Prompt: Glasses/Close (2020)

Oh no.

Oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no.

Ritsu held what remained of Masamune's broken glasses in his hands, in full blown panic mode now.

In a way this was really was Masamune's fault anyways! It wasn't like Ritsu had willingly come over to his apartment, no Masamune forced him to come over to 'spend time together' or whatever. Not to mention, who leaves their glasses sitting on the couch?! Yes, this was entirely Masamune's fault! This wasn't Ritsu's fault at all! If Masamune had been more careful with his glasses or hadn't dragged Ritsu over here in the first place, then none of this would have ever happened!

Ritsu felt like a child desperate to hide a mess from his parents in order to avoid getting in trouble. If it were anybody else's glasses then Ritsu would immediately confess to destroying them before profusely apologizing and offering to pay for a replacement.

However, this was Masamune they were talking about. Masamune wouldn't want money or a new pair of glasses from Ritsu, oh no, he would hold this over Ritsu's head for the rest of his life in order to guilt trip him into dates and to come over to his apartment and who knows what else!

"Coffees done."

Ritsu jumped out of his skin at the sound of Masamume's voice, instinctively stuffing the snapped frames into his pocket before Masamune could spot them.

"Th-th-thanks!" Ritsu said, forcing a bright smile.

Masamune raised an eyebrow, sitting beside him and handing him his mug. "Is everything okay?" He asked, their hands brushing together as Ritsu accepted the coffee.

Ritsu was hyper aware of the touch in his frazzled state, his cheeks turning a bright pink as he nearly spilled the drink. "Yup! P-Perfectly fine, everything's fine!" He laughed nervously before taking a drink and burning his mouth. "Ow!"

"Be careful, idiot!" Masamune scolded, setting his own mug down to gently take Ritsu's face into his hands. "Let me see." He said, getting far too close for comfort.

Ritsu jumped back, almost spilling the coffee again. "I-it's fine, I'm fine!" He said.

Masamune frowned and took the coffee back from Ritsu, setting it down. "At this rate you're gonna get this all over my couch, or worse, give yourself burns. Now tell me what's wrong. Do you have a fever or something?" He reached out again, pressing his hand on Ritsu's forehead. Sure, Ritsu was usually nervous around him, but this was getting a little bit suspicious.

"I-I told you, I'm fine." Ritsu said, swatting his hand and looking away.

Masamune frowned. "Are you sure?" He asked, now concerned. Was there something Ritsu wasn't telling him? Did his mom call while he was making coffee and stress him out? Has Yokozawa been getting on his case again?

"Y-Yes, positive." Ritsu grabbed his coffee again and blew on it before sipping it more carefully. He then set it back down and decided that the best course of action was to stare at his lap in order to avoid Masamune's intense gaze.

"Ritsu." Masamune took his face in his hand again, making him look at him. "You're making me worry." He said. "If there's something wrong I want to know, so I can help you. Don't take on burdens by yourself when I'm right here for you to lean on." He moved closer, taking one of Ritsu's hands and placing it on his own cheek, leaning into the touch. "Your problems are my problems too."

Well, now Ritsu just felt silly. "I-It's really nothing that serious." He said. "I promise."

Masamune scanned his face for any sort of deception or lying, but found nothing. He nodded. "Okay. I believe you."

Ritsu flushed when he realized his hand was still on Masamune's cheek and he quickly pulled away. "You're so embarrassing." He mumbled. "Saying all those things with such a straight face..."

"That's because I mean them." Masamune said.

Ritsu merely shook his head, taking a deep breath to try to calm himself down. Hearing Masamune say such sweet things made him feel extra bad for breaking Masamune's glasses. "There is...something wrong, though." Ritsu admitted.

Masamune frowned. "What is it?"

Ritsu slowly reached into his pocket and held out the broken glasses, bowing his head. "I'm really, really sorry, I sat down without looking and accidentally broke them! I promise I'll pay you back for them!"

Masamune picked up the ruined glasses. "This is what you got so worked up about?" He asked. "You really are an idiot."

"H-hey!"

"I have a spare pair." Masamune assured. "But seriously, you had me scared for a second and all over some glasses." He said, shaking his head as he set the pieces aside.

"How much were the glasses?" Ritsu asked.

"Don't worry about it." Masamune said with a shrug.

"Please, I want to pay you back." Ritsu said.

"Oh, you'll pay me back, just not with money." Masamune assured, reaching out to ruffle his hair with a smirk. "Go on a date with me this Saturday."

No! That was exactly what Ritsu had been afraid of!

"A-Absolutely not! Just tell me how much the glasses were." Ritsu said.

Masamune sighed. "100,000,000 yen."

Ritsu balked at the ridiculous amount of money. "Th-They were not 100,000,000 yen!"

"The cost of the glasses with emotional damages on top of that for rejecting me and ruining my favorite pair."

"E-emotional damage?! Don't be stupid, Takano-san!" Ritsu huffed.

"It's either that or a date this Saturday. And possibly as many dates as I want after that as well. After all, just one date can't possibly make up for it. I really liked those glasses."

"I knew you were going to do this, this is exactly why I hid it in the first place!"

Masamune just shrugged. "Well, maybe you shouldn't go around breaking people's glasses."

"W-well, maybe you shouldn't leave your glasses laying around!" Ritsu retaliated, but Masamune only gave an affectionate smile.

"Maybe. But either way, you still owe me. I'll be at your door at seven on Saturday and I'm dragging you out whether you're ready or not." Masamune said.

"This isn't fair!" Ritsu complained, pouting.

"Don't care." Masamune said with a shrug before he scooted closer, taking Ritsu's hand in his. "Maybe it's a good thing you broke my glasses. Now I have an excuse to get close, can't see your face from too far away after all." Masamune said, leaning in.

Ritsu put his hand on Masamune's forehead and pushed him away. "Go put on your spares right now!"

Masamune in fact did not get his spares, instead opting to continue to tease the brunette.

A pair of broken glasses was a small price to pay to see that blush.
