Chapter 2:

The cafeteria doors suddenly burst open as the two cooks who were with the Doctor are just told to find a seat as they go into the kitchen to cook him a meal. Surveying the whole cafeteria, the kitchen was still filled with clanking noises and steaming sounds, hopefully not anything that might concern fire and burnt food. The seats were just like a picnic table, optimal for group seatings and squeezing everyone who wants to dig into some food when it is time for meals. But at this late hour of the night, not many people do come to the cafeteria. Not many messengers or Rhodes Islands staff seen at this late hour in this very room, but doctors or nurses were common here because of their night shift.

However, before the Doctor could even find a comfortable table, he spotted someone very familiar seated at the far left of the cafeteria. Passing by the empty chairs and tables, he finally made out who it was. She is about twenty-five or twenty-three years old, supposedly long dark blue hair but tied up into four thick pigtails at the back of her hair. Her two pointed horns stood atop her head among her hair that shone a glinting black, much like her shorts and jacket. Approaching closer, he saw her two blades, both of them carefully placed next to each other as one of it's strap almost touched the floor.

"Good Evening, Madam Ch'en", she greeted him politely.

It seems that on the Doctor's way to her, he didn't realize she had been sipping down a spicy soup with a strong fragrant, she herself ordered. He greeted her while she had still been savoring her meal, and so waited.

"Oh, Doctor. It's you", she noticed him, as she pats her mouth with her handkerchief and placed down the spoon she was using. "You know, had you been someone else, I would have scolded them".

"Was it not the right time?"

"Not really. I just think that it's rude to interrupt someone's quiet time", she fixed her posture while seated and coughed.

"My apologies then", he responded, placing his left hand by his chest.

"What's that for?", she covered her mouth, trying not to smile any further. "Please, take a seat".

The Doctor, who felt like he'd been pierced by two blades, cautiously sat in front of her "As usual, unnerving as ever, Madam Ch'en.", he quietly sighed.

"Eh? What's that supposed to mean.", she grinned sinisterly, still being covered by her hand with her arm's elbow standing on the table.

"A-ah, never mind". His eyes nervously darted to the left, trying to avoid eye contact. Even though it had already been a long time since Madam Ch'en's arrival here at Rhodes Island, she still scares the crap out of me sometimes, he thought.

"Hmph. Kidding aside..", she picked up the spoon to continue finishing her soup. "Quite a while since I've seen you out of your office, Doctor.

"Oh yeah, the paperwork just keeps on coming one by one so I'd usually have someone else report to the dormitories and facilities."

"Figures", she commented.

"How about you, Madam Ch'en? How's it going there in the police department?"

"Work never changes, it's hectic as always", she sipped up the small soup puddle on her spoon. "Lately, there hasn't been much interference by Reunion but it's still the same".

"Hopefully, we get over this Reunion situation quickly. Have them surrender to us instead or what".

"If you want those rebels for yourselves, that's fine by me. As long as they don't wreck this place, the LGD won't be involved", she sounded irritated.

"What do you mean, 'for yourselves'. You're part Rhodes Island now", he protested.

"Part Rhodes Island, part LGD. I don't work for you all full-time. Not unless Kals'tit begs me to work here full time, but in no way is that going to happen".

An idea popped in the Doctor's head and said, "What if I begged you to stay and work full time then?".

"Pfft. I'd rather just go back to the LGD instead", she smirked, showing off a sly expression towards him.

The Doctor just suddenly felt nervously speechless, trying to think of something for a comeback but just left Madam Ch'en trying not to laugh more.

"But you know, I like it here. It's not as hectic as the LGD headquarters but it's nice."

His nervousness then flushed away, reverting him back properly, and began, "Well, I'm glad you're comfortable here, Madam Ch'en".

"I-..", But as Madam Ch'en tried to continue, her eyes then darted off of him than to someone who is behind the Doctor. She might not have noticed due to the conversation but then now she did since this one was approaching him. The person had her one finger near her mouth, gesturing Madam Ch'en to be quiet as she continued to approach the Doctor.

While he may have not yet realized, the Doctor noticed Madam Ch'en's gaze off of him and to someone or something else instead. And so he decided to take a look behind him. But before he could even fully look back, two soft but strong hands covered his eyes.

"Wh-what who's that", the Doctor suddenly sounded alarmed. He tried to take off the hands off his field of vision, but it was no use. It felt like those that belonged to a girl or a young woman, but they really had a strong grip. And so, he grabbed ahold of the girl's wrists, and then her arms.

"Who am I?~", a fruity voice spoke through his right ear. However, it wasn't long before the Doctor could even know she was.

"E-exusiai?", he guessed, stopping all of his struggle from her hands.

The girl took off both her hands off his eyes and then rested both of her two arms on both of his shoulders. She didn't exactly feel heavy but it felt like someone was just pressing on both of his shoulders. She then leaned a bit forward while her head popped up beside his, her arms almost wrapping around him.

"Heya, leader", she spoke then smiled, while staring at him. She revealed to be a bright red-haired girl with a shining yellowish-white halo floating near the top of her head. Her one eye covered by a lock of her hair as usual, but it still felt like she's looking at him with both of them.

The Doctor felt her warmth beside him, the halo shining above and all. But he also felt his own warmth, whenever she was really near him. He usually froze up near her and is happening right now. He wasn't moving and is still in kind of a faze when she continues to lean on his back.

"Hm? Doctor?", she asked him innocently. Her beaming red eyes fixed on him.

However as Madam Ch'en coughed, she advised her to take a seat instead just as she had invited the Doctor to have a seat. And so, Exusiai raised out her arms and comfortably took a seat near him, placing her gun by her side. Her wings would follow as well, fixing near her back and shining brightly. Eventually, she would notice Executor who was already by the trio once she had taken a seat.

"Yo, Executor", she did a peace sign towards him. "Too slow hehe".

The Doctor and Madam Ch'en would then look to their side to see a man with a black halo that seemed to be technologically modified, floating just above his silvery hair that shone under the cafeteria lights. He wore a somewhat white bigger jacket under his black clothes. He also had wings, only they were black, pointed downwards, and thin like sparkling icicles. His somewhat troubled face didn't mind Exusiai's reaction and instead greeted the two who were already seated. "Doctor, Madam Ch'en". He then shortly bowed.

"Good Evening as well.", Madam Ch'en replied.

"So, Executor what brings you here with Exia?", the Doctor asked him.

"She found me on the way here since she would be also be coming to have a short meal. And, so we are here", he explained, in a somewhat monotonous tone. "Oh and, here, Doctor".

He passed a folder filled with a short stack of papers held together by a paperclip. The Doctor took ahold of them and reviewed all of them as he opened the folder and flipped through them all. "This is from the Control Center, right?"

"Yes, sir.", he responded, trying to get a peek of the papers as if hopefully everything is printed out correctly.

"Thanks for that, Executor", the Doctor fixed all the papers then closed the folder, placing it near him.

"My regards, Doctor", he placed his hand by his chest then bowed shortly. "Then, I must be going".

"Oh, you can hang out with us a bit here if you want", the Doctor suggested to him before he goes.

"Its too soon anyways, so sit with us a bit", Exusiai agreed with him. "Madam Ch'en doesn't mind.. right?".

As Exusiai and the Doctor grabbed both of his attention, he then turned to Madam Ch'en who just sighed and then gladly agreed. She put her two blades on over the other table and then Executor plopped down his boomstick gun near his side and took a seat as well.

"You don't have anywhere to go to right now, do you?", she said to Executor as he is seated.

"I am sure I am not needed elsewhere yet, Ma'am", he politely replied.

Madam Ch'en was then pleased, thinking that he isn't exactly as bad.

Exusiai then suddenly stood up, eventually realizing, "Shoot, I almost forgot what I came here for". But before she can walk off the table she asked Executor if he would like something to buy from the cafeteria.

His response, "I think if there is curry, it would be sufficient". Followed by a short nod.

Then she turned to the Doctor if he wanted anything but just as before, he was caught in a daze. Then Madam Ch'en snapped her two fingers near him and he relaxed. He'd tell her he had already asked Gummy for food and was just waiting for it. Exusiai smiled in agreement and made her way to the cafeteria counter.

Madam Ch'en watched her as she walked a bit farther before thinking of speaking. "You sure you're not sick from being sleep-deprived?".

"What do you mean? I mean, I feel kind of groggy but I'm still fine", he said with some unfamiliarity.

"The Doctor seems to have found the light", Executor commented, fixing his gaze on him.

"Hah, you're right about that", she smirked.

In the Doctor's head, it seemed like the two of them were mischievously plotting something behind his back, like two gossipers exchanging rumors of the day. Besides, the two of them seem to be getting along somehow even though they both work here.

"I don't even know what you guys are talking about", the Doctor said, his tone sounding like he'd given up and maybe even dodging the topic at hand.

"I may not know about these kinds of things but you look at her like she IS your light. Well, that or you're sick", Madam Ch'en continued on her soup.
