Chapter 1: Tails' anger
Tails angrily crumpled another one of his blueprints and threw it into the recycling bin. He didn't care about the storm outside of his house. It was like his astraphobia wasn't strong enough to get the best of the fox while he was furious.
"This sucks!" shouted Tails. "Everyone talking trash about me, laughing at me, criticizing me for all my failures, mishaps, anything that has to do with flaws and screwing up!"
He smashed a malfunctioned machine out of anger as the thunder boomed furiously. The flash of lightning was very bright; it may have made someone's vision worse.
At this rate, Tails probably overcame his astraphobia, understanding that a storm symbolizes anger and negativity. He tried to be like Sonic, but it didn't work. It wasn't who he is.
"I guess they don't understand what I have been through or how I feel when I get trash-talked for my failures." he fumed. "Sometimes, I do consider myself a failure. I can only fly and invent, but I have no ability that allows me to win a fight!"
He let his tears of anger flow freely, thinking that he was alone. Unbeknownst to him, Jaytee and Livvy heard Tails yell in anger from the vent.
"Poor Tails," said Livvy, sadly.
"Let's go deal with him," said Jaytee, "I can't stand seeing him this sad and angry."
The two exit the vent. Tails did not notice them.
"Why?! Just why?!" the two-tailed fox yelled.
"Calm down, Tails!"
Jaytee's raspy voice made Tails stop.
"Jaytee? Livvy?" he panted.
"Tails, are you okay?" Livvy asked, looking at her boyfriend's stormy blue eyes.
"No, I'm not alright," grumbled Tails, choking back a sob. "Everyone hurts."
"What happened?" Jaytee asked.
Tails told them what happened to him during the day. When he got to the end of his story, he broke down into tears. Livvy gave her lover a tight hug while Jaytee rubbed circles behind the fox's back.
"I'm so sorry for you, Tailsy," Livvy sniffed, producing tears as well because she was feeling very bad for Tails.
Jaytee kept himself from crying because he has words for the two-tailed fox. After when the latter calmed down, Jaytee cleared his throat and looked at Tails sympathetically. He said,
"You're not a failure, you still have a lot to learn. Those guys are fools, they are too blind to see the inside of you. Everyone makes mistakes; Sonic and I do as well. Speaking about Sonic, don't try to be like him. You gotta be yourself, go make your own path."
Livvy also had some words for Tails. She said,
"I loved you because you are a smart guy. You are a very capable person, I feel that you will reach the stars one day. You have the perseverance to reach your goals, it impresses me that you would keep holding on. You're a strong person inside, I can never lose faith and hope in a person like you."
Tails started to feel a little better.
"Thanks, Livvy and Jaytee... Jaytee, are you listening?!" Tails replied.
Jaytee was in a meditating position. He opened his eyes.
"Tails, I can sense an ability inside of you," said the ninja, brightly. "I am unable to describe the ability but the theory is that your soul isn't just made from two tails, it is also filled with colours—a colourful two-tailed soul. You've got something big inside your tank."
Tails and Livvy looked up in interest. Jaytee continued.
"I'm pretty sure nobody has discovered this yet," he said, "but maybe this new thing might be the stairs you needed to grasp your personal Holy Grail. It's too early to give up on yourself, keep on moving and you'll eventually grasp the Holy Grail."
"I believe in you, Tails," said Livvy, hugging the fox.
"Thanks, guys!" said the male fox, as the storm slowly died.
The three parted ways to go to sleep. Jaytee went back into the vent, leaving Tails to sleep with Livvy for the night.
