So I am horrible. I started this and then forgot to update. I am here though to do more. Please leave a review and let me know about moments that you would like to see.
"Chandler come quick."
I run inside from the grill in a panic. I relax when I see the smile on my wife's face. She points over to our son who is walking to his mother. A huge grin goes across my face.
"Good job Jack. You're such a big boy." I walk over and kiss his head when Monica scoops him up in her arms. We both try and not get too excited so we don't scare the poor kid like we did with Erica. I felt so bad. We got so excited when we saw her walk that we started cheering. She fell and cried. But once we got her calmed down, she acted like it never happened.
Erica started walking a few days ago when Ross, Rachel and Emma were over for dinner. I swear, it never gets old to see your babies walk for the first time. They just turned one this month so I suppose they are right on time for walking. Maybe a little early. They certainly started walking earlier then Ben or Emma did.
"You know what this means?" Monica asks me as she holds Jack close.
"That our babies are growing up?" I pick up Erica as she goes as fast as her little legs can take her, coming toward me.
"Well that too. But that isn't what I was going to say. We have to baby proof the house even more."
I take my free hand and rub her back. "Honey the house is baby proofed. We already baby proofed the cabinets, the drawers and the light sockets when they started crawling 5 months ago."
"I know but now they can reach more. Like tables or your desk or even the TV stand."
I can't help but smile at her. There really isn't stuff that they can get hurt on. Obviously we keep our house pretty clean always. But I will do anything to make her happy. "By any chance would this have anything to do with the fact that we're having another one in about 4 weeks?" I ask as I rub her stomach.
We still can't believe that it actually happened. Monica thinks that we no longer had the stress of probably not being able to conceive naturally or the stress of adoption, so it made our slim chance a little better. Either way, we are thrilled. Just like with the twins, we found out that we were going to be parents again on Thanksgiving which was incredible. I got Monica 5 test just to be sure. We went to the Dr. Monday morning at 8am and sure enough, she was already 2 months along. However, since this was a miracle that we thought would never happen, we didn't tell anyone until she was almost 4 months along. We were so scared of losing this baby. But here we are, having another little girl. Luckily, we still have all over Erica's baby clothes. Monica kept everything that wasn't stained. The only things we really needed to buy were a crib and a car seat. That has not stopped either one of us though from buying so many cute baby clothes and other things. We are just over the moon with joy.
She smiles at me. "Maybe just a little bit."
I laugh and kiss her head. "I'll tell you what, after dinner, I will go get door handle stoppers and put them on all the doors. And I will get corner guards for the tables. Will that make you feel better?"
She nods her head. "That will thank you."
I look at Jack and Erica. "Learning to walk is stressing your mommy out." They both look at me and laugh as if they actually understand a word that I am saying to them. It is wild just how much my kids are growing up. I never believed people when they say that time flies when your kids are babies. I feel like this last year has flown by. I know that it has for Monica as well.
We put our kids down and they walk back over to their toys in the front room. But Jack is falling a lot more than Erica on the way there.
Monica puts her arm around me and tears fill her eyes. I think my poor wife has cried more during this pregnancy then she has during our marriage so far.
I rub her back and give her a kiss. Both of our babies are actually walking now. They both took a few steps before now but it was a fluke. They went right back to crawling until now.
"I have to get back to the grill. Are you ok?"
She wipes her tears away. "Yeah I'm fine."
She stops me as I am walking away. "I love you."
I wink at her. "I love you too baby."
I go back out to the grill to flip our steaks over and check the asparagus. I am still smiling. Life is so good. Although, I know Monica is not doing well with the twins growing up. I can't wait to watch Jack be a big brother and for Erica to be a big sister.
Jack and Erica are already in their pajamas and they had dinner which consisted of pasta and chicken. That is something they love. Once our dinner is done, I help Monica get the kids to bed. I would do it myself since Monica is so pregnant but she insists on helping me every time.
One of our favorite things to do is eat dinner in bed. Which Monica normally doesn't like but lately, she has been all for it.
"Honey?"
I look over at her, taking a bite of my steak.
"Don't forget to go to the store so we can babyproof some more."
I just smile at her. "I won't honey." I lean over and kiss her.Babyproofing is very important to her and I love her for it.
