It was a very intense day, which later resulted in an intense gun fight.
It was a battle for survival, and Nick was shooting at every suspect that he could see.
Later
'Did we get them all?' He called out.
Then he heard Ellie yelp in pain.
'Bishop, you okay?'
'No! I think you shot me!'
The world just, stopped when Nick heard that. Did he actually shoot his own girlfriend?
The next few days were very tense. Nick was suspended until the investigation into the shooting was done, and Ellie wasn't talking to him.
'I feel like I've lost her, man. I don't know what to do.' Nick said, desperate.
'Well, try going over to her place. Maybe you'll get lucky.' Mcgee suggested over the phone.
Nick did just that.
'Go away Nick. I don't want to talk to you!' Ellie exclaimed when she saw Nick at he door.
'Not until you hear me out. I don't know for sure yet if I did shoot you, but if I did, I didn't mean it! That entire shootout was full blown crazy, and I was only focused on getting those suspects!' Nick said.
Then Ellie opened the door.
'Did I look like a suspect? I have to walk around with this cane for a week! Because my so called 'boyfriend' mistook me for a thug!' Ellie angrily exclaimed.
'I didn't mean to! Please let me in so we can discuss this.'
'No!' Then she slammed the door.
Nick went home very unhappy.
The next day, he found out that he didn't shoot Ellie.
Things were still icy between them for a while, and that tension was on full display when Ellie returned to work.
'You're going to have to talk to him at some point.' Mcgee said.
'I know I know.' She grumbled. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she still cared about Nick.
That evening, Nick found a note on his desk that said:
'I had a feeling you were innocent. I was just lashing out because the thought of you possibly accidentally shooting me was too maddening to me. Can we meet up tomorrow before work? -Ellie.'
The next day
'I'm sorry. I just needed to be angry at someone. Can we try to put this behind us?' Ellie asked.
'Well, you sound honest. And you're probably feeling as guilty as I've been feeling, so. I'll say yes, if we can discuss things like adults.' Nick replied.
'Want to come in?'
'Sure!'
