hedgehogs and that Moon brat...They think they can keep on getting away, but they won't be escaping me that easily!" Eggman growled in frustration, seated in the cockpit.

"To think that we have lost to not one but two of Sonic again..." Decoe complained, facepalming himself.

"The correct assumption is three of Sonic in a short span of this year alone." Bocoe pointed out with an exasperated shrug. "One in our dimension, two in this one with the third coming from yet another."

"That is true. Plus we have also dealt with two of Sailor Moon as well." The yellow robot lamented.

"Stop chitter chatting and get to work!" The evil scientist snarled as he suddenly appeared next to the duo, frightening them as they recoiled.

Though before either one could even get to work, the News broke out getting the trio's attention with Eggman growling in annoyance, as Bokkun had been attempting to keep tabs on any sightings of the Chaos Emeralds. To their surprise, it viewed the newly rebuilt Mobotropolis, with a yellow Chaos Emerald in protective glass on display for the city's once in a lifetime Extreme Gear Race, with images of the Babylon Rogues appearing.

Then came the reports of Sonic and all of his friends having been spotted earlier and that Jet the Hawk has challenged the hero of Mobius for a race.

"Sonic and his friends are in Mobotropolis!" Decoe exclaimed.

"Isn't that those Babylon Rogues who once helped Sonic to beat us one time last year in both timelines?" Bocoe wondered aloud.

"Who cares about those bird brains!?" Eggman shoved his two pathetic minions to the side. "There's a Chaos Emerald on display!"

As the evil scientist listened in on the Newsfeed that Sonic would be participating for the Emerald, an idea formed in his mind as the hero of Mobius would probably wouldn't waste his precious time for a silly Extreme Gear Race, but probably would want to get the Emerald anyway.

"Perhaps it's time I played a little bit of a fair dirty game, and make sure Sonic Prime doesn't race." Eggman snickered with an evil grin, confusion his two minions as he continued. "While Sonic and his friends race for the Chaos Emerald and I enter it myself, and taking you two with me, we set up a plan to capture Sonic Prime the Hedgehog and then snatch the Chaos Emerald without anybody getting in the way."

"How are you going to convince Sonic Prime to not enter the race, doctor?" Bocoe asked.

"Heh heh heh...By giving them a little robot to convince those Kinter-Guardians and their petting zoo with a robot not even they would expect." The evil scientist declared, grinning.

"Wait, you said said..." Decoe trailed off, before he and his shorter friend gaped in horror while sharing a glance.

They then hugged each other and wailed. "We don't wanna race!"

This was going to be a disaster. They just knew it.

A few hours later back in Mobotropolis, the Guardians of Light and their group returned to Uncle Chuck's home to continue training.

But as they did, and they were all starting to get slightly better at it, Prime was just thinking about what happened today, while feeling proud that his friends who were participating were getting better at it already...except Sid who was 'grounded' for a moment due to what happened until he learned not to pull off any more stunts.

"Okay, I think that's enough training for today." Prime announced to his temporarily students, who most of them all sighed in relief, while those like Crash and Eddie, who were trying their experience, grumbled in disappointment, and those who had trained hard understood.

"Ugh..." Serena sighed, leaning against a tree. "If I ever manage to get this right before the actual race in two days, it would be a miracle."

"Who would thought that riding an Extreme Gear was harder than it looked?" Misty asked in exhaustion, despite having learned a lot so far and had a lot of fun. It was the balance and speed that got to her.

"Yeah, especially when we only have two days of training." Sakura sighed in agreement.

"Well, at least we're making a good progress so far." Darien stated, before muttering in concern. "It's the Babylon Rogues we should be really worried about."

"You're right, and if I know them, they might pull something off to caught us off-guard and cheat so that they can win the race." Tails murmured in agreement, taking a break long enough before he would check up on everybody's Extreme Gear.

Sonic nodded in agreement, his arms folded to his chest. "I already warned Jet not to do anything to cheat, but if I know him, he'll probably do something to win the race no matter what. Given our history together with those guys, I don't wanna take any chances."

'Especially when we have to be a lot more careful.' The cobalt teenager thought to himself, lowering his gaze while unintentionally remembering what Prime said earlier to Sid.

"Extreme Gear isn't an easy thing to do, Sid. Next time, listen to the instructions before you do any stunts you're not familiar with."

While he had been a good leader to Team Sonic, and to the Freedom Fighters and had actually listened to instructions and paid attention to the warnings Sonia would telepathically give him through nightmares and visions which helped him to change the future, Sonic knew deep down he wasn't good at listening to instructions as much as he thought he was.

His older self Sonic Prime the Hedgehog learned that one the extremely hard way. Sonic didn't want the same thing happening to him or any to his friends and family.

"Well, you know as they say, "Struggle in a War of Love, and Fair is Not all"." Mina incorrectly pointed out.

That only made everybody else stare at her in bewilderment and awkward silence, with crickets chirping in the background.

"I think what you're trying to say is "All's Fair in Love and War"." Ellie correctly deadpanned.

"Um, I don't understand what any of that means." Cosmo said, more than a little confused.

"You'll get used to silly things like that, Cosmo." Amy Rose sheepishly explained.

"Aw, I don't think we should worry about the Rogues. We can win this race, no problem!" Sora said confidently. "There's more of us than it is of them."

"It won't be easy, Sora." Kairi pointed out, worriedly. "Prime is the only one who ever raced in Extreme Gear Grand Prix."

"Plus Jet, Wave and Storm also have more experience than we do, even after all the training we've done so far." Riku nodded in agreement.

"Well Me and My Jet were mostly rivals against each other most of the time when we were racing Extreme gear. Sometimes I win, Sometimes I lose but most of the times I race with him ends in a Draw." Prime said.

"Well, it all started when my Tails, Knuckles and I went to Future City, looking for the Chaos Emeralds that were located there. We geared up a little to blend in and Tails was trying to scan it, when we heard a loud crash of glass breaking and there we saw, our world's version of the Babylon Rogues who had stolen the Chaos Emerald. We gave chase, and managed to knock Storm over for a little bit." Prime began.

"Ha! Serves that creep right!" Knuckles grinned, and while he wished it happened to this world's version of Storm, the red echidna was satisfied enough to hear Storm Prime suffer that embarrassment.

"Yeah, like you, my Knuckles and Storm were really heated rivals." The blue hedgehog chuckled. "Anyway, when I saw them ride on their Extreme Gear, I had the crazy idea of chasing them at their own game. So I snatched up Storm's board and flew after Jet, and he was a little impressed with that. But he managed to catch me off guard by flying over me and knocked me over before he and his crew got away with the Chaos Emerald."

He then proceeded to explain the events that went on after that night. That Eggman Prime had secretly hired the Babylon Rogues to defeat Sonic Prime and his team(much to the Guardians' shock as Sonic exclaimed. "Your Eggman hired those guys!? That's just low!") thus Team Sonic Prime decided to enter, with Amy Prime having entered as well, and Wave Prime secretly planted a small explosive on Sonic Prime's board while making fun out of Tails Prime so that the Rogues can cheat and win the tournament, ("Ugh! Who does she think she is!?" Amy Rose growled, and Sonic hissed in agreement. "Yeah, how could she chis Tails like that?" while Tails lowered his head, his heart sinking despite that all of this already happened). In a few rounds Sonic Prime, Tails Prime and Knuckles Prime won against Jet Prime, Wave Prime and Storm Prime, while Amy Prime lost in the Red Canyon Race.

Yet when it came to the final rounds, that's when the Babylon Rogues Prime cheated as at the last stretch between Sonic Prime and Jet Prime, who was really after the secret treasure at the Babylon Garden("Babylon Garden?" Sakura blinked, confused. "It's kinda like Angel Island, only it was part of a giant fortress the ancient Babylonians used, but had hidden it from the world years ago. The only way to make it rise again was the cube which acted like a key that my Jet had, and all of the seven Chaos Emeralds." Prime explained. "Ancient Babylonians...I wonder if we have the similar or the exact same thing here in our world." Tails muttered thoughtfully.), Prime's board was wrecked when Wave Prime set off the bomb and allowed Jet Prime to win the race, much to Sonic Prime's irritation.

But as Jet went to claim his prize, he used the cube and the Chaos Emeralds which activated Babylon Garden to Rise...only for Eggman Prime to steal the cube for having tricked the Rogues and flew off to claim it's secret treasure, with Amy Prime sneaking onboard to stop him only to be held captive. Prime and his team and the Rogues quickly gave chase while Tails Prime provided a new Extreme Gear for Sonic Prime and after another last race against Jet Prime, the blue hedgehog won and raced over to stop Eggman Prime and rescued Amy Prime...Even though he kind of forgot and used his Wind Attack on the evil scientist and almost blew the pink hedgehog away, because shortly after the blue hedgehog gave the cube back to the surprised Jet Prime who along with his team went to claim their treasure, Amy Prime chased Sonic Prime around with her hammer.

("You did WHAT!?" Amy Rose exclaimed, causing everybody to flinch in fright over her anger, as though it happened to her. "Oh! Sonic Prime the Hedgehog, didn't you even realize you could have gotten my other-self hurt!?"

"I wasn't thinking at the time, and my Amy did hit me when I tried to apologize!" Prime held his hands up in defense, with a nervous sweat drop.

"If that ever happens to us here, I've gotta make a mental note to be careful on how to rescue Amy without doing that sort of stunt." Sonic muttered nervously with a sweat drop. Amy Rose can be very scary when it comes to her anger...and her Hammer.

"No kidding. Then again, it was all Eggman's fault, I wish I used a giant hammer to squash him flat like a pancake." Serena half-whispered in agreement.

"Don't you mean squash him flat like an omelet, or scrambled eggs?" The teenage blue hedgehog pointed out, teasingly. This made his Moon Princess friend laugh along with some of the others.)

Prime then continued with how just as the Babylon Rogues entered the palace and through the secret room opened up by the cube, he and his friends all heard a monstrous roar which prompted the blue hedgehog's group to fly in to see for themselves and briefly becoming trapped when the door closed behind them, and the two teams were faced against the Genie-like giant Guardian of the Babylonian Treasure who threatened to destroy them through a race. The two teams one and the treasure was actually inside the Guardian who disappeared from existence. But as they opened it up and found what the treasure was, Eggman Prime ambushed them and threatened to kill them if they didn't hand over the treasure. They ended up laughing and when Jet Prime gave the evil scientist what was inside the chest, it was revealed to be a beautiful carpet which was the greatest invention the Ancient Babylonians made for easier ways to fly, yet Eggman Prime thought it was just a rug as he had gone through the trouble in making the Grand Prix and fainted in shock.

("AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Everyone else burst out laughing. "The treasure was just a rug!?" Crash exclaimed in amused disbelief. "I would've thought it was a Magic Carpet like in Agrabah back on Earth!" Eddie stated through laughter.

"Well, actually, it kind of was." Prime chuckled, which quickly made his friends gaze at him in confusion, allowing the hero of the Omniverse to continue.) Tails Prime then discovered that the carpet was made by the same material used for the Extreme Gear, and as Cube activated the cube, the carpet glowed and began to float, making everyone realize it was a real Magic Carpet to which Sonic Prime thought it was fiction, and Jet Prime was amazed, thinking how funny it was that he and his team were descendants of real Genies. Afterwards, the two teams departed and went their ways.

"The Babylonians made a magic carpet? No way!" Ash softly exclaimed in awe. "When we first met Carpet, he was already magical with feelings and helped us find Genie's Lamp and saved us."

"But, where did the Babylonians come from?" Sora asked, now confused as he folded his arms.

"Hmmm...If the Ancient Babylonians had the Babylon Garden as their fortress that can fly, d'ya think it was...some sorta Space Ship?" Goofy thought deeply.

"It is possible, and while the Babylonians are like us like Cosmo is, it would make a lot of sense." Tails nodded in agreement, much to everyone's surprise.

"Then that means..." Sonic trailed off.

"I can't believe the Babylonians in Prime's world are descendants of aliens!" Amy Rose breathed in awe.

"They were, but how my friends and I found out was another adventure involving them." Prime nodded in agreement.

"So what happened? How did the Babylonians crash land in your world?" Akiho asked, curiously.

"According to my Tails, the Babylonians crashed landed on my Mobius a long time ago, because the power they were using caused them trouble. They were these stones you put on your wrist called the Ark of the Cosmos." The blue hedgehog began, surprising the Guardians.

"Ark of the Cosmos?" Serena blinked, before pointing at herself. "But I thought I was the chosen successor and warrior of the Goddess of Harmony and Light named Cosmos, and I even transformed into Sailor Cosmos."

"Well, they could be named after the Universe itself, which scientist also called the Cosmos in some occasions." Amy pointed out knowingly.

"So, what do these Arks of the Cosmos do?" Riku questioned.

"They have the power of Anti-Gravity, and even briefly stop objects or people from moving, and slow down time for a little bit." Prime explained, shrugging. "It was what saved my life."

He then explained that the Arks were spread out and drifted in space until one day Eggman Prime, who began the MeteorTech Company for his usual scheme but many didn't know, and discovered one of the Arks to use for power up for his robots, but during a shooting star event one night, the most of the Arks crash landed into the earth, one hitting a robot and it's power powered up one before a whole army which went out of control and took over the entire system, going on a global rampage. At the same time, the remaining ark was found in Gigan Rocks which Jet Prime's group found and used to save themselves when the others hit.

A day later while the Babylon Rogues sought out to collect all of them for their own use, Sonic Prime and his friends were just heading to the Station after Tails Prime found the third piece that work him up from his sleep, only for them and Knuckles Prime to be ambushed and forced to go on a run by the robots and during the chase Prime nearly fell to his death when the Ark he was holding used it's power to connect with him and saved his life. After racing to escape from the robots by using his new burrowed power, he reunited with his friends and hid in the Botanical Kingdom where they reunited with Amy Prime, who snuck up behind him and explained that she found the fourth stone only to have been chased by more robots.

The four friends, deducing that the clues were at MeteorTech, snuck in only to be confronted by the Rogues who, knowing more about the ARKs than Team Sonic Prime did, demanded Amy Prime to hand over her piece which she didn't know the name of so she had no idea what Jet Prime was talking about. Most were then forced to reach the Computer room, but Storm Prime stopped Amy Prime from following just to get the piece from her, forcing her to escape to another city("Ugh! The nerve of those creeps! Couldn't they just have told us what they were instead of accusing the other me for having stolen the stones?" Amy Rose hissed, feeling insulted for what happened. Knuckles wasn't that pleased either. "I wish I could get my hands on that other self of that Meat-Head Storm!").

In the meantime, Sonic Prime's group and the two remaining Rogues barged into the control room only to find Eggman Prime, at first believing he was the one responsible for the global robot rampage("I bet he planned on doing that himself anyway." Sonic correctly guessed, folding his arms. "But the Arks somehow made things too quick for him, right?" Prime nodded. "Yes. We found out about that later.") and demanded answers out of him, only for him to reveal that he had no idea why it even happened before the heroes and Rogues discovered that Amy Prime and Storm Prime weren't there. Then when the evil scientist briefly helped to figure out where they were, Sonic Prime, Tails Prime and Knuckles Prime hurried to rescue her while she eventually gave up the piece since it caused her nothing but trouble and from what she told him later, she tossed the ARK right into Storm Prime's face so hard that he was knocked over and passed out for a few minutes.

("YEAH! You go, other me!" Amy Rose cheered, smirking. That was something SHE would do. "Nice to see some things haven't changed. Just wish I was there to see it." Knuckles chuckled, even more amused and feeling better.) Prime then continued how Amy Prime demanded Storm Prime to lead her the way out, before they were ambushed by the head Robot which strangely blew up shortly after and the Albatross took the first piece of the ARK and ran off, right before Team Sonic Prime arrived and, despite that the Arks were taken, the situation was over and due to Knuckles Prime knowing about the Gigan Rocks as part of one of the places treasure hunters like him would try to find, so the group agreed to search there.

Reaching the area, they find the mural of the Divine Wings which is actually Babylon Garden itself, and through Knuckles Prime's translation and Tails Prime figuring it out, the ARKs are so dangerous they must be kept away from the Garden itself or else it would destroy not just the world but also the entire Universe by creating a Black Hole. "(What!?" The Guardians of Light exclaimed in horror. "A black hole!?" Donkey exclaimed, recoiling. "Ummmm...Is that good, or is that bad?" Eddie asked, nervously. "Didn't you hear the destroy the world part?" Max deadpanned. "...That's very bad." Crash gulped nervously, and his brother, getting the message, nodded in agreement.) At the same time, Eggman Prime has snuck onboard the Rogue's ship and stolen two of the Arks for his own purpose, prompting the furious Jet Prime to chase after them and unknowingly passing by Sonic Prime's group, leading them to follow to the same direction straight to the city close to Babylon Garden where they learned the truth and as Jet Prime challenged Sonic Prime for another race for the title as the fastest creature in the world, they stormed in to take back the Arks and putting a stop to the evil scientist's plans.

But even though Sonic Prime has won the race, he surrendered his ARK to Jet Prime who was shocked yet was told that they would race again in the Grand Prix. Unfortunately, the robot that exploded, the leader itself, somehow managed to reactivate itself and stole the pieces and, programed for destruction, flew towards the Garden where it created a giant Black Hole while transforming into a giant robotic monster, forcing the two teams to fly up and destroy it through one last race while Eggman Prime flew the coup("Why am I not surprised?" Shrek shook his head, exasperated. Any version of Eggman can be such a cowardly chicken.) before they did, saving the world and the Black Hole vanished. Yet it caused Babylon Garden to remain a floating piece in the orbit and the Rogues to remain on Mobius, which didn't bothered them as Jet Prime, despite the loss of the Arks of the Cosmos, decided to stay and wanted to race Sonic Prime again.

A day later when Sonic Prime and his friends returned home and deduced about the wishing stars, Prime thought that the Babylonians wished to return to their home planet. He then heard Jet Prime call out his name and raced past with a silent challenge for another race, which Sonic Prime happily did so and leaped off the hover car for another fun race.

"After that, things had returned to normal and my Jet and I were racing rivals since then." Prime concluded.

"Man, that's a real surprise considering." Donkey remarked in awe, as his friends were also amazed by what they just learned.

"It does make you wonder if the Babylon Rogues of our Universe also have ancestors that come from space or were all born here in Mobius." Amy said thoughtfully.

"Hmmmm..." Brock placed his hand on his chin, deep in thought. "It's hard to tell."

But before the conversation could continue, everybody all heard the familiar laughter of an annoying robot, causing the heroes and Sonic's family to look up just in time to see Bokkun fly over to them, much to their dismay.

"Not again!" The Guardians and Prime all grunted in sheer annoyance.

"There you guys are!" The little message bot landed near in front of the group. "I have a message for ya."

The group flinched and recoiled in fright, fearing for another exploding TV or a Bomb to be blown up in their faces.

"Look out! It's the Bomb-Monster attack!" Donkey screamed out in horror.

"Relax!" Bokkun glared at the heroes in annoyance. "I promise this one isn't going to blow up."

"Alright...What is it?" Sonic asked, nervously as he still didn't want to let his guard down.

"Yes, what does Eggman want this time, Bokkun?" Prime questioned sternly, his arms folded to his chest.

"You'd better not enter that race, Sonic Prime, or else you and everybody else will have to face...THIS!" The little robot informed the older blue hedgehog, and yanked something out from this bag.

To everyone's bewilderment, what Bokkun pulled was...a robot that looked nothing more than a metal pole with webbed feet, big pink/red thick lips with big blue eyes and long eye-lashes?

"Hi there!" The new robot greeted in a deep male voice in a failed attempt to sound like a girl, and began making loud kissing motions. "Mwah, mwah, mwah, mwah, mwah, mwah, mwah, mwah, mwah!"

The Guardians of Light, Cosmo, Cream and Cheese, Prime, Nick, Alena, and Sir Charles all stared in horrified disgust, unable to believe that they were being confronted by a kissing robot. To their dismay, he began to run straight towards them, prompting Sid to scream out girlishly. "Run for your lives!"

Everyone did so and split up into groups while screaming away in fear of being slobbered on by the Kissing-Bot who laughed and plucked his lips to kiss any of them, while Bokkun laughed hysterically over this just as the heroes managed to regroup and stood well away from the robot who once again attempted to smooch at them.

"Yuck! I wouldn't wanna be kissed by THAT robot!" Sonic groaned, as he, his family and friends all felt completely nauseous, while the annoying message-bot continued to laugh in amusement.

"Me neither..." Ash shuddered.

"That's just gross!" Misty grunted in disgust.

"That's just disgusting!" Knuckles growled in terror.

"Ewwww...What in the Realm of Light was Eggman thinking making this icky robot?" Serena groaned, shuddering.

"This is just a whole new definition of a Lip-Stick." Crash groaned, before he and his brother laughed over his remark. "Ha ha! Lip-stick! Ha ha ha ha ha!"

"Well, whatever this thing is, I'm getting rid of it!" Prime, absolutely disgusted and having enough of this, cracked his knuckles and leaped up just as the Kissing-Bot went for him. Fortunately, he managed to avoid in having the big lips plucked onto him before he tossed it over his friends and had it aimed straight at Bokkun...

Who was kissed right on the mouth by the robot, making the little message-bot groan in shock, dismay and disgust.

"Okay, Piplup, use your Hydro-Pump to blast them away!" Dawn quickly ordered, having an idea on how to get rid of the robots without causing too much damage.

"Piplup! Piiiiplupppppp!" Piplup did as he was told, and blasted his attack straight at Bokkun and the Kissing-Bot, shooting them up right into the sky where the two robots were sent flying.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Bokkun screamed before he and the Kissing-Bot disappeared in a twinkle.

Everyone else on the ground all sighed in relief.

"That was close." Brock cringed.

"What the heck did Eggman just make?" Shira asked, bewildered and terrified.

"No idea, but I think that guy's just getting more weirder." Diego shrugged.

"Thanks for saving us, guys. That was a close one." Sakura said to Prime, Dawn and Piplup who all nodded.

"It's okay, Sakura." Prime replied with a smile, before he groaned as he facepalmed himself. "To tell the truth, I've never known Eggman to do something so gross like that."

"Me neither." Sonic shrugged in agreement. "I knew the guy was weird enough, but that's just completely gross. The grossest thing he's ever made."

"But, he also said that he didn't want Prime to enter the race or else we'd be facing that." Rini stated worriedly.

"You're right. He could be after the Chaos Emerald too and wanted to make sure we didn't win with Prime on our side." Tails added.

That made everyone except for Prime all share worried glances, while the aforementioned blue hedgehog thought deeply about this. Not only was Jet a bit miffed over him being experienced over the Extreme Gear, but now Eggman threatened his friends which could lead into a trap. Prime folded his arms and as much as he didn't want to leave his friends to do this, it wasn't really his place to race like he did before. The green hawk wanted to race Sonic who had beaten him a few times, and the older blue hedgehog would only make the Babylon Rogue leader of this world to have another new rival which wouldn't last very long.

"Then there's only one thing to do." He finally made his decision, making all of his friends turn to him in shock. "I'll pull out of the race."

The Guardians all gasped in shock.

"You're not gonna race now?" Sonic asked, in disbelief.

"What!? Wait a minute, you mean you're just gonna quit just like that!?" Sid exclaimed.

"But what about Jet and the Chaos Emerald?" Sakura pointed out, worriedly.

"Yeah, and even if we did manage to train, none of us are really that much experienced in the Extreme Gear. Except for Sonic, Tails, Rose and Knuckles, and even Ash, Sora, Sakura, Mickey, and Riku." Serena added in agreement.

But Prime shook his head, stating with a smile. "Don't worry. I'll keep training you until the tournament, and I'll be coaching you guys through out the race. You all have what it takes as long as you remember what you've all learned."

While those who were still racing felt a bit of a boost of confidence, most of them were still unsure about this whole thing. Even Sonic was still uneasy despite only having messed up once or twice today, until his older self approached him and gently placed a hand onto the teenage hedgehog's shoulder, prompting the fifteen year old to gaze up at him.

"You can do this. I know you can. All of you." Prime reassured, giving his younger self a confident thumbs up and a wink.

Realizing that Prime was encouraging him and the others to keep trying and not to doubt themselves but also remember what they've learned, Sonic felt his own confidence as well as determination return and he nodded with a smirk. "You got it, Prime! We'll do our best and we will win that race! I promise!"

Sonic then turned to the other racers and declared. "We got this, guys. There's still a chance for at least one of us to win and there's no way we're gonna let Jet or Eggman get that Chaos Emerald. Right?"

"Right!" Everyone else, who realized that he was right, all cheered in agreement.

Prime nodded in approval and despite that he should keep on training his friends as well as make sure they wouldn't fall for any of this world's version of the Babylon Rogues' tricks, he had a feeling that one or some of them or even all of them will win that race in the next two days.

"Well, I think it's time to rest for now. You all have had such a busy week, let alone a day." Alena suggested in her best motherly tone.

"Yeah, that's enough of training for the day, guys." Manny agreed.

The group looked up at the sky and noticed that the sun was already setting and twilight appeared with stars beginning to show.

"You're right. It's getting late and we still have a lot of training to do tomorrow before the race." Sonic agreed, stretching his arms upward.

"You're all welcome to spend a few days here." Uncle Chuck kindly offered, much to the Guardians' surprise and delight.

"Thanks, Uncle Chuck." The teenage hedgehog said gratefully.

"Yes, thank you." The rest of the group chorused.

With that thought in mind and making sleeping arrangements, Serena, and all of her friends began to settle in for the night, when the Moon Princess felt a chill run down her spine and looked over her shoulder quickly, but saw nothing, except for a quick glance of a red eye glowing before it vanished in a blink.

'What was that? Why did it feel creepily familiar?' The sixteen year old girl thought to herself, shuddering a little. Maybe she was imagining things.

Deciding that she was, Serena quickly hurried to join the rest of her family and friends for some dinner and for much needed rest before the rest of the training tomorrow and the Extreme Gear race the next day. Unaware that the figure was keeping a close eye on her and the rest of the heroes.

But mainly keeping his eye on Sonic Prime, before the figure vanished once again.

A/N: Well, that wraps up the training part and the next chapter will be the big race between the Guardians of Light, the Babylon Rogues and Dr. Eggman! Will our heroes be able to win the race and claim the next Chaos Emerald?

See you later!
