"Sometimes, Betrayal Hurts More Than Ever."

Ahsoka slipped her feet into the icy snow, her feet freezing. It was a dull day on Hoth- the wind was blowing, carrying sharp ice shards in it.

She tasted a drop of the snow- a tiny shard melted in her mouth, giving her the taste of cold water.

She got up and brushed her skirt. No matter what mindset she was in, the thoughts of Barriss Offee always got to her.

"Ahsoka, come quick." Barriss glanced down at the lower part of Coruscant beneath her.

"I'm sorry." Ahsoka hurried onto one of the ledges.

"Don't worry. I told Master Unduli that I'd only be back by the evening. We should be fine." Barriss said.

"Rock climbing." Ahsoka groaned.

"Come on, let's go," Barriss urged. "What if there's an important meeting?"

Carefully, placing a foot on each ledge, they both made it to the top.

"Okay. Let's go back." Barriss walked to the Jedi Council building.

"Wait," Ahsoka looked at the sky. "It's not evening yet, and you told Master Unduli you'll be back by evening."

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Barriss asked, striding towards Ahsoka.

"Definitely," Ahsoka answered, grinning.

Even though it was the merest of the things Barriss had done with her, it still hurt her to see Barriss turn to the dark side, betraying everyone.

"Ahsoka, run!" Barriss screamed, drawing her lightsaber.

"Already a step ahead of you," Ahsoka answered, sprinting across the mucky land.

"Roger, Roger." said one of the droids. "Eliminate the Jedi and her friend," it explained.

"Not today, thank you," Barriss murmured.

She charged at the droid, which was busy talking.

"Um… you may want to watch your back." one of the droids laughed.

In milliseconds, the head droid fell, a burn on the metal.

"Attack!" screamed the droids. Barriss crushed them. One by one they fell dead.

Once the army was done, Ahsoka ran in and hugged Barriss. "You're a lifesaver. I would have died."

"No problem, Ahsoka." Barriss smiled.

This was the thing that hurt her the most- why had Barriss saved her? Why had she… let her live?

Ahsoka walked towards the base, ignoring the cold snow that hit her face.

Ahsoka and Barriss walked into the room.

"Why late, you are?" asked Yoda, lifting his palm.

"Uhm….," Ahsoka glanced at Barriss.

"Master Yoda, we were just visiting the youngling's area to just see how they were doing." Barriss lied, smiling.

"Hmm." Yoda returned the smile. "Sit." he tapped his green finger on the little chair beside him.

Ahsoka heaved a quiet sigh of relief and smiled at Barriss.

Barriss mouthed, no problem.

Ahsoka's eyes welled up with tears. Even though it was just a memory, it hurt. She sat down on a block of snow and looked into the distance. She realized how much her life had changed- how different it had become.

But she would never be able to change it back.

Barriss stood in the room, holding her lightsaber. "What are you doing, Barriss?" whispered Luminara.

"Something better than the Jedi," Barriss answered. "The Jedi are a bunch of useless fools that will crumble to my Lord's master plan."

"Hush, Barriss!" Luminara advanced with her lightsaber.

Bariss jumped out of the window, ready to never return to help the Jedi.
