UPN 6361 1-2, preceded by ClarionQuests 1-2, followed by ClassMPlanet 1-2.

"UPN6361-Chapter1" [04] - a chronicle of an alternate/parallel universe, different from EarthPrime,
a translation into EarthPrime language made by Roland, ambassador without portfolio.
Characters within alternate, parallel universes are similar to and different from their counterparts.
Readers are encouraged to be, or become, familiar with:
- Star Trek, The Next Generation [ST-TNG], especially planets Romulus, Vulcan, Qo'noS/Kronos (Paramount).
- The Owl House (Disney). Episodes and extracts from Disney's The Owl House.
- Episodes and extracts from The Twilight Zone (Viacom-CBS and Warner Bros).
- WWII carriers, battleships, ships: supply, medical, troop, etc. (Discovery and History channels).

There are many M-Class planets within Quadrant One, planets with oceans, seas, islands everywhere, continents, and peninsulas. Planets with a wide variety of sentient beings, mostly humanoid, living within nations, countries, unclaimed territories, and city-states.

XO: "You three sailors! Do you HEAR The Seventh Trump today, right now?
"Do you SEE The KING of Kings coming in the clouds today, right now?!"
"Do you SEE a Great Cloud of Hosts and Resurrects appearing today, right now?!"
All three indicate: "No, XO, no!."
XO: "Then we are still at war! You three deliver those supplementary ammo boxes to the respective turrets pronto!"

Watchtower personnel: "XO, transport craft approaching starboard - two o-clock."

The Officer On Deck [OOD] permits a party of four to come aboard. After getting the party of four, all tools and parts, aboard the battleship, the transport craft moves on. Soon OOD also moves on, and another officer, the XO, joins the group.

XO: "Welcome to United Planets Nuclear-powered 6361 Missouri-Iowa. Or, some wags put it: UPN-Moia." [Think French language or a particular SciFi movie.]

Two of the four guests speak consecutively... "NC/SC-TO. Strategic/Tactical Sensors/Scanners Operations, Beta Group, reporting as ordered, XO." They give their respective names: Luseda Aprencia, Amitae Breiltran, Forrest Pollmer, and Augustine Suubonna. They are in their early 20s.

XO: "Perfect timing. Right in two oceanic theaters of war:
one theater with outer space Water-balloons, the other theater with outer space Metal-heads."

XO: "Follow me to the Bridge."

Finally arriving, some voice calls out, "XO and Beta Group on the Bridge!"
A moment later, the same voice calls out, "CO on the Bridge!"

CO: "Very well, you four follow me to the Briefing Room - such as it is, please."

After the five arrived and all were seated, CO continued: "Sorry about the cramped quarters, small table, metal chairs. Only in the movies are Ready Rooms, Briefing Rooms, with nice long tables, comfortable chairs, quite spacious - to accommodate three cameras, grips, gaffers, director, lighting crew, sound crew, teleprompters, and whoever, whatever else."

Augustine: "USS Missouri BB-63? USS Iowa BB-61?"

CO: "Well, some wanted UPN [Admiral] Nikolai Kuznetsov, others wanted UPN Dvenadsat Apostolov ['Twelve Apostles' of the Black Sea Fleet]. Very respected names in world history! Aside from one name already taken, I guess easy spelling and pronunciation won out."

Augustine: "Those two USS vessels already have been decommissioned. This vessel is sooner or later going to be next?"

CO: "Yes. It will, eventually. For now, this battleship group supports our two carriers at sea."

For the next two hours, all discuss updates and upgrades for the sensors, scanners, shields, and some improvements in Reclaim/Rescue operations. Because such are very scientific, technical, and highly classified, neither meeting details or upcoming work will be given. \
CO: "Now that we have our goals and action plans, let's get to work. Meeting's adjourned."

The four make their way to the first location, getting the upgrades, and carrying supplies and tools galore.

Once inside, they are greeted by Officer On Deck, who seems to come out of nowhere. "Hey, you guys, I need your rings into these labeled baggies, which Ship's Bursar will hold - since you all will be doing lots of brazing, light welding, soldering, coming in contact with circuit boards and what-all-else - all over this ship. I meant to catch you all in the Briefing Room; however, life, as usual, got in the way. [Smiles.]"

As they worked, they conversed; time passed between comments and questions.

Augustine: "From the Isles to this M-Class planet, still with Blue Water Navy carriers and the occasional battleship or two. Did anyone notice this thing is larger than 296 yards long, wider than 36 yards? And this is the first battleship we have ever been on with two forward [bow] turrets and two aft [stern] turrets."

Forrest: "Yep, this place still has numerous nations and states and territories, from the very large to the very small."

Augustine: "Land-based armies of all sizes, from massive numbers down to only guards at palace doors. And when you mention carriers, did you all notice that the few carriers are 364 yards long and 84 yards wide?"

Luseda: "I'm certain this planet has numerous air forces, from thousands of planes down to a refitted Piper Cub. And yes, we did notice the overall sizes of United Planets' average carriers and battleships."

Amitae: "I wonder just how many different 'Special Forces' exist on this M-Class planet?"

Augustine: "In addition to ours, who knows? I'm still geeking that we found and joined Strategic/Tactical, Sensors/Scanners/Shields, Reclaim/Rescue, operations with various missions and mottoes."

Amitae: "Live and Let Live/Preserve and Protect Lives and Cultures - for one."

Luseda: "This We Do/That Others May Live - for another."

Forrest: "I recall us being taught our Beta Group, in training, to eventually help these planets convert from "fighting today's enemies with yesterday's weaponry" over to Preserve and Protect Lives and Cultures, from "neutralizing what is not the norm" over to the Live and Let Live."

Augustine: "Fighting today's enemies, let alone tomorrow's enemies, with yesterday's weapons, by developing modern-day/future-acting offensive/defensive weapons - as many have put it - when all else fails."

Amitae: "We normally spend 90-95% of our time and energy, daily, collecting historical data, collecting present-day data, studying, researching, extrapolating, and so on, also developing defensive modern-day/future-acting sensors and shields, and this is what we are presently doing - updating and upgrading this vessel's sensors and scanners. No shields today."

Luseda: "Quite a bit different from our earlier Isles days. Paper and Staff days have long been over."

They finished and moved on to the following location, toting all the tools and fewer parts this time.
As they worked, they also conversed here, passing the time between comments and questions.

"Luseda [gently pointing to Augustine]: "You've been quiet quite a while."

"Forrest [looking towards Augustine]: "Is anything out of sorts at the moment?"

Augustine: "I've been thinking, saddened, by internal troubles, suffered by many entities. At the same time, there have been significant pushes and lots of energy expended against external troubles.
There are many disturbing internal things, thoughts, attitudes, and activities with no moral or ethical compass. I am now bubbling up front, two major internal 'fronts' - 'theaters' addressed in small group training meetings."

Forrest: "Are you referring to:
- the increasing violence of people on people, especially from the powerful upon the weak?
- the sexual exploitation of people, ranging from the very young to even high schoolers?"

Augustine: "Yes, those two. And, those are not the only ones; however, I have been thinking about those two in particular."

To nobody in particular, Amitae: "Without national flag or identity, no loyalty to country nor philosophy. To various degrees - destroying lives and property. No conscience nor remorse. Active enemies of Live and Let Live/Preserve and Protect."

Augustine became internally angry about violence and exploitation; he accidentally snapped a tool in two with one hand. Then, glancing down, he calmly dropped the two pieces, quietly picked up another similar, one of several, tool - and kept on working.

Forrest: "We all see things the same way you do. There are two upcoming concurrent conferences. Would you like to pick and attend one, and I will pick and attend the other?" [Augustine smiled and nodded in agreement to that idea.]

Augustine: "Those conferences are hosted by two inter-related groups: International Police and its subset Intra-national[?] Police. First time I heard of Intra-national [with air quotes] Police! I want to learn how they pulled that off."

Forrest: "They managed to close down and imprison numerous crime syndicates specializing in trafficking children. Even the numerous Restrain ReTrain ReLocate groups have taught many local, state, and territorial police agencies how to research, uncover, bring down, imprison, crime 'lords' and gangs committing violence against the young."

Amitae: "There has been much progress made; however, we all agree - this planet, like some other M-Classes, still has a long way to go. Luseda, would you also like to pick and attend one, and I will pick and attend the other one?" [Luseda smiled and agreed.]

Augustine: "Thinking about this, I know the answer to my earlier comments. Inter and Intra are simply shorthand for the cooperation and collaboration of many local and national law enforcement agencies - not only among entities on any particular planet but also on various planets that have agreed to work together, across boundaries, and so on."

Forrest: "I, like all of you, also noted: it is easier to get agreements and action plans against violence and sex crimes being conducted upon children by adults, or children upon children. Although not impossible, it's harder to reach consensus concerning adult-upon-adult criminal activities."

Officer On Desk called in, "How are you all doing? We are hours away from rendezvous with the NCTO-provided carrier." The four agree that they will be finished before General Quarters will be sounded.

A little later, finishing up, the group gathers their tools and remaining parts and heads for their third and final location. They also work methodically, efficiently, and swiftly [from beginning to end].

Augustine: "Hey Luseda, Amitae, talking about upcoming conferences, are you two still signed up for a series of 'Prevention and mitigation against coordinated, mostly-internal attacks against capitols, government and military clusters? That certainly was a long-winded name, phrase, that I just made up!"

Luseda: "Correct. We two will attentively listen and learn and maybe even contribute bits and pieces within that conference.

They quickly finish the last install, put everything away, and head for the Mess Hall equipped with one radio and one B&W television. The solar portion of the day is ending, and the lunar portion, the night, is approaching. Soon, it is nightfall.

After some channel flipping, about 30 channels, 'WeekEnds Live' was in progress.
They are showing mini segments taken from past more significant segments, visual collage if you will.
The parodies are titled "[Captain Ames] Irk and [First Officer Leo] Spoke of the United Interstellar Vessel SirPrize."

...[Advertiser announcer] "Hey Vulcanites, if you need to complete Colander, CookingBlue School's the way to go!"

Spoke: "How do the humans get those rectangular phones-" Irk: "-Spoke, they purchase those things and talk for hours with one another."

Spoke: "Two spouses with a Man in the Middle. Is that a problem within their duo-relationship?"
Irk: "Spoke, Man in the Middle are server-level computer attacks done by someone 'hiding' within a network..."

...Spoke: "Captain, earlier you were searching for cling-?" Irk: "Spoke; let us go onto something else..."

Spoke: "It appears mobile security attacks are hitting humans' transports?"
Irk: "Spoke, mobile security attacks are software-level, app-level, attacks on mobile devices."

Spoke: "Some have calculated computers doubling their ability and knowledge in half the time of the previous doubling time."
Irk: "Apparently so; one reason is the exponential increase of transistors and other items on semiconductors, microchips, etc."
Spoke: "Moore's Law, as I understand it." Irk nods in agreement.

Suddenly the present program is halted.

Announcer: "We interrupt the present program for a Warren O'Neil/Charles Leader United Planets News' special bulletin."

Right after a few music notes opened...

O'Neil: "I'm Warren O'Neal." Leader: "I'm Charles Leader." UPN announcer: "You're listening to United Planets News."

O'Neil: "Television actors Ames Irk and Leo Spoke, very well known for their skits "Irk and Spoke/Vessel SirPrize", hospitalized since yesterday, announced their retirement hours ago due to their injuries incurred in a private plane accident. Because many if not most local, national, international entities have already reported on yesterday's accident, subsequent injuries, and are presently reporting their subsequent retirement from acting - we will now do a segment on their behind-the-scenes charity work."

United Planets News has rather large screens throughout the studio, as most, almost all, guests are electronically connected.

Leader: "With us tonight is Larry Matson, originator, producer, and CEO of WeekEnds Live."
Matson: "Thank you for inviting me tonight; please call me Larry."

"Also with us tonight is Elizabeth Millner, a co-founder of the fairly new International Children's Medical Combine, the ICNC."
Daniels: "Thank you for having me on your show; please call me Beth."

Leader: "Let's begin with you, Larry; please give us a brief description of your show and of the 'Irk and Spoke/Vessel SirPrize' skits."

Larry: "We are not near the quality and quantity of Ebersol and Michaels' Saturday Night Live. [For a few seconds, several folks behind Matson are heard cheerfully voicing various forms of agreement.] However, we do have 10-seconds-delayed segments. [A few in the background indicate that a few segments - permanently delayed.] Comedy involves national and international politics. Entities, governments, alliances; comedy involving how sentient species view and often misunderstand each other and themselves."

Charles: "Many have noticed your show staying completely away from some topics. Can you give us a little insight?"

Larry: "A while back, we planned on doing comedy highlighting some of the controversial interactions between polar beliefs and actions concerning biases - implicit and explicit, struggles of People of Color, alternative lifestyles, so on. We received internet mails, post-delivered letters from numerous test audience members, and communique from folks within our show and the network. In short, many indicated, 'Please do not.' They were concerned that frenemies and enemies would use bits and pieces of those segments out of context to ridicule, poke fun at, sarcastically, and caustically oppose such Causes. Also, many of those folks wanted privacy in their lives. So, we decided that such topics are better handled by agencies and organizations like your United Planet News."

Charles: "Thank you for your gracious compliment! What can you tell us about 'Irk and Spoke/Vessel SirPrize' skits?"

Larry: "In brief, two actors took on the names of Captain Ames Irk and First Officer Leo Spoke, started a verbal-slapstick comedy, using the staging, backdrop, United Planets Vessel SirPrize - barely staying out of reach of being sued out of financial existence by particular copyright and trademark holders - skits poking fun at how Vulcanites are attempting to know and understand more and more about humans and humanoids.

I think one of the barriers to being sued was that they pledged most, almost all, of their monies, from their comedy series to charity. One of their favorite moves, and still is, I guess, was to collect loose coins and usually small bills into plastic and glass jars, which, when full, would be freighted to their chosen charities." [in the background were sounds suspiciously like coins and bills are being liberated from numerous pockets and purses.]

Charles: "You provided a perfect segue to our other guest and her purpose for being here."

Charles: "Beth, you are one of the co-founders of the fairly new International Children's Medical Combine. Please, tell us about it."

Beth: "ICMC was formed by many groups claiming roots within the Abrahamic Faiths, Judaism, Islam, and Christendom. Because Charity is one of the tenets found in each of those three, Abramic Faiths United was formed to provide means and ways of getting monies, donations, etc., from the hands of the givers into the hands of those needing help. ICMC hopes to rise ever higher the percentages of monies collected compared to monies received by those needing help. Although several medical entities - burns, crippling injury prosthetics, short and long injuries-rehabilitation, were taken over or purchased because the originators or present staff were running into accounting and accountability problems, ICMC appeared and still appears to be a viable solution."

Charles: "Can you cite a few examples of accounting and accountability problems and their solutions?"

Beth: "I apologize to your staff and to your audience, Charles; ICMC By-Laws and policies prohibit public media from mentioning or publishing such specifics. I brought none of the governments' mandated documents concerning those medical entities into my office for this segment."

Charles: "Since patient privacy laws and policies prevent public media mention, or publication, of specific individuals and their injuries, since all of us and our audience can use search engines to find out what medical entities do for their patients, let's move onto this: How does 'Irk and Spoke/Vessel SirPrize' figure into all of this?" [Charles does typically not tolerate background noise from other guests while another guest is speaking. However, he noticed accidental cameos of a plastic wide-mouth jar. First, he pretended not to hear nor see. Then, he furtively reached into a pocket, and somehow a now-empty candy jar began, among the staff, making accidental cameo appearances .]

Beth: "While I cannot give details about specific donors or donations, I can say this: From here and there, at different times, numerous local drays, national freight haulers, international freight forwarders, ICMC receives unusual containers of coins and bills. The patients, the children, are delighted and appreciative! And, by the way, our percentage average is 92 - monies collected/distributed."

Leader: "On that note, we conclude this segment. Thank you, Elizabeth Milner, for being our guest! Thank you, Larry Matson, for being our guest! [Both guests express their thanks for having them on the show.] Warren O'Neal, back to you."

O'Neal: "Our two guests tonight were Larry Matson, originator, producer, CEO of WeekEnds Live, and Elizabeth Milner, co-founder of ICMC, International Children's Medical Combine. You have been listening to O'Neal/Leader's United Planets News. Good Night."

The Mess Hall was not the only place equipped with radio and television. Very soon, a stream of sailors, soldiers, enlisted and drafted, and a few officers entered the Mess Hall. They went to the next-door laundry room [small it is] in groups of two or three, putting in large bills, receiving smaller bills and coinage, re-entering the Mess Hall, throwing everything from their respective pockets, purses, change machines into plastic and glass jars.
Of course, Lucida and her three friends became part and parcel of those trekking into, loading up, and out of the laundry room.

GrouchMax, Mess Hall and Laundry Room curator hearing the controlled ruckus poked his head into both rooms, saw what was happening, silently smiled, and returned to his tiny room. He saw his prized collection of original coinage from many lands. Shortly after that, he laid down on his bunk and fell asleep. Later, the Duty Log would have an entry about him dreaming about jar after jar after jar being shot out of the big guns. The laws of Physics and Chemistry were bent like Osteoporosis for those jars to reach ICMC - in his dream.

Eventually, all became quiet aboard the ship.
A few hours later, as the sun was beginning to appear, a voice boomed over the loudspeakers:
"General Quarters! All Hands, General Quarters!"
