Welcome back to another chapter, everybody. Before I start, I would like to say thank you to all who followed and favorited this story: Maximum Rhapsody, kamikage86, TheLightYagami, Fan1one, Dakrakboy, LuxCranel000, panjangya, NeroShiroAngka, PkmntrainerCam, Pranesh, and suryamgangwal63. I'm grateful that you like the story and hope you continue to love it some more.
Yet another word of gratitude goes to suryamgangwal63 for the review in Chapter 2. Today starts the end of the Kakashi arc, and next week on to the "Daybreak" arc. (I am pretty sick as I am writing this. So apologies for the sudden change of plans). Rest assured that the following chapters should have a more consistent schedule.
Naruto: Does it have to be like in FT canon?
Hinata: I hope not. I don't want to be in that maid outfit.
No, which is why I put it in air quotes. This means that the Daybreak will be called that in name only. I plan on putting my own…more drastic changes to it.
Also, the Koharu I am using in this fic will be the young Koharu Utatane shown when she was in Team Tobirama. The young Koharu is simply because I had trouble finding someone to replace Ultear. Read more of the story to find out what I have planned with her.
To Matt: I already have Konan as Lisanna as mentioned in the end of the previous chapter. Also, Sasuke and Konan don't really have any chemistry in the canon in my opinion. Although, I can understand why you would be thinking that.
To suryamgangwal63: Yes, Sakura is not going to be Juvia in the story. Apologies for the disappointment.
Sasori: Short introduction as it should be.
I am tempted to confiscate your Hiruko puppet, I swear to Six Paths.
Deidara: Do it. I'm tired of having him hide in that thing, hm.
Sasori: You don't even appear in the story yet. You're a bigger idiot than I thought.
Deidara: Really, and when do you get to show off more than one attack?
Both of you, knock it off, or I'm changing your magics!
Sasori and Deidara (reluctantly): Yes, author.
Thank you. I better not have you two arguing again. It's bad enough dealing with Sasuke's griping.
Sasuke: Play the streaker yourself and you can feel my pain.
For the last time, you two share the same deuteragonist role! And I don't want to hear revenge talk from you! I had to deal with it throughout all of Shippuden!
Naruto, Suigetsu, and Ino: (laugh hysterically)
Sasuke (grumbles in Muttley): Just get on with it.
Thank you. Konohamaru, since this is partly your arc, your job is simple.
Konohamaru: Okay. The author doesn't own Fairy Tail or Naruto.
Kakashi (shows up out of nowhere, shocking everyone else. That includes Deidara): The honors go to Hiro Mashima and Masashi Kishimoto.
Wait, how did you get there?
Kakashi: Well, I am appearing in this chapter, so I thought I help out my student's apprentice.
Fair enough. And now we begin.
Chapter 3: Myoboku Melee
In the dark and heavily smelly caves of Mount Myoboku, a man with spiky white hair, and a dust mask covering his lower face is being held in a cage and tied up to a chair, which is being secured by a group of silhouettes. This man is Kakashi Hatake, father of Konohamaru Hatake and loyal mage of the Fox Tail guild.
The man had been kidnapped because he was recently charged with protecting the mountain village from the Vulcans, a vicious and powerful group of monkeys led by Chieftain Enma. Although he fended some of them off, he fell unconscious and as a result was taken to the caves.
Kakashi tried his best to release the chains, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough for him.
"Don't bother breaking free." Said a taunting voice, "You've already been a hindrance to me."
The voice walked to Kakashi's cell to reveal Mizuki, aka the Hyena, aka the impostor Yellow Flash. He had a smirk on his face, but the shuriken was missing.
"What makes you so sure of it?" Kakashi gritted his teeth behind his mask. "The only thing I've done is protect the Myoboku Village. I don't see what me being here has to do with what you want."
"Well, my recent desires have been showing himself to me." He said as he leaned onto the bars. "First I thought I could use you to lure in some more of your friends. After all, they cost me my place in the Thunder Cloud guild, so an eye for an eye, right?"
"You brought that on yourself, Hyena." Kakashi yelled back. "You knew the risks the minute you used that charm magic to get what you wanted."
"Well, it was an old-fashioned guild like yours." The Hyena defended himself. "Mostly in terms of rules. But nope, they threw me out just to save its sorry ass.
"But enough of that," he calmed down, "Let me ask you something; what magic do the Vulcans have?"
"You mean the Take-Over magic?" the masked mage guessed. He widened his eyes afterwards, "What do you plan to do with that power?"
"Good for you, you answered my question." Mizuki clapped sarcastically. "I managed to gain a sample of DNA from those primates you destroyed. After I borrowed two people from that sad sack of a town, I decided to see if the Vulcans will pass on the powers after they die."
"Don't even bother finishing," dismissed Kakashi, "You're going to give me some of that magic as well. So that I can attack the guild I love, isn't that it."
Now Mizuki laughed sadistically. "Bingo! Those jackoffs won't even know what hit them. Imagine a Vulcan destroying their entire guild, only for it to be one of their very own family! I have enough popcorn to watch the show for days, maybe even weeks!"
"It will never work," he told him. "They'll find you before you even inject it in me."
"Easy for you to say," he then had an idea. "Say, I remember running into that thunder man earlier today. How about you help me repay him for having me flat on my ass for the Magic Council?" He shrugged his shoulders before Kakashi could answer.
"Doesn't matter though. You won't have a chance to refuse the offer." He left the cell, leaving the prisoner to pray for his friends to save him.
Meanwhile, on the way to Mount Myoboku was members of the titular guild. Naruto, Kurama, and Hinata managed to reserve a carriage for their journey, along with the recently punished Tsume, Kisame, and Suigetsu, the latter of which was wearing a dolphin costume. Two of them were grumbling at their predicament, while the lightning jinchuriki just laid there, trying in vain to prevent from vomiting all over the carriage.
"Can't believe I have to wear this thing." Suigetsu groaned in his costume while Tsume was laughing herself to death.
"You should have thought of that before you went into Love Shack mode." She said between fits of laughter. "Damn, I wish I brought a camera with me."
"Look on the bright side," teased Kisame, "you'll be getting dates sooner than you think."
"Well, I'm happy Mu didn't see me in this thing." Suigetsu sighed in relief. "No wonder he hates being called a mummy so much."
"He brings it on himself more than he would like to admit." Kurama added in. "I know why you three are even here in the first place, but I was hoping to see what everyone else is capable of."
"They were busy training for their first missions." Hinata answered him. "And didn't you already see Shikamaru, Sasori, and Kushina in action?"
"True, but only for a few seconds."
"Well, we're still training from that book I bought. So good luck bothering them about it."
"No need to tell me twice."
Hinata giggled as the fox rolled his eyes. While he left to take care of Naruto, she began to think the events of her conversation with Tenten and Konan.
"Naruto may act all happy and boisterous, but behind it lies a past that could shed anyone's tears," Konan explained, "The same goes for all of us here in guild, and I can tell that it is something that you and your friends have in common."
"The story's like this," Tenten added, "When he was a child, around age four, he was taken in and raised by a man named Minato Dragneel Namikaze. He taught him how to read, speak, write, and play. When the time came, he eventually taught him his Lightning Beast Magic."
"Yeah, about that, was Minato secretly a talking animal, or…" Hinata tried to ask.
"He wasn't." Konan told her. "He was human, just like the rest of us. Although Naruto didn't talk about him much, we knew he cared for him a lot."
"So you can imagine that after he just up and vanished one day, Naruto didn't take it too well," frowned Tenten. "He just left him behind, and he was so upset that he removed the Namikaze name and just started using Dragneel as his last name."
"Yikes," Hinata said solemnly, "That has to be saddening."
"Agreed." Tenten nodded, "Which is one of the big reasons why he wants to save Kakashi. He doesn't want Konohamaru to go through what he had to."
Konan decided to speak up. "May we ask you and your friends to keep an eye on Naruto for us?"
Hinata widened her eyes at that.
"For starters, he was the first person of the guild you met." Tenten reasoned. "And second, it's for his long-term benefit. He may want us to think he's okay, but one day it's going to start consuming him. He may have us, and for sure Kurama, but he'll need as many friends as he can in order to persevere."
Hinata thought long and hard about Tenten's words as they reached their destination.
"Finally, we made it." Naruto groaned as he got up from the seat.
"He has answered my prayers. Thank you Magic Deities." Kurama prayed.
"I never thought a talking nine-tailed fox prays to magic deities." Said Tsume.
"You'll need all those prayers saved when you have to deal with crap like this each and every day." The fox justified. "I lost count of how many times I cleaned up after him."
"And I thought my group was eccentric." She mumbled as Naruto just kissed the ground of Mount Myoboku.
"Just be glad he didn't vomit all over the costume." Added Suigetsu, "I would hate to clean up this thing."
"You already gotten used to wearing it, huh?" Kisame smirked.
"Well, women do like dolphins." Suigetsu said, and then widened his eyes at what he said. "Dammit! I just started enjoying this punishment! Why do I do this to myself?!" He comically sobbed. Kisame and Kurama laughed at him.
I take every word of that back. Tsume thought to herself.
"Yikes, it's so warm here." Hinata muttered to himself. "Thought we would have to deal with a blizzard or something."
"Myoboku isn't a typical mountain." Naruto told her, feeling good as new. As if he never used a mode of transportation before. "It's often known for its landscape, which is said to withstand even the strongest blizzard."
"Uh-huh." Hinata just went with it. "So what exactly did Kakashi do in this place?"
"He was tasked with a protecting the village here from Enma and his Vulcan tribe. They have been known to reside in one of the caves and attack people who step into their territory."
"That in no way makes any sense." Tsume said to him. "If they only attack people who walk into their business, how does that justify attacking a village full of innocents?"
"Perhaps they were provoked." Kurama answered. "Primates are known to be angry whenever someone riles them up too much. Hopefully, I hope they rip off the ridiculous costume." He pointed to Suigetsu.
"I thought that Kisame would want to wear it instead!" the white head yelled.
"Then you shouldn't have left the brawl!" Tsume yelled back.
"I tried to come back if it weren't for that orange haired oaf landing on top of me! And you could've helped too!"
"Had our hands full." Kisame shrugged. "You're with the big boys now, you can do it yourself."
"You're no fun at all." Suigetsu hung his head.
"All of you, knock it off." Hinata told the three. "We got company." True to her statement, a white furred monkey with a white goatee and sideburns wearing mesh armor jumped in front of them.
"Humans." The monkey sneered. "You are not welcome here. Leave before you make me angry."
"We mean you no harm, Vulcan." Naruto told him, "We just came here to find our friend. A man named Kakashi Hatake."
"Hatake, hmm." The Vulcan pondered. "You six must be from the group of mages he worked for. Fox Tail, I believe. You people have made a mess of my tribe when he fought them off."
"Hold on a moment, we never even did anything yet! We didn't even come here for a fight!"
"Silence, brat!" Enma ordered, "For too long, my tribe has been disturbed, first by that other man, and now with Hatake nearly decimating twenty-five of them! Now you should know what it's like to he disturbed. Starting with the shark man." He pointed to Kisame.
"Me? You want to pick a fight with me?" Kisame smirked. "Challenge accepted, then. I always wanted a chance to show off my new skills."
"Water Make: Narwhal Sword!" He shouted as he created a narwhal made out of water and held it like a sword.
"Aquatic animal magic." Enma grimaced. "What made you gain access to this deplorable magic?"
"It's a gift from a friend, and I prefer to leave it at that." He turned to Naruto and company. "Go, I'll hold him off! You all just find Kakashi!"
"Right!" And with that, the jinchuriki, Kurama, Hinata, Suigetsu, and Tsume left.
"Interesting." The monkey surmised, "All this magic, and yet you prefer to use weapons." He reached for the back of his head, "Luckily, I brought my own." He smiled to reveal a staff that he held with his two hands.
With a proud grin on his fanged mouth, Kisame charged at the Vulcan Chieftain, with the latter doing the same, and then the two clashed weapons.
Meanwhile, Naruto and company managed to reach Myoboku Village. Or a monkey-playground, nearly destroyed replica of it. They couldn't believe the damage done to the place. Nearly destroyed houses, broken windows, Vulcan bodies scattered around, and everything else being more or less unrecognizable for a civilian. If there were any civilians because the place was mostly empty and quiet, so it was hard to tell.
"How is this supposed to be a mountain village?!" Suigetsu yelled.
"Yeesh, they did a number on this place." Tsume cringed. "No wonder Vulcans are feared so much."
"Don't get me started." Naruto agreed. "Let's just hope there are civilians here. Maybe they could help us find Kakashi."
"Hate to burst your bubble, but the place looks practically abandoned save for the apes." Suigetsu told him. "How are we supposed to find any sort of civilians?"
Tsume sniffed the air around her. "Nothing from the scent either." She said, "Maybe if we reach one of the houses, we'll be sure to find something."
"Why not just use your new magic?" Hinata told her. "Didn't you bite your thumb or something?"
"Me and my brain. I was so focused on getting there I forgot I had it." She laid her palm on the ground. "Summoning Magic: Kuromaru!"
And the resulting smoke gave way to reveal a blue and white wolf with an eyepatch and a non-existent left ear. Suigetsu and Kurama just hid behind Naruto.
"Please don't hurt us! We're innocent!" They both whimpered in unison.
"Oh, you two are babies." Tsume scoffed at them, then turned to Kuromaru, "Search anywhere for innocents or friendly apes. They could be of some use for us."
Kuromaru nodded and walked around the village. As this is happening, Naruto wanted some answers.
"What even is that thing?"
Tsume turned to him and jerked her thumb to the wolf. "Oh, he's part of my new magic. Summoning Magic is when someone summons a specific animal to fight alongside him or her when fighting enemies. So far, he's my first summon since I basically just trained with my bare hands."
"That did not look like it had been tamed." Hinata pointed out, somewhat fearful around the canine.
"Yeah, animals that look like him are why that magic has been deemed rare magic." She told her as they waited for him. "Most summoners let the animals take most of the damage while they sit back and do nothing. It's like a damn Pokémon battle for them, I swear."
"Yeah, I'd rather fight alongside an animal rather than use them as a bare weapon." Suigetsu said. "Even if they were created with elements."
"Kisame's magic is not like that, you know." She said to him, "Good grief, you spend too much time flossing those fangs to even consider options like this."
That was when Kuromaru barked, and Naruto and Hinata let out a sigh of relief.
"That means he found someone." Tsume told them. She nodded to them so that they could reach him. After a few seconds, they reached a young boy with brown hair and glasses. (A/N: For those who don't know, this is Udon Ise, one of Konohamaru's friends. I couldn't find any suitable roles for him).
"Seems to be just unconscious." She checked his pulse. "But he's still alive, so that's good."
The boy, Udon, woke up to find the four mages and a talking fox crouching in front of him. He recoiled and tried to hide from them.
"Woah, we're not here to hurt you. We're those Fox kids." She said in the hope to diffuse the situation. Which seems to have worked in her favor.
"Thank goodness. I thought I was a goner." Udon then stood up. "Unfortunately, there doesn't seem much left of the town."
"We're here to talk to you about a missing friend of ours. He was about 6 ft tall, had a mask on, and a complete enigma." Naruto told him.
"Unfortunately, he's not here," the boy told them, "but he should be in one of the caves."
"Caves?" Kurama asked him. "Which cave is he reading that book of his at now?"
"More like being dragged to." He explained to them, "After he fended off the Vulcans, there was another man who just knocked him unconscious and just took him away."
"And what did this other guy look like?" Hinata asked him. Deep down, she wondered if it was that Mizuki guy she met from Naka City.
"Can't say for sure. Only saw him from behind." Udon felt scared. "He had white hair and gray clothes. And he seemed to have a giant star, stuck on his back."
"What?!" Naruto yelled, shocking the other five. "I thought I left him for the Magic Council to pick up!"
"Dammit, Naruto!" Kurama yelled. "Learn to think before you leave your enemies lying around!"
"You mean you know him?!" Udon screeched.
"Unfortunately, we had the "honor" to meet him ourselves." Suigetsu said with venom at the word honor. "This guy's name is Mizuki the Hyena, long story, and it seems that he kidnapped Kakashi before the Shrine debacle."
"And he's the first enemy we fought before we joined the guild." Hinata said, before thinking, This isn't possible. How did he manage to escape the Magic Council? I thought they would be fast enough to even get the guy.
"There could only be two theories." Hinata turned to her group. "Either he left behind some sort of Clone, or he used the Vulcan attack as a distraction while he was doing his trafficking."
"Well, we'll figure that out when we beat the crap out of him again." Tsume offered, "So now we gotta find him."
"First things first," Suigetsu turned to Udon, "which cave did he go into?"
Meanwhile, on to Kisame and Enma, the two continued to keep fighting, never letting go of their weapons. That is until the former had an idea.
"Water Make: Dolphin Dive!" He shouted as a dolphin appeared from below Enma, managing to land a hit on him from below, but it wasn't long before the next attack was dodged.
"Boomerang Staff!" the monkey yelled as he threw his staff. It twirled in the air as it attempted to reach its target.
"Humpback Shield!" He made another water animal, this time that of a humpback whale, in front of him in order to block the attack. Something that shockingly managed to work, much to Enma's shock.
"Ready for more?" Kisame smirked at him.
This made Enma more riled up than he was earlier, as he charged towards the shark-man and roared as he continued to trade blows with his bare fists.
"Poor choice, then." He made another pose. "Water-Make: Jellyfish Sting!" Kisame made a jellyfish out of water and used it to zap Enma unconscious.
"Seems he's still breathing." He muttered to himself, as he checked for the monkey's pulse.
"You were a worthy opponent after all." He smiled not out of bloodlust, but of appreciation. "I look forward to fighting you again, Enma the Vulcan. Under friendlier circumstances." And with that, he headed off to where Naruto and company should be.
Back to the mission at hand, the aforementioned group of five headed to the nearest cave they could. While there, they managed to find who they were looking for, the very man tied to a chair in a dank prison cell.
"Kakashi!" Naruto yelled in excitement. "Thank goodness you're okay!"
"Thunder Arrow!" Another voice shouted as the fake Yellow Flash shot arrows made of lightning at the group. Each and every one, even Kurama dodged them, with Naruto consuming the one aimed for him.
In stepped Mizuki, complete with smirk on his face, aimed specifically at Naruto.
"Guess this is my lucky day," he smirked. "Not only do I run into the oh-so-great Naruto Dragneel again, but I also finally get to have my revenge."
"How the hell did you manage to escape Naka Shrine?!" the blonde yelled in anger, "I was sure I had you left behind for the Magic Council!"
"Did you forget that I had my lightning speed as well?" He taunted, "There was a reason why I masqueraded as your precious Yellow Flash." He demonstrated his lightning speed where he zipped straight to Kakashi, getting a hold on his neck.
"And I didn't appreciate being left behind." He started to frown, "In fact, that made me hate your fucking guild more than I already did!"
"Pettiness knows no bounds, it seems." Suigetsu snarked, "But personally, I'm just glad that you won't be hurting any more of those girls. Because now I have a chance to finish you. Torrent: Surfing Waves!"
He created two large waves that were heading straight towards Mizuki's direction. Unfortunately, he managed to dodge the waves, and just in time for another attack.
"Thunder Cloud: Fog!"
Before the gang knew it, they were surrounded by black clouds, preventing them from seeing him and catching up to him.
"Can't see a damn thing." Tsume yelled. "How the hell are we supposed to get to Kakashi?"
"Wait, he had a name?" Yellow Flash taunted from the clouds, "Like I cared about that. Right now, I just want to see what makes you all so special enough for this masked shithead!"
"Where even is he?" Naruto groaned from the fog. He turned to his companion, "Kurama, do you think you can?"
"Already on it," the fox twirled each of his nine tails before using them as makeshift fan. Slowly, but surely the clouds were removed, but neither Mizuki nor Kakashi were on sight.
"Never took the distraction into account." Suigetsu complained, "What the hell did he even do with him?"
That was when a grey Vulcan tackled him to the ground, roaring along the way.
"Another Vulcan?" Naruto asked. "I thought he defeated them all."
"That's not a Vulcan by any means." Suigetsu said as he melted into a human puddle. As he reformed himself. "I think Hyena man mutated him or something."
"Man, they sure need to do a better job on cleaning their messes." Mizuki laughed as he landed in front of them, "That DNA was lying there for the picking. How could I have resisted such an opportunity?"
"You bastard." Naruto gritted his teeth. "I'll be sure to finish what I started this time."
"And I'll be sure to look forward to it." The Hyena answered, "If you can even find me." He sped away afterwards.
"Come back here!" Naruto yelled in anger, chasing after him. Kurama followed suit, leaving Hinata, Tsume, and Suigetsu dealing with an angry Vulcan.
"So much for caring about their friends." Suigetsu moaned. "How are we even supposed to deal with him?" He pointed to the transformed Kakashi.
"What do you think?" Tsume barked, "We fight him, costumed or not."
"Great, can't wait to explain this thing to him." He complained, getting into a fighting stance with the girls.
The Vulcan Hatake slammed at his fists at the ground, with each mage continue to dish everything they got with their bare hands. Doesn't mean that the Vulcan will just take them, as he sent them flying a few times. Unfortunately, after that was a magic show that it will never forget.
"Gentle Step Shinken: 64 Pressure Point Strike!" Hinata yelled as she landed some finger jabs at the angry ape. Each one grew faster and faster with every jab she manage to dish at him.
"Let's do this, Kuromaru!" Tsume said, getting on her hands and feet. "Twirling Wolf Fang!" They spun in a drill-like state hoping to aim at Kakashi. Despite his best efforts, he wasn't able to stop them.
"I guess it's my turn now." Suigetsu smirked to himself, "Torrent: Surfing Waves!" He created two more waves, after continually dodging some hits from the Vulcan. The waves were just enough to sweep him away, and enough for him to fall unconscious. He then transformed back into Kakashi.
"How pathetic." Tsume laughed to herself, "I thought Vulcans were supposed to be tough. This one is a complete pushover."
"Tell me about it," Suigetsu agreed, "The bar fight was more of a challenge than this thing."
"Well, he has been here for around five days, so maybe we should just give him a pass." Hinata said. The other two just shrugged in defeat, moaning to themselves about how pathetic the Vulcan fight was.
"Next time, I take the better fights from Kisame," the lone male added, "He shows off way too much."
We now move on to the Naruto and Mizuki rematch. The two mages were going at it like no other, each one creating more and more lightning. Kurama secretly prayed that he wouldn't go deaf as he watched the battle around him.
"You can't eat every one of my magic, beast-man." Mizuki taunted. "Thunder Arrow!" He shot more arrows at Naruto, who was busy dodging every one of them.
"Lightning Beast's Rasengan!" Naruto yelled as he created another ball made of lightning energy. He slammed it right at Mizuki's stomach sending it flying.
"What gives with you, huh?" Mizuki griped, "First you expose my plans, then you attack me with those other demon brats, and now here you are again, challenging me again!" He continued to shoot more thunder arrows as he talked, "Why are you always following me? What makes you come after people like me?!"
"You already know the answer," Naruto responded, "You've been hurting the people of my guild for a long time now. I'm not someone who is just going to let that stand."
"And you should be someone who gets over it." His opponent snarled, "I've fought a lot of people at other guilds, and like them, you seem to be a person who just does his job because of a quick buck. Now save the sappy friendship shit and let me hurt you and your damn guild for what they did?!" This time he threw his shuriken at him. Naruto manage to catch it with ease and crunkle it up.
"My guild itself is founded based on that sappy stuff." The jinchuriki gritted his teeth at him. "Everyone there is important to me. Kurama, Hinata, Suigetsu, Iruka, Ino, Kushina, Tenten, Tsunade, even Sasuke and Jugo. And you can include those other people you met before, and especially someone like Kakashi and Konohamaru." He made a lightning-based shuriken to throw at his opponent, who wasn't fortunate enough to entirely avoid it.
"They all are my friends," Naruto raised his voice with each word, "And I won't just get over what you planned to do with him!" He created another shuriken, "Lightning Beast's Shuriken!" He threw this other one straight at Mizuki again, this time hitting him completely. It sent him slamming into a wall, resulting in him becoming unconscious. It wasn't long before Kisame, Hinata, and company ran towards him, with the former two carrying Kakashi on their back.
"Yikes, couldn't have gone further overboard, huh." Hinata said as she saw Mizuki's body.
"What can we say, he was asking for it." Kurama responded. He noticed Kakashi's human form. "Seems you managed to turn him back."
"Yeah, talk about pathetic." Suigetsu and Tsume griped in unison. Kisame just laughed at them, knowing that he had a better fight when compared to them.
"We better not plan to leave him here again," The nine-tailed fox warned everyone, "Chances are he's just going to escape again."
"True," Naruto considered. He pointed to Kurama. "Maybe you can fly me to the station."
"How hypocritical," teased Kisame, "Can't handle a single vehicle, yet you can fly with your furry friend."
"Quit calling him a vehicle, he's my ally!" Naruto yelled angrily.
"I should have mentioned that all Exceeds like myself can fly." Kurama sighed to himself.
"I'll believe it when I see it." Tsume dismissed.
Kakashi managed to get up, but had trouble doing so because of the injuries form his fight. "Thanks for saving me," he told them. His eyes drooped in disappointment, as far as expressions go. "I feel so ashamed now." He told them, "Although I managed to beat twenty-five of them, that Hyena man just showed up and brought me here." Everyone, more so Naruto and Kurama, looked at him in shock. "How can I even look at Konohamaru in the eye?"
"Are you kidding me?!" Suigetsu yelled at him in his dolphin costume, "Twenty-five sounds like a world record!"
"And you managed to save the people nearby." Naruto smiled.
"Start feeling proud of yourself," Tsume assured him, "Any ninja mage would have just given up at the fifth, some at the third." She helped put Kakashi to his feet. "Let's go already. Time to make your kid's dreams come true."
Meanwhile, waiting on the steps of the Fox Tail building was Konohamaru Hatake. He was preventing tears from falling off his eyes. Although a common reason was because of his missing father, he was actually crying over the guilt.
He remembered that day, very vividly. Every time he looked up at the sun, the memories wouldn't fade. Not even talking with Shikamaru or Kushina would help him.
"You actually want to be a ninja mage when you grow up? You're kidding, right?"
"Yeah, Hatake, everyone knows that knights are much cooler. All they do is fight and drink all day."
"Can't wait to be a knight when I get older! They get to do all the badass stuff!"
That day, he couldn't handle the jeers and the bullying anymore. He walked to Kakashi, who was busy drinking with Guy and Tsunade, and begged his eyes out.
"Please, Dad, just take one of the missions for me! I'm sick of all the teasing! Just do something to make it stop!"
He wouldn't be surprised if his father just told him to get over it, like he usually does. But the response made him surprised, to the point that he thought Jugo got through to him.
"You got it, kid."
Unbeknownst to him, it would be the last time he thought of that day, as he heard the footsteps of Naruto and Hinata, along with their friends, complete with his dad. Konohamaru smiled and ran off to hug him, overjoyed at the sight before him.
"Dad, you came back!" He hugged Kakashi, who lifted him up and hugged him back. "I'm so sorry, it's my fault you didn't come back earlier!"
"Don't be," he told him, "I'm sorry I didn't return sooner. I didn't mean to make you too worried about me."
"It's okay." His son answered, "You're a ninja mage. You can do anything." This made Kakashi smile underneath his mask.
"Now ask those bullies one thing: 'Can your dad defeat twenty-five Vulcans? Because mine can.'" He bragged in a light-hearted tone.
He nodded and ran to hug Naruto and Hinata,
"Thank you, big brother Naruto and big sister Hinata."
Hinata blushed at what he called her, while Naruto tousled his head in a good-natured way.
"Don't mention it, kid. Just doing my job, you know."
He then ran to Suigetsu and hugged him. "Thank you too, Mr. Dolphin!"
This made everyone present laugh, except for Suigetsu, who half-smiled and half-fumed at his predicament.
Just two days. Hinata thought to herself, Two consecutive days. I met a jinchuriki and an Exceed, got into the guild of my dreams, destroyed a slave ring, saved a comrade's life, and took down my first enemy. She started to smile. Fox Tail may be loud, and they may bicker every day, but deep down, they're one big family. I may be new here, but I'll be damned before I turn my back on everyone, new and old.
And the end. That was the end of the Kakashi arc. I'm still continuing on the weekends, so you get the Daybreak arc next Saturday and Sunday.
Tsume: Feels weird being an extra member of the mission.
Kurama: It feels weird to me that I don't do shit in this arc.
Well, next arc you get to shine, Kurama.
Suigetsu: Can I take this thing off now?
Yes, you can. You won't be needing to wear that thing anymore.
Suigetsu: Thank you, Hagoromo.
Sasuke: I'd rather wear that ridiculous outfit any day than strip to my boxers.
Naruto: Maybe we can add some glue to make sure your clothes stays on.
Sasuke: This is embarrassing.
Maybe I should have you bond with Gray. And have you two go to an intervention.
Sasuke: That would be great, thanks.
Today's note of the day, readers: Always leave reviews please. It helps me improve my story in the future.
Other than that, what do you think of the fight scenes? Leave a review there as well.
Thank you guys, and I will see you all during the Daybreak arc.
