Chapter 3: The quest

Tails woke up. It was 4 in the morning. He felt himself tingling non-stop. Livvy was asleep.

"First, the weird vision. Now, the tingling. Are these two related to something?" he asked himself.

He flew down to the kitchen, looking at the dawning sky from his window. He spotted something unusual in the sky; a moon-like object in the sky that had faint colours of blue and green.

"Never seen something like this before," he said. "I should pack my microbag and take a better look using the telescope."

The two-tailed fox packed his supplies. They disappeared into another dimension—inside the bag! The fox exited his workshop. Something glowing faintly in the tall grass caught his eye, making him walk towards it.

"Huh?"

He suddenly tripped and fell forward into the light. The fox found himself in a circular grass area with a glowing orange ring. Suddenly, the bottom gave out and Tails fell into the hole.

The fox screamed for dear life, no one can hear him. He landed inside a pipe-like object. He said,

"Is this another Mario Bros. trick?"

He felt himself rise towards the sky. He looked down to see that he was in a cannon. It was pointing up at the mysterious celestial body near the moon.

"A secret cannon?" he asked himself.

He was suddenly blasted out into space at Mach 2. It took him only 10 minutes to reach space.

"Aaaah!" Tails screamed. Then, it hit him. "I'm shooting through the exosphere like a shooting star! I'm flying at Mach 2! That's a record breaker!"

He approached the planet at such a high speed, he screamed knowing that he is about to crash.

"Aaaah!"

Then, he crashed, creating an impact crater. He passed out. Sometime later, he opened his eyes to see a white wisp with a strand of blue hair floating above him.

"Ugh, that hurt..." said Tails.

"Are you okay?" the wisp asked.

"Can't believe I survived that collision," Tails sighed, "anyways, where am I? And who are you?"

"I'm Yacker, the wisp ambassador," said the alien, "and you are on Planet Wisp."

Tails suddenly realized something about the voice, the language and the figure.

"Hey, aren't you the one from my vision?" Tails asked.

"Yes," said Yacker, surprising the fox.

"How did you do that? Telepathy?"

"You are very smart, Miles,"

"Please call me Tails, Yacker," said the fox, "it's nice to meet you."

"Nice to see you here," replied Yacker.

"Who am I? Why are the planet and your kind connected to me? What is my ability?" Tails asked impatiently.

"That's for you to find out," said Yacker. "remember, you are on a mission of knowledge and mastery. You must discover who you really are to get a hold of yourself."

"Yeah, but what if I'm not able to find out?" questioned the fox.

"You will, eventually," replied the wisp ambassador, "you just need to believe in yourself. It is time you step out of your friend's shadow; you will never see the light if you just follow him."

Tails nodded.

"Alright," said the two-tailed fox.

"I must go help my friends," said Yacker, "I will check in with you once in a while. Bye, Tails!"

"Bye!" replied Tails.

The two parted ways.
