Start of recap...
"of course, it's your fault Wizard" grumbled Thorin. "So, what do we do with him then" Said Kili looking at Bilbo, "Well we can't leave the lad alone" piped up Dwalin. "Well then we will drop him of in Bree someone else can look after the halfling" Said Thorin not caring.
"Uncle!" yelled the twins "you can't do that he's only a child he can't defend himself" yelled Dwalin. Thorin look at everyone then to Bilbo, to Everyone and back again to Bilbo, he sighed defeated. "Fine the Halfling will stay" he said, Kili and Fili cheered jumping up and down.
End of recap...
Third person pov...
After they calmed down young Bilbo spoke up. "Mr Gandalf where am I? and where are Ma and Da?" asked the little fauntling, these where the questions Gandalf had hoped to avoid.
Gandalf fumbled for a few moments before saying something "well Bilbo my boy, you are with me and the Company of Thorin Oakenshield. Your Ma and Da, let you come along with me on this adventure" lied Gandalf.
The young Hobbit only smiled and looked around in awe at all the Dwarfs around him. "Wow really!" he exclaimed making the Dwarfs look at the child. Gandalf smiled at the boy.
"Yes, my boy, now let's see if we can make you some proper clothes" mumbled Gandalf as he remembered that the boy was only wearing a large shirt.
The wizard looks through Bilbos pack as the young hobbit ran off towards the dwarves. He never seen any before and was extremely excited.
"Hi, I'm Bilbo Baggins, who are you?" he asked the group. Thorin looked at the tiny child before answering.
"I am Thorin Oakenshield, and these are my Company. Balin, Dwalin, Kili, Fili, Dori, Nori, Ori, Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur" said the Dwarf pointing to the dwarves as he said their names.
Bilbo grinned at them not in the least nervous. "Nice to meet you all" he said before Gandalf called him over. The little Hobbit ran over to the Wizard who had some clothes in his arms he had made with his staff.
"Yes Gandalf" said the boy a large grin still on his face. "Now dear boy I have some clothes for you, hopefully they are big enough" he said handing the boy some clothes.
They were a long sleeved blue button up shirt, vest to keep him warm (which was a light blue), some hobbit pants (like the ones he was already wearing), a green cloak to keep him warm.
Bilbo gasped when he saw them, he then grabbed them and jumped into Gandalf's arms. "Thank you thank you thank you Mr Gandalf" exclaimed the boy making the old wizard laugh.
"It is no problem my boy, now let's get you changed" he said before helping the boy into his new clothes.
When he was dressed Bilbo ran over to the dwarves and sat next to Thorin surprising the dwarf as his nephews giggled. "Hello Bilbo" he said to the child.
Bilbo grinned at him and watched the flames of the fire in front where Bombur was making food. As the sky grew darker it was time for the company to sleep.
They had found a cave to sleep for the night with each dwarf taking shifts. Bilbo couldn't sleep so he sat up from where his bedroll was, he was getting scared of all the sounds he keeps hearing.
So, the little hobbit crawled in between Fili and Kili who welcomed the little boy who practically buried himself with his blanket. "You okay Bilbo" asked Kili as he saw the child shaking like a leaf.
Bilbo then poked his head out he nodded his head "i-im f-f-fine Mr Kili" he said before squeaking when he hears a shriek from outside the cave.
The poor boy crawled back inside the safety of his covers. Kili and Fili looked at each other and then at the bundle in between them. "What was that?" came the scared voice.
"Orcs" said Kili
"Orcs?" cried the boy in alarm as one tiny ear could be seen from the top of the covers. Thorin wakes up in alarm but sees that Fili and Kili are teasing Bilbo and scaring the poor boy even more.
"Throat-cutters. There'll be dozens of them out there" said Fili, both forgetting how young their little friend was.
Bilbos eyes widen in alarm before looking at Thorin as if he wanted to crawl into the mans arms so be safe. "The lone-lands are crawling with them. They strike in the wee small hours when everyone's asleep.
Quick and quiet, no screams. Just lots of blood" Bilbo gulped as the boys laugh when Bilbo looks panicked as if it were a joke.
Bilbo continued shaking like a leaf under the bedroll. Thorin spoke up finally his voice stern stopping the boys laughter. "You think that's funny? You think a night raid by Orcs is a joke?" he said voice angry.
Kili and Fili look at their uncle "We didn't mean anything by it." Said the younger but the damage had been done. "No, you didn't.
You know nothing of the world" said the dwarf King making Kili and Fili feel bad about scaring the poor Hobbit.
Just as Thorin stands and goes to the edge of the cave a tiny body scurries after him.
Little bilbo runs after the tall Dwarf and latches onto his leg gripping the fabric tightly. Thorin feels it and looks down and stares into large innocent Brown eyes. Bilbos eyes.
"yes" he asked voice rumbling, Bilbo looks up at him eyes pleading.
Thorin sighs but reaches down and picks the young hobbit up and holds him gently in his arms, the young Hobbit wraps his arms around the dwarf cuddling close to the warmth.
"I'm sorry about my idiotic nephews master Baggins" came Thorin as he held the boy.
Bilbos shaking stops and he smiles into Thorin's hair, "it's okay I forgive them Mister Thorin" came the tiny voice before the child fell asleep in the grumpy dwarfs arms.
