Chapter 12: There is always hope
Tails opened his eyes. His vision soon focused into view, finding himself not in City182. Instead, he was in a bright place. He looked around, as questions formed his head.
"Am I dead?" he asked himself. "Where am I?"
"Hello, Miles Wisp-Chromo Prower," said a voice.
The fox gasped. The female voice sounded so familiar. It was until three shadows appeared in front of him. He advanced towards them in curiosity. After a few seconds, the figures revealed themselves behind the light. It was his parents, Amadeus and Rosemary Prower, along with Yacker!
The divine wisp could not believe his eyes. He instantaneously flew forward and embraced them tightly. It was a very emotional and happy reunion, after being separated for what felt like an eternity.
After the tearful moment, they broke up the hug. Questions shot out of Tails' mouth like bullets.
"Am I dead? Is this only a dream? Did I lose?" asked Tails.
His family and Yacker smiled at him. The two-tailed fox was confused. Why would you smile when a world is in danger of being destroyed? He was about to complain but Yacker interrupted him.
"You are not dead," said Yacker. "you still have a chance."
"With great power comes great responsibility," said Amadeus. "the ones who use power for evil schemes are awaiting their downfall. You have something that the mother wisp doesn't have."
"Keep believing in yourself," advised Rosemary. "We have seen you fight through the pain and kept going, it was impressive. You must keep fighting, even if the monster beats you to within an inch of your life."
"You are born to be a hero," explained the wisp. "you are born to stop the dark mother wisp. There is no one else but you, who can stop the disaster from happening. You are a vital being."
"Don't let yourself go," added Tails' father. "there will be no other you. Be yourself and it will help you reach the Holy Grail."
The divine wisp nodded.
"You are our only hope," finished Rosemary. "you were destined to stop the world from falling into the wrath of the dark mother wisp."
"Everyone, including us, are counting on you," said the wisp. "you must go now and stop her once and for all. Time is running out, so you must act now."
"Is this a farewell?" asked Tails, as his eyes started to fill with tears.
His family smiled, shaking their heads.
"We are all in your heart," they replied. "good luck!"
Then, Tails' vision went black. Meanwhile, the monster had finished draining the thirteen wisps that followed the fox all the way. Roaring victoriously, she advanced towards the bystanders with the dark wisps.
But before the massive monster could make a move, the capsule containing the wisps broke. They turned back to their normal form as a white aura surrounded them.
"Huh?" said Sonic, witnessing the moment.
"What's going on?" asked Nate, curious.
"Hey look!" called out Livvy, pointing at Tails' immobile body.
It had a white aura as well. The wisps surrounded the fox and created a blur of colours.
Suddenly, everything went white.
