Izuku's Pov
"I'm home." I walked into the room expecting Sergei to be there, but he isn't.
"Sergei!" I called him and he emerged.
"Welcome back, I didn't hear you come in, I was in the bathroom," Sergei said, and I nodded.
"Do you want me to get started or do you want a cup of coffee first?" Sergei offered.
"Coffee would be great, thank you." I smiled as he nodded and went to the kitchen to get coffee.
A few minutes later, Sergei came back with a cup of coffee for Izuku.
"Alright, I managed to track him down." Sergei started.
"His name is Takahashi Ryota."
Izuku almost choked on his coffee when those words came out of Sergie's mouth.
That name brought back painful memories.
Memories of the past.
Where he lost it all.
His first victim.
"He's not the same person, it's a different dimension, it's a dimension where I'm a hero," Izuku said.
"Right, it seems like Ryota isn't doing anything to help All Might." Sergei continued. "He's just waiting for his time to run out."
"Seems like he has finally seen that it's impossible to change my mind," Izuku said with a stoic expression.
"Aren't we supposed to help Young Midoriya?" Toshinori said.
"Correction, I never said that I want to help him, you just assumed that I want to," Ryota smirked. "This whole thing is a challenge for you, remember? You're here to prove me wrong and so far you haven't accomplished that."
"I will help Young Midoriya, I'll bring him back to the good side."
Izuku's POV
"Sergei, get dressed we're going somewhere." I looked over at the boy, who nodded and went inside his room.
I called Dabi to check in with the preparations for tomorrow.
"I'm ready," Sergei said. "Where are going?"
"You'll see." I chuckled as I preprepared our leave.
We entered the car and I drove over to Sergei's favorite restaurant.
Mad Haus
"What are we doing here?" Sergei couldn't contain his excitement, a wide smile plastered over his face as we entered the restaurant.
"We're here to celebrate your birthday, I can't believe you forgot about it." I chuckled.
Sergei looked at me in confusion, but after a few minutes, he gasped.
"Oh my God! Today's my birthday!"
"Yeah, it is, Happy Birthday Sergei."
"Thank you Mr. Midorya." Sergei smiled.
I smiled back, but in the corner of my eye, I saw him again.
He won't just stop.
"Mr. Midorya's, he's here." Sergei caught on.
"I know, stay here I'll take care of him.
All Might's POV
Young Midorya, there's still hope after all.
"What do you want?" Midorya tsked.
"I see you with a kid, I knew there's still good in you." I smiled.
"On with it, didn't I tell you to leave me alone."
"I'll be leaving tomorrow, I can't bug you anymore." I started. "But I know you can still do good, it isn't too late to change. Do it for the kid at least."
My last statement seems to catch his interest the most.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!"
"You seem to be quite attached to this kid," I smirked, I'm getting there.
"What if I am, that doesn't change anything."
"Don't you want him to live in a world where there is no evil, a world where he can't be harmed?" I won't give up. I can't let him go down this path.
"With every good there's evil, It can't be extinguished, it's part of life and you have to accept that because if you can't then what you are and what you represent is absolutely pointless. You can be the symbol of peace all you want but you can't turn everybody good. Every one of us has ugliness and evilness inside. Now, if you'll excuse me." Midorya turned around and left. Still, on the same path as he was before.
I failed.
Sergei's Pov
I smiled as he walked back to his seat.
"What was that for, what did he do?" I asked.
"We just had a talk, don't worry he won't be bugging me anymore. He's gone by tomorrow." Mr. Midorya smiled. "Now, I haven't shown you my gift yet."
"Oh that isn't necessary, this is more than enough.
"Nonsense." Mr. Midorya chuckled and pulled out two boxes from his bag.
I looked at the two boxes, one is from him and the other one is from Ms. Uraraka.
"What are you waiting for, open them."
I giggled as I tore the wrapper into pieces.
Ms. Uraraka gave me a brand new digital watch and Mr. Midorya gave me a book that had the word "Leeper" written on the cover.
"I dug deep and researched your quirk and its past holders, this is everything I got so far but I think it's more than enough." Mr. Midorya explained.
I skimmed through some of the pages and got teary-eyed.
"Thank you, Mr. Midorya." I sniffled.
"Anything for you kid." Mr. Midorya smiled. "Oh right I almost forgot, Shigaraki gave this to me, it's from everyone in the HQ." Mr. Midorya gave me a small black box.
I opened it and it was a silver band bracelet that has the letters LOV engraved on it, upon closer inspection. I noticed there's a small letter "E" right after the letter V.
"That's adorable." I giggled.
"Right on time, our foods here." Mr. Midorya said as the server approached us with our food.
After our meal, we headed back home.
"Mr. Midorya." I called his name as we entered the house.
I turned around and I smiled.
"Thank you for everything."
ONE YEAR AGO
I ran and ran and ran. I mean, that's all I know what to do at this point.
I don't wanna go back there, that wretched place they dare call home.
Home
I laughed at the thought. There is no such thing as that for me.
I shut my eyes and endured the pain in my legs and feet and kept on running.
Without knowing it, I bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry, here let me help you." He spoke so gently.
"You look terrible, a boy like you should be taken care of. Where are your parents anyway?"
"I don't have one." I lied.
"You're obviously hungry, why don't we talk about this over lunch." He offered.
I raised a brow, why would he want to feed me, he barely knows me.
"Come on, aren't you hungry."
My stomach grumbled.
He's not wrong. I am hungry.
I nodded and followed him over to a restaurant called "Mad Haus"
"My name's Izuku Midorya, what's yours."
"Sergei."
We entered the restaurant and the delicious aroma made my stomach grumble.
Mr. Midorya heard it and chuckled as we took our seats.
The server gave us the menu, and as soon as I looked at the price, my eyes bulged out of their sockets.
"Your hungry, order as much as you want, my treat." Mr. Midorya smiled.
He's a complete stranger and I'm not an idiot. I'm aware of the term, Stranger Danger, but he has this calming aura that makes me trust him.
I nodded and told the server my order, and after he told me his.
"Why are you doing this? What are you up to? "Why did you take me here?" I asked him.
Mr. Midorya chuckled. "I understand why you're suspicious, but I just want to help you, it seems that you ran away from home and you have nowhere else to go."
Although he's not entirely wrong, I still don't get why he's helping me.
"I know the feeling of being so helpless, the feeling where you know you can do something and yet you can't and a child-like you should never have to experience that kind of torment," He said.
"My parents." I took a deep breath. "I lied when I told you I don't have parents."
"I see."
"I ran away from home. Those bastards never did anything for me, I hate that place." I gritted my teeth.
"But they must be worried sick."
I laughed. "No way!"
"What do you mean?"
"My quirk is one of a kind, but it barely does anything, they're disappointed about that fact." I baled my hand into a fist.
"And just because of that they shunned you off."
"They're pro heroes, they don't even want my existence to go public, they're embarrassed by me."
"Assholes."
"Truth to be told they never cared about anyone except themselves. They're both so self-centered that they're a perfect match for each other. They don't have any use for me. They didn't even try to find me. I left that house 5 weeks ago, not a single peep of concern from them, they didn't even try to call me." I laughed.
Mr. Midorya looked at me, almost as if he was analyzing my features.
He pulled out his phone and showed me the picture of the faces I dread to see.
"Are they your parents?" He asked and I nodded.
"Well, your parents among 10 others are caught in a villain attack, they all came back alive but all of them lost their quirks."
"Dequirker."
"You know him?" Mr. Midorya raised a brow."
"Yeah, I like him, I get him," I smirked.
I gasped as I realized what I had just said.
"It's fine." The man nodded.
"Your weird," I said, and he laughed, and soon after our food came.
I stuffed my face with all the food that I could.
"By the way, how do you know what happened to my parents and those 10 other heroes?" I asked him.
"I'm a doctor, I work at the hospital they're sent in." He briefly answered. "They're still in there for surveillance, if you want, I can take you to them."
I hesitated for a bit, but I reluctantly agreed.
After our meal, Mr. Midorya drove us to the hospital where my parents are in.
"We're here, are you ready?"
"I guess."
"They're what?!" Mr. Midorya exclaimed.
"They've committed suicide, choked themselves to death." One of the nurses said.
"This is unbelievable." Mr. Midorya chuckled and then looked over at me.
"Being a pro hero is their life, they have nothing without their quirks. I saw this one coming." I nodded.
"Dear Lord, they're worse than I thought." Mr. Midorya laughed.
"Sergei, Do you wanna know a secret of mine."
"I'm Dequirker." He said it in a very dark tone similar to how Dequirker sounded.
"So, you're the one who?" I wasn't able to finish my question, but I already got my answer. "Why tell me this?"
"Because I know, you're not gonna tell anyone." He smirked. "I know, you understand why I do such things."
I can't deny it, but I do, I understand the reasons behind his actions completely.
"Do you have any other relatives?" He then asked.
"None." I shook my head. "My grandparents passed away, I don't have any uncles and aunts either," I said.
"You'll end up in an orphanage then." He sighed.
"I don't mind."
The orphanage is not a bad place. Mr. Midorya visited me from time to time, it's pretty nice to have someone come over.
He asked about my quirk, for a guy who steals quirks from others, he sure is extremely fascinated by them. I also learned that he's quirkless, which is funny because everyone assumed he had one.
Mr. Midorya isn't a bad guy. He isn't hurting anyone. They're the ones who are hurting themselves.
"You seem close to Dr. Midorya." One of the caretakers said.
"Yeah, he's my one and only visitor, I don't have anyone left after all," I said.
Then one day Mr. Midorya came to the orphanage.
"You don't come here on Tuesdays, what's up?" I raised a brow.
"One of the caretakers said that I can adopt you. I'm just checking in if that's okay." He said.
"You, adopting me?"
"Yeah, that's what she said."
Now that I think about it, it's not a bad idea.
"So what do you say?"
"And you're okay with this?" I asked and he nodded.
"Sure, I don't mind." I nodded.
"Great, I'll prepare the requirements needed then." He smiled, ruffled my hair, and exited.
And that is the start of everything.
Mr. Midorya took care of me way better than my parents and the orphanage ever did.
I met different people. Along the lines of Ms. Uraraka and the League of Villains. The League is scary at first glance, but they're really fun to be around.
I know they're villains, but I think they have to be to achieve their goals in which I'm not afraid to join them.
Weirdly enough, this is where I became truly happy. This is my home.
Who would've thought that a villain would be the key to my happiness?
