It's today! Everyone in Eggman's lair knew it was today. A special day, one might even say the best day. A day that only comes once a year. A day that lifts the spirit of one lucky man and makes him the happiest person alive. Although most would not believe that was humanly possible, some can prove those people wrong. For today, a certain someone is very optimistic.

Others however say today is worse than using dirty socks instead of toothpaste. That one day you'd rather lie in your bed than go out in public. Where you feel so miserable and annoyed you stuff your pillows in your ears to block even the slightest offset sound. And when your alarm clock rings telling you to wake, instead of turning it off gently, you chuck it at the wall where it breaks into a million tiny pieces. Then you glare at the broken clock, knowing you'll need to clean it up later. But enough about everyone else's terrible morning, today is Dr. Eggman's birthday!

He happily called off all attacks on Sonic the Hedgehog for the entire day, before he even sat down for breakfast. The Doctor hummed a little song to himself while he sat eating his bacon and eggs, his orange juice still being prepared by Orbot. Meanwhile, Cubot was at the refrigerator, carefully placing the eggs back in their crate, for he knew he would find some way to drop them if he wasn't this careful. Eggman was now snapping behind his newspaper and tapping his foot to a song he most likely made just now.

The robots didn't mind when their creator was upbeat. In fact, they love when he was happy so much they treasured the first few days leading up to today, where Eggman would give them fewer chores than normal and sometimes even the day off. It's just that, on his special day he can get a little too upbeat. Up to the point where Orbot and Cubot are knee-joint deep in a full hug from their normally bitter and grouchy boss. But that's only the beginning. Last year today, ended with Cubot covered in cotton candy and twitching on a robot-sugar-high, Orbot struggling to get down from the ceiling light draped in sticky-string, and the Doctor breakdancing in the living room, in a chicken costume, as well as several motobugs spinning along with him. You as the reader don't need a backstory for the chicken suit, nor do I want to write it down, so I will spare you balling your eyes out. The two robots hoped this year would be different, but knowing the evil Doctor, that probably isn't the case.

Orbot gave the birthday boy his orange juice and waited anxiously for their crazy day to start. But it already did. Eggman was now humming loudly and moving his torso, feet, and hands side to side to the imaginary beat as he read his newspaper and ate. Cubot finished putting the eggs away and hovered over to the table, "Morning boss!" he waved.

Orbot stared at him wide-eyed, then back at Eggman, "good morning Cubot, Orbot." the Doctor said, his voice a little higher and non-menacing. He took the last bite of egg and put his newspaper aside, then cracked an almost psychotic smile and excited expression towards the two robots, as if telepathically saying; guess what guess what guess what!? "You remember what today is right?" his eyes got wider like they could pop out of his glasses any second, and fall on his plate looking around terrified.

The droids exchanged glances before answering in unison, "Y-your Birthday?" Before they could even try to move, Eggman's smile grew ten times bigger as he swooped Orbot and Cubot in a big hug, at a speed that would put Sonic to shame. He squealed in an uncharacteristically high pitch tone, almost worse than his signature chortling, and stayed in the hug until Orbot respectively tried to move his hand away from his stomach joint. They broke apart the tight hug much to the robot's surprise and again waited for Eggman to move so they could be ready.

"Anything planned for today boss?" Orbot's hands moved to where Cubot's mouth was after he spoke those five terrifying words. Eggman's expression grew another ten times bigger.

Orbot facepalmed, "now you've done it."

"Done what?" The yellow droid looked blankly at his cohort but only for a short time before Eggman grabbed both of their metal wrists and merrily skipped down the hallway, dangling the two robots by the gloves in a cartoonish manner.

"That!" Orbot waved at Eggman but Cubot still looked dumbfounded. The red bot sighed in defeat, "never mind, let's just hope I'm not the main victim in any of his party gimmicks this year."

"Nope, we're gonna have fun fun fun fun fun!" The Doctor exited his lair and the robots stared in awe at what stood ahead: It was a Robotized amusement part, directly in front of the Dr.'s island base, fit with everything a carnival has including many more Eggman themed attractions and games.

They stopped in front of an empty dunk pit operated by an egg-pawn with a red and black top hat. Orbot and Cubot now knew what was first on their agenda, and it wasn't looking too good for them.
