an abandoned fic I had been working on with a friend
Prologue
Once upon a time, a great Pharaoh was visited in his sleep by a spirit.
The spirit warned the great ruler of a plague that would bring his kingdom to an end; the Pharaoh asked the gods for help. The sky soldier responded to his plea and offered himself to help save the gods' land. Pharaoh asked the mighty soldier to put his kingdom on the clouds so the plague could not harm them, the sky soldier told the king that he could not put all the land on the clouds for the clouds would not be able the keep it up for his kingdom was too big and heavy for them, then Pharaoh asked if he could at least put the capital on the sky, that he could do and so, the sky soldier took the capital in his massive hands and seated it above on the clouds.
Four generations passed and the plague never appeared. However, those of the land above didn't know that and believed the plague had killed everyone on the land under them, and that there were only ruins and monsters left. Meanwhile, the people on the land believed their ruler had abandoned them and slowly started building a new empire.
Four generations had passed, and ruling Karnak was the Pharaoh's great-grandson, the new Pharaoh, Atem, the youngest Pharaoh so far, the middle child and a games master; his older brother Mahad had rejected the throne by becoming a priest and follower of Thot, god of knowledge, writing, music, magic spells, dreams and time, still this hadn't stopped him from marrying Isis, priestess and follower of Bastet, goddess of harmony and happiness, who protects homes.
One of the things Atem loved to do whenever he had time for himself was to sit at the very edge of Karnak and look down, admiring the great view his home on the clouds provided.
The castle was one of the closest buildings to the edges of Karnak, Atem enjoyed passing time there, it relaxed him, especially since his coronation, all the obligations that being the Pharaoh provided could drive everyone mad, but Atem had been raised for this and with his adviser and priests help he could handle it.
It was on a nice summer evening, he had been blessed with nothing to do, so he sat at the edge of Karnak, behind the castle and just stayed there, enjoying the view and serenity of the place.
He heard footsteps approaching him, but ignored them, knowing it could only be his brother wanting to tell him he had something important to attend to or his childhood friend Bakura who would probably just sit there with him and say nothing.
But the person stopped right behind him.
So he stood up, careful to not lose his balance and fall, and just as he turned he was pushed. Luckily for him, before he could plummet to his certain doom, he was able to grab the ledge of the window. Some may say that it was due to the gods watching over him, but to Atem, it was years of training under his brother finally paying off.
Atem furrowed his brows in worry as beads of sweat started appearing on his forehead. He was hanging precariously outside the window and above the endless abyss, one wrong move and he was dead. Summoning up all the strength he could muster, he lifted his head to get a look at who would be his killer.
Feelings of anger and betrayal filled him, and before he knew it, he fell to his death.
Karnak was, without a doubt, currently neck-deep in trouble.
With Pharaoh Atem's recent disappearance and Mahad's sudden death, whispered thoughts were inevitable within the palace. The most popular as of late was the possibility of the young royal murdering his brother in cold blood just to escape the throne. It was through Priest Seth's quick thinking that further words of this treason were averted. However, no matter how hard the council pretends to the public that everything was alright, it was only a matter of time until the truth comes out.
Atem was missing.
Karnak's throne could never be left empty for long. Their kingdom was strong, yes, but without a king leading it, Karnak would also fall into ruins like its predecessors. The public could only remain ignorant of the true happenings within the palace walls for so long. Something must be done and fast.
Investigations were already being conducted regarding the incident but they needed more time. With the celebration of Ni-Yarouou [1] soon upon them, the Pharaoh's presence was needed more than ever. But who? Who could lead Karnak during this tumultuous time?
As Atem's true blood sibling, Mana was the next in line for the throne; however, Mana was a girl. Not once in the history of Karnak did a female receive the title of Pharaoh, to do so would be seen as blasphemous. And besides, even if they truly wanted to, Mana would still be ineligible for the throne due to her age. Merely twelve summers old, Mana would be ignored by the people and Karnak would lose its esteemed unity.
Next in line for the throne would have been Seth. He would have been perfect for it too. He was of age for the throne, he was taught of the ways to properly govern Karnak, and he has the people's respect and admiration. But most importantly, royal blood flows through his veins through his father's side. Yes, Seth would be the perfect candidate for pharaoh if not for a single detail, Seth was already a priest.
Determined to help his cousin from the sidelines, Seth has devoted his life to learning the mysticisms of this world and asking the gods for guidance. He, like all members of the priesthood, has abandoned their names and committed themselves to eternal servitude to the gods and the pharaoh. Therefore, no matter how qualified he was, or how adamant the council was to crown him as the new pharaoh, Seth would not and could not be pharaoh.
The only remaining heir to the throne would be Mokuba, Seth's younger brother. However, much like Mana, Mokuba was still much too young to handle the responsibilities associated with the throne. Thus, left with no other options, the council decided to meet in order to solve this problem once and for all.
"The people are starting to ask questions!"
"Indeed, our excuse of Atem's unexpected illness will soon fall on deaf ears. We have to act now."
Murmurs of assent were heard all throughout the room. The council of priests, along with Vizier Siamun, has been talking non-stop to find a solution but no matter what they do, more problems seem to spout out. The vizier quietly watched all of this. The thoughts of Atem possibly doing the unthinkable to his own brother was lost to him, he raised Atem, he knows him more than anyone else, and mark his words, that child will never harm anyone.
With a weary sigh, he saw Priestess Isis excuse herself and stood up from her chair, following a frail servant boy. Looking back at the arguing counsel in front of him, Siamun decided to follow her.
As it turns out, Isis was on her way to meet her younger brother, Malik. Heir to one of the select noble houses in Karnak, Malik was raised to be knowledgeable of the goings in the court. He may not have the royal blood flowing within him, but may the gods bless his poor heart, Malik was loved by the people, they would bend over their backs if that was what he so wished. He may have been born and raised a noble but he has always been a part of the people, constantly escaping the palace walls to interact with the people outside-
"You there, Ishtar boy," Siamun said, interrupting the hushed conversation going on between the two siblings. He saw them exchange looks of worry before Malik turned to him, lips forming a frown.
"Is there something I could help you with, Great Vizier?"
Siamun smiled. "I was merely curious about one thing. How old are you now, Malik? I'm afraid this old man is finally growing senile."
The three of them shared a laugh before Malik replied, a grin still imminent on his face. "As if an old man like you can grow any older, grandfather."
"Grandfather?" Siamun said, grasping his chest in false shock. "Whatever happened to Great Vizier ?"
Laughter once more erupted from them, Malik clutching his stomach in a vain attempt to hold off his chuckles as his sister elegantly covered her lips with her hand. The difference between the two was striking; if not for their shared parents, most would consider the two as strangers. Truly, how the two could be so different yet alike at the same time would never cease to amuse Siamun
Isis took a calming breath and smiled graciously at their elder, "My brother recently reached the proper age. He is now sixteen winters old."
"Sixteen winters old…" Siamun pondered, looking over Malik closely. "Why, I remember when you were just a young boy running all over the palace with Atem. Time sure flies…"
Malik had the decency to look abashed with the statement. It wasn't that he had changed all that much since he was a boy. Why, just yesterday he was running all over the place looking for his brother, Rishid. "I wouldn't say that…"
"True," the old vizier said, nodding his head in agreement. "However, it doesn't change the fact that you are now part of the workforce, does it? Have you ever thought of what you want to be in the future?"
A sigh escaped Isis. "If you would be so kind, grandfather, please guide these poor souls. I have been at my wit's end with my brother. He simply won't just pick one!"
"Hey! It's not as if any of the jobs out there are great anyway!"
Siamun covertly smiled at the exchange happening in front of him. "I have not much to say for I am old-" he raised a hand to silence the retorts about to escape the two, "-but, I may just be able to help shed a light on what working within the palace would be like."
[1] Ni-Yarouou - (lit. the feast of the rivers), the Coptic New Year, is the continuation of the ancient Egyptian New Year following the Roman emperor Augustus 's reform of its calendar. Kinda cheating with this one though- instead of being September 11, it's now January 1
Chapter 2 - I guess?
After the Pharaoh abandoned his people and settled Karnak on the clouds, the kingdom drowned in a crisis; with no ruler the population didn't know what to do and soon all the noble families that didn't live in Karnak started a war to gain the power of what would be the new kingdom.
A full generation grew and died before the land became organized once more. With the second generation, the land finally got some order. The nobles created a counsel to try and stop that madness, but you see, all this happened in the land that was graced by the sun, those who lived under the shadow of Karnak where abandoned by the rest of the country.
This was when the people got divided in two, the abandoned and the sun kissed. It was easy to identify those who were sun kissed, their main characteristic was their skin, it could go all the way from peanut to dark brown, and they were of the middle and upper class. Meanwhile, the abandoned were of pale skin and the lowest class. The sun kissed lived in mansions and lacked nothing while the abandoned lived in tiny houses or apartments and had to work hard to gain a little of something.
Still, the sun-kissed needed the abandoned and when the third generation was born they still made trades and had dealt with the richest families of the abandoned, who were still poorer than the poorest family of the sun-kissed. The land under the shadow became more and more dangerous as time passed and people learnt that they needed to protect themselves and their families. Thus, the people started to cover their faces with cloth and kept their names secret, presenting themselves with nicknames that either they created or received. The sun-kissed noticed this too and did the same whenever they entered the land under the shadow, especially since they were more probable to be targeted due to their wealth.
Yugi was born in the land under the shadow. His family were carpenters and mostly game makers. He lived with his mother and his grandfather on the borderline of the shadow and the sun close to a mountain that he liked to visit. He had a few friends, though only his best friend, Jounouchi, knew his name and had seen his face. Jounouchi was the one who gave him his nickname 'King of games' and he has lived under that title ever since. Likewise, Yugi has also seen Jounouchi's face and he was the one who gave him his nickname when they were little, 'Guard dog' because he had always protected Yugi and his beloved ones as if he were one. Yugi's other friends were 'Ballerina', 'Monkey' and 'Host'.
It was a nice summer evening. Yugi was passing time on the mountain of the borderline when he heard someone scream. Intrigued, he followed the noise and found a young man of cinnamon skin hanging by his purple cape off a tree. Yugi ran to him, climbed the tree and tore the cape making the man fall.
He was wearing a golden headdress, anklets, bracers, a belt, a pair of long earrings and a choker also made of gold, his white tunic had been shredded by the branches of the trees which had also scratched him, his arm was broken and his right eye severe injured, his crimson hair and blonde bangs were a mess and he groaned in pain.
The man groaned and Yugi started dragging him down the mountain. Once he was close enough to the village, he covered his entire face except for his eyes and covered his companion's head with the cloth he used as a scarf. Returning home wouldn't be an easy task; if someone caught him they could either think he had attacked a sun kissed or they would try to kidnap the sun-kissed. Lucky them it was starting to get dark, and so Yugi sneaked through alleys and entered his home through the backdoor.
"Grandpa!" Yugi took the young man he was carrying to a sofa and seated him there, then immediately started closing all the windows in the house, "Grandpa please come!"
"Geez Yugi, what has you so worked up?" he complained while walking down the stairs, his eyes opened in shock when he saw the young man of cinnamon skin lying on their sofa. "What? Yugi, who is this? What happened?" he rushed to them and checked the man's vitals. "Go fetch me the first-aid kit."
Yugi followed his grandpa's indications as fast as he could and soon the young man's injuries were being treated. "Will he be alright Grandpa?"
"Yes, he just has his arm and a rib broken and all those scratches. I'm not sure if his eye will heal completely with time but I think he's more mentally injured by whatever happened to him." He turned to look at his grandson, "Would you please tell me what happened?"
"I was on the mountain when I heard a scream and he was hanging from a tree so I took him down and brought him here" Yugi paused for a moment before adding, "I, grandpa, I think he comes from the sky"
"From heaven?!" he eyed the unconscious man on the sofa for a second. "Then the Gods must truly love him if he survived a fall like that!"
"Grandpa, has anything like this ever happened before?"
The old man thought about the question for a couple of minutes before answering.
"Now that I think about it, I think so. Have you met Host's family?" Yugi shook his head "Well his mother appeared out of nowhere one day. They said she was a foreigner from another land, but I've met enough foreigners to know that that was a lie. I never really thought much about that before, but now that this happened, I think she might also be from heaven..." Yugi just stared at him with his mouth hanging open.
"Ah, I... wow," Yugi scratched nervously the back of his head.
The man groaned, moved on the sofa and little and slowly opened his eyes.
Chapter 4.
The first thing Atem noticed was that he was very much alive, at least, that was what he thought. His body hurt like hell, especially his left arm and right eye. It was also a little uncomfortable to breathe.
The second thing he noticed, was he was on something not so soft and not comfortable at all. He tried to move in order to find a comfortable position but that only made his body hurt more.
The last thing he noticed was that he wasn't alone. He heard a boyish voice stutter and slowly, very slowly, he opened his eyes.
"Grandpa, the cloth," the voice said.
"I don't think it's necessary, you should take off yours too, you may scare him," said an old voice.
As Atem opened his eyes he noticed there was something wrong with his eyesight, not that he couldn't see correctly or something like that, at least there was nothing wrong with his left eye, he couldn't see anything with his right.
"Your eye was injured, so I treated as best as I could and patched it, so don't freak out," said an old man standing almost beside him, a bandana covered most of his hair but that didn't make him look less like his great vizier Siamun.
He then glared at the boy close to the old man, he covered his head with a blue hood and a black cloth covered the part of his face under his eyes, until he took his hood and cloth off, revealing his soft features, his button nose and heart lips, his amethyst hair the same colour of his eyes and the blonde bangs that fell on his face, and now Atem was sure he had died and a divine creature was going to take him to the afterlife or something like that because he couldn't find a logic explication to what he was living; especially since he had fallen and there was nothing more than monsters and ruins in the limbo.
"Am I dead?" he asked before even thinking about the question, his voice was a bit hoarse from how he had screamed when he was pushed over the edge.
Oh, right, he had been pushed, he had killed him, the one he had trusted his whole life, he who he had loved and would have done anything to protect him had betrayed him and killed him.
The boy and the grandpa shared a look and stared back at Atem.
The old man chuckled.
"I'm happy to say you are very much alive young man" he helped Atem sit up "But you're are very injured so you shouldn't move much for now"
"How? Where am I? Who are you?"
"One question at a time young man, first, my name is Sugoroku and he's my grandson Yugi, I don't think you'll get out much but if you do or if we have visits you must refer to me as 'The gambler' and he as 'The king of games' for safety, we can give you a nickname later" Atem stared at them a bit confused "You, are in the land of the shadow, in other words, the part of the kingdom that lives under 'Heaven' and is never touched by the sun" Atem felt even more confused now "and the only explanation I have for you being alive is that the gods love you boy, you're very lucky" Sugoroku patted him softly on the shoulder "And who are you?"
Atem stopped to think, what he understood of what the old man had said was that he was in fact alive and that he was on the land under Karnak, which was supposed to be no more than monsters and ruins and as far as he knew these were people, humans, living under Karnak.
Should he reveal who he was? It would be unfair not to do so since they gave him their names even if it seemed to be something they wouldn't normally do and that was probably dangerous since it seemed they had to live known by nicknames. He would say his name but he would not say who he was.
"My name is Atem"
"Nice to meet you," said Sugoroku smiling warmly.
Yugi smiled shyly and repeated the words.
"Nice to meet you too" Atem tried to smile.
"Now that that's settled we can't have you staying in the living room"
Atem looked around and saw the design of the house, the sofa which he was on, was a couple of feet away from the door which was made of wood of low quality, there was another sofa in front and a few feet away from where he was, behind it was a little kitchen, plates we're hanging on the wall, there were jugs of clay and there was also a table and a few chairs, everything was poorly made and seemed about to break at any given moment, then there were stairs, there were also 2 windows, one on the living room and one the kitchen, the curtains if they could be called that were slices of wood attached to a pair of strings.
He didn't hear what the others discussed while he studied their humble home.
"Then you'll be staying with Yugi" Sugoroku turned to talk to the mentioned again "Take him to your room but be careful to not hurt him more than he already is" he then put on a piece of cloth the same colour as his bandana that covered from his nose to his shoulders "I'll go take care of the shop" he informed before exiting through the back door in the kitchen.
"Can you stand?" asked Yugi.
"I don't know" Atem slowly put his feet on the floor and finally took a look at his clothes, he still had his jewellery on, which was good, but his tunic, made of the best materials by the best sewers was torn into shreds and dirty, he had red marks of scratches his legs and arms and they had some bandages on, his left arm was bandaged with a pair of slices of wood to keep it straight.
"Don't try to move your hand" warned Yugi with a soft tune, making it sound more like a suggestion "You broke your arm when you fell"
"How do you know?" Yugi answered before he could finish the question.
"Well it's not every day that you find a man hanging from a tree on a mountain that only you ever visit" he shrugged "And it's not like they would just leave a sun-kissed there, that and you didn't look like someone had beaten you up"
"Sunkissed?" he questioned.
"Those who don't live under the shadow of heaven, those who actually have the sun at day, pretty much all of them have skin like yours, that's what makes them recognizable, and also that they're amazingly rich" Yugi helped him stand up and they walked up the stairs.
There were a pair of futons on the floor, what looked like a vanity and a closet, a pair of trunks also made of wood and a wall with a door like the one at the entrance.
"This is mom's and grandpa's room," Yugi said sheepishly.
They walked to the door which Yugi opened.
That room was more decorated than the other, there was a desk a closet, a futon, a trunk and a window with the same curtain as the others.
Something on Atem's face must have shown something for Yugi to say something like that.
"Sorry if it's not like what you're used to, but it's all we have" he didn't sound angry or sarcastic at all but rather apologetic.
"It doesn't matter, thank you for saving me" he smiled and Yugi helped him sit on the futon, which wasn't comfortable.
"It's nothing" he smiled shyly and walked to the closet "You can sleep there, I have an extra futon for whenever 'Guard dog' comes and stays for the night" he took the futon of the little closet and seated it on the floor.
"Guard dog?"
"He's my best friend, his name actually is Jounouchi, but that's his nickname"
"Right I wanted to ask about that, what's with the nicknames and clothes on your faces?"
Yugi looked around nervously.
"Well, here in the sunless land it's pretty dangerous, so to protect ourselves we don't show our faces nor give our names, is a bit less dangerous in the villages of the borderlines but still"
"There's something else that has been bugging me" Yugi sat on the futon in front of Atem "Why are people living here?"
"Excuse me?" Yugi sounded confused "I don't understand your question?"
"I mean, in Karnak, where I come from, it is said that a great plague appeared and killed everyone here and that the only things remaining here were ruins" he didn't mention the 'monsters' part to not insult the one who saved his life.
"I've never heard of something like that, it is said though, that a king four generations ago abandoned his people and put the capital on the sky" Yugi didn't look at him in the eye.
Atem had more questions bottled inside him but soon he started feeling fatigued.
"You should rest, you have gone through too much today" Yugi stood up and gave him a pillow, Atem layd down and soon fell asleep.
Chapter 6 - 6 right?
Yugi was awoken by a shriek and someone suddenly shaking him.
Lazily, he opened his eyes to see his friend's unclothed face staring panicked at him.
"Jounouchi? What's?" his friend interrupted him.
"What did you do? What happened? What's the meaning of this?" he pointed at Atem who was sleeping on the futon at the other side of the room.
"Would you please shut up?" he replied still sleepy.
"Not until you give me an explanation," his friend said.
"I found him yesterday on the mountain and brought him here" he freed himself of his friend's grip and rolled on the futon "Now, let me sleep"
"Shouldn't we take him to the authorities?"
"He's not a sun-kissed"
"Sorry but he looks like one to me" he shook Yugi again and the boy groaned.
"He's from heaven" he pointed to the sealing.
"What?!" croaked the blonde.
"He fell from heaven" repeated Yugi.
"What!? Are you sure?" Yugi nodded "How did he survive?"
"The gods must love him very much," he said trying to get comfortable again.
Jounouchi started asking several questions that Yugi didn't have the answer to, or just refused to say anything back until he got tired of it and hit his friend with his pillow.
"For the gods shut up Jounouchi!" he took the pillow and covered his head with it "Just let me sleep"
"But I'm bored"
"Go annoy someone else"
"But you're my best friend"
"I'm starting to doubt that," he said with a mischievous smile.
"I can't believe you said that" Jounouchi put his hand over his heart with a hurt expression "I trusted you Yugi, I gave you my name and showed you my face, I thought we had something special!" he let himself fall over Yugi's little body, crushing his friend with his weight.
"Jounouchi, don't be an ass, get off" Yugi tried to push his friend off of him but the blonde put pressure on him to not let himself be moved.
Both chuckled but shut up when they heard a third voice.
Atem was lying on the futon, staring at them smiling; Jounouchi stared back with eyes open wide and Yugi looked at the side with blushed cheeks.
"Good morning Atem," said Yugi "How did you sleep?"
"It wasn't that bad" he lied.
His body was aching, it had been nothing like the beds in the palace, he had only managed to fall asleep because of how tired he had been.
"Hello, Uhm, Atem, I'm Jounouchi, this boy's best friend" Jounouchi sat on the futon finally getting off of Yugi "Nice to meet you"
"Nice to meet you too" Atem slowly sat down, careful of his injuries.
Us talking bout the fic and what was planned for it:
OOOOOHHHHHH, WHEN HIS MOM FELL HE ASKS FOR HELP FROM THE GODS BUT IS ZORC WHO ANSWERS HIS CALL, HE SAVES RYO AND HIS MOM, BUT WHAT IF RYO WAS JUST A BABY AND BAKURA REMEMBERS HIS BABY BROTHER BUT ISN'T SURE IF HE'S ALRIGHT UNTIL THE GANG GOES TO KARNAK AND BAKURA IS LIKE, BROTHER IS THAT YOU? INTERNALLY, HE WANTS HIS BROTHER TO BE HIS ALLY AND TRIES TO BEFRIEND HIM BUT OH DEAR, ATEM IS THERE AND NOT HAPPY
He seated his hands on the shoulders of the albino, both with tears in their eyes, Ryo was biting his lip while Bakura couldn't erase the smile of his face then as tears rolled down his face, he finally spoke.
"thank gods your name isn't Florence"
I'm planning on writing a scene in where Atem is fucking tired of feeling dirty so he ask Yugi if there's a place he can take a bath so he takes him to a river close to the mountain and they bath but slightly awkward cuz Yugi is not used to see nor show too much naked skin and he's avoiding hard to look at Atem who is kinda used to it
Then time later when they're relationship develops more they go take a bath together in the river but unlike before they undress together while running and cannonball into the river and the play and laugh and then they make out a bit before returning home
Let them have a moment of peace before Karnak drama comes in haha
Oh yeah I'm gonna put a time stamp before every chap I make so you'll know what time they take place for chronology and cosistency haha
I'll delete them once we start posting
Bakura and Marik sneaking around the castle looking for a good place to hide and relax together and maybe make out a bit
Marik heartbraked about the fact that it was Bakura who tried to murder Atem and killed Mahad, nd worst, was going to kill him too, and he's just staring at him in disbelief while Bakura looks away angryly and ashamed, and Marik can't even cry because it's to much of a shock
Ryo notices his inside struggle and walks to him and puts a hand over his shoulder, with tears in his eyes cuz he can also see that Bakura is struggling with it,
Marik doesn't turn to look at him but he does see him
And Marik silently thanks Ryo because the hand on the shoulder thing kinda help him ground himself
And he talks to Bakura
"Was it ever a lie...?" Marik whispers, too softly for anyone to hear but Bakura does. Bakura always hears him.
Bakura shook his head, and looked down in shame
"You already know the answer to that, Pasha." And indeed, Marik knows. He knew it from the moment he met Bakura. "I would never lie to you.
Imagine, Marik turning and walking away from Bakura
Who has the urge to chase after him
He wants Marik to know that his love for him was never a lie
He wants Marik to forgive him even if he knows he doesn't deserve it
He want to run after Marik, to let himself cry, to Marik to hug him and to never have done what he did, because he isn't even sure why he did it, it was almost as if his body moved on his own or someone else's will, he didn't want to, he wants Marik to know, but he knows no one would, could believe him, not even Marik who he wishes so much would believe him
So he doesn't chase after Marik
He looks down, trying to hide the tears that are starting to roll down his face
He wants to disappear or die, he wants the earth to swallow him hole and to end it all
But he know that's impossible, and he wants to make sure Marik will be alright
You know what will be funny? If Bakura gets judged for this and Marik is the one who gives the verdict
So he calls Ryo, who is still standing there staring at Marik walking away, he doesn't look up, and his voice sounds hoarse from trying to not cry when he asks Ryo to take care of Marik
Now that would be fucked up
And they both have no choice but to obviously accept the guilty verdict because "Someone once told me that the law must judge accodingly with bias whatsoever."
"...must be a great man."
"Not really. He was a ruffian. Always causing trouble everywhere. Always messing everything up. But he was a good man. Somewhere there. Undernearth all pretenses. He was a good man."
Ryo nodding and promising Bakura he will, then he runs after Marik, finally alone, Bakura falls on his knees and let's himself cry
Like would Bakura attempt to escape for the big fight? Or is this gonna happen in the last chapter?
I guess it wouldn't be the last chapter, one of the lasts tho
Unless you can take the plot out of a corpse I asure you that method isn't going to work
I think he would consider it, maybe try, but he doesn't really have that much if an option because of Zorc and the deal his mom made with him
Okay good. The trial will involve getting sent to jail and managing to escape (foul play? Help from the inside? Who knows?)
Is Bakura going to die in the final battle?
He barely survives
Okay do you have any plans for him after that or can I kill him?
He manages to scape on his own because he's Bakura, none ever sees him again, that was the plan
But if you want to kill him go ahead
You know I would never oppose to kill one of them
He sends gifts on Marik's bday, anonymously
Nah. I just want to see how a public execution will play out- I mean he just committed treason and summoned a dark god. Basically I just want Marik to look him in the eye as he dies so *dies*
I like your plan too- happy endings. I love it XD
Maybe an alternate ending then- gonna be a deleted scene tho haha
He sends a small smile Marik's way before he dies
Also it was his mom who summouned the dark spirit, well, it kinda simmouned himself and made her think she was making a deal with a good god
But no
It was old pal Zorc
And think about the soft, sweet and gentle angstshipping that comes after Bakura dies/escapes prison
ntle, almost hesitant touches
Definitely hesitant touches.
I will make it painful bro
Painfully sweet
I'm not sure about the sweet part but I guess?
Marik sending little, sad (with time happier) smiles in Ryo's way
Light hand/finger touches, and shoulder touches
Both slowly grow to love the other
Like Marik the resident nerd part-time king creates this contraption for scribes/students to help them record things and gives the prototype to Bakura who uses it to store his memories- the important ones at least. And then bam, he dies right? Ryou picks the locket up as memento and when he puts it on he gets bombarded with Bakura's memories. Surprisingly enough (or maybe not depending on the narrative) most of the memories include a smiling Marik (with the occasional Kul Elna talk hi)
