Chapter 8: The secrets unfold
Tails woke up after being out for a few hours. He rubbed his head and yawned. The pain has gone away and his vision started to focus on what is in front of him.
It was a temple; looking very ancient and still standing strong. There were drawings of wisps that contained very faint colouring. It reminded him profoundly of tribal and native art. An engraving of a tail was shown on top of the entrance.
The fox could not help but find it very familiar, feeling that this connection was stronger than all his other ones.
"If I can't tell exactly why I'm feeling this way," said Tails, "I need to go inside and discover it!
He opened the door with caution; the place seemed really sketchy as it dated many years ago. The blinding darkness made him stop as he tried to listen for trouble. He didn't like the eerie feeling he was getting.
"Jade Ghost," said Tails, calling out a jade wisp.
The wisp turned him into a ghost, allowing him to see everything.
He saw many drawings. There was a large, pink jellyfish-like wisp on a planet with many wisps. Another one showed the wisps fleeing away from the same monster the fox faced. The small sign read,
"Mother Wisp before and after..."
The fox gasped.
"So that monster I faced was the dark mother wisp!"
He spotted a line of wall torches and called in a red wisp.
"Burst Light," commanded the fox, making the burst wisp light up the torches.
At the same time, Tails turned back to normal. He continued to trudge deeper into the temple. He saw a panel with some text on it. Reading the inscription aloud, he said,
"The divine wisp, master of colours, has a soul alit by the colourful brightness. Granted with colour powers and the ability to use them at the highest magnitude, the divine wisp is the one to bring rainbows into the world and give us a luminous future. We, Amadeus and Rosemary Prower are very happy to have been gifted by God and the wisps a unique and bright child, with a two-tailed and wispy soul, during the wrath of the dark mother wisp."
Tails gasped, piecing the puzzle pieces together.
"Two-tailed and wispy soul... Amadeus and Rosemary's son..." he said.
It was at the moment it hit him.
"I am the divine wisp," he concluded, "a wispy soul with two tails, it is me."
He continued to read the last line of the inscription.
"We are all counting on Miles Wisp-Chromo Prower, the Chosen One. He shall be the one to rise high to success and make history."
All his memories from birth to his arrival at Mobius hit him like a truck. After seeing all his memories, he said,
"This explains my deja vu feeling of the temple and the planet! This explains my middle name being named after the wisps and the planet, and my special connection with the wisps (including the perfect understanding of the wisp language). This, most importantly, explains why I was tingling when approaching the cannon and what my ability is all about."
He continued his way and eventually found his way out. It was sombre outside and he set up his camp. But before he crawled back into his tent, he heard someone scream.
