The Eurasian Sky Disaster had been regarded as one of the deadliest ones that occurred in the last century, claiming about 150 million lives. As such governments all around the world scrambled to find the cause of it and after this event, smaller scales of the same occurred all over the globe.

It was an abnormality that scared people to the core, just imagine, a minute ago you're minding your own business. Then suddenly, an explosion comes out of nowhere engulfing anyone who is in its blast radius. With no way to determine when a spatial quake will happen (it's what scientists call it), everyone's on edge.

On the other side of the spectrum were the magicians... they actually do exist in this world albeit in a few numbers. The disaster itself threw them in chaos as the world's mana condensed to that one location, leaving most unable to do their craft. They didn't even know that doing such would have disastrous effects!

Still, it was reckless to do as the secrecy of magic must be maintained at all costs and whoever did this, didn't think of it clearly.

"So, what are we going to do about this?" a raspy voice spoke out.

"Nothing... for now..." another voice chimed in.

"Still, to see such events unfold, it is truly heartbreaking, to say the least."

Casualties are unavoidable when one dabbled in magic and mishaps may range from small cuts to loss of life. That's why they prefer to keep their craft hidden from the public eye for a good reason. It's only natural for people to fear what they cannot comprehend or understand.

"Still, what could be the reason to just gather all the world's mana in the Eurasian border?"

It will be a question that will linger on the minds of the remaining magicians.

Another day, another struggle or so he thought and these last few days have been a headache to Shirou Takamiya. Not only the spatial quakes had made their way to the Kanto region towards the city they live in, but there's also the other thing bugging him. They have a visitor in their home though it'll be more in the lines of kidnapping her?

To be fair, he found the said visitor in the middle of a spatial quake unconscious. He doesn't know if she has relatives around or how she managed to get out unscathed from that disaster. It was through his recommendation that the girl is allowed to stay around with them. His younger sister Mana didn't mind it too much as she felt that the girl will be safe here. Because of that, this enigma is now under the same roof as theirs.

He grabbed a steel ladder from the shed and a toolbox, he must fortify the magical defenses of the manor. In the past, Shirou didn't feel the need to build that much when it comes to wards but now they harboured an unknown being on their premisWhenis just keeps getting better and better.'

The redhead climbed onto the ladder and began to place some tripwires near the manor gates. It's almost invisible to the naked eye but anyone who triggers it will notify him and it's mostly effective against anyone who bears ill intent. A small protective barrier, at best keep, can keep them at bay until they destroy it. He could also employ the use of shrapnels by putting them inside the bushes but felt it was a bit too much.

"Takamiya-kun?" Shirou heard his name being called out and a twin-tailed-haired girl let herself inside. With a lollipop in her mouth, she noticed that her neighbour dug several holes in front of their porch.

"Homura-san, good morning, what brings you here?" he asked, digging another small hole.

"I was planning to have a bite with you siblings but looks like I'm too early, what's with the holes anyway?" she questioned, looming over her next-door neighbour.

"This? Just taking interest in planting vegetables," Shirou fibbed and Haruko only nodded at the words of the young man.

The twin-tailed girl found the redhead to be a bit of a loner. Sure they were both living on the same block but she only took notice of him when they were in middle school. Homura was the first one to initiate contact with the young man and his response back was to gave her the cold shoulder. She didn't gave up though and began to follow him every morning to school, talking to him now and then.

"Well, I'll just wait for you inside, yeah?"

She didn't wait for his response as she made her way in, taking off her slippers and then towards the room. There she found the other Takamiya sibling who is watching television.

"Hey there, Mana-chan!"

"Oh, Homura-san... didn't expect you to be here," said the blue-haired girl.

"Can't afford to miss home cooking of your brother, of course! So... what show you be watchin?" inquired the twin-tailed girl as she sat opposite to Mana.

"You know, the usual stuff."

"Yeah, this is the first time that the city got hit by a spacequake," Haruko's expression turned into a solemn one when she saw the local news about their city being hit by it. "We were lucky that it didn't hit our schools... but those in the district."

She saw what a spatial quake can do but to see its devastating effect on the environment and the people. To see it up close and personal, she shivered at the thought of such. There's also the constant fear that a spacequake might occur out of nowhere.

"I know but there's no need to mull about something that's out of our control," the girl replied but there's a hint of her being bothered by it as well.

"Hopefully someone could give us some kind of warning when a spacequake will happen," Shirou added, sweat dripping on his forehead after finishing his gardening.

"You're done already, that was quick," Mana commented.

"Since we have an unexpected visitor here in our home, better whip something up for breakfast." the redhead spoke. "We only have few ingredients to spare here so don't expect much."

"It's fine, you're magician in the kitchen, you can make the most ordinary-looking rice to something delicious." said the twin-tailed girl.

As he made his way to the kitchen, Shirou glanced at his neighbour, Haruko, who is merrily chatting with Mana. She was one of the many individuals that he had met around here alongside Tatsuo Itsuka. Despite him choosing to ignore her for the most part, the fact they're neighbours, it was inevitable, to say the least.

Still, he welcomed her in their home as both of their parents were out doing their jobs. He just wished that she wasn't that voracious when it comes to food, maybe at some point, he might just charged her money by eating here.

...

The girl had been quiet for some time now, basking in the silence of the room. Her eyes darted over to the letters imprinted on the scholarly tome she held. The information she had gathered the previous day from the tomes mentioned that she could gain more knowledge by reading. Thus, that's what she had done for a whole day, only resting whenever she feels the need to.

Language is the first thing she acquainted with to read more books.

She did not know how exactly information flows through her mind. But the girl knew that she was an enigma amongst others... if the people who imprisoned her were to be trusted. Even with her superior intellect, language is somewhat difficult to learn. Words alone were easy to know as they have a meaning to convey but if were to combine, it changes differently.

She breathe an audible sigh and went back to reading.

The tome she had was about the language that the people in this country used which was Japanese. It is a bit hard to learn kanji, katakana, and hiragana but she managed to get the gist of each one of them. The girl moved on from the language handbook and grabbed a book about this world's history.

Every letter and phrase in the book flowed to her mind easily and she's taking it all in. Much like everything around her, it fascinated the girl to no end on what humans can do. At the same time, after knowing the things they have done to reach their goals, an unknown feeling assaulted her stomach.

She did not know how to properly describe it but it feels... uncomfortable.

The girl closed the book and sighed as she held her stomach yet again.

'What is this?' she wondered and she dug deep in her memories to find out what's going on in her body. 'Ahh...'

It didn't take that long to know what is wrong with her. This sensation in her tummy is call hunger and she ponders on what to do about it.

"Hey," the sliding doors were opened and one of the people living in this house made their way in. If memory serves correct, the girl who has blue hair was called Mana and she carried something in her hands. "Woah, you're still reading all of this?"

She nodded at her words and looked back at the books that were lent to her by the siblings. There's still a lot of them that she needs to read but with how fast she can process each, it might take her a whole day to do all of it. The silver-haired girl looked at the tray that the other girl had which contained food.

The solution to her hunger was to eat this meal that was prepared.

"Nii-sama prepared this for you," said Mana and she nodded in affirmation. "Once you're done, bring it to the kitchen, okay?"

With that, the girl left the room and she glanced at the food that young Mana left. She sat at the lone chair and gaze at the white triangular shaped wrapped in some kind of black material. This time there isn't a spoon and fork for her to use, was she supposed to eat this barehanded? That would seem to be the case with the absence of said tools that aided her before.

The silver-haired girl grabbed the food and found it a bit hot to touch and she alternately moved it back and forth between her hands. When it cooled down to be at least handled properly, she bit into it, and like with her first meal with them, a pleasurable feeling overwhelmed her.

'This is...' the hunger she felt dissipated at least. It would seem that she needed to consume food so that she won't feel hunger in the future.

'To experience hunger, it's certainly interesting,' the silver-haired girl thought and a sense of excitement swirled in her.

She will have freedom to explore and experience everything around but at the same time, it dreaded her. To have those would bring more questions that she wanted answers. Sure, she can search but some of them needed thorough explanation on what they truly mean and if they have another context.

She let out an audible sigh and grabbed the tray. Now that she finished her meal, she must return the utensils to the place call kitchen. She stood up and left her room; this place was unlike anything she have ever seen before, granted that her imprisonment in those unknown facilities leaves a lot to be desired. Just the thought of being outside made her all giddy-up.

The silver-haired girl reached the kitchen and found that no one was there. She lay down the tray on the counter and observed the now quiet household. It would seem that the occupants were absent right now and she was all alone here.

"Hahhh!"

"Take this!"

Sounds of something clashing with one another reached her ears. Curious, she settled to look for the source of it. Just right around the corner, the sounds drew closer and she took a peek from the entranceway. The siblings in the household square off against each other, making her wonder as to why they're doing it.

Mana charged straight ahead with her wooden sword and the young man met it head-on, slightly pushing the girl in the process. Judging from Mana's scrunched-up expression that she's having a hard time against her opponent. The boy pushed the girl away with his own wooden sword, donning a smirk on his face.

"No fair, what's with you and leaving openings in your stance!?" the blue-haired girl complained. The boy shrugged Mana's words and let out a mischievous smile at her. "One more time!"

"Fine, but don't embarrass yourself," the boy pointed out and he glanced in her direction. "We got an audience here."

Mana loosened her stance and saw her peeking from the corridor. She didn't want to impose seeing how serious the two were before she came in.

"Why are you watching over there?" she inquired and it prompted the silver-haired girl to come out. "Wanna watch us fight?"

She glanced at the boy and offered her to be a spectator thus she sat at the sidelines. The redhead boy and the blue-haired girl's wooden weapons struck yet again and a flurry of attacks followed. Their battle lasted for about 5 minutes with Mana scoring a few hits to the boy. Both combatants sat on the wooden floor, drenched in sweat as they both lay their weapons down.

"So, what do you think?" Mana asked though, from her question, she did not know what to say. They weren't hurt from their bout and it's more on the lines of them practicing how to handle a weapon.

"Don't bother asking her," she heard the voice of the boy who stood up and kept the weapons away. "She ain't talking anytime soon."

"Doesn't hurt to try at least," said Mana. "But it is a bit hard to communicate since she can't do so. She can understand us... at least but that's it."

The boy pondered over something and he stared at her then back at his sister. "Let's have her on a check-up then," he suggested.

"What if she does something out of place? I'm not opposed to the idea of it, she may have been traumatized by her ordeal after all."

"I understand your concerns but surely she won't do anything out of the ordinary. We only saw her create clothes out of thin air, if anything she looks harmless." the redhead reasoned out.

Mana sighed at her brother's words and looked at her. They're planning to take her out somewhere and it made her look outside the wooden walls. The thought of going out there made her a bit excited, the things she had read in the books, watched from television and heard from radios... she'll experience them for the first time.

"You're way too trusting towards her," the blue-haired girl noticed.

"We can just ditch her if you want to?"

"Nii-sama!" the young man raised his hands and told the younger one that it was a joke. "There's a time for cracking jokes but this isn't it!"

She watched as the younger sibling bickered with the eldest due to This is what she meant when language changes form. From what she gathered from the conversation between the siblings, the boy wanted to let her go but the girl doesn't want to. He mentioned that it was only a "joke". Going by its definition, it was a jest for one's amusement.

Though if one was to mean it the other way, will they actually abandon her? They might be inclined to do so, they do not know who she is, even herself cannot describe her existence at all.

"Look what you've done, you made her sad." Mana declared and the boy looked apologetic towards her. The silver-haired girl didn't even notice that she made an expression of sadness upon the thought of being separated from them.

"Don't worry," the boy moved closer and gave a pat to her shoulder. "You're safe and sound until we find out who or what you are."

"Rest assure that I and nii-sama will protect you from harm!" the younger sibling made a gesture on her chest as if saying, leave it to us.

A smile adorned her face at their words, if it's them, surely everything will be alright for her.

"Get ready, we'll go outside and have you check-up with a doctor." said the redhead. "Maybe we should also buy you clothes as well? Though, only a handful as we're on a tight budget right now."

"Come on, we'll get you changed," she was led by her hand by Mana and they both depart to the blue-haired girl's room. It wasn't special or anything and was similar to hers with fewer books. "I don't have much fashion sense but you wouldn't mind having plain-looking clothes, right?"

She gave a nod at her words and Mana rummaged through her closet. She patiently waited for the girl to finish her search as scores of dresses flew out the floor.

"This should do..."

Shirou waited for his sister Mana and their visitor and he wore his white shirt and black pants for their excursion outside. He took it upon himself to provide shelter, food, and clothing to the mysterious girl he found in that spacequake. The redhead considered her as quite an enigma, to say the least.

If she could only speak, he may be able to find answers as to what the girl really is.

'Huh, Mana's taking way too long than usual,' he mused.

The young man is no stranger to waiting for women especially when it comes to picking outfits. But right now, his sister is taking way too long to come out, Mana is not that picky when it comes to what she's wearing as long as it covers her. Perhaps she's carefully considering what their tenant might wear?

"Sorry for the long wait!" the younger Takamiya came out along with the girl. "Took me awhile to pick out what she would wear."

She presented the silver-haired beauty who was now garbed on a white dress, covering her shoulders entirely and flows down into a simple round neckline. It's a snug fit which makes the dress both enjoyable to wear and look at. Her arms are completely uncovered and a good choice too, as her skin and the color of the dress form a perfect combination.

Mana's gaze sharpened at her brother whom she found spellbound at the outfit of the girl. Even she can admit that she had done a good job of dressing her up.

"So, what do you think, looks good, right?"

"Yeah, can't believe you actually got it in you," Shirou spoke.

"Please, this is more or less a reference from a magazine that I read," said Mana. "I'm tired of hearing that I don't have fashion sense by Homura-san."

The twin-tailed girl had a habit of teasing his sister's plain-looking get-up.

"Shall we, ladies?" he invited and after ensuring that the manor was locked tight, the trio went on their way.

"So, where are we taking her? We can go to the Shinto district and have her check in the hospital there but I'm sure many would have been admitted before us."

Fuyuki City had two hospitals and the one in Miyama got caught in that spacequake courtesy of their tenant here. Thankfully, the other one in the Shinto district didn't and with that disaster unfolded yesterday, chances are it's packed.

"One of the clinics nearby should suffice," Shirou turned to the silver-haired beauty whose vision wandered everywhere. "Listen here, I want you to stick close to us, got it?"

The girl nodded vigorously at his words as they marched towards Miyama.

Uncertainty was marred over the face of the Tohsaka heiress, her hands tried to conjure a fist of flames but were unable to. The disappearance of mana in the world proved to be a very difficult time for them. To top it all off, reports have been going in and out that all of them got condensed in one location. Such feat was impossible to be pulled off by one mage alone, they need vast amount of resources and influence to do such.

'Because of them, the planet might be heading off towards its destruction.'

The reason why she said so is that the convergence of mana at one singular point created these so-called 'spatial quakes'. In a sense, they're like earthquakes that they're unpredictable and cause the ground beneath to violently shake. But the difference is that an explosion also happens in the area and everything in it will be gone to nothingness.

The one that happened in the borders between China and Mongolia was only the start. It's now randomly occurring all around the globe.

She stifled the headache that was about to assault her when the phonograph on her work table rang.

"What is it?" she asked and the voice from the other line spoke.

"We've got some information as to where the world's mana could be." the voice started and it piqued her interest.

"Go on..."

"The mana wavelength we've detected seemed to have shifted in your country." the heiress raised her brows at the information that was given.

"That's really vague, you know that? I need a more accurate location so I could conduct a study myself." the young girl remarked.

"Haven't you watched the local news?" the voice questioned and the heiress grumbled under her breath. She actually hasn't watched anything from the small television or listen to the radio for quite some time. "Try acquainting yourself with technology. Time's changing, you know that."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. Can't you just tell me where exactly it would be?"

The voice let out an exasperated sigh before it continued. "Fuyuki City."

"Huh, you sure that's the right location," said the heiress.

"Did I stutter? I've sent in documents for your permanent stay in there and a mansion for you."

The Tohsaka girl couldn't believe what she just heard, her benefactor straight up bought a mansion for her to live in! Not that she's complaining, it's free stuff after all but these things that were given to her, there must be a catch to it.

"So, you prepared everything, isn't that generous? I can do all that myself." the young girl stated, trying to gauge the voice's reaction.

Silence enveloped the room as the heiress expected some kind of snide remark from her benefactor but nothing came out. Seconds passed by and it turned to a minute until she heard a response from the voice.

"...You're right, whatever it is you find in Fuyuki must be surrendered to the Association."

She clicked her tongue in annoyance, it was typical for the association to claim someone's work regardless of whether they want to or not. That's one of the reasons why so many magicians left to pursue their craft. As for her, she undoubtedly needed the association to fund her family's magic. To defy the will of the upper echelons, she could risk losing what's left of their research.

She cannot allow such thing to happen.

"Right, I'll keep you abreast of my progress." she declared.

"That's good, I'll keep in touch as well."

The phonograph went silent and the young girl stood from the seat. She took brisk steps from her workshop underneath her home and back to the living room. She gazed out of the window of her home and let out a sigh.

"No rest for the wicked, I guess," Rin Tohsaka murmured under her breath.

Shirou and Mana waited patiently outside the clinic along the Miyama district. Their tenant is getting a check-up with the doctor to assess if there's any long-term damage that the spacequake could have done to her. They're not the only ones who're seeking help, a plethora of people with lifeless looks on their faces also waited.

"Poor people..." the younger Takamiya said while she watched a couple, trying to comfort one another.

"Indeed, but at the end of the day, life still goes on." the eldest added, crossing his arms in recognition.

"I guess we're the fortunate ones, huh?" she stated.

"Yep, as luck would have it, we get to live another day."

"Are the Takamiya siblings here?" the doctor came out of the examination room together with the silver-haired girl. She gingerly made her way towards them and hid behind Shirou with a fearful look on her face. "Right, the girl is fine and all, her vitals are stable but she had an aversion with medical equipment for some reason."

The redhead nodded at the doctor's words.

"Are you her relatives by any chance?"

"Yes, she just got here a few weeks back," the redhead fibbed.

"Well, she's gonna need all the help she can get from her closest family members here. She seemed to have regressed her memories for protection, make sure that you guide her every step in the way until it returns, got it?"

Both siblings nodded and thanked the doctor. The trio left the busy clinic and is now wandering the streets of the district. Shirou glanced at the girl beside him and reminisced the words of the doctor. Even he could attest that a traumatic experience like being near a spacequake could cause trauma to a victim. His was also the same but different circumstances; death was all around him back in the fire, leaving him unable to talk for quite some time.

Shirou's memories of his past were erased due to the trauma of seeing people slowly dying on him. He never recovered those back even when he turned to an adult... and probably never will. Surely, with their help, the girl might be able to remember who or what she was.

"What you wanna do?" Mana asked, putting her arms behind her head.

"We can show our guest here the sights around Fuyuki? It's early in the morning after all."

"Alright!" the blue-haired girl took the other girl's hand. "Come on, I'll take you to all of my favourite places around the district."

The two girls left him on his crevices and the silver-haired beauty reached out to him. He only waved and chuckled at her situation; Mana seemed to be infatuated with her more so than he was as opposed to yesterday. Possibly the other girl's appearance may have sparked something to his sibling akin to a sisterly feeling.

"Yoohoo!" a voice from behind called out and Shirou turned around to see who it was and to his surprise (and relief), it was the owner of the café he worked for.

"Ah, Marie-san, good morning,"

The man in question wore a brown trenchcoat and has an athletic build to him. He removed the cap on his head, revealing his long curly black hair. But what's more noticeable is the amount of make-up on the man's face.

"I'm glad that you're safe, Shirou," Masaki Kobayashi, better known to his employees as Marie, expressed gratitude to see the redhead safe and sound. "Is Tatsuo alright as well?"

"Yes, it was a good thing we weren't there," he then looked at the former Yakuza head whose eyes were rose at his words. "Not the part where the shop got wrecked, mind you."

Marie let out a small laugh and patted his shoulders. "Hahaha, don't worry about it too much, besides, I've been thinking of moving here to the Shinto district. Going to take some time to rebuild everything from scratch."

This man right here was supposed to be the next leader of the Yakuza around the area. However, he fell in love with a fellow yakuza from the other district and was ostracized by the current head which happened to be Masaki's father. Despite that, he was still a respected figure around here.

"I do hope that everything will work out for all of us here,"

"I sure hope so, you ought to find another job while I figure something out," the man urged.

"Just call me if you ever needed help with the new place or something, boss."

"Will do," he then moved in closer towards him. "So... I saw you with a young gigolo along with Mana-chan, who is she?"

Shirou averted his eyes from the man who gave him a nudge to his sides. This man really knows how to push his buttons and he back out a bit much to the dismay of Masaki.

"She's a relative of ours," said the redhead.

"Is that so?" the former Yakuza pondered. "If that's the case, would she be willing to work for me and become maids in my new café along with Mana-chan?" he squirmed at the though of dressing up the blue and silver-haired girl in Victorian maid dresses.

"Alright, that's enough, a lot of people are staring at us now," Shirou informed and Masaki forced down a cough and composed himself.

"Just tell them that offer and call me if they accept it. I'll have their dresses ready!"

"Yeah, will do, I'll see you around, boss."

With that, the boisterous man bid goodbye and the older Takamiya stretched his body. He didn't even notice that it was almost noon and lunch was about to start. He pulled out his flip phone and the sight of the device made him remember that technology in here lagged compared to his. How he missed the days of smartphones and lightning-fast internet but one couldn't get to be picky.

He scrolls to his list of contacts which is composed of numbers from different people and found Mana's number. He dialed it and waited for her to answer.

...

...

...

After awhile, no one answered, Mana may have put her phone on silent and is not picking it up. Well, he could always search for both girls, the problem is that his sister could be anywhere. He doubts that they'll be in the arcade where his sister would often go through as most of the stores here are closed. Only those that are deemed essential are opened.

'Maybe they're in the park?' the aforementioned place was the one located in the heart of the Miyama district.

It only took him about a minute or so to reach it and he saw the vestiges of both Mana and the girl. The younger Takamiya is pushing the swing where the silver-haired girl riding to, a satisfied smile plastered all over her face.

"Hey," Shirou greeted. "Sounds like someone's having fun."

"Yep, probably her first time riding one."

The auburn hair boy decided to join them, occupying the other swing as he begins to move. "So this is one of my sister's favourite places, huh?"

"Of course, I could have taken her to the arcade but it was closed," Mana commented. "Besides, it's not only this place that's my favourite, there's also the harbor as well."

This place also held some significance to him, this is where he spent most of his time with Illyasviel von Einzbern back when she was alive. How he missed those days that despite being enemies in the Grail War, they still found the time to make time for each other as siblings. Those were the good old days... and now that he actually has a blood sister in the form of Mana, he will make sure that he will set things right this time.

"Let's find someplace to eat," Shirou suggested.

"I know one near the harbor," said the blue-haired girl and she invited the other one to come with them. "Hopefully it's open."

Mana's hunch was right, as one of the bakeries stationed near the harbor was open. The trio made their way inside and the sweet smell of bread being baked permeated the air. Rows of fresh from the oven bread lined up and it made the silver-haired girl curious with some drool on her face.

"Which one to pick?" the redhead wondered but it all boil down to choosing soy flour bread or taiyaki.

"What would their order be?" the attendant greeted them with a smile and Mana got herself some croquettes. "How about you two?"

"Hmm..." Shirou pondered. "I'll have some taiyaki, one with the red bean paste filling."

The girl can't seem to decide on her own as she looked at him with uncertainty in her eyes. Shirou let out a sigh and decided to choose on her behalf.

"She'll have the kinako bread, please."

"Coming right up!" the attendant said with a smile as he grabbed their orders from their respective places. The croquettes, taiyaki, and the kinako bread were put in separate paper bags. The elder Takamiya took out his wallet and paid for it. "Do come again!"

The three of them left the bakery and sat at one of the many benches overlooking the Mion River. To their left, the steel bridge that connects the Miyama and Shinto area can be seen as well.

"Hahhh..." Mana breathes in the wind blowing from the harbor, a satisfied smile donned over her. "I like this place the most because you could take in the view of the sea from afar. How about you, nii-sama?" asked the young girl who is eating her croquettes.

"I don't really have one in particular," Shirou replied, taking a bite out of the taiyaki. "So long as there's no trouble, I'm fine wherever we are.

Mana looked dissatisfied at his answer, glancing at the silver-haired beauty beside her. The beauty sniffed at the soy flour bread and took a bite.

"Hmmph!" she wiggled at the sweet sensation that ran in her taste buds.

"Don't make a habit of eating these," the young man commented offhand. "Ill buy some drinks, what do you want, sis?"

"Bottled water, ah, let's give her some orange juice, she'll surely like it."

Shirou nodded in affirmation and he made his way to one of the vending machines. He took out some coins and began to select the beverages he would bring back to the girls. His vision caught the sight of three familiar figures wearing the track team's suits from afar.

"Well, well... if it isn't the school's brownie." spoke their 'leader'.

"Ah, it's nice to see you two so well," greeted the soft-spoken girl.

"Hmm? Who's this you're with, a relative of yours?" added the other girl who wore circular glasses.

These girls are part of the school's track team which is quite similar back to his homeworld.

Kaede Makidera, whose known around the school as the 'Black Panther' and captain of the track team. Yukika Saegusa and despite not having an athletic physique unlike Kaede, chooses to hang out with the two. Kane Himuro is also the ace of the track team, likes to gossip a lot, and is the brains of the trio.

"Yeah," Shirou replied and turned towards the two girls with him and introduce them. "This is the school's track team, Makidera Kaede, Saegusa Yukika, and the mayor's daughter, Himuro Kane."

"Oi, why didn't you include the 'Black Panther' part! Everyone's gotta know who I am, come on!" Kaede whined though the redhead wouldn't take any of it.

"I'll include it once you win the district finals," he retorted back and turned his attention towards Kane. "As for your question, yes, she's staying here with us for the time being."

"Wahhh..." Yukika went behind the silver-haired girl, admiring its long hair. "You have such beautiful hair."

"Yeah, and a cute one to boot," the track team captain smirked while she closed in on the girl. "She's taken or what?"

"Really, Maki?" Kane pushed up her glasses in emphasis and Kaede grinned in response. "Anyways, I do hope your stay here will be a pleasant one despite the spatial quake that occur in the Miyama district."

"We'll make sure of it," Shirou replied though it made him wonder what the trio was doing here... aside from doing runs, of course. "So, what brings you here?"

"Classes are suspended for two weeks as the school will be used as evacuation centers for the homeless. We need volunteers to assist us with them."

"I'll go then," the redhead offered but a cough from his sister, Mana made him a bit confused.

"You sure, Emiya-san? We have your relative in here and there are a lot of sights around Fuyuki City." Yukika mentioned.

"Your friends are right, nii-sama," Mana added as she crushed the pack of orange juice she drank. "Surely you're not gonna ditch us, are you?"

"Of course not," Shirou defended. "I'll see to it that my services be of use to the people. For now, my sister and I have to accompany our guest here."

The Takamiya siblings bid their goodbyes to the track team members and left the park. The three of them boarded a taxi and headed straight towards the Shinto district. There are far more people here as opposed to Miyama, considering that this place is more modern looking.

"Here we are, Shinto district," the redhead introduced and the silver-haired girl marveled at the skyscrapers above them. "Let's head to the department store and buy some clothes for you."

Mana went on and left her brother and the stranger on their own.

Shirou tried to call her out but she had gone ahead of him. He scratched his head and looked at his companion which now held on to the hem of his shirt.

"Let's go inside then," he invited and the silver-haired girl nodded.

As they entered the department store, the cold temperature from the air conditioning bit through the girl's skin. She shivered slightly because of it as the boy led her to one of the stores. Clothes of different kinds were lined up all over the place with frilly colours and all that.

"I could only afford a dresses for you to wear, you wouldn't mind that now, would you?" said the older Takamiya and they both entered the store.

"Ah! Customers!" the store attendant greeted them. "You looking for cute clothes to adorn your girlfriend?"

"Oh, um... we're not in that kind of relationship. I'm just here to buy clothes for my cousin here."

"So sorry for being presumptuous! Right this way please!"

He was given an array of different dresses for the girl to wear, sporting unique styles. Shirou never really cares for fanciness when wearing clothes so anything that fits her should be fine.

"I think we'll be fine here." the store attendant nodded at his words and left them on their own bearings.

The redhead motioned her to follow and she did, arriving at the fitting room.

She entered the room with the dress in her hand and she stumbled on a large mirror. Gazing upon it and the outfit he gave to her, she began to undress and slip into it. Took her awhile to do so as she tries to make out where to put her arms and legs.

Shirou, who is waiting for the girl to finish starts to notice that she's taking too long. He's wondering if everything's alright so he decided to check up on her.

"Uh... you good there?" he heard some shuffled behind curtains and it made him curious more. "Just say something, okay?"

"Ahhh..." a cry of help reached his ears and the redhead couldn't decide whether to go in or not. He took a peek at the counter area and found that the receptionist was reading something.

'Here goes nothing!'

Shirou peered the curtains away and the sight of the silver-haired girl all wrapped up in linen was a sight to behold. Small tears dropped on the hem of the dress she's stuck in and he immediately lend a hand to get her out of the bindings.

He makes fast work of undoing everything even as his hands and fingers touch the nape of her neck. He just noticed that her skin was so soft as well.

'This is poison to my eyes and my senses! No, no! Focus!'

The redhead made fast work and left the fitting room in haste with a flustered look. Him leaving was just in time as the store attendant check up on things on their end.

"So, find anything to your liking, sir?"

"Ah... she's still trying them on," Shirou informed and he hoped that the girl would be fine on her own.

The curtains were opened and the girl presented the first dress and the attendant couldn't help but gawk at it. She now wore a navy blue sweater that shows off her shoulders and a checkered skirt that reached down her knees.

"It looks beautiful!"

No disagreement as it looks astonishing even for him and with the upcoming winter, the sweater was perfect.

"I'll buy it," the Takamiya sibling declared and the attendant nodded, "You can take it off now."

The girl affirmed his words and slowly undress in front of them. In a fit of panic, Shirou immediately pulled the curtains so that he won't see her naked, yet again. Thankfully, it didn't take her much long to get back to her previous dress as it was now given to the attendant.

With the goods on hand, the two walks out of the clothing store, and the redhead checks his wallet. He still has some funds left for him and Mana to spend on important necessities like food. Frugality must be practiced now more than ever until he lands another part-time job.

He glanced at the girl beside him whose attention was focused on the stores around the mall. They were joined later by Mana who was actually in search of a part-time job on her own.

"There's no need for you to look for a job. I'll do that." said the young man.

"It will be beneficial if I assist you with earning money, nii-sama." the younger Takamiya argued and her brother sighed at her words.

"Look, you wanna help? Why don't you start by taking care of our 'relative' here?" he pointed towards the girl to his left.

"Hmmph! Fine, besides, I already promised that I will help until her memories returned." Mana replied and she noticed that her brother now carried a paper bag with him. "Are those her newly bought clothes?"

"Yeah, you can check them out once we return home."

"Can't wait to see it!" she's more excited more so than the one who wore it.

By the time they arrived at the Takamiya manor, evening already spurned. The blue-haired girl urged their tenant to try on the clothes that Shirou bought. The redhead went on his way to the kitchen to whip up their dinner. Moments later, the two girls sat down on the dining table, waiting for him to finish.

"Just how much is this dress, nii-sama?" Mana questioned as she felt that the dress is of high quality which means it must have cost hundreds of yen.

"Nothing much, don't worry about it." his reply didn't sate the younger Takamiya's curiosity though. "Let it go, sis, tell you what. I'll buy you a similar dress, how about it?"

"That's not the case here..." said the girl and she just let go of it, turning her attention to the silver-haired one. "Well, I'm not pursuing it anymore."

"That's good," the young man replied as he settled down their food for the evening. "Dinner served!"

The siblings folded their hands and utter their thanks.

"T-thanks for the f-food."

An unfamiliar voice reached the sibling's ear and to their surprise, the silver-haired girl finally had talked.

"Woah," Mana started as she leaned in closer towards the girl. "You can talk now!"

"Yes, albeit I still have a lot to learn about your language. I can at least communicate now with you siblings." the girl declared and the boy pondered about something.

"Hmm... you know for starters, we never gave you a proper name, to begin with."

The younger Takamiya also noticed it. For the duration of the girl's stay here, they didn't refer any kind of identity towards her. It's a bit perplexing that they manage to get through things without giving the mysterious stranger any identity.

"A name, huh..."

"Do you have one?" Shirou asked.

She contemplates the truth of her identity. She has vague recollections of what she was but even with those, she was unsure of her true nature.

"No, unfortunately, but will you give me one?"

"Eh, me? I dunno... I'm not really good with giving out names," he reasoned out.

"Come on, nii-sama, surely it will be a good one." his sister pressed and ultimately he gave it, racking his brain for a good name to give towards the silver-haired beauty.

It all mostly boiled down to two choices. He had met her on the 30th day of this month so he thought of naming her 'Mio'. Then a thought came to him, does naming her after his closest friend be a bad thing? Not like it matters to her or Mana, they never knew Rin to begin with.

"Reine," he mentioned and the two girls looked at him. "Ah, I thought about giving her the name, Rin, but thought it to be too conspicuous."

"So, where did you pull that out? Is that the name of the girl that's been living in your head or something?" his sister teased and Shirou only let out a sigh at those words. In a way, Rin was important to him, being one of the most reliable companions he had back in his world.

Perhaps, this is his way of glorifying her.

He stood up and grabbed some paper, writing down the kanji of the girl's name.

"Here it is, from here on out, you will now be known as 'Takamiya Reine'." Shirou declared and he gave the paper to the silver-haired girl.

"Reine-san, huh? That's not bad, what do you think?"

As both siblings spoke, the silver-haired beauty stared intently at the written words.

"Takamiya Reine..."

It was just a string of characters. A symbol that distinguishes something and to is said, it was something that she did not have for herself. She now has something... a home, clothes to wear and people that actually cared for her well-being. Yet, when the boy decided a name for her, a tinge of warmness spread throughout her chest.

At the same time, she felt something slowly descending her cheek.

"Hey, there's no need to cry over such." the boy declared.

"Its tears of joy, nii-sama." the younger one added.

As the girl tilted her head, she soon discovered the reason. From the corner of her eyes, there were drips of liquid flooding down. If properly expressed through the language she had just learned, this would be called tears.

"Eh... how strange. Why is it like this..." the girl tried to use her hands to hold it down but they wouldn't stop coming out.

To comfort her, Mana gently stroked her back and Reine took comfort in their presence.
