A mega change in the Gx's Shadow riders arc. Forget about Abidos the third, this God of duels is actually Atem. But he won't obey just anybody (after all he's also the Shadow Pharaoh) and once he's awoken with a seemingly new body he runs off to find his partner, which absolutely changes what happens next.

The buzzing in his ears was soon replaced by a strange chant that went quiet when someone screamed his name.

His snapped open and he was dizzy for a moment. He was then conscious of his senses, more specifically his sense of touch. He was in a sarcophagus. He sat up and looked around. He was in a dark room made of stone, his sarcophagus was on a table, and kneeling around it were cloaked people.

One of them, presumably their leader, stood up. He was wearing a weird mask and didn't seem like someone you would trust, at all.

He couldn't help but glare.

The earth trembled.

Both Judai and Manjoume felt an alarmingly gargantuan surge of something as the raw power froze them in place. Then zombies came out of the floor. Both jumped, screeching and began running when they heard Asuka scream.

Asuka was with Ryu and Sho, all looking up at the sky open-mouthed, Sho on the floor. Judai and Manjoume looked up. Both ending in the same state as their friends when they saw the gigantic golden boat in the sky.

There was a flash of light and the next thing they knew was that they were on it.

There wasn't much on the boat. At the centre was what seemed to be a small stage and at the other side were mummies, at least four on either side of a golden throne on which a very angry man was seated.

He stood up, the mummies moved as if to reach him but stopped. He walked up to the stage, his stance imposing and regal. He studied Judai and his companions for a moment before turning to the mummies.

"Choose someone each, I'll duel whoever's left." He said before returning to his throne.

Before he even got off the stage, the mummies rushed to the teens and Judai sprinted after the man.

Judai felt strange energy when he reached the man, barely getting a hold of him. In a blink of an eye, they were transported to a different place. Judai found himself tripping, falling face-first on the pavement and letting go of the man.

They were outside of a building, a shop. The man rushed to the door, which opened before he could even grab the doorknob.

At the entrance was another man, one that Judai recognized easily. His eyes widened in surprise.

There was the King of Games, Yugi Muto, in blue pyjamas and with a baffled expression. The man smiled softly.

"Partner." He said. Yugi fell to his knees, silently crying.
