"You fell out a window?" Sean shouted, stomping right up to Nikita in Medical. Whereas Michael was gentle with her, trying his best to soothe her bruised ribs and various glass cuts, Sean was brash and irritated. He had to hear the news about his sister secondhand. He had been sitting with Alex as she floated in and out of consciousness when the agents rushed out to face the terrorists. He wasn't aware of anything that had happened in the field, until he heard commotion in the hallway. Neither Michael nor Nikita said anything to Sean, however. Some random agent told him offhandedly when he asked what was going on. That wasn't right.

Glancing between the siblings, Michael wisely decided to stay out of it. He'd been caught in fights between the Pierces before. He knew he'd typically side with Nikita, even if he'd agree with some of Sean's points. That didn't bode well with either of their stubbornness. Michael could already see that expressed on their faces. To save everyone from further trouble, he had to leave. He tucked Nikita's hair behind her ear and placed a kiss on her temple before he did so. She more or less ignored him. Her annoyed attention was narrowed on her brother, "I'm fine."

"You were almost shot, then you were shoved out a window. Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Continuing to shout, Sean couldn't contain his thoughts. Why should he, though. His sister had to know how he felt. Within two missions to capture one Dirty Thirty, both Alex and Nikita were nearly killed. They had to stop. Sometimes, it was okay to leave the world saving to others. It wouldn't even just be for their health. Their friends could breathe a lot easier if they weren't so worried about the two women. Sean's heart would certainly appreciate it. He couldn't even face the thought of losing Nikita or Alex. He just needed them to be safe.

"I said I was fine. God, you're worse than Michael," Rolling her eyes, Nikita groaned. She was scratched and bruised, that was all. Alright, fine, she was also shaken up over Mia's words. What kind of future was there in her past. She could never truly go back. She was well aware of that. She'd done too much, caused too much damage, to return to that place of warmth and love. So what was she even fighting for. Mia at least knew what was ahead of her. She had a future in her chaotic change. Nikita, on the other hand, was unsure. She stood on shaky ground.

"Someone has to talk sense into you," As her brother yelled, however, Nikita decided not to share her thoughts with him. She knew she was struggling; she didn't need Sean to tell her that. She needed to get her thoughts in order. She had to know how she truly wanted her time with Division to end. She had always wanted the place to burn. But there she was, keeping it alive to stop others. When would it eventually end- when everyone was home. They couldn't all go home, though. That wasn't the life allotted to them.

Nikita could fight for it to be. She could make that their life. That was why she had gone against the President. Someone had to be in the discarded people's corner. Someone had to actually care about them. Everyone (more or less) deserved a happy life. No one should be swept away or hidden. Nikita always argued about that. She was so determined to put forth better than she received. It shouldn't have mattered that Mia was fighting against her, nor did it matter what she thought she deserved. The former rogue had to help others, "What sense? I'm doing my damn job. We take out the Dirty Thirties, we go home."

"You can go home without the pardons. You were never a criminal," Sean kept arguing. He didn't understand. He did (he was in the Navy, after all) but he didn't get what Nikita wanted. It was essentially the same argument he had had with Alex. She didn't listen to him either. Yes, because she was still recovering from a bullet wound. But also, she was too stubborn to accept that there could be other heroes. Neither Nikita nor Alex were beholden to Division anymore. Their mission was complete. They had lives to return to.

Of course Alex and Sean could leave Division and continue living their lives. But Nikita had been killed. She had to gain her identity back, and so did Michael. Ryan, Birkhoff, Owen (wherever the fuck he was), and the rest of Division weren't afforded the same luxury. In order to live, to not go back to prison, they had to keep fighting. It wouldn't have been fair just to leave them. They were Nikita's family too. She couldn't force them into a terrible situation without her, "I don't abandon people, Sean. I won't shove people under a rug and just walk away."

She walked away from the conversation, however. But that was simply to make her point to Sean. Nikita also wanted to see if Alex was doing okay; though, she didn't share that thought with her brother. He just had to frustratedly watch her walk away. After a moment of tense silence, he groaned and stomped away as well. If his sister wasn't going to talk to him, then so be it. He'd get someone else to talk sense into her instead. The first person he found that could was Michael. The Seal spotted the agent attempting a weird knife move in the training room. Sean got him to practice it on him as he begged, "Nikita listens to you. You have to talk to her."

"I did. She's doing something she believes is right. I can't fight her on that," Michael shrugged. The two had talked on the ride back to Division. He asked what was troubling her mind, and she told him about her concerns with Mia. He was surprised she was so honest about it. The conversation must've really bothered her if she so willingly vented. Michael didn't have any answers for her, though. He just supported whatever Nikita would decide. That was enough comfort for her. She always needed someone in her corner.

"What about Alex?" Sean wouldn't let it go. He was barely paying attention to what Michael was doing with the practice knife. He absentmindedly blocked moves as his mind was preoccupied with the worst of his thoughts. Maybe he should've vented to Michael about them instead of complaining about his sister and potential girlfriend. Out of everyone in Division, the agent would possibly understand him the most. He cared deeply for Nikita and Alex as well; the danger they had fallen into scared him greatly. Michael simply seemed more composed than Sean. They could easily rant together, if the Seal just opened up.

"Different ballgame. Usually leave that up to you and Nikita," Although Michael could talk to Alex, and they typically had great conversations, convincing her to do anything wasn't his forte. The two were better for comfort and advice filled talks- or simply joking around. She didn't tend to listen to his orders, even when she was a recruit. It was Nikita's job to issue her commands. Michael simply provided support. If Sean really wanted Alex to listen to him, then he had to talk to her himself. Their communication problem was for them to work out.

"Right. Cause Nikita will convince her to save herself," Sean was a bit rough as he blocked Michael. Yes, Nikita and Alex could talk to each other and understand one another more than their friends and family could. But that wasn't always a good thing. They had to listen to more than the people that would encourage them. Other perspectives had to penetrate their hard heads. The two weren't always right; it wasn't their way and no one else's. Obviously, their way was going to get them killed. Maybe someone else should be in charge instead.

Pushing back against Sean, Michael studied him curiously. He had been fine when they investigated the hockey arena together. The Seal had been great at investigating what the terrorist organization was planning, and at questioning the lead security officer; he had some solid ideas about what might be occurring. After Alex was shot, he was understandably shaken up. Except, she had made it through surgery perfectly fine. She would recover in no time. Something else had Sean twisted up inside. Michael was going to guess it involved both Nikita and Alex. They absolutely had him freaking out, "You good?"

"What are you even doing?" Ignoring the question, Sean demanded to know. He had yet to figure out what Michael was doing with the practice knife. And he'd much rather discover what he was up to than focus on the two women. The more he watched the agent practice, the more he recognized the move. But whatever it was, Michael was severely untrained. Nikita had once made a teasing comment about her fiancé's knife skills. Sean was certain he had laughed at it at the time. But in that moment, he forced the thought away. He couldn't think about it.

"The terrorist leader, Joshua, moved like this. I'm thinking he's Special Forces," Michael sighed as he told him. He wanted to keep pressing Sean. The emotions he was holding hostage were bound to explode. However, there was still a terrorist organization to worry about. Not only was there a former Division agent among their ranks, but their leader appeared well trained. That would've explained how the terrorists were able to fight the Alpha team successfully. They were dealing with more than just a homegrown group.

"Moves like a Seal. But much faster. Getting engaged made you slow," Completely forcing his thoughts of Nikita and Alex away, Sean was able to joke. Once he realized what Michael was doing, he was able to successfully take the knife from him. He also playfully smacked him on the cheek. That was mostly to keep him distracted, though. Sean had learned the move from Nikita. Taunt Michael (or anyone else) and bait them with a sparring session, and they'd forget what was wrong with you. He had fallen for it himself a few times. Hopefully, Michael wouldn't realize what he was up to.

"And I don't even have my ring yet," Breaking the knife out of Sean's hand, Michael knew exactly what his goal was. He wasn't as good at the distraction as his sister was. Though, in all honesty, Michael always knew when Nikita was trying to avoid a subject. He only went along with it to appease her. She told him what was on her mind eventually. He simply had to have patience. He could do the same thing with Sean. After the situation with their Dirty Thirty was resolved, he'd force him to open up. In the meantime, he'd punch the Seal in the arm and make him follow, "Come on. We should let the nerds know what we think."

Birkhoff and Sonya were ready and willing to do something. The two continued to feel guilty about what happened to Alex at the prison. There had to be something more they could do to make up for their blunders- although everyone, including Alex, claimed they didn't have to. It was just something they had to prove to themselves. They could still be useful to their team. Fortunately, with the two Navy men's information and the video sharing app Birkhoff had already hacked, the hackers were able to find Joshua quickly. There had been a picture of him and his Army unit posted online, "You're right. Our terrorist leader was Special Forces."

"And that's the security officer we talked to," Instantly, Michael pointed out the man he and Sean had interrogated; he could be seen clearly next to the leader of the terrorist organization. The unit had been on successful tours overseas, often working with other Special Forces units- like the Seals. They would've learned impressive skills together and grown incredibly close. If one of them was raising hell with a terrorist organization, then another would've heard about it. At least, that was the hope.

"They were in the same unit? No way that's a coincidence," Sean shook his head. The security officer definitely knew what the terrorist leader was doing. Two Army buddies seemingly working against each other years later, that didn't just happen out of the blue. They were up to something. Ryan agreed. He wanted Michael and Sean to investigate further at the hockey arena, while Nikita and the Alpha team stopped the terrorist attack. Despite all their efforts, there was still a bombing to stop. A senator and tons of innocents had to be saved.

"I can take Mia on my own. You guys provide backup," Rejoining the others, Nikita negated. She had just had a lengthy conversation with Alex about what they considered was the right thing to do concerning Division. It was settled that everyone deserved a second chance at home, despite what they believed or had gone through. Nikita wanted to offer that belief to Mia. Michael was intrigued by the idea, wanting to know exactly what she was thinking. Sean, on the other hand, was irritated with her. Yet Nikita ignored him. She wouldn't allow herself to become distracted again, "Just let me handle it."

Whereas Sean wanted to continue arguing, the rest of the team was ready to roll. Birkhoff gave them some new tech to help them on their mission; they wouldn't be caught unaware that time. He had a drone for Michael, Sean, and the Alpha team to investigate the area. And for Nikita, he had a modified taser. If Mia was wearing the explosive vest again, the agent wouldn't be able to shoot. However, she could electrocute. The weapon would disable both the vest and their Dirty Thirty. They shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Facing Joshua and his fellow corrupt Army buddy, Sean and Michael had no trouble. Sonya helped Birkhoff use his drone to capture footage of the two conspiring, and the agents in the field were able to take them down. Michael was even successful against Joshua's knife attack. Though, he had Sean to thank for that. The two Navy men made a great team. They were able to take out one threat. But Nikita was still across the arena dealing with the other. She wouldn't accept the available help. She had it.

After all, Mia wasn't wearing the explosive vest; the Alpha team had to find it as she talked to their rogue. Nikita had to make her understand the truth. The terrorist organization wasn't the way home. Division probably wasn't either, but she had more of a choice with that place. Mia didn't have to kill innocents anymore. She could be free of that pain and actually help others. It was what they were striving to do every single day. At first, Mia didn't believe it. But then she saw the footage of Joshua betraying her trust. After that, she was determined to help.

Mia and Nikita were able to locate the terrorist with the bomb quickly. Mia just wanted to talk to him, though. She believed she could reason with him. Yet she wasn't so lucky. One of the senator's guards saw the explosive vest and instinctively shot. In order to save everyone from the blast, Mia took the bullet. Nikita dropped to the ground with her, needing to keep her safe. She couldn't die when she finally had a chance to make a difference. Except, Mia was content. She believed that had been her chance. Nikita should live instead, be the hero for all of them. The former rogue didn't feel like one, however. Despite the victory, she knew she failed.
