Chapter two

July 24th

The Dalton men hadn't slept all night as the thought of Kurt coming back was invading their thoughts. Every single one of them was exhausted from their sleepless night so they decided to grab a coffee and have breakfast together in their communal kitchen. Wes had decided to cook for them which was a shock but they wasn't complaining, he was amazing in the kitchen and everything he cooked was perfect.

"How did you sleep Blaine?"

"It was pretty none existent. I'll be okay after a bag. Thanks for asking David. Did you sleep by any chance?"

"Fuck no. My nerves are shot man knowing it's Tuesday today."

"Two more days and he's back. It doesn't seem real does it? This year has flown over." Blaine said with a sigh as he lifted his coffee mug to take a sip.

"Do you wanna swap rooms? You have bigger TV anyway man."

Blaine smiled widely at his friend. David was so kind and generous. He knew the reason he was doing it and it definitely wasn't for the bigger TV.

"You don't have to do that David."

"But I would if you needed."

"What do you think?"

"I think you're a four hundred year old vampire who's had his heartbroken. No one would blame you if you need some time to adjust." David said seriously as he placed a hand on his hand with a smile.

"At some point i'm going to have to interact with him. Mr Alexander is right. It might make things easier if he shared with me. The more time I have around him the more easier I think it's going to be. It'll take time but I think in the long run it'll be better. Thank you David, but I guess you'll have to put up with Wesley bursting your ear drums with opera for the next year."

"Damn. I was hoping you would switch." David said with a dramatic sigh and the whole room burst into laughter as they glanced to Wes who had his back to them. "What a fucking bust."

Blaine leaned over and squeezed his hand to thank him before leaning back in his chair. His friends was amazing, they would do anything to make this easier for him. He glanced to Nick who was curled next to his boyfriend as they chatted between themselves. He knew this would be extremely difficult for his best friend and he hoped he wouldn't do anything stupid in the next few days.

"What are you staring at Anderson?"

"I'm just worried about you."

"Are you worried I'm going to kill him?"

They all turned to Nick, including Wes who had just took the earphones out and caught the question and it took them all off guard.

"No, I'm worried you'll hurt him and in doing so you'll hurt yourself. You might not feel it now but I know in that heart of yours if you laid a finger on him you'll regret it for the rest of your eternal life."

"I guess we'll have to just wait and see won't we?"

"I miss my dad."

Kurt was sitting on the table staring at his medication that was laid out in front of him in a line that his brother had administered. He felt numb today and missing his dad more than ever today. He started to move them around, putting them in order of size before glancing up to his brother who was watching him carefully.

"Do I need to force them in you?"

"Not like you haven't did it before brother."

Finn let out a soft laugh and glanced down to his hands in embarrassment. He heard movement and a soft hand placed on his face and he looked back up.

"You did it for the right reasons. I was mess Finn, how else was I going to get better? It was a joke I'm sorry."

"I just hated seeing you so sick man. You wasn't eating and you was just staring at the kitchen floor for days. I had no choice, it was either that or you go the hospital and I wasn't going to let them take you from me and mom, I already lost a dad, I didn't want to loose a brother too."

"I love you so fucking much Finn." Kurt whispered as he leaned in to kiss his forehead gently. "I'll never forgot what you did for me, never. I don't think I would be here if it wasn't for you."

"I'm a hero." Finn said with a grin and Kurt laughed as he looked into his eyes shaking his head. "No? I'm not a hero?"

"No, you're my hero."

Finn grinned wider as he leaned in to hug him from over the table. "I love you so fucking much Kurt."

"Fuck you're gonna ma-

Kurt withdrew himself and started to take the pills quickly as the wetness hit his eyes and Finn smiled wider as he watched him do it. Once the last pill was swallowed he opened him mouth for him to check, something that became routine and out of habit for them to do.

"Thanks dude. Mom called while you was showering, she won't be back till after the weekend. Auntie took sick again. They said there's nothing they can do for her."

"I'm so sorry Finn. I wish I could help you I know how close you are to your auntie. Why don't you drive down and see her? I can come with you if you want? For support?"

"No man it's okay. She's got her and I've got you and I'm fine with that little bro. Now eat your breakfast, it's getting cold."

"It's fucking cereal Finn."

They both burst into laughter as Kurt threw a piece of toast at his head, butter side up and he gasped as he threw it straight back just messing him by an inch.

"Loser." Kurt whispeared with a smirk as he pulled his tongue out and a few seconds later Finn was wrestling with him in the kitchen floor as they both gasped for air.

"Damn I'm going to miss you man. Can't I transfer too?"

"I wish you could. Maybe they could make an exception for you too if you battered your long luscious eyelashes enough." Kurt said with a smirk and Finn laughed at his response.

"I'm not pretty enough."

"Oh really? Are you forgetting about the time I thought you was the best thing since sliced bread?"

"Come on man, you still think I'm the best thing that's since sliced bread. Accept the homo part that's incest." Finn said scrunching his face up in disgust and it only made him laugh harder.

"Who would of thought we would be loving brothers after all the shit we've been through." Kurt smiled as he relaxed his body so Finn did too, laying next to him. "Isn't it crazy? How much things have changed?"

"It's crazy dude but I'm glad dad kicked my ass into gear and made me realise how much I needed you."

"Yeah. I'm glad too. He was such a fucking good dad."

Finn turned his head towards Kurt and lifted his hand for him to take. "He's still a good dad."

Kurt let out a watery laugh and he nodded in agreement. "He's still a good dad."

"I can't move."

They all laughed at Jeff who was sprawled out on the kitchen floor, unaware it was exactly the same position Kurt was in at the very same moment.

"Damn Wessy, you overdid yourself this morning. That was so fucking good."

"Stop it you're making me blush." Wes said with a bored tone and Jeff rolled his eyes and flipped him off.

"Take the damn compliment."

"I don't need compliments, I know I'm fucking good."

"Why don't you cook more often man? That shit was dope." David said as he pointed to the empty plate in front of him.

"Do you want seconds?"

"Now that is a fucking stupid question. Pass the goods over Montgomery."

Wes laughed at his best friend as he started to dish him out another plate. "Anyone else wa-

"Yes." They all said in unison, Jeff included who was curled up in a ball holding his stomach.

"Where do you even put it Sterling? You're tiny."

"Not that tiny." Jeff said with a wink and he groaned as he threw a sausage over, hitting him right on the face.

"If you think I'm wasting that you've very wrong my friend." Jeff grinned before picking it up from the floor and he started to eat it watching their disgusted faces.

"Jesus baby that's di-

"I'm a vampire honey, I can't get sick." Jeff said with his mouth full as he continued to eat it unfazed. "Wanna share?"

"The only sausage I want in my mouth is y-

"To much information." Wes said clamping a hand over Nick's mouth as the whole table erupted in laughter again.

"Don't be such a prude Montgomery, it's not like you haven't had your dick sucked before." Blaine commented with a smirk and he started to glare at him.

"I'm not a fucking prude."

"Oh really? When was the last time you got laid?"

"When was the last time you got laid Anderson?" Wes fired back and they all opened their mouths in shock at the sensitive subject.

"Ouch." Jeff whispeared as he started to sit up.

"You're not helping blondie."

"Sorry Blainey."

"Why the fuck can he call you blondie but I can't?" Wes said in annoyance and Jeff smiled sweetly at him.

"Because he says it affectionately, you say it to fucking piss me off Welsey."

"How do you know that's why I say it?"

"Well don't you?"

"No." Wes said as he placed David a plate over.

"Then why do you call me it?" Jeff pushed as he crossed his leg over the other and leaned back in the chair.

"Because you get ten time times happier when you hear it."

Jeff face softened at his sweet response. "I'm sorry Wessy I just presu-

"Presumed that I said it to be an asshole?"

"I'm sorry okay? I just don't know how to take you sometimes." Jeff sighed and started to walk over to him but Wes held his hand up shaking his head. "Give me a love."

"I don't do hugs Ster-

"You're so squishy!" Jeff cooed as he squeezed his body with a huge smile on his face as the others tried to contain their laughter at his awkwardness.

"I'm squishy? I feel insulted. I don't work out six times a week to be called fucking squishy."

"Oooo come on lighten up! You know I mean well cutie." Jeff said excitedly as he placed a sloppy kiss to his cheek.

"Yeah yeah okay." Wes said pealing him off his body like wet clothes.

"Come on honey, you know he gets awkward." Nick said with a laugh as he started to pull his boyfriend around by his waist.

"But I wanna squeeze him!"

"You've fucking squeeze me enough." Wes mumbled as he sat down next to his best friend who was grinning at him.

"You loved that."

"I hated every moment."

Wes looked down to his plate and started to eat. They all made conversation with eachother but their eyes never left him as they studied his body language.

"You know you can talk to us right Wes?"

Wes placed his fork down into the table and lifted his to Blaine who was looking at him concerned. "There's nothing to talk about Anderson. I'm just not in the mood today."

"Hummel?"

"Why do you think that bitch has anything to do with my mood?"

They all glanced down to their plates and started to eat again in a comfortable silence. They kept glancing up every few seconds and Wes rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Can I eat my eggs in peace? Or do you want to eat them for me?"

"I'll eat them for you."

Wes turned to his best friend who was staring at his plate licking his lips and he couldn't help but laugh at him. "No, you can eat my e-

A phone started ringing cutting his sentence off completely they groaned at the same text tone for all their phones played through the kitchen.

"We really to change our ring-

Jeff stopped talking and they instantly knew it was Kurt texting him. They watched his eyes scan over the message before passing the phone around the table.

From Baby: I'm calling a family meeting Blondie

"Is he serious? He's not family he doesn't get to call it anymore." Nick said in disbelief as he read the text message with Blaine and then another one came through.

From Baby: Can you let the others know?

"He's got balls I give you that." Wes whispered as he read the message and passed it to his best friend. "I wonder why he's calling it. Hopefully it's not an apology or he'll be flying through a window."

"Shall I text him back for you?" David looked up to Jeff who have him a small nod and kept silent. "What shall I say?"

"Tell him exactly what Nicky said. He's not family anymore." Blaine replied back as he leaned his head into his best friend.

"Okay."

To Baby: They said you're not family anymore. I'm so sorry

"Is that okay?" David asked showing them and they all nodded as he placed the phone in the middle of the table and then they all waited. "I'm sorry but I felt bad doing that. It was harsh."

"Fucking hell David. Harsh was sleeping with Smythe. That's nothing to what will come to him."

"I know Nick bu-

The phone buzzed and David started to pick it up, cringing slighty at the reply back. They all noticed it and asked him to show them.

From Baby: I'm not really interested. Suit themselves. I'll see you Thursday blondie

"Wait I need to know why." Jeff said holding his hand out and David gently placed it in his hand before he started to text him back.

"He's heartless. What the fuck happened to him?" Nick asked as he peered over his boyfriends shoulder to read what he was texting back to him.

To Baby: Is everything okay baby? Why do you need a family meeting?

"I'm worried about him. This isn't him. His whole personality was kind and gentle, this person he's become is scaring me." Jeff murmured as he leaned his head into his boyfriend.

From Baby: I'm cut throat now. If anyone of them has something to say to me then I want it done as soon as I walk through them doors.

"Is he really considering being a room full of raging vampires? Is he fucking dumb?" Wes said with a laugh as he read the message again. "Does he want a death wish?"

"Do it. I have a lot to say to him. I need to get it all off my fucking chest." Nick said nodding to his boyfriend who was exhaling out his mouth to try and calm himself down. "Blaine?"

"I have nothing to say to him but by all means I'll be there to hear it."

To Baby: Can I meet you outside before hand? They've agreed baby.

"Promise me you won't him Nicky."

"I can't pro-

"Promise me." Jeff said as he placed a hand on his face to try and calm him down. "Promise me you won't hurt him no matter how much he torments you."

Nick sighed but he gave a nod. "I won't lay a finger on him, I promise babe."

"Thank you." Jeff whispeared before leaning forward to kiss his lips but it was interrupted by a message.

From Baby: Two o'clock.

To Baby: I can't wait to see you.

"I'm sorry, I'm so fucking excited."

They all let out a laugh as they watched his leg bounce up and down to the thought of seeing him again. They couldn't be angry at the blonde, his love for kurt was unconditional and even something as bad as infidelity wouldn't tear them apart.

"It's alright jeffery. You're allowed to be excited."

"How are so fine about this Blaine?" Jeff said in confusion as he placed his phone down on the table.

"I'm angry, I'm so angry I think I would throw him out the window myself at how casual he is about everything. I lied, I don't forgive him. I don't think I'll ever be able to trust him again but that doesn't mean I'm not excited for you seeing him. You're suffered so much and you deserve to be happy again."

"You're an angel sent from heaven."

Blaine laughed at the blondes compliment but everything single one of them knew how nervous he was but he was excellent at hiding it.

From Baby: I'm going to hug you fucking hard

Nick leaned over and read the message as soon as he seen his boyfriend smile that smile. It was Kurt's smile and his heart shattering for him. It was only going to go wrong, either way he couldn't risk his boyfriend getting hurt all over again.

"I keep having dreams about him. Flash backs even from that day. Does any else?"

"I do too Blaine." Jeff said with a sad smile. "They seem to be getting more and more frequent lately. Nicky had them too."

"You do Nicky?"

"Yeah. It's like I'm seeing little memories for the first time. It sucks ass."

The whole table nodded in agreement. It did suck. Every memory that they seen was a constant reminder that he wasn't here with them. They just wanted time to erase itself so they could start over with him but they knew their feelings would be to conflicting for that to ever happen.

"I had one yesterday about the barbecue we had in his home the weekend he started at Dalton. I could practically smell Burt's cooking." David said with a laugh as he started to help Wes clean up the empty plates as he knew them sitting their was making his best friend agitated. "I miss Burt. He was like a fatherly figure to all of us."

"We all do. I wonder what he's doing now? I hope business is good for him." Nick said sincerely in his voice. "Why do you think he hasn't been in touch since that first week since he left when he came to Dalton?"

"Maybe he's just respecting Kurt's wishes or maybe he's staying away so he doesn't hurt us. Either way he's a good man for doing so, I don't think I could handle seeing him either you know?" Blaine said as he passed over his plate to Wes for was holding his hand out impatiently. "Thanks man."

"I wonder why he's not dropping Hummel off at Dalton. Seems odd that Finn is taking him don't you think? The hate eachother with a passion." Wes replied back as he started to wash the dishes by hand.

"Maybe he's turned himself around?"

They all laughed at the blonde who was rolling his eyes at his own statement. They all knew he was never going to turn himself around for Kurt. Their relationship was extremely strained and there was no way they could even be civil with eachother.

"I doubt it. Burt is probably making him do it for a reason." David said as he handed the plates to Wes that was stacked on the side. "He always wished they could get on. That must have been so hard for him."

"I miss daddy bear. I wish he was coming instead."

"We all miss Burt honey." Nick said softly as he kissed his head. "Why don't I take you out today?"

"Really? Where? Oh my god shall we go the park? Ooooo I love the park!"

"You're really easily pleased aren't you?" Nick reached his hand up to move his blonde hair out of his eyes. "We could do anything but you want to go the park?"

"I love feeding the ducks." Jeff said sadly with a sigh. "Why did he have to be a fucking idiot?"

"I wish I knew honey. He is a fucking idiot."

They both glanced to Blaine who was rolling his eyes dramatically at the both of them for looking at him in concern over their conversation.

"Don't worry about it honestly. It's best we talk about him anyway, if he's going to be coming back at some point I need to get used to his name being mentioned." Blaine said with a smile as he squeezed his hand.

To baby: I wish you was coming today, I can't wait to squeeze you

"I promise we'll get through it man. It just worries me how much he's changed. It's like his heart has been ripped from his chest you know?"

"I know David. He seems so odd." Blaine replied back as he picked up his coffee again. "It's most likely a front. I'm not defending him or anything when I say this but that takes guts to walk through that door after what happened."

"Even I agree with that." Wes said as he sat in front of Blaine after cleaning up. "The bitch is down right savage if he walks through them doors unfazed."

From baby: Are you with Montgomery?

To Baby: Yeah he's just made breakfast. Is everything okay?

"He's asking for you." Jeff said with a frown as he turned the phone to Wes who's eyes went wide.

"Why the fuck is he asking for me?"

"I don't know sweet-

From baby: Has Dalton burnt to the ground yet?

"Oh he drives me nuts." Wes said has his leg bounced in anger and his fist clenched on the table as the others tried to contain their laughter. "I fucking hate him."

To baby: it was amazing. He's a great cook baby

From baby: I wouldn't know, I wasn't good enough to experience your majesties skills in the kitchen.

"I fucking hate him." Wes repeated after he read the text and as he glanced to the ceiling as his leg bounced harder so David placed a hand on his thigh to relax him.

"Relax man you know he's only doing it to get on your nerves."

"It's working." Wes said with a laugh as he glanced to the phone as he heard it ping again.

From baby: Is he doing okay?

Jeff face softened and he started to smile wider at the phone and they all seen it. He turned the phone around to Wes slowly and watched his leg stop bouncing in anger as he read it over and over again.

"I don't understand. Now all of a sudden he cares for my well being?"

"What do I say Wes?" Jeff asked softly as he withdrew the phone.

"Tell him the truth."

To baby: he's angry at you for hurting us. He doesn't understand why you're so concerned over his well being after all this time

"He's probably just trying to mess with our heads." Nick commented after a while. "Or trying to calm the rain before the storm. He does have to live with us. It's probably his way of worming himself back into our lives."

"Most likely Nick. He's just so frustrating." Wes said as he picked up his own coffee and looking toward Blaine. "Doesn't it bother you he's not asking how you are?"

"He doesn't care how I am Wes and he proved that a year ago."

From baby: I don't care to be honest blondie i was just trying to make it easier for when I get back

"Jesus." Jeff whispered as he showed them all the message and they all rolled their eyes. "What happened to him?"

"I don't really care either. I hope his time here at Dalton is more than difficult for him." Nick placed an arm around his boyfriends shoulders as they read the next message.

From baby: Do they all hate me?

To baby: it's just hard for them baby. You've been gone for so long and after what happened it's hard for them to forgive you.

From baby: I don't want their forgiveness. I just want to know if I should arrange my funeral plans now before Thursday

"He's a sick fuck." Nick said before he started to read the message out to his shocked family. "Right?"

To baby: don't say that please it scares me

"Maybe you should tell him yes."

"Don't say shit like that Wesley." Jeff spat out as he looked at him in disgust. "It's hard enough you want him dead but the thought of you actually doing it turns my stomach."

"Sorry." Wes mumbled as he glanced away back to his mug. "He just makes me say things that I never thought I was capable of saying you know?"

"I know but please don't say that again. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to him."

"Look no one is going to murder Hummel alright? No matter how much we want too." Wes said after a few minutes of silence between them all as they thought about the blondes words.

"Come on. We have lessons soon. Let's get ready." Blaine said as he looked at the clock and they all nodded without another word said to each other.

"I'm one heartless bitch." Kurt whispered as he glanced to the messages he has just sent to his best friend.

He sighed as he placed his phone on his nightstand before making his way through his room to see his brother. He could hear Finn shouting and he rolled his eyes as he opened the door to find his him sitting crossed legged, playing video games with some of his friends he had met online.

"Hold on my bro has just walked in." Finn removed the headset that was around his ears and smiled. "Everything good man?"

"Yeah I'm good. I'm going to go for a drive. Do you need anything?"

"Do you mind picking me up so-

"Yeah I'll pick you up some Gatorade." Kurt said with a smirk as his brother started to laugh. "I'll lock the door okay?"

"Alright man be safe." Finn said as he placed the headset back on his ears. "Do you need me to come with you?"

"No of course not. I'll be fine I promise."

"Alright dude call me."

Kurt nodded with a smile and slowly shut the door and he heard Finn start to shout again and he couldn't help but laugh as he made his way downstairs. He didn't go back for his phone, he needed some space and his brothers constant worry was something he didn't need at the moment no matter how grateful he was for it. He opened the front door to the house, shutting it gently behind him as he started to lock it. He pressed his head against the wood of the door and took a deep breath before making his way over to his car. He didn't need anything from the store but he just needed out of the house for an hour or two.

"Did I lock the door?"

Kurt sighed and quickly made his way back cursing to himself for his obsessive behaviour. He checked the door, rolling his eyes because it was indeed locked and he made his way back to the car, jumping inside and shutting it over on himself.

He turned the radio on and started the engine and he carefully pulled out his driveway, taking one look at the house before making his way to the store. He smiled at the song that was playing, he had turned to the opera station but decided to keep it on to see if it could sooth his mind and it started too. It reminded him of Wes and he sighed as he glanced out of his window at the passing houses. He even missed him but it didn't surprise him, there was always something about the argumentative asshole he just couldn't shake.

"Why do I miss you?" Kurt whispeared to himself as he leaned over to turn the radio off in frustration.

He drove the rest of the way in silence and prayed he didn't bump in to anyone he knew from Dalton. He had kept pretty low key for the year and he hardly ever ventured out on his on his own unless he needed too. It was very unlikely he would, it was school hours and he knew for a fact they would be starting lessons in the next hour or so. Vampires who go to school that was definitely something he couldn't grasp. Why torture yourself everyday? They had everything they could ever want but they chose to attend that school which baffled him completely.

He missed them so much. He could barely think about anything else most days apart from missing them. It killed him, it killed him everyday knowing that he wasn't a part of their lives anymore and it was only going to get worse once he finally seen them for the first time after a year. He hoped it would go smoothly but with the way they was all feeling at the moment he knew as soon as he walked though them doors it was going to be a shit show.

"Have I ever told you how fucking hot you are in that uniform?"

"You carry on like that we won't be going fucking anywhere." Jeff said with a moan as he trailed a finger over his boyfriend tie.

"That's the plan." Nick whispered before pressing his lips again the base of his neck making his boyfriend moan slighty as he felt his tongue brush against his skin. "Do you want to skip today?"

"Isn't that a stupid question?"

"Can I take your clothes off blondie?"

Jeff giggled with a nod and titled his head further as his boyfriend slid the blazer from his shoulders, making it fall on the floor carelessly. He started with his buttons on his shirt as he continued to pleasure his neck with soft kisses.

"I love that you always ask but it's really not necessary sweetie."

"I just don't want to push you." Nick whispered into his skin as he slid the shirt from his shoulders making it fall on top of his blazer. "I can't wait to feel you."

"Jesus." Jeff breathed out as he felt his hand tugging at his belt impatiently. "I can't wait to feel you too."

"Get on your knee-

The door burst open and they both groaned as the three of them was laughing like teenagers. Nick glared at them as he started to dress his boyfriend who was nearly crying at the words from his mouth.

"Can't you see we are busy?"

"Oh we heard you was busy." Blaine said with a smirk. "There's no skipping today, we have an English exam."

"Please go away." Jeff laugh out as started to undressed himself again. "I don't care about a stupid English exam. I just want my boyfriend to fucking rail the sh-

Nick started to push the three of them out but they fought back as they continued to laugh at the frustration in his face.

"This exam is very important. Without it we wont be able to graduate." Wes said seriously as he tried not to crack a smile. "How will we ever get to college and get the degrees we need if you two are just going to fool around for the rest of the year?"

"I want to punch you."

"Bring it blondie I'm ready for a fight." Wes said holding his hands up in a fighting position and it only took a second before the two of them was play fighting around the room.

"Why are you doing this? Please can you just leave us be? I want some quality time with my man."

"You have all the time in the world to get it on with your man!" David said with a wink as he started to laugh at his best friend who had pinned the blonde to the floor easily. "Don't let Mr Foster down, he'll skin you alive if you both are late again."

"Mr Foster can go and suck my dick." Nick said as he screamed out in laughter as he watched his boyfriend struggle to get out of the older vampires hold. "I'm not interest-

Jeff burst into laughter as he started to get tickled by the four hundred year old vampire and they was all shocked by his sudden affection for the younger vampire. Nick felt something get placed into his hand by David and he slowly started to open the note.

He's struggling today. I think that text from baguette has really affected him.

Nick glanced up from the note to the pair of them and noticed that he needed his boyfriend, he needed some kind of connection to Kurt and he couldn't help but smile. It was very rare he was ever this way and they treasured it.

"I love you so much."

Wes groaned and lifted his hands away, making the blonde punch a his fist in the air in triumph nearly getting him in the process and before he could brace himself Jeff kissed the corner of his mouth.

"Say it back."

"You're disgusting." Wes grimaced as he wiped his mouth but they all seen the smile and they knew he loved the affection he was getting from him this morning. "Don't ever do that agai-

Jeff shot forward and kissed him again and before he knew it he was plastering kissed all over his face. He started to laugh but let him and they watched his body relax.

"Say it back."

"No."

Jeff laughed into a kiss and he moved his head around to kiss the right side of his face. He felt his hand grip onto his arm and his eyes started to water but he continued to kiss him sweetly.

"Are you okay?"

"No."

Jeff wrapped his arms around his shoulders as his kissed got slower and more affectionate and with every kiss he became more relaxed and his stiff composure started to disappear.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"I fucking hate him. I hate everything about him and that stupid fucking face makes me want to bash his skull in. Knowing he's coming bac-

"Fuck."

"It's alright baby, you can talk to me." Jeff whispered sweetly into his ear and the others started to sit on the bed as they watched his face. "I promise you if you get it off your chest you'll feel so much more better."

"He's acting so casual. No one can go through what he went through and parade in here like it never happened. It sits so uneasy with me. It makes me uncomfortable knowing he's coming back like a total different person. He hasn't once asked how you're doing Anderson and that bothers me." Wes said truthfully and Blaine nodded with a sigh.

"It bothers me too. I don't know how I'm going to feel either when he walks through them doors."

"Do you still love him?" Wes asked and Blaine let out a laugh as he glanced to his hands.

"I don't think I would have all this pent up anger if I didn't love him. It sickens me that I can't forget but I can't help the way I feel about him."

"If there was an opportunity to be with him again, would you?"

"I don't think I could ever trust him again. I know people can change but with them both attending Dalton it's very unlikely. If I could forget and move on from what he did of course I would want him back. I just don't know if I could ever forget what I seen that day."

"I don't think any of us could forget." Nick placed a hand onto his thigh to comfort him. "Come on, we better get going before Mr Foster is out for blood."

They could see how upset Blaine was getting so Nick changed the subject quickly. Even after a year he was still as heard broken as the day it happened. They all stood and Jeff quickly fixed himself before they left their room. They chatted on their way to their classes trying to keep the normality but they all couldn't stop thinking about Kurt and his return. They heard Jeff's phone buzzing in his blazer pocket and they watched him take it out and unlock his phone.

"Is it him?"

"Yeah." Jeff said to the curly haired vampire as they turned the corner to climb down the spiral staircase.

From Baby: I'm sorry. Are you on your way to English?

"It's crazy how he still knows are lesson schedule." Jeff said as they got to the staircase and he started to text his best friend back.

"He knew all of our schedules of the back of his hand. I am surprised he still remembers though." Blaine said glancing to the message as they walked down the stairs together.

To Baby: Yeah I'm just on the way now with the guys. Have you got your lesson schedule yet?

"I wonder if he's going to be in the same classes as last year." David said peering over his shoulder. "Seems likely right?"

From Baby: Yeah blondie I got it yesterday. It's totally different than last year. I'm in not one of your classes. They're starting me from bottom up to see the decline in my education

"Jesus he's with the deaf and dumb." Wes whispeared with a laugh. "He's going to hate that."

"Stop it Wesley." Jeff warned shaking his head but he couldn't help but laugh too because he knew he best friend would be seething about that.

To baby: I'm sorry baby I know how much you're gonna hate that. I'm going to miss you so much

"He's going to be fuming while they assess him. Most of them students can't even spell their second name and the only reason they're at Dalton is because they paid their way in." Nick said through a laugh as they got to the bottom of the stairs. "I would pay money to see his face in one of them classes."

From baby: I'll miss you too. On the bright side, I can spell my second name so that might push me up a class

Jeff burst into laughter as he passed the phone to his boyfriend who laughed too at the coincidence. He started to type and Jeff groaned as he tried to take it from his hands but he didn't let him.

To baby: The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and?

From baby: Stupidly Nicky.

"How the fuck did he know it was me?" Nick said passing the phone back to his boyfriend as they approached their classes as the hundred of students passed them in a hurry.

"You said it his first week after his first science lesson and he laughed for hours. Don't you remember?" Blaine asked his best friend as they leaned against the wall as they had another five minutes before they was due in the classroom.

"His memory is like a sponge. I'm surprised his memory went to shit that one time he forgot he had a boyfriend."

"That's not funny." Wes said seriously but he turned around so they couldn't see him breaking a laugh.

"It was pretty funny." Blaine said rolling his eyes at his best friend as he walked into the classroom.

"Come on Anderson it was funny!" Nick said with a laugh as he walked into the empty classroom after him. "I'm sorry Blaine I just can't help myself okay? I cover my feelings with humour you know that."

"Stop fucking laughing man." David mumbled as he punched Wes in the arm hard as he watched his eyes water as he tried to keep it in. "It's not one bit fu-

Wes broke and burst into laughter and Blaine quickly threw a book from one of the shelves, hitting him in the square in the face and his laughter stopped as he felt the blood drip from his nose.

"You fucking bastard." Wes said placing a hand on his nose and then it was Blaine's turn to burst into laughter with everyone. "We start lessons in five minutes and you're already breaking my nose you dick."

"Its not funny is it?" Blaine said with a smirk as he sat down on his normal seat. "To laugh at someone's hurt."

"I'll get you back for that asshole." Wes sat down in his seat shaking his head as he watched the students walk in and glanced at his nose in confusion.

"Hey dude, I think your nose is broken."

"Oh is it? I didn't even notice." Wes said bluntly to the student who was sitting down next to him. "Thanks for letting me know champ."

"Do you have to be such a uptight prick Montgomery? I was just seeing if you was okay." The student said shaking his head and turning away from him.

Wes leaned over and tapped the boys shoulder. "I'm sorry Garcia, I'm having a bad day. I didn't mean to take it out on you."

"It's cool man. You just don't have to be defensive all the time. I'm not your enemy."

Wes sat back in his chair and turned his head to the front of his class. David tapped his shoulder but he didn't move so he tapped him harder making his sigh.

"What's the matter David?"

"You know I love you and shit man?"

Wes went to open his mouth to reply back but Mr Foster opened the door, slamming it over behind him making most of the students flitch. He went to open his mouth again but he turned his head back around before he was singled out but he was singled out anyway.

"Pull out your text books and and turn to page forty three and what on god's earth has happened to your face Mr Montgomery?"

"I fucking hate shopping." Kurt mumbled as he couldn't remember which flavour Gatorade his brother liked so he sighed and threw them all in the shopping cart.

He started to walk through the aisles, he didn't know what he was getting he was just throwing stuff in that would keep Finn good for a few weeks before he left for Dalton in two days. His eye could red vines and he instantly wanted to bury himself in the ground at his ex boyfriend favourite candy and he quickly moved and looked away. He couldn't even go shopping without a constant reminder of what he had did.

"Excuse me Sir?"

Kurt turned around and see a young boy standing with a huge smile and he started to smile too at his toothy grin. "Is everything okay? Have you lost your parents?"

"No but I think you lost your wallet." The little boy said with a giggle holding it out and Kurt started to laugh as he took if from his tiny hands.

"Thank you so much! You're my hero!"

The little boy giggled before running off to his parents who was standing waiting for him at the end of the aisle and he waved to thank them and he was surprised they did it back. It was very rare it happened but he treasured every time it did and for that few seconds his faith in humanity was restored. He reached for his phone and then cursed to himself for being stupid and leaving it in the house.

"Idiot."

"You know it's bad for you to talk to yourself."

Kurt turned his head to a boy around his age that was shopping too and he couldn't help but laugh. "I'm sorry, it's out of habit."

"The hair is killer by the way." The boy said with a grin as he looked him up and down. "You're killer by the way."

"Has anyone told you it's dangerous to talk to strangers?" Kurt said with a smirk as he placed something else in his cart without even looking and the boy let out a laugh with a nod.

"Why? Are you dangerous? Should I be scared?"

"Maybe."

"What's your name?"

"What's yours?"

"You're very feisty."

"As I'm told." Kurt said with a smile as he looked over the boy too who was patiently waiting for his answer. "I'm Kurt."

"It's nice to meet you Kurt. I'm Chandler." He said with a smile holding his hand out and Kurt smiled as he shook it.

Kurt noticed he was very attractive and the round circular glasses was very cute. His style was nice too, dressing in a black button down and a blazer thrown on top. It was a very put together look but seemed it didn't make any effort at all that morning. He was definitely his type but he seemed very flamboyant and he knew their personalities would clash.

"Can I have your number?"

"You're very forward Chandler. Has anyone told you that before?"

"You don't get anything in life if you don't ask Kurt." Chandler said with a charming smile and for a moment he had forget about Sebastian and Blaine until he was brought back to reality.

"I'm so sorry but I have a boyfriend. I'm very flattered though." Kurt said sweetly and he cursed in his head for the blush that was forming on his face.

"Are you just saying that so you don't have to say no?"

"No I promise you I have a boyfriend. I've been with him for a year now. Thank you though, I really needed that."

"Can I have your number anyway? You're the first gay man I've seen in Ohio since I've moved. It would be nice to have someone to talk to too."

"Yeah of course but I do-

"I don't have my phone." Kurt said with a laugh and Chandler let out a laugh too at the coincidence. "How about you give me your number and I text you when I get home?"

"Perfect." Chandler said as he reached out for his hand and started to scribble his number down from a pen his had just taken out his bag. "Don't let me down Kurt."

"I won't I promise. If it means anything, if it was different circumstances." Kurt said with a smile as he watched him place the pen in his bag.

"Trust me the feeling is mutual. Have a lovely day Kurt."

"You too Chandler."

They gave eachother one last smile before they parted ways and Kurt was already feeling so much better already. He glanced down to the number and started to read it a few times just incase by any chance it rubbed out and he started to make his way to the till as the numbers ran through his head.

One act of kindness

Kurt smiled wider as he turned his head to see Chandler already smiling at him and he let out a laugh as he started to place his items as he did the same. He mouthed stop looking at me and he seen him mouth beautiful and for the first time in a year he did feel beautiful and wanted.

"Would you like a bag Sir?"

"Yes please. Thank you ma'am."

"Ugh I hate school." Jeff said with a pretend cry as he dragged his feet against the floor and his boyfriend laughed as he rolled his eyes.

"We've did one lesson babe. One hour and you already want to give up? You love going to lessons." Nick said as he reached for his hand.

"I did love going to lessons." Jeff mumbled to himself as they walked through the halls to their next lesson and they could see him slowing slipping back into his depressive state.

"Why don't you text your bestie?"

"I did. He hasn't texted me back."

Nick sighed at his boyfriends lack of interested for anything other than Kurt and he stopped, bringing his two hands to cup his face. "Two days okay? It's only two days."

"Why are being so supportive?"

"Because I support you Jeffrey and if it means coming to terms with the fact that he's going to back in our lives then I can live with it. He makes you happy and that makes me happy." Nick said with a grin before he leaned in and pressed his lips to his forehead.

"You're the best boyfriend in the world. Do you know that?"

"Of course I do. Come on let's get the rest of the day out the way and I'll take your to feed the ducks."

"This day just gets better and better." Jeff whispeared before he closed the gap quickly, pressing his lips now to his mouth.

"Come on love birds!" David shouted from end of the hall and they both groaned.

"Can't we have a minute to ourselves?" Nick said shaking his head and Jeff giggled as they kissed each other one last time and they walking hand and hand towards the others who was waiting for them a few doors down.

"Nope you can not." Wes said pointing to the next classroom and gesturing them in to the room.

"How's your nose Montgomery."

"Fuck off Duval."

Nick grinned as he pulled his boyfriend into the room, followed by David. He turned to Blaine who was leaning against the wall talking to another student and he smiled.

~ Are you smiling at me Montgomery? ~

~ Yes ~

Blaine moved his eyesight away from the student for a second and he smiled back at his friend. He mouthed I'm sorry and Wes nodded with a laugh but it didn't really matter anymore, the break had healed and the only thing left from the incident was bruising across his his nose and under his eyes.

"Shall we go in?" Blaine asked as he started to approach his friend and he leaned on the wall mimicking his stance.

"Do you think I'm a uptight prick?"

"Are you still thinking about that? Things like that normally go over your head."

"Hummel used to call me it all the time but it never felt like he meant it." Wes said seriously as he pocketed his phone. "I guess when someone else calls me it I actually start to believe it."

"You're not an uptight prick Wes. You've just got a lot of things on your mind at the moment." Blaine smiled at his friend as they started to make their way to the classroom door. "It's how you deal with your feelings, it's how you survive."

"What feelings Anderson? I'm heartless remember?" Wes said as mouth turned into a smirk as he opened the door walking in first as his friend walked in behind him laughing at his comment.

"I don't think you're heartless. I think you need the right person to bring it out that's all." Blaine whispered in his ear before they parted ways to sit in their allocated seats.

He felt someone tapping his shoulder and he turned to another student who was looking at him with concern.

"You good Montgomery?"

"Yeah I'm good Thomas, thank you for asking." Wes said polity and they all grinned his change of heart since the earlier student who asked him.

"I didn't peg you for the fighting type."

"Anderson threw a book at me." Wes said with a smirk and the student turned to Blaine who was trying not to laugh.

"You got him good Anderson. Lovers quarrel?"

"He wishes." Blaine said a slow wink to his friend who was rolling his eyes as he turned away from him. "He would be so lucky."

"I don't date people who are shorter than me. Makes me feel off balance." Wes shot back as his eyes remained on the teachers desk and he heard Blaine's laughter inside his head and he cracked a smile.

"I don't date uptight pricks either, makes me feel off balance." Blaine whispered and Wes turned his head to the vampire who has his head buried in the book as tears ran down his eyes.

"You bas-

"Mr Montgomery, face forward please."

He turned his head back around as he tried to contain his own laughter and he nodded to the teacher and apologised. He started to tap against his thigh and they all stopped what they was doing as all their eyes traveled to his finger. He smirked and flipped them off slowly, hearing their laughs in their heads made him feel better already.

"Now, do you have your assignments ready?"

The drive home was quick and he didn't make any detours this time. Finn was already waiting outside and by the looks on his face his brother was pissed.

"Why the fuck didn't you take your phone? Do you know how worried I've been man?"

"I'm a grown ass adult. I don't need to take my phone everywhere wit-

"Yes you do." Finn said angrily as he cut him off and brought him in for a hug. "I was worried."

"I'm sorry Finn. I just needed some alone time. Do you forgive me?" Kurt pulled back to look at his face but his arms was still around him. "I got you all your favourites?"

"You're forgiven. Lemme see." His brother said excitedly taking the keys from his hands and running to the trunk. "Did you get my Gatorade dude?"

"Yeah but I forgot what flavour so I just got them all." Kurt laughed out at his eyes going wide as he looked through the bags.

"Man you got so much stuff. Why?" Finn questioned as he started to get the bags out the car for him.

"I go to Dalton in two days so I thought I would make it easier for you. I know you hate shopping on your own."

"I could just kiss you dude."

Kurt tapped his cheek and his brother leaned forward and kissed him gently before wrestling the bags out off his hands.

"Go inside I've got it."

"No Hudson, I've go-

"Inside Hummel." Finn demanded and Kurt sighed with a nod and started to make his way towards the house without another word said because he knew his brother would argue.

"Don't forget to lock my car!"

"I always do dude!"

Kurt smiled as he made his way upstairs to go and grab his phone. He felt guilty for leaving his phone and not just because Finn was worried but his best friend was worried too.

From Blondie: Is everything okay?

From Blondie: Have I did something wrong?

From blondie: I sound like an obsessive boyfriend don't i? I'm sorry

From Blondie: I don't really care text me back right now baby

He smiled with a laugh as his fingers hovered over the keyboard and he shook his head before pressing call and placing it to his ear. He waited and waited until it rang out but the glanced to the clock.

"He's in classes."

He placed the phone back on his nightstand and went to walk out the room but he heard ringing and he quickly turned back and laughed as his name popped up. He answered it and as soon as he heard his voice his eyes instantly watered.

"Baby? Is everything okay? I've been so worried about you. I hate when you don't text back I get all agitated."

"I love you."

Their was silence and he knew his best friend was crying and he tried so hard to hold back the tears, squeezing his eyes shut and clenching his first.

"I love you. I fucking love you too."

Kurt laughed at his breathlessness and he started to lay down, wanting to be more comfortable hearing his voice. "I forgot you was in class. Do you want me to call you la-

"Fuck no stay on the phone baby. Why didn't you answer?"

"I went shopping and left my phone in the house. I'm sorry for making you worried."

"I've spent a year worrying, another hour wasn't going to kill me."

"Fuck I didn't mean that bab-

"That come out worse than I thought in my he-

"I didn't mean it I'm so sor-

"It's okay blondie calm down okay? It's okay honestly." Kurt said softly as his hands tapped gently against his thigh. "I can't wait to see you. You're definitely coming to meet me right?"

"Hell fucking yes bitch I'm going to have a banner made and everything."

"Please don't."

"Why not? It's going to be fucking huge! That reads welcome home bestie! It's going to be all multicoloured because fags for life right? And then I'm gonna squeeze you so fucking hard that your eyes might pop out!"

"I've fucking missed you." Kurt whispeared as his voice broke slighty and he heard his best friend finally beak too.

"Oh god I've missed you much. Can you come earlier? Please? Can you come tomorrow?"

"I can't blondie as much as I would love to see that gorgeous fucking face I have so much to do. I haven't even finished packing yet and I've got to go and get measured for my unifo-

He heard his best friend moan loudly and he burst into laughter as he turned his head to the photo of his and Jeffery that was placed on the other side of his nightstand.

"That fucking uniform. I think I'm going to rip it off you as soon as my eyes see you in that shit."

"Feeling mutual baby."

"Oooooo shit you called me baby. How weird is that?"

"Yeah that sounded strange I take it back blondie."

"Thank god baby."

Their was silence for a few seconds as Kurt face twisted in devastated as the tears fell from his eyes. He wanted so badly to tell him why he did it. He wanted everything to go back to normal but he knew it would never happen as long as Sebastian was alive.

"I'm going to let you go now okay?"

"Please don't fucking leave me."

"You have clas-

"I don't care. I've waited a year to hear your voice. Classes can go to fuck."

"Okay." Kurt whispered as placed the phone on speaker. "I'm so sorry I wasn't there for your birthday. I'm a shitty friend."

"Oh please we can celebrate when you get back. I'm not getting any older baby right?"

"Didn't mean I didn't spoil you."

"Bitch what did you get me?"

Kurt laughed as he glanced to his wardrobe that had been presents all neatly gift wrapped for two whole months. "It's a surprise blondie, I know how much you love surprises."

"I blew the candles out and the only thing I wished for was you to come back. I guess them dollar candles really do work."

"Goodby-

"Goodbye blondie."

Kurt ended the call and let out a sob at his sweet words. He always knew how to make him a mess but he didn't care, he knew his best friend would be exactly the same. He glanced to the phone for a second and picked it back up dialling a number.

"Hello Kurt. What a pleasant surprise. How are you?"

"I'm good thank you Mr Alexander. I was wondering if it was okay if I come in the morning instead after I get measured for my uniform?"

"Of course you can that's great! What changed you mind?"

"Blondie."

"He's a tear jerker alright. I'll have everything ready. I can't wait to welcome you back to Dalton Accademy."

Jeff walked back into the classroom, thanking the teacher for letting him use the restroom and he sat down with a grin. His leg started to bounce as he listened to his best friend ask to come home tomorrow instead and he was trying to contain his excitement so much because he didn't want to hurt Blaine's feelings. He glanced over to him and smiled as he noticed he as already looking his way.

~ I'm sorry gorgeous, I just couldn't help myself. I'm just so excited~

~ it's alright beautiful. I'm glad you're happy ~

~ Why are you so understanding? ~

~ Because I love you ~

Jeff glanced to his friend and mouthed it back with a watery smile and he didn't see anything but happiness and he didn't know he got such an amazing friend. The others was happy too for him because it was the first time in a year he had his spark back but that didn't mean that they didn't have their own conflicting feelings rushing around in their heads. They was brought out of their thoughts when the school bell indicated it was time for their lunch break and they started to laugh as they heard the blondes excited squeal.

"My baby is coming back."
