"Congratulations on getting into UA," the principal says. "We've never had four students get into UA."

We're dismissed and we exit the school. Bakugo comes up to Izuku and grabs him by the collar.

"What'd you do to get damn nerd?" Bakugo shouts at Izuku who's smirking.

"I didn't do anything other than what I could do. Would you have rather it be illegal, Kacchan?"

"Whatever damn nerd," Bakugo says as he walks away.

•••

It's the first day of school Izuku and I walk onto the school grounds.

"Come on, we don't want to be late to class on the first day," I say.

"Right, I'm in class 1-A," Izuku says.

"Oh! We're in that class come on. I remember seeing your application in my father's pile."

I lead Izuku to class 1-A. When we get to the class Katsuki and another student are arguing.

"Take your feet off the desk!"

"Make me!"

As we enter the room the boy comes over to us as Katsuki stares at us in disgust.

"I'm Ida Tenya."

"Nice to meet you, but we really should be going to our seats."

"Hi, Izuku!" a girl says from behind us and I see it's Uraraka.

"Hello," he says blushing.

"Come on Izuku, we need to sit down."

I pull him along. He takes a seat behind Katsuki and I take the one seat in the back of the class. Ida, Uraraka, and the rest of the class except Shoto and Katsuki are still standing.

Dad does his traditional inching into the class in his yellow sleeping bag. He inches up to the door, scaring the students that were still standing there.

"You should be in your seats."

As the other students sit down, Dad inches to the front of the room like an inchworm and unzipped the sleeping bag, and gets to his feet.

"Eight seconds. Rational students would have been silent and seated already. I'm , your homeroom teacher. Now, get in your gym clothes and head outside."

Uraraka raises her hand and asks, "But sir, what about orientation?"

"UA works differently. The teachers get to decide how they teach the class. I think the orientation is a waste of time. Now go."

Once we get into our gym clothes, we head out to the field.

"You will all partake in a Quirk Apprehension Test," Mr. Aizawa announces. "We will compare your middle school scores to your scores when you use your quirks. We'll use Bakugo as an example," he says as Bakugo steps up to the pitch. "Without his quirk in middle school, he was only able to throw sixty-four meters." Bakugo throws the ball using his quirk, blasting it off.

The device that Mr. Aizawa was holding announces, "Seven-hundred-five meters."

The rest of the class is excited to participate in this test but Mr. Aizawa shuts it down immediately.

"The student who ranks last in total points will be deemed hopeless and be expelled."

"That's unfair Mr. Aizawa," Uraraka announces.

"Life is unfair and it's a hero's job to combat that unfairness."

"Unless it's the heroes that are unfair," I whisper under my breath into the mic.

We compete in multiple quirk apprehension tests. First, we had the fifty-meter dash. Katsuki completed it in four seconds, Izuku in seven, and Hitoshi in six. I completed it in one second teleporting through the shadows to the finish line.

After we all completed the fifty-meter dash, we had the grip strength test and then the standing long jump test. Katsuki and I cleared the sandbox and Hitoshi almost cleared the sandbox just falling short while Izuku made it halfway.

Then we had the seated toe-touch, distance run, and sit-up tests before the ball throwing test.

Shinso gets seventy-five meters and I get eighty meters. Izuku steps up to the plate.

"Ha! What can a quirkless freak like you do?" Bakugo shouts.

"Oi! Katsuki, shut up!"

"Oi! Deku! You need your girlfriend to stick up for you!"

"Hey, Izuku! Do you want to use one of my shadow swords?"

"No, I'm good!"

"Okay, let me know if you change your mind!"

"Hey!"

"I'm just saying!"

"Enough!" my dad shouts. "Hizuki, you and Midoriya will do nothing of that sort as for you Bakugo, a hero doesn't discriminate against people based on their quirk. Izuku, throw the ball."

"Didn't you hear about the Entrance Exam?" Ida asks Bakugo.

I tuned them out focusing on Izuku. He gets ready to throw, putting all his strength into his arm. Dad's hair is defying gravity and so is his capturing weapon. Dad erases Izuku's quirk causing him to throw only sixty-four meters.

"What happened?" Izuku asks confused looking at his arm and back at the ball.

"I erased your quirk."

"What?"

"It's temporary. You can't be a hero if you become useless after saving one person. You'd be a liability. I saw how you can't control your quirk. Using it once, you'd become incapacitated. Are you hoping someone would come to save you?" Dad asks as he pulls Izuku closer to him with the binding cloth. "Whatever you were planning would have inconvenienced those around you."

Izuku starts crying as he says angrily, "Why is everyone against me? Why is the world taking everything from me?"

There's a shockwave of energy as Izuku's eyes turn red. Izuku stares at my dad, his eyes glowing red as a red aura comes off of Dad, going to Izuku. Dad's hair falls into his face as his capturing weapon also falls.

I walk a bit further away from the crowd.

"Shig."

"What?"

"Can you ask AFO if stealing quirks is part of One For All?"

"Master. Can a user of One For All steal quirks? He says no."

"So Izuku wasn't quirkless."

I walk back over to the rest of the students.

"What just happened?" Dad asks.

"I don't know."

"Ask AFO how to give the quirk back," I whisper under my breath.

"Master, how do you give back a quirk," there's a period of silence. "He says to touch the person and imagine that quirk being transferred to that person."

"Tell him thanks," I whisper as I walk over to them. "Izuku."

"Yes?"

"Mr. Aizawa put your hand out," I say and Dad does. "Izuku put your hand in his."

"Why?"

"Just trust me. Okay, now that you've done that, envision giving Mr. Aizawa his quirk back."

"Wait. I stole his quirk."

"Yes. Now, do as I say."

Izuku closes his eyes and the same red aura flows down his arm and around Dad. He opens his eyes and looks at me.

"Did it work?"

"I think so, but Mr. Aizawa, use your quirk on me."

His hair and capturing weapon defy gravity as the shadows disappear from around me.

"It's back," Dad says. "Izuku, finish your throw," he says as he puts his eyedrops in.

Izuku throws the ball seven-hundred-six meters by only putting one-hundred percent of One For All into his finger at the end, breaking it.

"Sensei. I can still move," Izuku says clenching his fist. "I can still move."

"This kid!" Dad says smiling in amazement.

"Now that's a hero record if I've ever seen one!" Uraraka shouts.

"His fingers swollen like at the entrance exam. What a strange quirk," Ida says.

"Stylishly done," Aoyama says.

"What the hell? Explain yourself Deku!" Katsuki shouts as he runs towards Izuku, setting off explosions.

Before Katsuki can get to him he is stopped by Dad. He erases his quirk and wraps his capturing weapon around Katsuki immobilizing him.

"What the hell! This cloth is stiff!"

"It's a capturing weapon made of carbon fibers and a special alloy wire. Stop trying to use your quirk. I'm getting dry eye over here. That was a waste of time," Dad says as he releases Katsuki and puts in his eyedrops. "Time for the results. Your total scores reflect how well you did in each event. Explaining the process would be a waste of time, so here are the results" he says as he shows us the scores.

Yaoyorozu got first, Shoto second, me third, Katsuki fourth, Izuku nineteenth, Hagakure twentieth, and Mineta twenty-first.

"No!" Mineta cries. "I haven't even had a chance with the ladies."

"No one is going to be expelled, today. Though, Bakugo, your violent tendencies could get you expelled. I lied for a rational deception so you would do your best."

"Of course, it was a lie. Didn't take much to figure out," Yaoyorozu says.

"Yeah," I say as I walk over to her. "If you think about it, some heroes don't have quirks that would enhance their physical abilities."

"So it would be unfair to just judge them on that."

"I feel like we're going to be good friends."

"Anyways, we're done here. Back in the classroom, there are your documents about the curriculum and such. Give them a look. Hizuki, lead Midoriya to Recovery Girl," Dad says handing Izuku a pass. "Tomorrow's trials won't be any easier."

I lead Izuku to Recovery Girl, telling him, "You might want to memorize where the nurse's office is. You seem to get hurt every time you use OFA."

"Huh?"

"Abbreviation for your quirk."

"Oh. I guess I'll see you back in class."

"Yup. See you soon," I say as I leave him at the nurse.

After school is over, Izuku, Hitoshi, Ida, and I start walking off the school grounds when Uraraka runs up behind us.

"You four! Are you heading to the station?"

"Infinity girl," Ida says stopping his evaluation of what Dad did.

"Hi, Uraraka."

"You guys are Ida Tenya, Aizawa Hizuki, and Deku. Right?"

"My name's actually Izuku. Kacchan uses Deku as an insult to bully me."

"Oh. Gotcha. Sorry. But to me, Deku just screams do your best. It also seems like the name of a hero. I kinda like it."

"Deku's fine," Izuku says his face turning bright red.

"So, Hizuki, you're Mr. Aizawa's daughter?" Ida asks.

"Yes. The media doesn't need to find out. It would just cause our family trouble," I say as I see Shoto walking alone. "Shoto, over here."

He walks to us. "Yes?"

"Walk with us."

"Sure."

"We're you and the Aizawa's already friends?" Izuku asks.

"Yes."

"Your ice quirk is so cool!"

"Thanks."

"Do you want to train later?" I ask Shoto.

"Sure."

After we get off the train, we leave Ida and Uraraka on the train and drop Izuku off at his apartment complex.

After we get to Shoto's home, we set down our bags and head out to the training yard. We hike up the mountain to a field. Shoto walks to the part of the field that's bare from other training sessions. I walk into the trees and grab the fireproof dummy.

"Ice or fire?"

"Fire."

"I know you don't want to use your fire to become a hero, but that doesn't mean you can't still train your fire in private. It's better to know how to use it than not," I say as I walk back into the lush area with grass and Shoto gets into position. "Fule the fire with your emotions!"

Shoto takes a deep breath and lets the flames erupt on his left side. The flames started orange and grew taller as he fed his emotions into them, his flames turn blue as his face remains emotionless. He reaches his arm out and the blue flames shoot at the dummy, surrounding it. A bird was flying above it as the flames grew bigger and it was caught in them. The bird flew only a few feet burning before falling to the ground in flames, turning into a pile of ash.

"Damn, Shoto!"

"What?" he asks, the flames going out.

"You just cremated that bird," I say pointing to the pile of ash.

"Oh. So I did."

"Can you still do your normal fire?"

He lets his flames appear and they're the normal orange. "Yes."

"It's a good thing that you practice with your fire when we're alone."

"Why?"

"Because if not, it may be a burden in the future."

"But I'm not going to use my Father's quirk to become a hero."

"Okay. That's why we're using your fire in private."
