As always, do give me your thoughts.
Ave Imperator,
The Demon of the lake.
Cold…
The winter has always been cold, staying in the mountains has its benefits and its detractions. For the small woman who stayed in a cabin that looked like it has seen better days was hunched over a small fire hoping for dawn to break and the snow to clear, hoping for warmer days was dying, dying from the frigid cold, dying of hunger… soon a silhouette had formed in the snow "hello?" said the small woman who strained her eyes to see the stranger travelling to her cabin. It was a man… clad in a black suit with a white hat, skin as pale as the snow that surrounds him and hair black as the shadowy trees looming behind him but perhaps his most striking feature was those Vermillion red eyes that pierced the soul. "Hello." came his unnaturally smooth voice that seemingly echoed in the snow "sorry sir… I don't have any food or comfort to offer… for there is none to give" said the small woman coughing, his smile was small and his lips parted "perhaps i can offer you some assistance?" as he leaned over the dying woman and pressed his sharp nail on her head "maybe a new life?" the woman looked at him "what do you get?" his smile seemed to grow larger "only that you never speak of this" "Deal-" she never got to finish before his finger sunk into her skull and soon a hostile Burning feeling spread from that spot and she blacked out "Never leave the mountains safety as the sun will kill you" was the last thing she heard him speak before blacking out.
When she woke the man was nowhere to be found and the hunger remained but now for the flesh of her fellow man, her body looked healthier… far healthier than she's ever been she raised her hand to her face which was gaunt with starvation and dehydration filled out with beauty, one thing remained was her one eye was milky white with blindness… so she stepped out of the cabin timidly as the night was still young and her hunger drove her to find something… someone to feast upon, with a burst of speed she ran down the mountain into the thick trees that surrounded it as she came upon a small settlement of farmers next to a great lake that was filled from a sinkhole. She quietly stepped into the village and her hunger soared at seeing a lone man sleeping and she immediately dove and bit down and her world went crimson…
Urokodaki POV
The Water Hashira Sakonji Urokodaki made his way to Mount Sagari as there were many reports of disappearances and hushed whispers of a demon. As he made his way over there his Haori flapping in the harsh winds coming from the mountain and daylight slowly fading behind him he stepped into the small farming village as it became a ghost town with people moving away and the disappearances over the nights he walked up to a man closing finishing up for the night "Excuse me?" he softly spoke so as not to frighten the man too much but the man still jumped before he calmed down "y-yes? How can I help you?" the man clearly intimidated by the mask he wore "I am hearing rumours of disappearances and demons could you elaborate?" the man visibly froze up. "The Demon of the lake" he pointed at the lake a small ways off "she comes at night but only targets very few like that, come and go but one thing is common between them, they were the worst men and women i've met to date… Thugs, rapists and even worse I dare not name… while the woman is a demon she's done more good than harm, it's getting late sir I suggest heading back" and with that the man entered his abode leaving the slayer outside thinking 'only attacks scum?' he thought. Sankonji moved beside the lake and watched the moonlit surface and he stepped back as a shape rapidly rose from the lake and landed a few metres behind him "you come where you are not needed slayer." her eyes a almost spectral blue watching him carefully "Why is that" his retort came but he did not move, his sword drawn "for every man and woman that has committed a heinous crime has been slain by my hand as they were the worst of the worst, but a thief trying to kill for the sake of feeding their family should only get a slap on their wrist, tell me slayer… would it be wise to have his candidate list limited?" his sword was lowered as he looked at her carefully then he sheathed his weapon "if you kill only criminals then i shall let you live but if you kill a single innocent i shall be the one to cut your head off demon" came urokodaki's response "Nimue" came her humoured response "my name is Nimue, lady of the lake…" "Sakonji Urokodaki" was his introduction and soon it formed a mutual understanding of distanced trust…
Well that's that for this one but let me know how you all feel and again if you have any suggestions do let me know i enjoy reading criticism that will help me build as a writer, ry out for now
