Once my father and I get back home from patrol, I excused myself and went into my room.My phone started ringing and I saw that it was Shigaraki.
"Are you in Kamino?" Shigaraki asks.
"Shigaraki are you wanting to hang out?"
"No!"
"I wouldn't blame you. That bar seems to be a boring place to hang out all day. Anyway, I'm not in Kamino. I was just visiting yesterday when I overheard thugs talking about you recruiting people. They were surrounding a flyer. That's how I got the address."
"Then where are you from?"
"I'm from Musutafu."
"Oh. Okay, bye."
"Bye."
I head out to where my parents are sitting at the table grading assignments.
"I'm going to head out and hang with Shoto."
"Okay have fun."
"I will."
I head out, walking a block to the Todoroki's. I knock on the door and Fuyumi answers it.
"Oh! Hi Hizuki. Come in," she says waving me in.
"Is Shoto home right now?"
"Yeah, he's in his room."
"Thanks."
I walk down the hall to Shoto's room and knock.
"Who is it?"
"What would you say if it was your dad?"
"Come in Hizuki."
I enter and see that he's on his bed reading.
"So, what would you say if it was your dad?"
"I would say no."
"Yeah, your dad's a dumpster fire."
Shoto laughs saying, "Don't let him hear you."
"I won't just yet. He will hear it someday."
"Did you just come to hang out?"
"I came to see if you wanted to go out to lunch since it's," I say looking down at my phone. "Almost twelve."
"Sure. Are we going to get soba?"
"Yup."
"I'll grab my dad's credit card."
"Okay, I'll meet you outside."
I head out and wait for Shoto. He runs out with his dad's credit card in hand.
"Got it."
We head down to the bus stop and wait for the bus. Once it comes, I pay and we ride into town. We get there, heading to Shoto's favorite place for soba. We sit down and order. Shoto as always gets cold soba and I get the same.
When the food comes, I say to Shoto, "Do you want to hear something?"
"Sure."
"Dark humor is like a good father. Not everyone gets it."
"Nice."
"Is it just me, or on our walk over here did you feel like someone was watching us?"
"I did."
"Eh. Doesn't matter. Let's just finish eating and then we can walk around."
We eat in comfortable silence and Shoto pays after we're done.
"Thanks for paying."
"I just stole my dad's card."
We head out and start to walk downtown. As we're walking I feel as if I'm being watched. I look behind me and see that there's someone in all black on their phone. I determine that there is not much of a threat and I ignore them.
We walk past my middle school and continue to the park that's in the middle of town. As we're walking, I bump shoulders into someone. I'm pushed against the wall hard, hitting my head on the brick.
"Watch where you're going shadow freak!" someone shouts and I realize it's Katsuki.
His hands are still on my shoulders and I see two hands grab onto Katsuki's shoulders.
"Let her go," Shoto says holding onto Katsuki's left shoulder with his right hand.
Katsuki sets off an explosion with both hands, burning my shoulders.
"There are a lot more dangerous quirks than yours out there. You'll never know who has one," the guy that I saw following us earlier. I notice that he has his middle finger up, not touching his shoulder.
He reaches up, pulling a poster off the wall. He holds it in front of Katsuki's face with one finger up. He puts his fifth finger on it and it disintegrates to dust.
Katsuki backs up taking his hands off me looking at Shoto and Shigaraki.
"You hang around with freaks like Deku, this crusty dude and a half and half freak."
"Oh, fuck off Katsuki," I say and grimace in pain.
"Do you want to die?" Shigaraki asks.
"Then you can't be the number one hero. Anyways, what hero bullies others?" I ask.
Katsuki glares at me and walks off, hands in his pockets.
"Hizuki, come on let's head to my place. Those burns look bad. If you're a friend of Hizuki's you can come too," Shoto adds.
"Sure," Shigaraki says.
I rush over to Shigaraki wrapping my arms around him and he breaches his hands away. "Thank you. You know you didn't have to do that," I say and he slowly lets his arms down to his sides.
"I don't want to dust you."
I release him from the hug backing up and looking at him.
"How are you even here?"
"Kurogiri," he says scratching his neck.
"Are you her boyfriend?" Shoto asks very bluntly.
"No," Shigaraki and I say at the same time.
"We just met yesterday," I say grimacing in pain from the burns.
"Who is he?" Shoto asks cocking his head to the side.
"I'm Shig..."
"Shoto, this is Shiggy. Shiggy this is Shoto. Thank you both for that. Can we head over to your house Shoto?"
"Don't call me Sh..." He stops mid-sentence as I glare at him.
We get on the bus and ride to our neighborhood. We walk down the street to Shoto's house.
Shoto leads us to his room. He then leaves to get bandages.
"You know how I said some heroes shouldn't be heroes," I say when Shoto leaves.
"Yeah," Shigaraki says dining his nails into his neck.
"Hey, stop that," I say as I grab onto his wrists. "You're making yourself bleed. Okay so back to what I was saying, Shoto's dad is one of those heroes."
"Who?"
"Endeavor. The number two hero."
"Why?"
"Giving his whole family trauma."
"Okay."
Shoto comes back into the room with more bandages than I need.
"Hizuki, you need to have the burns accessible."
"Oh. That would help."
"You're going to take off your dress?" Shigaraki asks in shock.
"If I let your hands go your not going to dig your nails into yourself, right?"
"Yes."
"I'm going to just pull my arms out of my dress."
I pull my arms slowly out of my sleeves and leave the rest of the dress wrapped around my chest.
"We need to run cold water on those burns. They look like second-degree ones," Shoto says getting straight to the point.
"Shiggy, you should probably also wash out your scratches," I add.
Shoto takes us into the bathroom and runs cold water from the showerhead over my burns for a couple of minutes.
"Do I want to know how you know all this first aid?" Shigaraki asks as Shoto uses the showerhead to clean out his scratches.
"Training when I was younger. I got some burns when I let my quirk get out of control during training. My sister taught me all this."
After I'm done patting my burns dry, I grab another towel and pat Shigaraki's wounds dry. We head back into Shoto's room and sit on his bed. Shoto puts a burn cream on me and bandages on top. I grab two bandages and put them on both sides of Shigaraki's neck.
"I should probably head home now. It's getting late," I say. "Thank you again, guys."
"Just curious," Shigaraki starts as I put my arms back in my sleeves slowly. "How long have you known each other?"
"Since kindergarten, I think," I say looking at Shoto.
"Huh? Oh, yeah," Shoto says.
"Bye," I say leaving Shoto's house.
As we walk further down the street, Shigaraki pulls out his phone.
"Kurogiri, I just sent you my coordinates," Shigaraki says into the phone.
"Give it to me Shiggy."
"Hello, Kurogiri."
"Hello, Hizuki. What is it?"
"Make sure you keep checking Shiggy's wounds to make sure they don't get infected."
"What happened?"
"He scratched his neck and... Shiggy! Stop scratching, you'll pull the bandages off. As I was saying, he drew blood. That's all. Good night."
"Bye."
I hand the phone back to Shigaraki and a warp gate appears.
"Bye Shiggy!"
"Don't call me that!"
"Fine."
