Chapter 10

"This... is going to be a lot tougher than I've expected."

To say that Aizawa Shota was foreseeing a headache coming soon would be an understatement.

In fact, one could say he was absolutely certain of that impending doom of a headache.

His mind was already taxed due to his choice of preferred work schedule which mainly consists of graveyard shift hero work. In addition to that was him planning ahead in which path his class was going to take. No, there was no chance in hell that he would be following the school's recommended curriculum for the first year classes of the hero course.

He would rather spend every day of every class without a wink of sleep for the entire school year than to follow that damn curriculum.

It was way too forgiving for the students.

Yes, it was probably in their best interest to make certain that every student of UA High School was safe and taken properly care of. But there was a difference between being mindful for the students and outright babying them.

No, Aizawa was never going to baby them.

They need to take a look at how tough the world of professional heroes at the very start. This would help them ground their goals and see if they have the discipline to remain strong and dependable in the harsh world of heroes and villains. Those who are unable to mature early on more often than not are the ones to fall the first.

As their homeroom teacher, Aizawa will make sure that the students of class 1-A can face reality early on and make their survivability more certain. Nothing is more worse than a foolish amateur with hopes and dreams to big out in the real field. So damn that standard school curriculum, he will do what he wants. Fortunately, UA High School's school traditions weren't too restrictive. Most teachers are free to run their classes as they see fit as long as they don't cross a certain line.

Now all of the planning he was doing was already a major candidate as the source of his upcoming headache, but what had made things worse was the identity of the new student in his class.

Shizu Delta was her name.

However, Aizawa knew of the said student's other moniker. He was one of the select few in UA with the knowledge after all.

The secretive ace of the police force, Agent Marionette.

The very first time he was handed the documents pertaining the new student's information he was surprised to discover whom the said student's recommendations came from. The most surprising for him was the Police Force themselves. In his knowledge this was the first time this had actually happened.

Aizawa had actually had experience working in the past with the elusive Marionette.

It was only one time. There was an operation in which he was called upon in order to serve as one of the reinforcements. The goal of the said mission was to infiltrate a supposed abandoned warehouse which an information broker has revealed that the said warehouse wasn't so abandoned after all. Apparently, it was being used as a storage facility for storing illegal drugs by a villain group whom were mostly comprised of former yakuza members of an old dissolved yakuza family.

Since there was no solid evidence in pointing that the information was the truth, an infiltration first was in order.

It was planned to be a small and quick operation.

A small group of fresh young heroes were to be the main force while a number of police were to serve as backup. Infiltrate the warehouse in question. Check if it's true that there are illegal drugs stored within the said warehouse. Confiscate all illegal drugs discovered as well as any additional paraphernalia and illegal objects if any are found. Apprehend any villains or criminals found within. Seize any objects or documents that could provide additional information in relation to the villain group using the warehouse. At the end, safely exit the warehouse.

Quick and simple yes?

However, lady fortune was not smiling upon the operation.

At first the operation was going smoothly. They've successfully infiltrated the warehouse in question and had indeed found the illegal drugs stored within. Seeing there were no personnel inside, the main group complacent and had grown lax in being cautious. Soon enough they discovered that they were now surrounded by the villain group whom owned the warehouse they've infiltrated. Turns out that while the warehouse was indeed being used as a storage facility by the villain group, it also served a secondary function.

A lure.

Everything then transformed into what resembled a siege in modern times.

Without wasting any time, reinforcements were called. Since the operation was held during night time, Aizawa was an active hero and since he was somewhat close to the location, he was one of the hero who responded first.

It was during that time that he was fated to meet the elusive ace of the police force.

He had already heard the news or rumors really that the Police Force had a new member. This new member in question was apparently one of the main contributing factor in as to why the police force was currently having an improvement in their overall quality. It was a great thing to hear of course, but Aizawa was a bit skeptical about the new member since in his knowledge he didn't really know anyone too outstanding in the police force aside from a select few and out of those select few none of them were specially combat-oriented.

However, meeting the Marionette went beyond anything he expected. To be honest he didn't exactly knew what he was expecting on what Marionette looks like, but it he was expecting a person that looks competent and that they resembled more a professional hero than anything.

What he got was a mystery.

A puzzle extremely difficult to unravel.

Arriving at the site of the operation as reinforcement, he was immediately contacted by Tsukauchi. Briefed quickly regarding the situation at hand, Aizawa was then informed by Tsukauchi himself that he would be joined by someone on the operation.

Marionette.

Hearing this, Aizawa's curiosity peaked and a part of him was basically craving for any information about the elusive Marionette.

Soon their rescue operation begun. While the villain group was too focused on the group stuck inside the warehouse, someone threw several smoke canister surrounding the villain

group in a thick layer of smoke. Then from out of nowhere a gas mask was thrown towards him in which he caught with hands. Looking towards the direction where he thought the thrown gas mask came from, he saw a figure quickly leaping unto the middle the smoke without any hesitation. Several gunshots erupted immediately afterwards and that was all the signal Aizawa needed to pull down his goggles to his eyes, put on the gas mask given to him, and leapt into the fray.

After all that was said was done, Aizawa was then caught completely dumbfounded when he finally had a change to get a clear look at agent Marionette.

Aizawa let his sights turned to the small girl with red-gold colored hair and emerald colored eye with target-mark shaped pupil. Her facial features were soft and very delicate as if she was handcrafted by supernatural beings to be the perfect doll turning heads regardless of gender. The evidence of such a fact was right in front where all of his students were all staring at the girl awestruck. Her eyepatch did nothing to lessen her beauty.

It was incredibly difficult to believe that this girl was the one he saw during that operation. When he first saw her she was wearing a specially customized version of the elite police force gear which covered her from head to toe making it impossible to ascertain her features during the time. All he could deduce at the time was she was lacking a bit in height.

"Now then." Aizawa spoke gathering the attention of the students of class 1-A. "Head down to the P.E. grounds and put this on. I won't repeat myself a third time, go."

"Is it really alright to skip the opening ceremony?" One of the students named Iida Tenya asked which Aizawa didn't even bother giving a reply and just stared silently which made the student a bit nervous. "Right. Not repeating a third time. Let's go everyone! In an proper line!"

Everyone in class 1-A promptly left the room and went to the changing rooms in order to get changed in their P.E. uniforms. Shizu Delta waited for every student to leave the classroom before she gave a slight bow to Aizawa and left the room.

Aizawa followed almost immediately after and was discreetly observing how the actions of Shizu. Seeing the girl in person was making it extremely hard for him to believe that such combat prowess with such lethality was possessed by said girl. Truthfully at first he thought that the principal was pulling an elaborate prank on him when he was given Shizu Delta's documents. And when he was brought to one of UA's consultation room where All Might sat in he concluded that the number one hero was in on the prank.

However when he finally got a look at the girl in question, everything just clicked together in his mind.

So now here he was questioning the absurdity of the situation. An elite member of the police force whom was called as their ace was now a student of UA High School, and what's more, the said ace became a member of class 1-A which is currently the one he was handling. Whether this was all planned by principal Nezu or not is unknown to him, but he was sure that he would be making it certain that he was going to watch over the girl.

If you think about it was quite tragic wasn't it?

A small and cute girl that is at high school age is serving the police force from behind the scenes. Such a scenario was quite possibly difficult to believe, but he had a front view perspective of Marionette's prowess in full display.

Such finesse and lethality coming from a young girl was so absurd to think about it wasn't even funny.

It was as if he was watching a professional artist expertly creating a masterpiece throughout the carnage.

His observation and train of thoughts stopped when Shizu entered through the door of the female changing room. Aizawa shook his head as if to clear his mind and focused on his task at hand. Without missing a step he continued on walking through the hallways and went straight towards the P.E. grounds where he waited for his students to arrive.

"Quirk assessment test!?" The collective cries of his students made his eyes twitched in slight annoyance.

If they were surprised by something simple like this, then what if something bigger happened on their field?

"Yes. It is important for each and everyone of you to know one another's capabilities as well as your own." Aizawa explained as his eyes swept from one student to the next. His gaze narrowing when he glanced at Shizu Delta. "Not only does this make you learn your own limits so you would know what you can and can't do, but also knowing whether or not your fellow heroes needs help makes it easier for everyone involved to plan out or strategize during a joint operation."

This was the truth. However another reason for this is to make record of everyone's capabilities and quirks in order to properly make countermeasures if a recorded hero ever decides to go rogue.

This was a very pessimistic practice, yes.

But it is necessary because it does happen.

Aizawa turned his gaze on the explosive Bakugo Katsuki and called out.

"Bakugo, what was your best result for the softball throw in junior high?"

"Huh? It's sixty-seven meters." The teen answered with a glare which didn't affect his teacher at all.

"Alright then." Aizawa threw a softball towards Bakugo which the teen caught with one hand and gestured towads a drawn white circle on the P.E. grounds. "Step into that circle and try doing the softball throw with your quirk."

The teen snorted before smirking in a smug manner as he walked into the circle with his held high in an arrogant manner.

"You can do whatever you want so long as you stay within that circle." Aizawa clarified. "Now then, give it everything you've got."

With a feral glare followed movements almost fit for a member of a professional baseball team, Bakugo bent his body back and with every force he could muster swung his body forward and yelled.

"DIE!"

The ball blasted through the air towards the sky with a power and speed similar to that of a rocket launcher making the wind howl as if it was crying. His classmates all looked at Bakugo impressed at the display of his quirk's power.

Aizawa then showed everyone Bakugo's results which impressed his classmates even more making the teen smirked proudly. He then explained that everyone was going to be doing the same tests and their results will be recorded and revealed.

"This looks sick!" A student named Kaminari exclaimed in an excited manner. "Can I go next!?"

"This is going to be so fun!" A pink-haired student said while jumping excitedly.

"There's no restriction in using our quirks!?" Another student said with a grin as he flexed his muscular arm. He was named Kirishima. "As expected of the hero course, very manly!"

"Oh?" Aizawa made a sound which garnered every student's attention to him. Each of their smiles and giggles turned into a nervous frown and complete silence as their sense of excitement turned into dread and anxiety when they got a look of their teacher's expression. "Will that attitude of yours last after everything is said and done? Your course is for three years. A countless of things can happen during that duration of time."

A sadistic smirk soon made its way onto his face making his students shiver and take a step back in nervousness. His eyes carried that sharp glint that said he could see everything. He snorted as if he was looking forward to whatever he had planned for his class.

"Listen well." He crossed his arms with his smirk staying on his face. "Whoever comes in last place in the collected results for all eight tests will be expelled."

Everyone felt their stomach's drop from the sudden grim revelation.

If before they were all hyped up and motivated to use their quirks to test and show their classmates, now they are motivated by a different reason. The fear of expulsion made their hearts race and their blood pumped into overdrive. All unwilling to leave UA just after a single day of class.

Aizawa didn't even bother to hide his amused smile from seeing his students realize their situation. His gaze travelled through his students and stopped at one Shizu Delta and he let his smile drop completely. The girl was standing on one side not even bothering to interract with her classmate. He was sure that her classmates were all eager to get to know the girl judging from their awestruck expression during her introduction in the class. She just stood there silently while her gaze remained transfixed in observing everything and everyone around her.

Aizawa knew she wasn't troubled by the threat of expulsion.

That wouldn't even faze her in the slightest.

He was convinced that if there was someone leagues above everyone in his class, maybe even the entire first year, it would be Shizu Delta.

She was skilled. Frighteningly so.

Aizawa wasn't even sure how he would be handling the said enigma. But if there was one thing he was certain off, it's that he would be whatever he can to guide the girl into the correct path. For if the girl ever stray from that righteous path, he wouldn't know what she was fully capable of.

He released a deep sigh and brushed through his hair as he looked up into the sky.

"Plus ultra huh?"

Kendo Itsuka was an exemplary student.

She had excellent grades and was a proper student who minded her manners and respected his teachers and other faculty members. Thus as the opening ceremony continued, she was trying her best to keep her focus on the speaker at the stage telling a story about UA High School with every ounce of enthusiasm they could muster.

But she was having a very difficult time at that.

The main reason was sitting right beside her on the left.

She had red-violet hair which was collected into a long high ponytail and had her bangs swept to the left side of her face partially covering her left eye. Her eyes were big and beautiful with the color of bright red with unusual pupils. She had this small captivating smile on her face as she continued to watch and lister to the speaker on stage.

Try as hard as she might, Kendo Itsuka just couldn't help but be drawn towards her classmate, Entoma. She couldn't believe that someone so small and cute managed to reach the number one spot in the entrance exam with just combat points alone. And she had a decent lead in points against the person who reached the number two spot who was named Bakugo Katsuki.

"Is there something wrong with my face?" Entoma suddenly asked without ever taking her eyes off the stage. Her voice cute, sweet, but sharp.

"N-No!" Kendo's face flushed red as she was caught staring at her classmate. "Sorry I-I was just really impressed when our teacher revealed you got the number one spot during the entrance exam."

'Plus you're so cute' Kendo added in her mind, though not in words.

"Ah is that so? Thank you." Entoma turned towards Kendo which made the girl blushed harder. "Nice to meet you."

"A-ah, Nice to meet you too!" Kendo squeaked and then pretended to cough as she realized the embarrasing voice she was speaking with. "I'm Kendo Iitsuka. I'm really looking forward to being your classmate and getting to know you more." She ended with a bow towards her classmate.

"I could say the same thing." Entoma greeted back with her voice charming as a bell as she bowed slightly.

Kendo tried to keep their conversation alive by bringing up any topics she could think of here and there. Though she did try to pace herself and took a break every so few minutes in fear of overwhelming Entoma. After all, she didn't want to scare away such an adorable classmates of theirs. Taking a glance at her other classmates, she could see that they were subtly paying attention to their conversation. Probably also interested in connecting with Entoma just the same as her.

During this, class 1-B's homeroom teacher, Sekijiro Kan, also known as the Blood Hero: Vlad King, kept his gaze remained on his students. More specifically, on Kendo Itsuka and Entoma Zeta. He didn't want to admit it, but he made it sure that Entoma, whom ranked first on the entrance exam, was to be sent to his class.

Call it foolish or anything, but he wanted to make sure that this year's class 1-B would be on par with class 1-A.

It wasn't like it was planned or anything, but almost every year it happens. Class A would always be in the limelight while class B would be delegated to the sidelines. Of course this wasn't anything bad or anything, nor was there any conspiracy, that is just plain stupid.

It just happens almost every time.

Sekijiro Kan made it his personal mission to shape his class to outstanding students and upcoming heroes. Make them into something they all could be proud of. He already knew that class 1-A would be getting students with amazing potentials. So he decided that he would like to have an even playing field.

Having Entoma was a step in the right direction.

It wasn't like he did anything against the law or bribed any member of UA's faculty. Reality was actually much simpler than fiction this time around. He went up to principal Nezu and revealed what he was aiming for and explained everything he had planned at the moment.

And the said principal said yes.

Just like that.

His thoughts then turned towards the missing class 1-A students. Not a single one of them could be seen during the opening ceremony and he had an idea as to what reason they were currently missing.

"Looks like Aizawa went ahead and really got a head start." He muttered to himself. "Perhaps I should've done the same."

He soon cleared his mind of any wandering thoughts and turned his attention to the opening ceremony.

He already had a plan in mind. Once classes has ended for the day he would approach Aizawa and suggest something to his co-worker. Knowing Aizawa, he would agree if Kan could explain what he had in mind properly and swiftly without wasting his time.

Oh yeah, here comes that headache he had foreseen.

It was coming in his head with a vengeance.

Aizawa had a palm right on his face as he released a deep sigh while his head slowly shook from side to side. Utterly at a loss at the situation at hand.

"Alright, alright" He spoke in an exasperated manner and asked tiredly. "Exactly how did this happen?"

He was currently standing at the center of the P.E. grounds surrounded by the majority his students whom were all watching him with varying levels of interest towards a certain female student. At Aizawa's side was another student in his class named Shoji Mezo whom had a very impressive results on the grip test which Aizawa thought was going to rank first on that particular test.

However.

In front of Aizawa was Shizu Delta who just kept silently staring the broken device she held in her right hand.

The device in question was a hand-held measurement device which was used to measure how strong a person's grip was. It laid on top of Shizu's right hand broken with some of its mechanical parts scattered on the ground just beneath her.

"Well Shizu Delta?" Aizawa called the female student still in complete silence as if the stares she as receiving was anything new to her. Shoji stared amazed and puzzled at how such an adorable girl managed to surpass his feat on the grip test.

Ever so slowly, Shizu turned her gaze away from the broken device in her hand and lifted her head to look at her teacher. Then as if she couldn't understand the gravity of the situation, she tilted her head to side which made all of her classmates blush due to how adorable she was being.

Then in a voice devoid of any emotion she spoke. "...This device is faulty." Her tone suggesting that she didn't find anything odd at what has happened and that everything was completely normal to her. "Not my fault."

To be Continued.
