This was really fun to write! Enjoy :) I don't believe there are any triggers. brief mention of firewhiskey?

Severus could see the excitement forming in that little know-it girl that was trapped in the bubble. He knew that if he let her go of the bubble, she'd go mental. Severus hated babysitting. He grimaced as he looked at the girl but was startled to see she was using mediation to calm down.

In a normal circumstance, he would never be this jumpy. But This situation was a unique one for him. With that said, he jumped when he heard Miss. Granger's mother's voice. "She learned about meditation from me." She paused for a moment while staring at her daughter in awe. "I sometimes get stressed from work, and well, I learned that mediation helps. But I didn't think she was paying any mind to it."

Severus just shrugged. "You can be surprised how much kids can pick up…." He was quiet for a moment while observing Miss. Granger is mediating to keep calm. "I have heard that some witches and wizards use meditation, but I didn't think that it helps." He was in awe, really; this was the first time that magic stumped him. Never in a million years had he thought of meditation, by the end of Miss. Granger's mediation, she was floating. A sense of calm overtook him. When she gradually floated back down to the floor, he walked over and knelt beside her. Without realizing he was smiling, he handed her the envelope that she deserved.

Miss. Granger squealed with delight as she ripped up the envelope and read its contents. Without warning, she held her hands towards Severus as if she were going to hug him. He grimaced. "I don't take lightly for affection." He muttered, then let go of her immediately.

"Oh, come now, I'll make a cuppa," her mum told him with a smile.

After explaining to her parents and Miss Granger what to do and get before the train right to Hogwarts, he left for the Leaky Cauldron for a nightcap. Mediation. That was a first. He thought as he drank the rest of his firewhiskey. He'd told them that he would escort them to Diagon Alley to get them the necessities they needed. As he gave the bartender the galleons, he wondered briefly what house she would be sorted.

It was the night of the sorting, and Severus was seated in between Hagrid and McGonnall. They both nodded towards each other. As the doors to the Great Hall opened, he immediately turned his head and saw the new students walking towards sorting hat.

One by one, the students were called, and Severus was barely paying attention. Finally, when the name sounded familiar to him, he glanced up with a raised eyebrow.

"Hermione Granger!"

As the hat was placed on her head, Severus watched intently.

"Gryffindor!"
