Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Sins of Sweetheart. Enjoy the 2000-words. I don't own Helluva Boss, Vivziepop and a few others do.
"Come back here." Keenie hissed at the former imp who seemed to fire another bullet at her with annoyance.
He rolled forward with shared annoyance hidden in his stance. It seemed as if she had no real attempts to dodge or bother her rather than simply rolling to the side around her arrows. He tossed another trash can at her which she dodged around the arrow. There was just blind fury in her movements before all was said and done for now.
Still? There was a lot to be more when it came down to it. He fired his weapon at her which dodged to the side as he simply rolled his eyes. He fired more before he simply started to point out how low his chances of beating her in a real battle seemed… It was honestly a lot more fun when he considered it.
Yet, he didn't at all appear to bother with this. He hadn't at all wished to be down to it. There wasn't at all perhaps when it came down to it. There was simply too much on the line for him to abandon his stance on this. It made it far too amused him when he considered it.
He glanced at her with a raised eyebrow. She stared at him with hate. It made him snap as he rolled at her and fired another shot which sliced up her wing. She slammed into a garbage can like a missile before he turned and retreated, tucking his gun into his pocket before he turned and ran. Keenie growled and sprinted after him as he turned another corner.
Who the hell was this thieving rat? She couldn't fathom who this was, who was chasing him. She had no end of problems and he had no end of ammo in his weapon. Then again? She probably had thousands of arrows that could cut him down to it. She had become a monster, but she didn't care at the second. The sooner she found and ripped him apart? The better she'd feel. It was one of the last things that she had left in this damned and cursed world. Anything less was a disservice to this planet.
"Come back here," Keenie stated before she growled and looked around before she glanced at him.
"What the hell is your problem!?" He yelled back at her with anger as he seemed to roll his eyes at her once more. "Seriously? What is your plan!? Kill me and turn me into a stuffed animal?" He yelled as he grabbed at his gun once more.
He stared at her once more. There was a lot more anger in her eyes than there was before. He pondered what this woman had gone through to be pushed into this type of path. This had become harder to fathom when it came down to it.
He sighed to himself before he seemed to look at his options. He lowered his gun, not willing to waste another bullet on her despite what had been going through his mind. She wasn't worth it when it came down to it. He frowned and looked back and forth as he seemed to contemplate his options.
Keenie drew back another arrow as the Imp tilted his head and seemed to blink at the enraged cherub. She was mad, but it seemed as if she had been pushed in another direction, he wasn't familiar with as to what was coming.
"Are we going to damn well fight when it comes down to it? Really? Seriously?" The Imp asked as he raised his weapon towards her.
It became a lot harder for him to question what to do at the moment. There was a lot more interest between the duo as he raised an eyebrow at her. He lowered his weapon before gazing at her curious, there were a few details that were missing between them at the second. Both of them were honestly waiting for the other to make another move. He flipped his gun into the other hand as he sighed and rubbed at his horned head and shared his vision with her while he glanced at her with a smile.
"There aren't many options if you kill me. You're alone, won't you? Do you want to be alone? I don't, I don't want to be alone and running through allies trying to think about what the next day will bring." The Imp asked as he frowned.
He saw hatred, anger buried deep under layers of trauma and sorrow. She had been through something, that much was clear, you didn't hurt someone deep enough for them to want to murder without a good reason. No, you planned something like that. This was some deep pain when it came down to it. He had been interested in what had made her want to kill him so badly, curious about what had brought on this type of change.
If she was so eager to try and face him? She'd not back down anytime soon. That implied she was either crazier than him, or she had been through hell in the metaphorical sense.
The other idea made him chuckle to a degree. He was honestly ready to call it a day if not for the fact he had become more insane when it came down to it.
She was honestly ready to be happy when it came down to it. He was going to be happy at the second. She was going to be happy at the second. This was going to be odd.
She glanced at him with a lot less hatred in her eyes as she seemed to consider her options.
"Are you considering just saying here at the end of the road?" Keenie questioned before she seemed to tilt her head.
"I mean, I know you're not bulletproof. Only takes one bullet to take you down." The imp says while he rolled his eyes. "Kill me if you want, but I'm not the one who's going to suffer for it. Not at least when it comes to getting off this damn planet." The imp added before holding the gun towards her. "There's only so much I can say and do when it comes down to it. There was a lot I don't know when I came down to her." He stated as he rolled his arms.
He had been caught off guard by her. She was something else, something new. He hadn't exactly expected her, but he couldn't complain about how unique she had been when it came down to their tactics.
The hate slowly bled from her eyes and seemed to fade away into nothing, not the oddest thing, but something that constantly seemed to spiral in her eyes. He slowly lowered his gun as he realized she didn't have the heart to easily murder him when it came down to it. There were only many options when it seemed to be odd.
"I'm not going to kill you, not here. Not over this crap. There will be more on the line when it came down." Keenie stated as he seemed to roll his eyes.
He was going to be ready when it seemed to be rather odd when it seemed to end. She was odd as of the second when it seemed to be curious.
She was going to be on edge as of the second. It had been a lot harder than he expected to predict her move. He almost questioned what to do next.
He placed his weapon into his pocket and crossed his arm. There was something odd when it comes down to it.
The Imp tapped on his nose before he rolled his eyes as of the second. This was going to be fun if he was honest. He had been curious what her beef was with him, but not to try to kill his levels. He did need to have standards when it came to this sort of thing.
He turned away from her and looked down into the puddles in the alley. He pivoted to look away and walk into the alley. He rubbed at his temples as of the second. This was far more than he could handle. It was honestly a lot more than he could handle. A lot more than he wished to admit.
He rubbed at the bridge of his nose. He rolled his eyes at her before he crossed his arms. He was honestly too bemused when it came down to it.
The Imp hummed and rolled his eyes as he sighed and started to think of what to do next. He had been curious as of the second. He was honestly ready to laugh at how insane she had been at the second. He had been interested as to what the hell the woman had wanted with him. Murder? Sure, but whom the hell would want to kill him so bad enough to get an assassin to try and kill him when it came down to it. He had been interested as to who the hell she was and who had killed or attempt as of the second.
Still? He knew someone like her was a lot more interesting than it'd be at the time. there was more on the brain than simply whom they worked for. It'd be a lot more exciting than sitting here, waiting around to die in some forsaken ally.
He slowly questioned if extending the olive branch was worth it. She looked as likely to shoot him as she would help him. This would be a lot more probable than he expected it to be.
She had made him sigh, he left her behind slowly. If she wanted to join? She could properly handle him, but if she wanted to shoot him? She'd do it and save the trouble of waiting for him to make a move.
She didn't, he didn't hear the bow notch an arrow, didn't hear the object leave the quiver which almost made him question what the hell was going to happen.
He chuckled to himself, slipping his weapon back into a holster on his side that he'd be a lot more experience with.
This had to end more than he expected it. better than he expected it if he was honest to himself. Still? There was more to this puzzle than anything else. It'd need to be done either way.
He cracked his fingers before he hummed to himself while he sighed to himself and sighed once more. There was a lot more if he had something to do when it came down to it. He had a lot more coming down the line if he had to. This was going to end one way or another.
He vanished down the alleyway, only pausing to glance over his shoulder at the Cherub who hadn't yet seemed to have made her mind up. He'd ask what to do as of the moment when he found them.
Still? If there was anyone, he didn't trust them once again. It'd be a long time before he trusted anyone if he was honest with himself. This twisted game would need to end one way or another and not one of them wished to know what was coming their way.
He heard the sound of wings and questioned if they were truly here to kill him.
It'd not surprise him, but it would take a lot more than a few arrows to put him down last he checked. There was little room for error on his part.
