"This morning, the Zagorias Federation, one of the Mediterranean coastal nations, launched a unilateral military offensive against Astigos Island. Despite protests from various nations, the Zagorian forces continue their invasion of Astigos, and sources believe it is only a matter of time before the island is completely occupied."

Invasion

A day like any other.

Beneath Med's shining sun.

But shadows cut off rays of light,

The invasion has begun.

...

Hovercraft deploy platoons,

From planes paratroopers glide.

Landing zones quickly set up,

On beach and countryside.

...

Zagorias has made its move,

Troopers march on, weapons drawn.

All across Astigos Island,

People watch in fear, forlorn.

...

There's no signs of resistance.

Too few guns and too much dread.

Before the day is over,

There flies the letter Zed.

...

The world goes into frenzy.

There's chattering online.

UN resolutions stalled,

There's an article in Time.

...

Lunkano sends its forces in,

Ordered "cede no inch of ground."

But outnumbered and outgunned,

There's scant hope to be found.

...

Days turn to weeks and weeks to months,

No diplomatic process made.

The Federation's grip still tightens,

Deploys warheads of high grade.

...

Lukano's forces beaten back,

Soon the mainland, it shall burn.

None stand against Zagorias,

It's a lesson world must learn.

...

Still the world is paralysed.

Politicians dither.

Lukano had hopes of support,

But such hopes have long since withered.

...

It's a universal of mankind,

That might, indeed, makes right.

Those with strength control the world,

The weak fade into night.

...

So sun sets on Astigos,

The LLF is broken.

Ranks of troopers stand in line,

To hear general's words, loud-spoken.

...

No joy is left upon the ground.

No dreams in sunlight soar.

The strong take and the weak endure,

For that is the way of war.
