Chapter 7: Enter mother wisp

Everyone else looked at the eagle, and then the enormous figure. Some screamed as well. Fortunately, the creature did not hear or see them. When it disappeared out of view, they all sighed in relief.

"What was that?" asked Sonic, as he wrapped a protective arm around Amy.

"I'm gonna find this thing and beat it to bits!" said Knuckles, fired up.

He was about to go off, but Rouge stopped him.

"Not so fast, Knuckie," replied the bat, "we don't even have a plan yet."

"We don't even know how much of a threat this will be to us," added Nate, "we're here to find Tails and make sure he is safe. I don't like the feeling I'm getting right now. Our friend is probably in trouble!"

"Do we even have a clue of his exact whereabouts?" queried Amy.

"He's gotta be somewhere," murmured Maria, looking at a forest. "he may be inside the forest. Who would want to camp in an open area where enemies can easily spot vulnerable targets?"

"He could be in a forest, but this planet is huge!" pointed out Samuel. "There are so many forests here and Tails could be in one of them. Plus, we may end up getting lost!"

"Can't we just Chaos Control?" asked Shadow, annoyed that no one thought of teleportation. "Chaos Control!"

Nothing happened. The black hedgehog looked confused. He tried it again but to no avail. Alongside the black hedgehog, Jaytee tried to teleport. The result was the same as Shadow's.

"It's no use!" shouted Silver in despair.

Livvy analyzed all of Jaytee and Shadow's attempts to use Chaos Control. She then came up with a theory.

"We can't teleport here," said the female fox-wolf, "it's like there's some sort of barrier preventing teleportation from being possible."

"Drat!" interjected Shadow, angry.

Maria patted his back to calm him down. Jaytee and Sonic got together, thinking of a plan. After a while, the two looked at the rest of the gang.

"Guys, Sonic and I have a plan," said the ninja, catching everyone's attention. "We split into groups, according to our battle type. Sonic will be the speed leader, Rouge will lead the flying team, and I will be in charge of the power gang."

Everyone nodded. Sonic continued the plan.

"The power types will search through the forests, as they can pave through the heavy obstacles with ease and withstand dangerous stuff." planned the blue hedgehog, "My group will search the paths and try to find some clues because if we find something interesting, we can quickly find and navigate you guys over to what we see. The flyers will search the air as Tails can fly, some will assist the power types in case someone in the group gets lost."

"Say I if you agree to this plan," commanded Jaytee.

"I!" everyone except the blue hedgehog and the ninja replied.

"Let's go!" said Sonic.

The gang split up according to their battle types.

Meanwhile, Tails slowly crept up to have a better look at it. He tried to be as quiet as he can but things didn't go his way. A branch snapped as he trudged along. Before he knew it, a long tentacle smacked him right in the chest, knocking him back by a few kilometres.

"Agh!" yelped Tails, brutally crashing onto the ground.

The giant dark wisp flew forward at a quick speed, painfully bulldozing the fox. Tails tried to land hits on it but the latter was able to unleash many powerful counterattacks.

"Ugh, this is hard!" panted the fox. "How will I be able to defeat it?"

He quickly recalled Yacker's words of believing in himself. Thinking of a plan, he tried to be creative with using the wisps.

"Multi-Rocket!" he yelled, summoning and throwing a handful of orange wisps.

The rocket-like wisps hit the beast before it can counter the attack. Roaring in anger, it tried to strike down the fox. Thinking quick, Tails thought of the blue wisp as a defensive weapon.

"Cube Shield!"

A giant cube appeared, blocking an incoming attack. The fox thought of zapping the monster, promptly making some electric energy balls appear on his hands. He shot them straight at the creature, stunning it.

"I have a lot of wisp powers! I feel that there are more to discover!" he said, knowing that he is gaining the upper hand. "This is my golden opportunity to knock out the monster!"

The fox calls in a cyan wisp and uses its energy. He curled up into a ball and homing attacks the creature at a blinking fast speed. When the cyan wisp separated from the fox, the latter called in a pink wisp to severely damage the creature.

The monster soon saw that the two-tailed fox was a major threat. When Tails landed back on the ground, the enemy sent an army of dark wisps and escaped before the fox could attempt to restore the dark wisp.

"What the—hey!" shouted the fox. "Get back here! I'm not done with you! Crud, now I need to deal with its minions."

He was getting tired and beaten as he fought against the army. He felt like he isn't going to last any longer, but shook off the thought. It took him a good 10 minutes to gain the upper hand and revert all the wisps to normal.

"Agh, that was very tough," said the two-tailed fox, breathing heavily. "but I think that the enormous dark wisp I just encountered is going to be a threat."

He kept going forwards, feeling the pain sear him along the way.

"Oh no you don't," said Tails over gritted teeth.

But the pain had other ideas. It rapidly intensified, making Tails slowly lose consciousness and his sense of direction as he trudged forward. Before his vision swirled into a mass of colours, he had a faint glimpse of a stone wall. Then, the ground rushed up to meet him.

"Where am I?" were his last words before fainting.
